maybe that is a different thing entirely i think this is the most memeed game of 2020 uh 2021 so for anyone that doesn't know uh this isn't made by square enix it's made by the neo devs and for anyone that doesn't know what neo is neo is essentially dark souls with better combat and significantly worse level design let's hope the part about uh all the dramatically better uh enemy and character engagements in neo carry over into final fantasy origin stranger of paradise trial version press any button oh this is so neo it hurts uh okay this is guard oh dude the evade animation is just neo straight up yeah we've played this game before we have certainly played this game before except i'm wearing a shitty shirt right i am t-shirt man so my mp is gone i have to refill the mp it's at the bottom left so okay you essentially guard crush them give me give me i'm ready to fight some [ __ ] i want to fight some behemoths i want to fight some bombs i'm going to look for a cactuar and then the darkness so thick i can taste it for some reason it looks way worse than neo two that's the weird part right like and not really on like an animation level but just like a uh like a visual aesthetic of the game just looks way worse than neo2 oh oh stranger clothes remove it hell yeah wait let's see how long we can keep the meme run alive this game is dark hold up hold the phone okay i guess that helps out a little bit darkness so thick i can taste it i still i'm still pressing the goddamn button wait a minute what the heck's the point of npcs if they're just gonna sit there and do literally nothing what is the point of my friends if they dude yeah your ai literally does nothing whoa enhanced guard interesting splash you get this batter up attack this doesn't heal any health or anything learn abilities on the tree give me the tree ow oh oh perfect guard okay is there stamina uh no so they removed your own stamina bar your stamina bar is gone but enemies have stamina right but it's more like a block gauge as long as this doesn't have the neo loot the neo loot is the thing that i still genuinely despise about that game we can just have a more traditional looting system i'll be i'll be super happy with it if we can unlock a potential on weapons and [ __ ] like that cool [Music] okay all right um i don't know what they were thinking by not having a character creator jack will be broken when his break gage is depleted oh [ __ ] no you actually have a breakage yourself causing him to temporarily be defenseless will also decrease his max mp and remove any instant abilities of change okay angry angry man is angry i do i really like this mechanic i'm not gonna lie this like break mechanic i think is actually kind of neat the way they integrate like blue mage stuff into here you can change your battle sets by opening the battle settings menu and pressing triangle time for a change all right all right interesting choice of weaponry so hold on a second if they just gave me this and there's fire here let's do this cool actually using your spells to manipulate cactuar chain cancel there's so many mechanics i actually love it you could switch between jobs on the fly press triangle to immediately press triangle immediately after using an action ability to activate chain cancel and switch battle sets faster than usual pushing l will allow you to move in a direction you choose at the same time used to unleash a follow-up attack team ninja knows what the [ __ ] they're doing jesus the i i can't say how much i disagree with the visual design of the game just so aggressively disagree with how the game looks but i'm really digging how the game plays [ __ ] okay it's been too much time messing around come on big big pooch oh [ __ ] that hurts uh let's do the uh the black magic that's not it [Music] mp holy [ __ ] you are pissed i am so bad trying to get these parry timings down and these enemies got these quick ass attacks and the ai's all running away yeah dang game [Music] will that guy die from that cool holy [ __ ] the fire went down exploded and hit all the what the bomb got stunned hit the ground blew up and hit all the dogs no mp still every enemy in the [ __ ] world just used blitz at the same time okay oh mage has a shield oh [ __ ] keep wrapping your head around the controls is very odd right it's definitely a souls game [Music] i just want to get this barry off but my stupid [ __ ] teammates keep making the enemy attack at the wrong direction i hate the teammates i hate him i hate him one thing that i think is genuinely bad about the game is your teammates i hate your teammates i hate them game absolutely should be uh just you alone 100 get rid of them ladders kick down ladders and shortcuts wow and here's a neo animation you guys ready for this neo animation watch them kick it three two one warm welcome nice actually pencil thrust holy [ __ ] cool already liking lancer more than greatsword thanks game who knew bats could be the biggest pain in the ass how is this possible sony i just charged it how is that how does the playstation 5 controller run out of battery in one session well that was way easier way to deal with those enemies teammates are just down again cool yep these guys are very helpful they're just making the game worse so i'm gonna uh you know give me give me a fire spell blue mage this [ __ ] now sure there were some enemies behind us but whatever i don't know where they went maybe they all died maybe all the enemies behind us died you broke all their stun meters so they stand still we got lucky lockable versus unblockable attacks oh my god literally neo animations skeleton neo animations all right okay what's funny is that this is like the prologue of the game too you know this isn't even oh jesus okay big optional fight when the [ __ ] are you going to attack me right sitting here waiting for this [ __ ] to happen oh unblockable yeah i should have paid attention oh [ __ ] [Music] dude damn it [ __ ] this stupid bird won't die that really sucks try to run away [ __ ] man this guy is just what the [ __ ] okay he seems like i got his health down way more before [ __ ] time for a chance [Music] that that startup is so long [Music] now fancy [ __ ] captain [Music] that hurts that hurts okay burt down [Music] ended up not using mad magic and it went better well i'm looking forward to a one-on-one boss fight you know i think a lot of the multi-enemy encounters in this field pretty shitty but when it comes to you fighting like a single enemy or two it's nice no i am very dramatic we're here to kill chaos the prophecy's very own warriors of light uh-huh he always wore such splendid armor with a helmet that was terrifying to behold it's garland no i have become chaos i don't think this is as cool as they think it is almost dead oh god oh god kill the teammates right kill them they're just getting in the way they're making things confusing oh god dammit it was going so well no oh wow okay take that chaos i'm gonna kick you in the face so it's almost like sakura with the life gauge right ice sword so we have to go for fire now he's switched really quick them i'm about to die holy crap i lost health from [ __ ] something so he starts switching between like all the elements kind of quick in the end oh man i'm stuck in a corner what the hell am i what the hell oh what the hell okay you have to be facing the enemy if you want perry to work crazy part about the game is that if you parry too much the game will hurt you usually getting pretty tight timing and most action games are going to give you nothing but reward but in this game you kind of get [ __ ] up for it because it raises your your guard gauge [ __ ] that man if i miss one perry i'm just dead did way too much [ __ ] damage that weird aura thing just took off half of all my health dude all the ice effects i can't see [ __ ] hate that some of the attacks just don't lock on with this system but you just whiff like the big damaging attack look at this [ __ ] that sucks okay oh [ __ ] that tracking oh my god i did the big neo dodge too i didn't maybe the lightning isn't variable maybe the lightning isn't variable piece of [ __ ] god take this [ __ ] let's go you piece of [ __ ] you piece of [ __ ] said to learn everything and perfectly parry all of it huh [ __ ] what happened what just happened did they miss choreography is a little odd [Applause] it was very anticlimactic what the hell i think there's a lot of stuff in here that can be really good i think there's a lot of [ __ ] in here that seems like it can be super cool the problem is that it's janky in the same way that neo games are janky in their demo forms before they come out donald and goofy is like the worst [ __ ] in the game and they don't do anything to help you you just use your items trying to help them and they do dick we went back to like neo1 in terms of like gameplay for some reason and visuals it looks like a playstation 4 game i feel like this game has a lot of potential but right now it comes across as sloppy neal [Music] you
