JACKSON Buys His First DIRT BIKE!

I'm just heating up some oatmeal for breakfast and Jackson why are you all dressed I keep in my bed intently you did all of that no wonder you earned your money in a year to go get a dirt bike KJ's the day we're gonna go look okay what did you do to save up for a dirt bike doing jobs what kind of jobs did you do picking up my room taking your Tommy taking up the trash I'm picked each yep yes how I wanted it your bike how so I asked my mom can I see the first dirt bike and she said yes so that's how I wanted to earn it how did you not spend it you're so little I went in after a blender you had enough willpower to say huh I'm proud of you you've been saving for one full year now your six should we show on your dollars so he has saved and sometimes his chores he got one dollar sometimes you got ten dollars then we'd go to the bank and get bigger bills should we tell him how much you saved for a dirt bike and housing he saved a thousand and twelve dollars for a dirt bike I'm really proud of you okay - are you proud of yourself yeah that's your that's your cash savings in the bank account but you don't really even know it what makes me proud as a mom is one of the biggest things I want to teach my kids is the simple be kind if I can just teach my kids to be nice people I'm happy in the future I don't care what jobs they get to me kindness is the biggest thing that I want to teach my kids the other day I had asked Calvin to pick up the basement she ain't and foreclosures I get in the door oh why did you do that you did not have to give him a dollar yeah cuz he picked that do you do that to me so I'll do it to him sometimes my heart is so big and I think it's because you see that and you want to do that and help your brother well I'm really proud of Jackson in his willpower that you didn't get distracted that you kept with a goal and you worked so hard and you saved for so long every day for a year I'm not even kidding you every day he would say mom now what job can I do I would have him help me wipe the floors and now it's become a habit so this morning I hurried and grabbed the camera as fast as I could when Jackson cuz I got dressed first and brush my teeth and main birthday picked up yep and now that's a habit and I didn't pay you to do that but sometimes I paid him and so now he just does it and some days he gets paid in honestly most days he doesn't so I'm really proud of you Jackson are we gonna go look at a dirt bike today yeah okay first we got to pick up the trash can you help me take the trash out I can't pee I think we'll go look at a dirt bike today that's what you'll get no I know but we have to do our chores before we go how about I buy you a good lunch while we're out we'll make it a date yeah okay let's go take out the trash this was his idea by the way not mine we're gonna go look for a dirt bike today Jackson has been saving he's been excited he draws pictures about dirt bikes but something he doesn't know is if we find one today that we like and he buys it we will pay for half of it so that he can still have a little bit of money in his piggy bank yeah fanny pack something that Jared and I talked about way before we even had kids this was like when we were in college I remember sitting at BYU in our bed listening to Dave Ramsey and he did this with his kids and we're like we're gonna do that with our kids too it's not a car it's a dirt bike but this is what we want to do because we want them to know the value of the work but also to have the benefit of this yeah eventually if they get a car they have to save up for the full amount and then hopefully if we're a decision soon we will pay for half then they can have a little bit of money that they work so hard to save for so that is our goal and I had no idea that it would happen this soon I didn't but guys he's six years old do we want to do this right now is are you sure he's ready for the else I just don't know but it's like we can't push it anymore like he's been wanting it and thinking about it and talking about it and he earned it it's been a year yeah I'm so proud of him so we're gonna go to the dirt bike store and we're gonna look and see we're gonna price them out and then go from there okay please tell me I'm not the only one who realized how dirty that lense was don't worry I fixed that what are you excited about I'm getting it well we're looking at dirt bags right yeah maybe we'll see Jackson has come into my office probably 15 times today said can we look at the dirt bike videos on YouTube please and so I'll look up dirt bike videos but you want a specific kind what kind of video do you want to see um I wanna hear the motorcycle some no talking you don't want anyone to talk in the video you want to hear the motorcycle revs you want to hear the engine go I just want to rate your video I don't want think I'm talking about yeah do you want big kids are little kids six six year olds riding dirt bikes so Jackson has a very specific like mindset of what he wants to see on these YouTube videos so we're trying to find one that he likes so he can you know feel like he's getting the dirt bike so do you want people talking or no no no okay let's see if we can find is this kind of what you're looking for yeah yeah are you gonna be doing this that's pretty crazy these kids are really good huh whoa that was pretty amazing do you think you'll be able to do that when you get one yeah maybe whoa should we go to the store now can I be honest for a minute you're a little nervous I'm a little nervous I'm the one who's apprehensive I'm the one who's like yeah if he can save yeah we'll see you know that love the likelihood the likelihood of Jackson actually making this happen is pretty slim he proved me that's the thing is if we can be safe then I think oh we have Calvin's four-wheeler I have my four-wheeler like this can be so much fun so Jerry and I were just talking about how maybe one of us is a little more emotionally invested because I've been the one more so often saying oh you can do this and say for your dirt bike that's kind of been Jackson a nice theme this last year and so Jared's like oh we don't need to do it today I'm like no no we do if we find it we're going to get it today because Jackson is so invested in that I am so invested in it now Jackson something that you don't know that mommy and daddy have planned a surprise for you we you don't want you to spend all $1,000 okay so we want you to take 500 of your dollars and half of it and keep it in your your little piggy bank okay because mommy and daddy are so proud of all the hard work that you've done that we're going to cover okay do you want to use all your money yeah well I know but mommy and daddy are gonna help you do it so you can save for something else do you want to do that is that make you do it you do that okay I'm really proud of you we're both proud of you that didn't go maybe when he's a little older sure he's ready he doesn't understand that it's all he said none of the stores and none of the factory the factory doesn't even have it okay so I have an idea so they may not have the dirt bike here today but I think we're gonna put some money down on us so they can order it and then send it to us does that sound all right I'm sorry that means we're not gonna get it right now but hopefully today where he spent the money on it he decided he wants to go to Walmart and he wants to write one of the quarter machines and he wants to go buy a little toy and I said heck yes that's exactly what we're gonna do then so Jackson's gonna go pick out a little toy at Walmart and then it looks like we're gonna wait about a week until he gets a stir pipe one utility later today's the day what's happening bud that's right we called yesterday and they said they shipped it yesterday put it together and today crossing our fingers we are gonna go pick it up right now and put on the trailer and take it for a ride what does that sound like that yours right there is that yours right there no is that it is that it that's got to be it right there oh my those might be it right there do you think
