[Music] so this is a bnb and our room is very simple but we knew that and this is not about luxury at all this is about the experience we think if you watched the 1995 adaptation you might recognize this closet because mr collins so this is hansford parsnidge in pride and prejudice mr collins was quite proud wasn't he yeah when he showed lizzy around and said so this is the closet and he said there were shelves inside of the closet behind and he shot well this one has left and he was so proud he said katherine the berg planned it hustling yeah he said i have to be shelves in it yeah so that's the famous closet which helps what now so because this is an old rectory we have the church next to it with very old tombstones very very english this is mr darcy mr darcy no i'm waiting for your first marriage proposal okay because you will say no anyway i know so there's no point no no point in asking lizzy says no but this is the very room that mr darcy asked for lizzy's hand for the first time and she refused him and you know what's really interesting the wallpaper is still there it's a nice wallpaper almost from the earliest moments of our acquaintance i have come to feel for you a passionate admiration and regard which despite all my struggles has overcome every rational objection and i beg you most fervently to relieve my suffering and consent to be my wife in such cases as these i believe the establishment is to express a sense of obligation but i cannot so if you stay here as a guest you can use this drawing room and have a tea read a book or play a game and i think like when they filmed here so they've redecorated this room as well and the owners kept the wallpaper and mr darcy and lizzie had the scene here they couldn't film it together because the room is quite small yeah and they had because they had to use two cameras and all the crew yes but we have to say foreign yeah this is the perfect size yeah we would have liked to have that as a living room absolutely yeah i think when lizzie was in this room they had a table over there by the window i think mr collins tends the gardens himself and spends a good part of every day in them and if you haven't watched it do watch it because it's so good and as you can see it's not a small room at all it's quite big and this filled in cupboard is in the series as well victoria the owner has a book here in the drawing room when they film freud and bridget is here so that's the hall and in reality it's a dining room isn't it yeah yeah the drawing room you can see yes yes this hasn't weather the mirror changed and the furniture but apart from everything else and here is lizzy's room now you can see the bed yeah you were right the position of the bed yeah yeah this is so interesting but um the dining room is you know what we have to ask which room that is here which one is actually the one and only mr darcy call in first [Music] and this is the room where we will have breakfast and that was used as the whole in pride and prejudice so this room was used as a dining room in hansford parsonage when lizzy came to visit but it's a victorious sitting room and she said it's still the wallpaper that the bbc put up there house is from 1740 so it's georgian really old and the back of the house is even older [Applause] yes frankly do you want to come into the garden with us come on come on hey so the garden is quite big and they even have a tennis court this is the friendliest little dog but you know what we don't know your name only the other dog is called jaco but we don't know your name and you're so so sweet did you see these blooms they are lovely i love them yuck you know what we should do we should go to the church or to the church yard at least and have a look [Music] [Applause] [Music] a beautiful good morning from belton house guten morgen joke and i left tea or directory this morning and just to explain it once more tea all rectory was used as a filming location for the 1995 frightened prejudice adaptation it was the home of mr collins yes mr collins and charlotte lookers and where lizzy came to visit yeah and the church right next to the parsonage is really really cute and belton house was used as rosings yeah so the house of missus no lady catherine the book lady catherine the berg yes and belton house has a church right next to it as well and we read that tea or rectory was used because the churches are very similar yes the churches are similar and yeah it just makes sense yeah and what we will do you can't see the church right now but we will film it for you and then compare it yeah if it's true and just have a look at the house it's so pretty isn't it yes it's a special yeah it's a really old style english country house and you know the funny thing is it really it somehow reminds me of france yes but it's probably because it's late 17th century yeah it's really beautiful just have a look so this is a national trust property and we're going to have a walk around and just to give you an idea about the proximity of the houses to tea or rectory it's really really good so it took us about 25 minutes to drive to belton house and burley house is about a 15 minute drive to tea or rectory so that's really really good and just one more thing about tea or directory the house is gorgeous but it's not a luxury bed and breakfast by any means victoria the owner is an elderly lady she is so so kind and it's a wonderful experience it's a bit of a shame that lizzie's room or i think she has three rooms in total it would be amazing if they would be styled in a bit of a jane austen vibe if you know what i mean they aren't they are very simple and most of it is modern furniture apart from the curtains they are old-fashioned they are lovely we met lovely people there at the lovely chad say so when lizzy comes to rosings with mr collins and charlotte this is not where they walked along i think it must have been from the other side yeah the formal garden so we need to check that out [Music] good [Music] there are 64 in all 64 and i have it on good authority that the glazing alone originally cost in excess of 600 pounds it's a very handsome building now this is what jane austen describes in pride and prejudice as a handsome house yeah it's a nice cozy country house it's not too big i think yeah i think that's what she says [Music] and here's the church it looks a bit similar yeah it's got the same size i think this one this part isn't the same but the size is similar yeah the tower is the same yeah it looks very similar same height so it makes sense unfortunately it's closed so we can't go into the church yard but you get an idea and here's the orange ray and i think we can have a look around there as well [Music] so [Music] time for a break time for a kitkat i was going to say what have you got there let me see because i don't know is it a cornish pasty so this is a filling because some people don't know is it potato and beef yes yeah and here ordered a gluten-free sandwich for me which is egg mayonnaise and watercress watercress looks good looks good yeah yeah this is just regular crust i would say [Music] you are mistaken mr darcy the mode of your declaration merely spared me the concern i might have felt in refusing you darcy you run well i'm very well thank you but i have a pressing match of business you'll forgive me make my apologies to lady catherine fitz with him [Music] [Music] we're excessively sorry to go but so they always are the dear colonel rallied his spirits tolerably but darcy seemed to feel it most acutely his attachment to rosings certainly increases we just saw some of the rooms downstairs that are open to visitors yeah and i believe some of them were used for film pride catchers yeah this style is well used what they described as just a country house style yeah it's quite heavy lots of gold different than georgian of course it's not i don't think it's a lot of gold you just think to you just like the colorful georgian style i do this isn't colorful georgian style this is a normal british country household but you know what i really love the the pictures in the dining room the huge pictures yeah they were nice yeah with all the birds on it yeah and now looking into that direction we are walking to a folly which is called belmont yeah because there's a park with a lot of follies the park is so nice to have a picnic we should do that when we come back yeah it's lovely can you see the folly this is called bell mound tower and we think we can't even go there so there's a fence and we don't really know seems that we can't go there which is fine this park is so big a lot bigger than expected and you can walk around and it's great [Music] this was our jane austen special and we hope you enjoyed it yeah i never leave there are more to come yeah we definitely planned one for winter but maybe we're lucky and can squeeze in more in between let's see but first we're gonna head to scotland next week yes and yeah we will be filming lots of course yes and i'm really looking forward to it and please keep your fingers crossed for dry weather we we don't need hot weather but dry wouldn't be great dry would be great yeah it's easier to film and well i enjoyed this tour so much it was really special yeah it was nice yeah and we're heading home now and as always we'll see you again very soon stay safe yes and take care of yourself take care until next time bye bye
