Japan's STINKY Ramen | Kumamoto, JP

our story starts on a bullet train to Kumamoto fun fact the bullet train was invented in 1964 and is a high-speed train that provided plenty of legroom for my shoes which were invented in 2018. it's only a short ride at 298 kilometers or 185 Freedom Units per hour but I decided it was time to go to the toilet this is probably the only place on YouTube where you get to see the inside of a bullet train toilet we'll do this for you the inside is cramped with several facilities and complete with a little chair so your baby can watch you do do on my way back to my seat I realized that this train has a vending machine inside of it although the price has been marked up you can get things like water Juice coffee and tea considering I just flushed my previous tee I don't need a new one as I peered out the window I watched this concrete wall that obstructed my view of the beautiful Japanese Countryside before I knew it I was finally in Kumamoto Kumamoto is known for its gorgeous mountains and beautiful Naturescapes and and now we're back to staring at a wall again is this wall really worth the safety I say we take it down and replace it with a glass Minecraft blocks this isn't what I would call the middle of nowhere but it's definitely different from the Towering skyscrapers of Tokyo they get so much attention believe it or not outside of the robot and Cat cafes there's a whole country with real people living in it okay that was mean I'm sorry I like the cat cafes too finally it was time to disembark I was greeted by a lovely Melody that I'll let you listen to foreign put our ticket in and we escape from train jail one step closer to Ramen Kumamoto is known as the birthplace of atro Oda the creator of One Piece there's a map here that shows where you can find all the characters statues across the city unfortunately the only Ticket available was one that was way too early in the morning so the ramen Place wasn't even open yet so I decided to take a look around Kumamoto station is attached to a nice little shopping mall with a nice little water spot this is like those relaxed chill rooms in VR chat where a raccoon Aaron from Attack on Titan and Squidward are all yelling about something while soft elimination fills the room from the YouTube video Lo-Fi beats to study to that's protected on the wall too specific next I decided to take the opportunity to give you all motion sickness as I ducked and dodged through people's faces there's some food here though kumamon is the name of this little black bear and he's the mascot of Kumamoto actually he's not just some mascot he's the most recognized mascot in all of Japan I'll admit I bought a shirt the time was drawing near so I followed my nose to the smelly smell that smells smelly for being so early this place was decently packed a testament to its smelly yet sensual Ramen this is 10 guy 10 in Kumamoto station a garlic specialty Ramen Shop this place only has two bowls of ramen spicy and not spicy that's it I went for non-spicy today because I wanted to get punched in the face with garlic instead of a spice First Impressions the place reeked of garlic but that's to be expected the menu feature to work on Modern Art a farting clove of garlic honestly I'd rank it right up there with the birth of Venus I hadn't eaten all day so I decided to grab a side of goza and some rice as well this place is known for their garlic powder on top of their Ramen I mean look at that it's beautiful hidden under that Sahara of garlic powder is a super deep pork soup now this wasn't like normal garlic powder it was more like dried garlic that was shaved and the noodles were the straight thin type which is commonly found in this part of Japan the grilled pork was also incredible all joking aside this was a delicious bowl of ramen probably one of the best that I've had so far the only issue is myself and every single person in there probably left that smelling like SpongeBob did in that one episode why do I keep referencing SpongeBob it wasn't funny the first time it's not funny the second time just stop doing it it's literally not fun then I went to go see a hole in the wall but this isn't just any hole this is damage from the 2016 earthquakes that struck Kumamoto and this isn't just any wall it's the wall the Kumamoto Castle a castle originally built in 1607 by a nice feudal Lord by the name of Kato kiyomasa he may not have been nice who knows Kumamoto Castle's walls were actually known for being unscalable by both Samurai and heavy armor but also Nimble ninja and this is due to the unique design that gets steeper the further you go up but I managed to scale it no problem by using the convenient staircase on the inside and it provided a beautiful overview of the city with a belly full of historical facts and The Cloud of garlic looming over my head the sunset and it was time for me to go home so I went back to the beautiful Kumamoto station it's crazy to me how some stations in Japan are way better than some full-blown malls in America get it together so I went through the ticket gate giant hit sorry that was insensitive but I don't want to change the script I prepared myself for my second sentence in train jail it wasn't too particularly late so it's kind of weird to see the train platform this vacant I guess everyone could smell me and they decided to change their itinerary here comes my prison this long train this very long train this Rolling Stock 800 series and 707 000 series and 708 000 series track gauge 1435 millimeters electrification 25 KV AC what does this even this time the train was empty so I had the whole train to myself to do all sorts of activities I invited a person from two train cars over to battle Beyblades with me but they didn't seem very interested finally I'm home overall it was a great trip I learned a lot of things about all sorts of things and I hope you did too I hope to see you all again on the next episode
