and we're glad that you're here uh today if you are uh have your phone nearby like i did just a moment ago some people probably looking at me like what is the pastor doing on his phone during the worship service well sometimes i forget to share all of this blessing with people who are watching us online and so if you have your facebook open you click the share button that would just go all over your social media posts and that would be great so if you want to do that don't check on any scores there are no scores to check on i don't think so do that for us that would be great so we have some great news from yesterday we're just praising the lord we're having another a granddaughter we're having a baby girl so we praise the lord for that and we gotta maybe have a picture coming up here it's one of my favorite pictures we took yesterday is we did the the gender reveal look at there yeah that's pink by the way it's not blue so that's a baby that's our daughter-in-law danielle on the left and that's layton there on the right and there they are praise the lord so we've got another granddaughter man excited isabella that's her name so we'll call her bella probably um you know i just got to share something with you all i mean we've been praying on wednesday nights for miracles um and we had two miracles happen wednesday night and i just i just got to share this with you uh because it's one of those things where you know you ask god for for things and then god does it and then sometimes you know you're maybe maybe forget or maybe a little reticent to just give god the praise and the glory but you know literally wednesday had an opportunity to lead a young man to christ he prayed he was broken at the bottom he just said i'm ready to give my life to the lord so he was saved will be baptized soon by the way that's the greatest miracle of all right that we've been praying as a church we've been praying for god to save people to baptize a hundred people this year and so we praise the lord for tim giving his life to the lord also a young lady had man just had a series of things that just happened some tough events in her life and and i was emailing her on wednesday and i said why don't you come to prayer meeting we'll be meeting at 6 30 and and and she showed up and i'd be honest with you i was a little surprised because i was just thinking i know where she was she was in a tough way like some of you today you're in a tough way and it is just borders on the miraculous that you're here today and can i just say god bless you we're so glad that you're here so glad that you're watching us online and i'm telling you god did a miracle in her life he absolutely pointedly answered the prayer that we were praying that day right here at the altar it's about 7 30 on wednesday night my wife ashley was able to pray with her and she went on social media yesterday and just went off you know in a good way off you know just praising so y'all what do y'all do on wednesday nights i maybe i need to get in on some of this miracle stuff so don't come if you don't want a miracle that's that's all i say just stay home and and don't come don't take the effort to get here on wednesday night if you just say well i brother danny i'm miracled out you know i just don't need any more miracles everything is just fine look we do not pray that ut wins i'm sorry that's not that's not the miracles that we're praying for we're praying that god does works in your marriages in your life and your finances in your family in your church so i'm excited y'all tell them excited about wednesday night i pray all day i fast all day and i come excited for wednesday night prayer meeting i know it's kind of old-fashioned but look the more i i understand the lord and his word god he really doesn't do anything until we pray and then when we pray look out because that's where god works so we're glad glad delighted that you're here today we're going to jump right into the word of god if you have your bible love for you to open it up to acts chapter 16. i want to read a lengthy passage of scripture to you i just got to read it all 25 through 40. and we're picking back up on church on the move that's the title of our series that we started i think it was started in 1892 or something i can't remember it's been a long time and we've started that was january of 2018 i believe it was that we started uh 19 january 2019 that we started preaching to the book of acts and we're about halfway there now i don't want you to forget about our blessed series that we just finished bless we begin with prayer praying praying praying listening to people right eating engaging with people serving people and sharing the good news of the gospel with people so let's keep that before us and we'll keep praying about that on wednesday nights and try to remind you on sunday mornings that that's going to be a big part of our church from to i'm sorry i just i know it was rough i'm sorry um it's just the sound of life though right the sound of grandbabies just makes me happy did i tell you i was having another grandbaby just make sure everybody knew and this would be number three one number three three girls amen take up an offering for those parents right these weddings amen amen that's awesome so we're gonna begin in acts 16 love this passage of scripture verses 25 through 40. father we love you we just absolutely totally just depended upon you today god thank you for each person that is here today i pray the blessings of heaven on them i i'm just asking you lord as we were talking earlier praying and surely lord there are some if not many that are hurt god just struggling it's the deep it's deep lord the hurt the cut the bruise i just pray for your bomb lord your healing the dew god what only you can do lord there's confusion today there's a lot of hurt confusion i know lord just yesterday really for the last few days god my heart just just thinks back to 20 years ago and i just think about our nation god and where we are and what we've come through and in 9 11 and just now this renewed possibilities of of of attacks and terrorism and so lord i know our hearts are heavy and there's a lot of things on our minds today but god i really i just want you to take precedence lord priority i i want us to make sure our focus is on king jesus and the word of god and the power of the holy spirit so we we're praying with hearts that are concerned obviously lord but also the hearts that are anticipating anticipating the return of the king thank you jesus that you are in control that you're coming again and we hasten that day we look forward to that day but until that day lord we want to be found faithful preaching the word of god loving people making disciples praying and so lord now speak to us through your word god your word is awesome it's life it's alive it breathes we pray that you just speak and do god what only you can do right here right now in jesus name we pray amen so acts chapter 16 around 80 51 paul and silas are on their missionary journey they come to this city called philippi and god's already done amazing things in philippi he has saved a lady named lydia cast out a demon python demon of a slave girl and now she's given her life to christ and now the the disciples are arrested and they're thrown into a philippian jail and man at midnight paul and silas are praying and calling out to god and let me pick up the text to you in verse 25. all ready there it is but at midnight paul and silas were praying and singing hymns to god and the prisoners were listening to them suddenly there was a great and the greek word literally is seismos does that sound familiar the seismology the study of what hurricanes and earthquakes that's right you're listening amen so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and immediately all the doors were open and everybody's chains were loosed and the keeper of the prison awakening from sleep and seeing the prison doors open supposing the prisoners had fled he drew his sword and he was about to kill himself i love this part right here let me see it it says but paul but paul called out with a loud voice saying do yourself no harm because we are all here then he called for a light he ran in they're talking about the philippian jailer he fell down trembling before paul and silas and he and he brought them out and he said sirs what must i do to be saved so they said believe pistuo is the greek word it means to not just believe with an intellectual ascent like yeah i believe today is sunday yeah i believe i'm going to eat lunch here in just a minute no this is a belief unto commitment i believe with my heart with my mind my volition my will with all that i am i believe in what you've been praying about what you've been preaching what you've been singing i believe that jesus christ is lord and they said you believe that and you will be saved you and your household and they spoke the word of the lord to him now we're going to come back to this in just a moment i love this passage of scripture we might be tempted to read verse 32 kind of quickly that oh paul and silas they're in the prison and they they got out of prison and they went to the jailer's home and they they spoke the word of the lord to him what does that mean what does it mean for a pastor a preacher an apostle a missionary to speak the word of god to somebody and not only to the philippian jailer but to everybody who was in his house they preached to him okay come come come okay verse 33 there it is and he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and immediately he and all of his family were what church they were baptized now when he had brought them into his house he set food before them and he rejoiced and gallow he he means to jump up and down to be exuberant to be demonstrably moved with joy he believed in god with all of his household and when it was day the magistrates sent the officers saying let's let these men go let them out of prison little did they know they'd already been out of prison gone home to philippian jailer's house now they're back in prison but anyhow the keeper of the prison reported these words to paul and he said the magistrates the two primary leaders in the city of philippi the colony there of rome they have sent to let you go now therefore go depart go in peace but paul said to them they have beaten us openly uncondemned romans and they've thrown us into prison and now they well they put us out secretly no indeed let them come themselves and get us out i tell you paul he's bold right he has still backbone in him and the officers told these words to the magistrates and they were afraid when they heard that they were romans then they came they broke protocol the magistrates in verse 39 they didn't send the lectors or the officials they came when they heard that they had beaten uncondemned romans and the reason why church this was such a big deal is because if paul a roman citizen if he found a way to report them they could lose their coveted positions they could possibly be fined and remember rome has granted them this colonization and so there's a lot at stake here so they didn't send the delegates the magistrates themselves go to paul and say oh we're we're so sorry but please leave they came pleaded with them peracaleo a lot of times we translate that word uh encouraged but in this sense of the word they are encouraging them please don't basically don't report us but but they brought them out and they asked them please leave our city so they went out of the prison entered the house of lydia y'all remember her the first european convert was baptized now they have a whole house church isn't that cool they're meeting and so paul when he gets out of prison he goes to lydia's home where they have a house church and when they had seen the brethren watch this they pericle owed them same word totally different context they encouraged the brothers and the sisters there at the church of philippi and then they departed i love this passage of scripture we preached last time goodness that was that would be july the 18th the last time we preached on the book of acts and so but i wanted to read the entire text its context to you beginning in verse 25 through 40. and there's just so much here that i'm just so my heart is just so full i've got like seven pages of notes and i know if i do that that'll be like two o'clock right we'll get out of here by about two and then we'll have to run over to our our new church plant up at santa rita ranch and so we'll just run out of time so i'll just keep you for an hour how about that is that good some of you are like oh my word so no we we've abridged we've redacted it we've cut it in about in half so that we don't just go so long i love this passage and part of it is just because i love passionate people and you can't read this passage of scripture without just seeing the the enthusiasm the passion the the drive if you will of the apostle paul and his sidekick silas i mean these guys have been imprisoned they've been beaten they've been unceremoniously you know just thrown into a philippian dungeon and the bible says there they are praising the lord last time we looked at this part we talked about what a story and this is a story it's a it's a dynamic story a narrative that is filled with amazing things like a great plot great characters tremendous conflict amazing resolution and what's so cool about this story in acts chapter 16 is it's all true it all really happened in real time real place real history real characters real men of god and a real god that delivered them and acted in such a powerful way that's one i mean when i say what a story number two is what a savior in verses 29 through 31 that's what we talked about a few weeks ago is really the focus is on jesus and how if they believe in him and if they trust in him that the philippian jailer can be saved it doesn't say it but i'm going to use my sanctified imagination and i just believe that the philippian jailer's not the only one that got saved that day we all we also know that everybody in his house came to faith in christ how many of you all think that the the the people in the jail probably gave their hearts to christ too i do because nobody left i mean the earthquake is shaken the prison doors are open but nobody leaves they're just hanging out with paul in silas passion i love people of passion now he's probably the greatest coach to ever coach college football and it hurts me to say his name because i'm just nick saban right i mean he i know i see those hands i know he's and she said roll tide okay let's wrap it up let's go home all right and you know the more i study this guy will be 70 next next month right um i was listening to him and whenever i do i get a chance i like listening cause i like learning from the best i mean he's the best ever i mean how many eight championships are they won like 100 championships but in this interview he he kind of let the secret of his success out when he was telling people basically what what makes the university of alabama so great and there's three things he said number one we don't just win we dominate he said we dominate our competition and we train our young men that we're not just going to go out and win we're going to dominate and he said when he coached for bill belichick who also knows a little bit about domination and winning championships he said we had a motto and the motto was this do your job do your job everybody has a job do your job and dominate and then the third thing he said he just basically just sharing the secret with anybody that would listen he said we have a process and the process goes like this we get the best coaches we get the greatest athletes we coach them up to where they need to be and then we win and we just keep on winning and when you look at nick saban i mean there he is and he's just so passionate and i was thinking oh god what if we had people like that in our churches that said lord we don't want to just win we want to dominate the evil one we want to win god we want to see the kingdom of heaven take ground from satan i mean go into the city of austin and preach the word of god and see people bow their hearts and bow their knees and watch the kingdom of darkness be removed and the kingdom of light come on in as everybody in the church and we yeah praise the lord we we do our job you know that's what he said we do our job i want to do my job not to win a football championship but to win souls to christ and he said we have a process and we have a process and the process is really simple make disciples who make more disciples pray pray pray pray i'm sitting here at two o'clock on wednesday oh and uh and i'm praying true story and i'm going over my notes i mean i'm serious studying like it's a message on wednesday night and praying and fasting god bring revival to great hills baptist church lord god do something so amazing god some baptize a hundred people here in 2021 and i think we've baptized like 20. my math's not really good but it tells me we got a long way to go you know 80 people to get baptized and i'm sitting here and i'm reading my notes and i'm praying and a gentleman walks up to me at two o'clock in the sanctuary and he says preacher pastor and i went by scare me to death there's nobody in the house but me and the lord and there's a guy standing here saying would you pray for me i'm at the bottom i'm ready to give my life to christ he prays to receive christ at two o'clock 2 30 on wednesday afternoon the miracle that i was praying for not this is not cool and i was like god only god could do do that and so that's just what i'm praying for what i'm telling you and i see his passion these people have passion i'm like oh god what if we had that kind of passion here in our church like paul and silas had here in our in our text today all right so acts chapter 16. um i like what um one writer kent hughes in his uh book the church of fire so good he writes in acts chapter 16 you've got the rich and the poor you have the slave and the free the male and the female they're all one in christ at the church there in philippi the flag of the gospel was unfurled on a continent that needed it so desperately and this first church here at philippi the first church european church ten years later paul's so moved by all the good things that god has done and doing he sits down he writes what what does he write the book called you got it starts with philip what is it philippians wrote a whole book called philippians a lot about joy and the jailer here he is he's imminent suicide he goes from imminent suicide to liberating salvation there's so much here in this story and it tells me that nobody is outside the long reach of the arm of the grace of god i mean this guy's about to take his life right and he has already unceremoniously cast these preachers into prison who are they i don't know i don't really care and the next thing you know god is shaking the place and the man's heart is open wide to the good news of the gospel and he's and he's saved and and i know he's really saved because the first thing he wants to do after he meets christ is he wants to serve did y'all catch that after he gives his life to christ there he is washing the the stripes of the apostles of the disciples and then he prepares breakfast for them and then he goes guys we better get back to prison because they're gonna come looking for y'all and i got to get you out of my house but hey before you leave and they get baptized i mean there's like revival i mean things are happening here in this chapter as i read it i just long for those same things to happen here and paul writes these words he says let this mind be in you as he writes to the church at philippi which was also in christ jesus who being in the form the morphe of god did not consider it robbery to be equal with god but made himself of no reputation he took the form of a dulos a slave really bond servant talking about jesus and he came in the likeness of men i think we're most like christ when we are serving others i really do and i see this man just yielded to the lord i see him serving the apostles i thought about our church daniel thought about your message you preached a few weeks ago about serve and what does that look like in a local church context when people use their spiritual gifts and they they begin to do things tangible things like teaching and singing or giving or greeting or a myriad of things that we do in the local church and and just see it all to come together i just praise the lord for this y'all i was recounting in my mind just the just names of people were popping up in my head as i was seeing their their service and a lot of people serve in a way that we we never really see you know we see do y'all catch th we don't even know this guy's name did y'all see that philippian what jailor we don't even know his name maybe some of you feel like that you know when people don't know my name i think god knows your name and god sees and and god god is just he's he's awesome and he's and he's working and he's well so here it is a.d 51. um what a story what a savior okay here we go number three is what a service and verses 32-34 is the worship service that they're about to have in this jailer's house now it came in verse well my pages are all flipped over there it is verse 32 and they spoke the word of the lord to him and to everybody who was in the house so this is the service so i want to share with you what i think paul and silas preached that day in the philippian jailer's house and it goes something like this it's called the charimatic preaching of the apostles whenever you find the apostles and when they are in the book of acts they they basically share this the same sermon and the sermon goes like this now listen to it as if you've never heard it before listen to it as if you're a roman philippian jailer who've seen a miracle of god and and these these men are are sharing with him this this message in his house and it goes something like this jesus christ uh is the fulfillment of the old testament prophecy and that's how they would begin they would say jesus christ is the messiah he is the one prophesied foretold of old and he was born of the virgin mary and he lived a beautiful life he lived a a sinless spotless life and maybe some of you are here this for the very first time right that jesus christ who was predicted in the old testament prophecies he was born of the virgin mary he lived a perfect life for 30 years he he just probably worked as a carpenter and uh anonymity and not many people really knew knew him he's in this small little city of nazareth but i'm telling you when god the father says it's time it's time and jesus steps out into the ministry that the father had called him to be engaged in he is baptized the holy spirit of god comes comes upon him remember that you've got the trinity the father the son the holy spirit and then boo man jesus goes out he starts preaching and he starts raising people from the dead and he starts touching lepers and he and he starts doing amazing feeding thousands of people and this jesus christ was crucified on a cross and he was buried and paul and silas said philippian jailer guess what happened to him you think that earthquake was something let me tell you what happened in jerusalem a few years ago the son of god came out from the grave he's alive and we know he's alive because look what he's doing he's shaking the earth he's alive and he's moving in power repent and believe in him because he's coming again that was the same sermon they preached the same sermon all the time i wonder if we heard more preaching sermons like that if we would be in the mess that we're in in america today i think this is what we need more than anything we need to hear about a savior on a bloody cross who was crucified and arose from the dead and can give us life that's the gospel and it never loses its power and that's what in verse 32 paul and silas are preaching and then they had their wounds tended to this is all in the context of the worship service they're having in the philippian jailer's home and that part really grabbed me we got a lot of preachers in the room um this just grabbed my heart that before paul and silas were asking for anything more than anything they wanted to preach the gospel so many times pastors and people called into the ministry let me look at the financial package let me look at the benefits let me look at what's in it for me and i'm saying god did he call you did he tell you to go say go don't worry about anything else just go and give your life and preach the gospel and let god take care of us let let god take care of the finances and those things i'd say paul and silas they're preaching the word of god and then it's almost like oh dude we're bleeding you know we're bleeding back there and the philippian jailer's like yeah we we need to we need to take care of that and so then they have their their wounds tended to washes the stripes and the backs of the preachers large raw bone jailer a few hours before had thrown them into prison and he loves these preachers he loves these pastors he's going to feed them and take care of now what i'm about to say next it's kind of strange because i am one i are one you know i'm a pastor and i'm about to tell you how you're supposed to treat pastors does anybody else want to come up here and do this part of the message you know anybody want to come do it okay then i'll do it i'll tell you whoever is standing here it doesn't matter who it is if god gives me another day here or another year here or whatever god gives me here whoever is the pastor and the servant leaders of this church your responsibility is to love them pray for them care for them take care of them so they don't have to worry about those things okay there's a guy in our church in arkansas and he him and his family were visiting the church and you never know when people visit the church you know it's almost like you friend or foe you know are you are you here because you love jesus and you want to be a part of this church or you come with an agenda you know you come with something you know and this guy says well let me just tell you something i was like okay he said my dad was a pastor and he said and i'm pro-pastor i was like god bless you come on in you know come on in just want to hug him pro but we have people like that in our church dallas hendricks is like that dallas is a retired businessman lives up in the santa rita liberty hill area his dad was a was a music minister and he has a soft heart he has a place in his heart for pastors to help pastors and encourage pastors my friend endel lee who has preached here before the retired admiral rear admiral the chaplain when he was in afghanistan with the i don't know if i can say this publicly maybe i'm talking out of turn but anyhow let me just say it like this he was with some some dudes i mean some dudes and uh highly trained men and they had a chaplain and it was him and he went in with them can y'all think of the most elite of the elite if you are y'all tracking with me of who these people are with the navy all right and he goes in and the guy he talks to he doesn't know him he's about to get killed adam brown will die he can read his book fearless and endle is his this chaplain and he walks in in afghanistan and he goes in to see adam and and adam says preacher you take my spot and adam's the leader of the team and pre and andel says no no i i can't take your spot i'm just i'm just the chaplain he said nope i'm going to go out i'm going to leave this bunk i'm going to leave this room and i'm going to go out and be with the guys because my parents told me in arkansas you give the best to your preacher and so they did 38 years of age this guy goes in to a firefight and dies well i can tell you it's a seal still team six because it's public knowledge it's in his book fearless so i see this raw bone strong philippian jailer and there he is ministering to these pastors to these preachers and then the gospel is preached what a worship service he gets saved all of his family gets saved some people argue from this passage of scripture many catholics this is why they believe in infant baptism you say what because everybody in his house got saved and baptized and they make the assumption that there must have been some infants in the room so they make the argument from silence that that's why infant baptism is okay because they did it in acts chapter 16. i know that's playing gymnastics with hermeneutics and scripture it doesn't say that but they they glean that it's verse 34 the events of washing the wounds and baptism i think all this happens outside the the home and then they come back into the home he provides breakfast for them and then look what the text says it says there in verse 35 it says and he was rejoicing and exceedingly glad that's just so true the people that seem to be the happiest are the people who have met the lord have been changed by the power of the gospel and they are satisfied and here it is this guy we don't even know his name here's this philippian jailer and he brings these guys into his home and he and he won't he cleans their wounds and he he bows his heart he gives his life to jesus christ his whole family are saved and baptized and then he has the wherewithal to take the the preachers back to the prison because he knows the magistrates will come come looking for them uh the next the next day and so that's what i call what a what a service what a what a worship service and and this is this is the part i've been really praying for for our church i've been praying and asking god that god would you infuse a a spirit of joy in great hills baptist church so that when we come i mean look at it the bible says that and he was aligalo he was he was just he was so elated he was just almost like viscerally bodily moved with joy like he's like jumping up and can y'all see this big this big guy he ain't no little guy like me he's he's the jailer do you ever notice a preacher i mean the the policemen that walk around this campus they're like eight feet tall they're big large and in charge i'm good with that by the way gary i'll tell you what i want those guys hanging out with me you know and so i just see this big old guy and he's just he's giving his heart to the lord and i see him do something like this like praise god i got saved i gave my life to the lord and all my family got got saved and i just see him just just just jumping with joy and i'm just like lord i'm praying and that's what we've a bunch of us have been praying then on sunday morning when we come into grade hills baptist church that as soon as that beat hits terry what do you call it the downbeat that beat drops it's just like the spirit of god that's what i'm praying for on wednesday nights i'm just pleading with god oh god when we come together on sundays may there just be this palpable sense of joy so i've got like a bunch of other pages but i'm not i'm not gonna go there i'm gonna i'm gonna stop and i want us just to think about what we've heard so far this morning about and i wonder how the spirit of god has spoken to to y'all today and you online and with me up here and how the spirit of god's speaking to me and encouraging me and challenging me about service about taking care of people who take care of us about maybe seeing our whole families come to faith in christ about the spirit of god moving where there's a palpable sense of joy and i just think again church family i just think all of this is rooted uh as we as we pray and we we are we're we're still seeing about 300 people join us on wednesday night for prayer y'all may not think that's a lot of people that's a lot of people for prayer now about 200 of them are online and it's the funniest thing i i just still baffles me that 200 people are joining us all over the nation praying for grade hills baptist church and sending in their prayer requests we actually have a section in the service where my son layton he comes and he just reads in real time reads the prayer request as they're coming in and we're just praying asking god for miracles to do mighty things and we're beginning to to see them so if you bow your heads with me and close your eyes i'll just lead us in a time more prayer and more invitation as we open up the altar here and jeff and team can come and lead us let's think about acts chapter 16 man what a story isn't it is it not amazing story it's riveting it's a powerful narrative and what a savior jesus i mean he's there he's saving people and what a worship service you've got the preaching of the word of god by paul and silas i the text doesn't say it but i would not be surprised at all if there's more singing in the jailer's home and i was thinking if paul and silas could sing praise to god in prison they probably could sing praise to god when they're free and in the jailer's home and then they they serve one another they wash the wounds they prepare a meal and then they get them back probably right at sunrise probably stayed up all night and they're that philippian jailers he's changed for eternity he's changed and i just i just would love to ask you and the spirit of god be my witness and my testimony how has god spoke to you today through his word through this narrative through this moving story preserved for us by the holy spirit in the word of god i wonder how god is speaking to you is he saying anything to you is he saying yes today is your day like it was for the day of the jailer and like his family and do you give your heart to christ today you believe pasturo you you say lord i'm and i'm at the bottom i i there's really nothing else i can do i i just need you and i'm trusting you to be my savior and my lord so i invite you to do that today whether you're online or maybe you're one of the i don't know how many people are watching this service online in real time and so we invite you right here right now that this same gospel that was preached by paul and silas is the same gospel that i'm preaching today and there are far greater preachers than me in this world but nobody will ever preach a greater gospel than me because this is the gospel and i invite you to give your life to christ today to repent to believe he said well real men don't do that kind of stuff dude i'm telling you this philippian jailer is is the deal okay he is the deal and he's broken before god and he surrenders his life to jesus so i'm inviting you to do that today right here right now in the midst of chaos in the midst of craziness going on in your life or maybe even in the life of your family surely it's going on in the life of our nation so why don't you give your heart to christ today in others of you the lord speaking to you about service i mean it's like the holy spirit just keeps beating this drum in your heart and saying look i've given you these gifts i've given you these abilities use them use them for the service of king jesus at great hills baptist church get involved get plugged in get get moving who knows how much more time we have it's so cool what the lord is doing i'm still seeing god call people to the ministry out of our church next week next sunday afternoon we get to ordain one of our great men in our church available catterville's surrendering to the gospel ministry we're gonna we're gonna ordain him that's gonna be such a cool thing him and vicki are surrendered to the lord to serve thank you lord oh goodness come on come on is god asking you to do that is the spirit of god drawing you to himself to surrender your life to the lordship of christ in a way that you would serve him vocationally in a church some of you your heads are bowed but your minds are thinking dude there ain't no way that i would ever do anything what you're doing that is just impossible to do that no with men it's impossible with god all things are possible i wonder who god is calling out to the ministry today wouldn't that be awesome you tell us so we can encourage you and equip you and and get you on the path of where you need to be serving the lord father we thank you for your word we thank you for this narrative we thank you god for great hills baptist church we thank you lord for what you're doing in our midst and i'm just going to ask you spirit of the living god that you would do something right here right now i pray god there'd be joy i pray lord there wouldn't be sadness i i pray that people would lift up their eyes and they would see that god you are god you're in control and that there would be lord just a movement a sweet movement of the holy spirit and there would be salvation and there would be a commitment and surrender and there would be this this renewed zeal to serve i'm just going to ask you right here right now just pray with me say lord speak to me lord what do you want me to do so it's quiet nobody moving around holy spirit of god just resting upon some of you just speaking to you drawing you to himself drawing you to revival drawing you to a place of repentance and surrender maybe there's this huge block in your life and you know what it is and it's like the spirit of god says well we're not going any further till you deal with this will you deal with this today [Music] some of you are holding bitterness in your heart and resentment and being offended and god's like well i can't work in that so i need you to surrender that and i need you to forgive i need you to let go of that and say okay god i'm giving that over and i choose to forgive him and choose to forgive her and some of you god wants to bless you financially but he can't trust you he knows if he blesses you financially you're not going to tithe you're not going to give so god says i'll just withhold that i don't know about you church family but i don't want the lord holding out on me on anything i want to be in a vessel that god blesses and in turn i just be a blessing to tithe to give offerings and so maybe you're here today and you just say spirit of god forgive me of my sin of hoarding of being disobedient and not giving not not giving you lord what is what you've asked me to give some of you sitting here today and spirit of god speaking to you and you you want to do you want to do big things for god so that people will know who you are but you won't do little things for god so god's ignoring you i wonder if god could trust you with the little and then he would entrust to you the much you know a lot of times church family my head's bowed and my eyes are closed and in right on the precipice on the brink of god just breaking through and doing something magnificent there there's a season there's a season of brokenness and and repentance and confession and contrition and and penitence and saying oh god work in my life oh god and i want to tell you something as i close this prayer more than anything else god wants your heart today he wants your loyalty he wants your he wants your soul he wants your heart today and father we just yield ourselves to you today like this philippian jailer god knees bowed lord his hands washing caressing these bloodied backs preparing a breakfast rejoicing with all
