I've seen quite a lot of interest on this live version of Pneuma by Tool with Danny Carey camera angle so I was very curious but I wanted to save it to see it with you so this is my first time reaction to the piece my usual stats on screen, quality tier at the end and also the character sheet of Danny Carey. Let's go! Danny Carey, Pneuma, Tool. Alright let's see why everybody is talking about this so cool, is that electronic? with different pitch for each zone, so cool that must be electronic right? It cannot be acoustic that's for sure electronic ah the sticks what a crowd wow that's odd the snare sound is very peculiar the hi-hat position is interesting so many interesting sounds in that kit the ride is almost vertical it's interesting how the d rums is doing basically everything in this part of the song: melody, rhythm and the guitars are accompanying by the way I'm a Vic Firth endorser too, a small one compared to him but still high five Danny Ok, quality tier, there are especially a couple of aspects which I believe are really interesting one is the complex meter and the interlocking of the different instrument parts which is really odd, really interesting and the other is the sounds, some instruments have interesting sounds but especially drums with all these combinations of electronic pads and acoustic drums it really interesting especially the way Danny is integrating these kind of different sounds into the musical context so 5 stars for creativity on the emotional side I never felt a huge wave of energy throughout the piece but the tension is really vivid in the piece and there is definitely a powerful chorus so 4 stars for emotional on the memorable side ok the piece is really complex and even if the chorus is quite easy to remember or at least that's the easiest part to remember, §I would say that 3 stars is the maximum we can get here and 5 stars for skills especially yet again for the complex meters and also the drum solos the small drum solos around the piece are quite skilled so 5 stars. alright time for the character sheet Danny Carey is a very good drummer, with great creativity rock solid drum skills and a good knowledge in several different genres no wonder he's considered a legend in the prog metal scene Alright if you enjoy the format please leave a thumb up, thanks a lot.
