uh the Sherry show was nominated for an NAACP image award for outstanding talk series that makes me so happy oh my goodness and some more good news I'm nominated for outstanding host you know last year we last year we won for outstanding talk shows so you know listen we're always grateful for nominations cuz that means people are responding to the work but it's good to get both categories and you deserve outstanding hope absolutely oh my gosh it really truly is such an honor and it was an honor last year when we won for best talk show so thank you so much to the NAACP um the NAACP image Awards airs March 16th on BET and CBS are we going we are going we are going we're going so y'all my friend Gail King I love her so much she is opening up about what type of guy she is into so while she was on the pivot podcast Gail told the host what turns her on take a look look because I really am attracted to uh men of color I just am I love how a black man says no baby nobody says it's like y'all it's two separate things it's not baby it's two separate things I love how they say hey baby how you doing ah it's different it is different and then how they just say it could be a term of endearment it could be it could be a term of endearment or it could be I'm really pissed but there's something about the a black man says it I'm just I'm attracted to that I was cracking up during this whole interview and I will tell yall this uh clap if you surprised by this okay nobody surprised I am not one one person is surprised I'm not surprised by this at all because Gail that's why I get along so well with Gail Gail is like me We like rough neck we do let me tell you something it's just something about that swag all right and so gaale is looking for that Thug Passion yay y Gale is looking for the toe curlers yeah is looking for that one you know that one that just hit you and you be walking you like Gale wants to revisit let me tell you and if you don't know what I'm talking about ask your mama Gale King is that type of woman she'd have caused the East Coast West Coast Wars all right Gil would have been that type of woman that have dated both Biggie and Tupac that's the G is G likes that kind of man and she got to put money on his books that's what I like matter of fact I think Gail King is over there accepting a collect call from Su Knight right now you get that bring hello yes yes I'll accept the collect call hey shook hey hey shook wait minut hold on Oprah it's Su I'mma call you right back I think you know here's the thing I think Gil has had that kind of stock broker type men in the past and of course and they bring stability they bring the niceness they take their pants off they fold them really neatly they take you to the Fortune 500 holiday parties you know you could take those men home to meet your parents and your friends and that's all fine and good I think that's a little boy and a g you know and because ladies we all you know you know we all go through our crazy phase and I remember I told ni Nash my best friend I said I like it I like a man that all he does is when we walking around he just has to do the head knot and everybody's in fear you know the head knot when they do this yeah and everybody just jumps and and I and I remember I told her I told ni I said I just want to make man that everybody thinks it's crazy in case something jumps off and ni said where are you ever going to be that something crazy G to jump off Sherry like that's not even you but I understand what Gail is saying cuz it's like you know you want to walk with a man people are slightly scared of them like what you going to do next Gil wants that kind of man that just looks at her and says I got you baby I got you now I don't know what that means but he got it he got it your Gail wants a man and he don't smile all the time you know that man he just kind of looks at you he don't smile he's always in that mood and he just that's what she likes and so Gail is like I I I I I make fun of Tony Braxton All The Time with Birdman you know it's like there's something about good girls always want that bad boy doesn't matter who it's something alluring about the bad boy and I know Oprah is over there shaking her head at all of this I can see Oprah was saying what is wrong with my friend I have tried to set her up with heads of states and CEOs but she just likes to thug life but you know Oprah Oprah don't be upset at Gail she don't like the way the CEOs say baby you know and I know Oprah's like I just don't ask me to set you over with anybody else Gail but you know here's the problem Gail and I texted her this this yesterday you're in a different class now you're on CVS morning you're on King Charles you report on Wars and heads of state in your phone right now you have president's numbers in your cell phone you even say when you go to the White House and your best friend is Oprah Winfrey so here's the problem girl what hear you going to find a thug that can deal with all of that I know secretly Gail is hoping that flavor fa is watching this interview right now cuz see flavor flavor you can take to the White House Gil flavor I I know Gail hoping that that the flavor going to slide in them DM's like Yeah Boy flavor but Gail I have to tell you I thoroughly enjoy the interview so y'all if you know of anybody who is a reformed Thug that ain't on the run hit me up and I'mma text G with the picture oh my gosh I love that so much now Sunny htin of the view is clapping back at people who say she dresses too young she says she's constantly getting trolled on the Internet by people who are saying that she dresses too young for her age so this week she just got tired she clapped back on the air take a look I'm 55 I get criticized often on these stupid social media things about that's too young for you well guess what I don't care I like to wear what I want to wear oh my goodness all my girlfriends are cracking me up today let me tell you something about sunny hustin sunny htin is on a look at Sunny H look at what she wearing Sunny HW got an overall jumpsuits that look at look at them little short shorts she got on where her legs Sunny H is on a breast reduction High all right she didn't got skinny she feeling herself and that is a good thing you know because I notice firsthand when you start feeling yourself you start dressing the way that you've always wanted to dress okay you you you work hard to get the things that you want you work hard to get your body the the right way so you started addressing the way that you've always wanted to dress people tell me all the time on comments they'll say Sher you really need to stop you got to dress your age and I go but what is my age I know this is a different day we are a age but we don't feel that age we we got there's a vibrancy there's an energy that we have so when you say when you say dress your age I don't what does that mean one lady wrote to me and she's very respectful but she said must you always post your body Sherry she say sure you have great health but why don't you show other ways of having confidence and I was just like my health is my confidence like if you don't have your health it's hard to do everything else so you know that's my confidence and I I said to the lady do you know how hard it is to get up at 4 a.m. to get to the gym three or four times a week that's the discipline that I have worked for my entire ire life that messes so hard so if I'm going to be in the gym every three four times a week 4 and 5 in the morning oh I'm showing that sucker off all the time all the but you do have to show your confidence and if reading books hundred books a year shows your confidence then post that but Sunny is feeling the best that she's ever felt in her life she's looking the best as she's ever looked she's a regular co-host on the views she's an entrepreneur she's written four bestselling books she has put her son through Harvard University so if this woman anybody knows that put their their kids through college that is hard if that woman wants to wear a Versace mini dress and thigh high socks I say you go girl you go girl and wear it we got to get out of the tropes of you know what dressing for your age and you not supposed to wear this and that as long as Sunny htin is still inspiring she's standing by her moral ground let her have her fun cuz the only re and let me tell y'all something and you the the only reason y'all never see me up here with a mini skirt on right now is because y'all don't need to be seeing nobody hoo-ha okay on this you really don't I don't want to traumatize nobody but Lally I'll put on an outfit and Willie has to make sure he makes me sit down on the couch and he'll say nope it's too short this is daytime and I respect that but if it wasn't for that me sliding off this chair all the time I'll be in hot ping mini skirts all the time so Sunny H you better go on [Laughter] girl y'all a man on Tik Tock he went on a first date with a woman and he pushed all the wrong buttons when he asked her to split the bill she was really upset with him and yes yes what exactly ex L he recorded their interaction uh take a look why are we splitting the bill well I mean it's our first date so I thought we should maybe go hot I can't believe you made us split the bill I mean you ordered an appetizer that I didn't even touch why do you think that I should you asked me out I know but you ordered something you asked me out all right see you hello hello see you bye yes sir I'm I'm on her side I did you know what you asked me out you better be able to pay for me if you're going to ask me out you ask like I'm not sure who who is talking to this man but if you want me to split the bill you tell me that beforehand you don't wait till we get to the restaurant you just say you know what I really want to take you out but I'm on a budget right now would you mind if we go dutch you got to let the person know now for me more than likely you going to get a know from me but at least you are upfront because if it if you reverse that if I ask a man to go out I can't go wait a minute you're the man so you supposed to pay for me no I asked you to go out so if you can't afford it you're not supposed to take her out all right you definitely not going to get a second date y'all can tell by the way she sounded you are not getting a second day dat from that girl I would be so hot if I got to the restaurant and he said let can we split the bill I would go you know what let me go to the I got to go to the bathroom I'll be taking all my stuff I'm going go I'm going be right back and they be like sir are you going to take care of this bill cuz the lady left all right ready if and and if you didn't have any money take her somewhere where you can afford to take her to Starbucks meet for coffee if she meet you for cfee cuz the most you can order at Starbucks is maybe two lemon pound cakes a cake pop a vent chai latte and a banana you can do that you got y'all I don't judge you if you can't afford it but if you can't afford it you have to date for your income you got to date for your finances and definitely sir you got to communicate cuz there was supposed to have been a conversation beforehand about going dutch so we don't have your back on this one sir not at all she should have been mad y'all I got to give a huge shout out to my dear friend Lisa Anne Walter you know her from Abbott Elementary and now she's got a new title which I already knew you're going to know her as genius because this week she won celebrity Jeopardy's grand prize of $1 million for her charity and her charity is the entertainment Community Fund she won a million dollars and she played opposite Mo Rocka and Katie Nolan and Lisa Anne said it was one of the greatest nights of her career she said she drove home thinking I don't have to win another thing that was enough you darn skippy girl oh my God to win that for your charity I don't know what it would be like to win a million dollars for a charity cuz when I play Jeopardy my charity got the $75 that I won and so and I'mma tell my charity right now I'm moving dat Mafia was my charity I'mma tell him if you're looking at this segment right now you you are not going to get nowhere near close to a million but if you need Lisa Ann's number I will text your number to Lisa an um but I what I love about my friend is she knows a a little bit about a lot of things you ever have a friend like that they know a lot you know and so if you say to Lisa and oh my stomach is bloated she will know so much about what you should take if you say my foot's hurting she knows a little bit if you go anything about Russian history she knows a little bit about that so she won it and she put it to use congratulations friend so happy now y'all there's this trend going viral on Tik Tok and it's called the of course challenge where people talk about themselves and their jobs in statements that start with of course so Kim Kardashian hopped on the trend with an overthe toop peek into her office life skims which has millions of views so take a look I'm Kim Kardashian of course I have all my magazine covers covering my walls I'm Kim Kardash iian of course I have my mannequin with my custom measurements in my Glam room I'm Kim Kardashian of course I have a tanning bed and a red light bed in my [Music] office wow that was so [Music] relatable um it was so relatable in fact that our staffers wanted in on the challenge so my staff made their own video about life working on Sherry take a look we work on Sherry of course we're going to do the of course challenge we work on Sherry of course it's good vibes only we work on Sherry of course we hide our lunch from Norman we work on Sherry of course we have a secret joke ball hidden in our Supply Closet we work on Cherry of course we have cardboard cutouts of Lenny crabbits in our offices we work on Sherry it's 5 days a week of course we don't get any sleep we work on Cherry of course you're going to be playing fun games when we should be [Music] working too world Jasmine guy is here Jerry will be right [Music] back I was over the moon when my first guest won her first Emy award last week and this is so exciting we all fell in love with her over 30 years ago as Whitley Gilbert on the hit show a different world and since then she's been entertaining us for decades please welcome Jasmine guy I'm give you I'm going to give you this cuz I girl oh my gosh wow oh my gosh I first of all I just want to say this is the first time that we're formally meeting yes Jasmine but you don't even know but I saw you I was a legal secretary a while ago and you came to a bank uh where I were in Beverly Hills and I was behind you as you were standing in line and you turned around and you smiled and I just kept staring at you like I was a legal secretary and I always wanted to say hello so I get to say hi now you get to say hi now miss I'm so happy you know I heard you mention my name on your show last week and I called my public I was like Sher Sherry Seer said she wants to me on the show happen my go well thank you for making it happen J that was so nice of you that was so nice of you to give me a shout out like that we just love you and we and we want to congratulate you on your first Emy award win this is this is long overdue how did it feel well I have to say I was surprised at how excited I was when I won like I didn't realize it meant that much to me you know um yeah it was I was with my sister yes it was just like the old days when I used to go to the image Awards or Soul Train Awards I always have my sister with with me yeah and my best friend from ninth grade is here oh that's what I'm talking about the ninth grade best friend ninth grade she love your show she said I'm going I'm going with you to New York so I well you said well come on come on it I love that you were with your crew and I heard that your sister told you to sit like a lady because she sensed you were going to win she I was sitting on the aisle where the camera goes by but I was sitting like this just happen to be outside the house oh that's a pretty dress oh they look good and then she said Jasmine close your legs so I'm I was like okay and then right before um she said I think you're going to win what are you going to say and I want talking points and she gave me my talking points she used to do that for me like when I was on ouro she said you need to know what you're going to say cuz I'll ramble and not even promote whatever I was there for like Dam so you I I love this as well because this touched my heart you won an eny for The Chronicles of Jessica woo in which it shines a light on autism yes and that's just special so can you tell us about that this was a um this is a small production company a husband and wife yeah uh zaye hubard and and Kimberly hubard and they have a 13-year-old daughter with autism all of their work goes towards the foundation of educating and supporting children and and families of artistic children yeah thank you for that okay and now we also we Lov oh and there's a character in the show that has artism but she's a Superhero oh he has special powers and this is I love it I love it how they Shine the Light on that now A Different World We love a different world and now you dedicated your Emy to a different world why' you do that I just um I loved you know doing Jessica woo but a different world was six years of our lives and we're still very close and we're family and I always encourage them I used to say to them cuz they're younger than me mhm not anymore now we're all the same now the same age it's funny how that they caught up to each other um yeah it was about the work I said don't get caught up in the praise yes we praise each other we support each other it it was the show that was important yeah and I felt that that eny was shining because of them because you all of them DE Allen Susan all of our writers you know and so and it it was profound that I felt that the minute I saw darl Bell he was at the after uh party and he walked in and I was holding was holding it like this like I it just felt like look what we did yes because that was such an iconic show that didn't get the the recognition that it should have gotten we that was our show you know it a different world just affected people so much that even our EP our executive producer John Murray he went to an HBCU Norfolk State University behold the green and the gold he chose nor folk State University after seeing the show okay so do you hear that kind of story from students all over oh yes very powerful yeah enrollment almost tripled while we were on the um Air at HBCU yeah people grew up with us yes you know what I mean and if you were in college in real time with the show um you know in the early 9s um you really feel like we we went to the same school yes absolutely I have the um bad news that Helman is fictitious I've had to tell people cuz they're like you thought it was real yeah they they're like how do how do I apply to helmet I said well you can't go to Mission and you can't go to Helman both the shows um that I graduated from the colleges I graduated from were fictitious were fictitious exactly now you know I remember watching a different world and seeing Tupac on the show he guest started on on the show and you guys became really close and even he stayed with you after he was shot can you tell us about that well the development was after the shooting in New York first of all I was hanging out with Tupac because he was good friends with Jada with Jada and we were always hanging out after the show I mean we anyway so when he got shot at was about three or four months later and I went to New York with Jada and thought we were going to the hospital to Belleview but he had left already okay I said he was shot five times and he's not here you know well he didn't feel safe there you know he did just get shot he doesn't know he felt like a Sitting Duck you know what I mean and because I had a low profile and they didn't know friends yeah nobody but it kind of felt like the diary of and Frank cuz I couldn't tell anybody he was there he was staying with you yeah for a couple of weeks until his wounds had healed and his whole family was in there his mom aany glow the kids cousins everybody was in your house in my in that one room yeah right right and I was like if we're going to keep it peaceful everybody has to leave by 10 p.m. and and that lasted about 2 days yeah girl you know no you don't understand Shakur the Shakur don't go knowwhere Shakur yeah we going to show you how to have a family life you know fun I mean other than the stress of it right it's so funny when you talk about speaking or going nowhere cuz there was one other uh flower that I wanted to give you I loved you as Dena in school days school days was my that was my movie cuz you don't want to be alone tonight that right there it's just you are so relevant your work in everybody's you know it's just everybody has a favorite memory of school days of a different world why you think you resonate with so many people Jasmine I don't know I mean the timing of those shows was back to back I did school days Robbie Reed was casting she brought a lot of us that were in school days into um read for the new Lisa Bonet show yeah so the the timing was like back to back and so much fun I mean we stayed in hotels when we did school days but it felt like dorms yes people looking at the peephole to see who's going in and out of each other's room it was a very fun hot you know cast of people in that school days I love it and it was fun then and you've gotten your Emmy and I can't wait to see all of the doors you walking through now now it's a new it's like it's even a new chapter for you Jasmine I do feel that way yes I feel like how am I going to do my 60s I stopped having goals a a while ago I realized that yeah what happened to your goals I think it I gave them to my kid I really stopped thinking about oh by the time I'm Miss and by I stopped doing that cuz your daughter's 24 years old she's got the acting bug as well huh yeah she baby girl she went to NYU oh I like that picture that's Mama and daughter she doesn't cuddle with me like that anymore they don't they just stop my son used to kiss me and tell me how beautiful I was now he like the baby and you celebrated your second wedding anniversary with Jordan yes like your and I follow you both on social media your relationship inspires so many people did you set out to do that or it just happened uh it just kind of happen um but you know I have been encouraged my husband is such a trooper and you know sometimes we're so quick to be like oh honey I'm done with it but my husband like no we fighting for this honey o you know so I am um super excited to encourage other couples to believe in love and to believe in commitment because you got all of this stuff that you can just have and it's one thing to be committed to a person and you go from the world and you got somebody that's riding and dying for you so I'm I'm enjoying it oh my God I can tell though I cannot tell with both of y'all you know it's so funny Kiki because music is in your DNA it's it is in your whole family you are the daughter of Karen Clark of the Clark sister yes yes that dynasty You released your seventh album all yours um and you just announced your tour you got a new tour coming up I got a tour coming up what's the tour it's with Anthony Brown and Pastor Mike Jr and it's the I Got Away tour so you can go and check it out and get all the details I'm so excited I'm nervous cuz my baby has she's changed my voice a bit so I kind of got like a little be tone I sound a little like oh that's nice you know so it sounds real groom and sexy but that's what we need and I want also before I even go I want to give you your flowers because you were amazing because you played your mother Karen Clark in The Clark Sisters the movie you were so good in that thank you now girl you got a fan base just like the beehive okay so your fans you got a fun name that you call them I do we're called the keychain cuz we stay locked in okay all right now that's the thing about being locked in and now you're locked in you are now you do so much now you're writing books and you have got to tell us about Kiki finds her voice tell us about this absolutely so it's actually a yes thank you so it's actually a true story you can see we even Illustrated it with the little juice that I carry I was a little chunky then and I had little I'm still chunky praise God I like burgers there we go thank you Lord but uh this story is basically me auditioning at a a talent show and I wanted to sing a particular song My mom was like that's not appropriate for little girls your age and so she came and gave me a surprise and I was discouraged because I was compromising wanting to sing this song to fit in I wanted to fit in and make friends and I know there's a lot of peer pressure that young girls go through now and and um my parents were telling me shout out to my dad as well Bishop J Drew Shear but both of my parents were saying hey your differences has everything to do with your beauty and purpose and that's what drives you to Destiny and so this book is just encouraging young girls to keep going forward I love these illustrations they're so colorful in the message in this book so I'm I'm just and I know this is hitting the top of the bestseller right here I receive it finds a voice thank you yes thank you now I'm very this is what I'm excited for a girl because the gramys are only a few weeks away you have been nominated for best gospel performance okay so are you excited I'm so excited you know how sometimes it's just like you got to be pinched because it's like I don't deserve this so it's all God and I'm just grateful yes I'm grateful I just always say you got to walk in it because it's already been written you just walk on in it love and I have to say because your song with Tasha Tasha Cobbs that's I walk to that every day I work out to it I cry to it you completely inspired so keep doing what you do and you got a partner who's helping you do it and Khloe Drew who's going to see you through it thank you K thank you so much for being here and y'all Kiki finds her
