Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
This is an incredible discussion of FF7R from the guys at Easy Allies, and it features Maximilian Dood as a guest! Some of the theories (or as Max says, "levels") that they bring up are fascinating.
Upvoting for visibility. Very entertaining and thorough discussion. Only time will tell whether these thoughts come to fruition.
Significant spoilers from FFVII OG version for those new to the game.
I'm like Ben, this gave me a whole new perspective and respect for the game, I can't wait to start my hard mode playthrough. I like how much detail Max talked about that shows the writers do seem to know what they're doing. I had a rough idea of stuff from the original FF7, Advent Children, and Crisis Core, but there was tons of stuff from the compilation that I definitely would not have gotten. For example I got the Kunsel reference, but I never would've figured out the Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo connection with the whisper bosses at the end.
This also helps save me time since I've been watching all of Max's streams about FF7R, but this video will allow me to skip his one stream that was only discussing the game since I imagine this video covers many of the same points, but refined by a bit of time.
I think Max is onto something! The levels were amazing. For those that find the 2 hour barrier too much, I have some time stamps for you.

Oh i just realized there is another thread promoting this video but I"ll post the same comment anyway
Seriously, it was the best 2 and a half hours of post game processing I"ve watched so far. I recommend that everyone who has finished the game and is looking for answers to watch this.
For me, Max is definitely on point when he mentioned that the future of FF7 remake is going to amplify what we experienced rather than try to rewrite it . For example Aeriths death will still happen but it will be amplified to a very meaningful way it will be so soul-crushing when we experience it when the time comes. Think of Jessie in FF7 Remake 1. You didnt care much about her in the OG but you would have definitely felt emotional in the FF7 Remake. Now imagine doing this X 10 to Aeriths death.
AARGH the wait is so agonizing. 2 more years minimum!
at around the 45min mark, max says what I've been trying to tell people for the past week. so thank you for this.
I was wondering what happened to the guy from Game Trailers that got super hyped over the Remake announcement considering Game Trailers shut down but this just reminded me Easy Allies exists and I should watch this lol.
I'm speechless these guys have successfully get even more typed for part 2 every theory level max kept going in was blowing my mind if SE pull this off this could be one of the best final fantasy.
Spoilers for the OG
I enjoyed this very, very much, but there's still some things I don't understand. Putting aside that which we presumably aren't meant to know yet, like how Sephiroth's soul was able to traverse space and time for eg. Please correct me if I'm making a mistake here.
Firstly, why do the party actually enter the destiny crossroads at all? This seems like a huge own-goal. The whispers are trying to help them. They've saved the lives of the party over and over and over throughout this remake, and yet in this final chapter, the party find themselves wanting to go against them anyway. Is this simply because they find the idea of self-determination more appealing? Sephiroth is predestined to fail just like in the OG, but by destroying fate they're giving him a second chance. I understand that the party dont know that they're speaking to a defeated, time-travelling version of Sephiroth, but he still seemed to really easily trick them into doing his bidding. He basically just walked through the portal and said "follow me if you dare" and they did. Shouldn't the planet be screaming at Aerith in particular not to change fate?
Another thing is everything Zack. I find myself really not understanding this twist. Maybe I've got this wrong, but it's as if there are in fact three time lines, not two. OG, Remake, and whatever timeline this is that Zack is alive in. It's not clear to me why destroying fate would change the past. What is it that caused Zack not to die? What was the butterfly that caused the butterfly effect?
And then the last question is: if Sephiroth's soul can traverse time and space and interfere in the past, why didn't he just prevent his own death at the hands of Cloud at the Nibel Reactor? That would seem a lot simpler. I fear this is a bit of a plothole as it stands, but I'm hopeful they'll have answer for it.
