welcome back to the channel you guys asked for it uh you wanted to see more on the 1974 Gran Torino we've kind of just been driving it and enjoying it but there's some things that need to be addressed and in this video we're gonna do some detailing get the sap off try to clean up the paint see how that comes out we're going to address the top maybe some mechanical issues and uh well a bunch more so you guys probably will remember this from the the two-part video series where we we drove it 3 000 miles back from Las Vegas what a trip that was and kind of fell in love with the car but you know just can't keep them all especially when you you run out of space I mean you get the El Camino here too now my Rams parked on the street it's uh gotta start changing priorities but the big priority on this one is I'm going to bring it down to my buddy Jacob at Jacob's Auto Body local guy and see what he can do with this paint I don't know how well this camera is going to show it but well first of all there's a ton of sap which you guys seen in the the other videos and then there's like some overspray paint and if I pick at it with my fingernail I can now it's not really coming off uh yeah a little bit it's coming off this is the original paint and it's it's certainly not going to come back Perfect by any means but it would be neat if we could make it shine a little bit more and maybe redo the pinstriping so you guys were commenting about the sap that the most popular I was just looking through the comments now on that just typed in sap and the most popular was used rubbing alcohol that's that's hand sanitizer rubbing alcohol so give that a go then some people mention you know Goo Gone WD-40 people blast a bunch of other chemicals Magic Eraser but I think you would do more damage I I found just using your fingernail or a credit card you know because this stuff is so dried on there I think that is the best I mean rubbing alcohol is not gonna do it that quick this this stuff's just dried on there since you know that Vegas heat let's just see what PB blast would do and then you know acetone that's gonna be a little too harsh should have some alcohol all around here somewhere too actually my buddy Dave Wood gave me some 100 alcohol I think it was IMAX yeah look at this pure 100 IPA thanks for that Dave appreciate it we'll give it a go on this spot right here uh yeah so it's it's taking it off but now you can see it's it's still there it just took off the blue stuff so if you just chip away with your finger now I mean if anything maybe soak it with this and then come back but oh yeah that whole piece came right off so it does does help a little bit um let's see if we just rub it on this one and of course the alcohol is not going to damage the paint I don't see any red coming off on this but if you throw your nail in the mix too um yeah let's give this PB blast a go I bet if we just let that kind of soak in on that for a while it would really loosen it up but yeah same difference you really just better off scraping it is the way I'm seeing it yes we could even use the plastic blade since we're not really worried about scratching it I mean not that anyway I don't know I think of fingernails just really the best do two more little samples let the PB soak in on that one and then uh let the alcohol soak and of course that's going to want to evaporate quicker but come back in a minute see how that looks and while that soaks in just showing you some of the other cosmetic and I have a little bit of rust starting under here we're going to find out today how really bad it is some under these trims and and on the bottoms of the door you know those are starting to get rotted out too so this is not ever going to be a perfect car you see that's bubbling through you know but you guys you guys want to see it and I kind of do too and I think she does deserve some love so as far as the top I can definitely has holes in it but look at what's been happening with this this uh weather we get here in the Northeast a lot of rain the water is obviously getting into the car and it smells mildewy in here I mean uh so I went down to Philly he was talking to we got the master roof guy Dan here yep there's a hole there all right we definitely got it oh yeah I feel that yeah okay so some Metal's got to be welded in then under there before you put some Bondo in it clean it up prime it gonna pad the whole roof and put them we take it all apart you're going to need you're gonna need a headliner stitches doesn't dry right that's what that's from okay there's no fixing it yeah they just they you know what it was perfect until we hit the road down the highway and the wind just started to tearing it apart they would have did that once we started taking it apart look at this scene and it's just blowing right apart oh yeah look at that it's done for so he said three thousand dollars for a new top with headliner and he's the only guy I could find to do it uh less than the latest El Camino video I just posted uh or the Lincoln Continental I was asking if there's anybody else we'll see not that the price is unreasonable but I really would like to to do it at a shop where a guy wants to be part of the filming process and kind of you know get some clips and show show uh how it's done because I know if I did it it would end up being pretty butchered anyway let's come back over here so the alcohol he's still here and no that did not the alcohol did not melt it so again it's going to have to be chipped off and the PB uh same deal you know that's it's it's still on there completely so definitely have to chip all this sap off you have a big cosmetic is up on the front bumper you see the steel inside of here it's probably got split from the Sun then the water sat in there so you know I don't know what we'll do with that maybe I'll chip what I can out and try to glue it back down because the rest of it's really not in bad shape you see or maybe we'll just take it off all together but then you're gonna have holes across the entire bumper and right now you know it looks looks pretty good I also got a power steering leak we got to address lots of stuff Corner lens here blown out I mean if I'm being straight with you I love the way this looks it's straight out of the desert you know the sap the scratches the dense the rust the top everything tells the story and normally I would just leave it that way but the leaking top is what really prompted this video because yeah we can't we can't deal with that it's getting moldy in there you want a big shout out to Monterey Bay Aquarium saving those sea otters out in California I guess it's time to do it oh this is gonna be painful I'll probably just uh I don't I don't want to screw anything though up but I'll just run a incision around the whole thing and peel it back for a clean cut really you know just kind of going oh look at that I mean to be expected right foreign [Music] there we go that's what we're looking at got quite a few rust holes and it's probably pretty paper thin uh all over here so a few things to mention I think the best way to do this is it's not cutting it off like I did it would be taking the trim because I didn't realize there was foam under here you see how they go from steel and then they blend into the foam well yeah I cut right through that like a dummy and and it's okay over there you probably won't see that I mean I I asked Dan it's like is there anything I should worry about cutting off I said no take it off you'll be fine but you know took a little chunk out of that there however he said that what he would be using he would be padding everything anyway so I'm sure that's not hard to touch up but normally unbolt all this trim from the inside and then pop it off of course I just ran a razor blade and another thing to worry about with the razor blade like where there is still paint you know of course I put slight Nicks in that if if you go too heavy on the razor blades so it's another reason you wouldn't want to do that if you were replacing a top on a car that wasn't already rusted out around the seams you know you don't want to score that paint up but anyway that is what we're looking like so I'm gonna go ahead and blow this off clean this let's see how she fires up after sitting for four weeks maybe longer I'll do six pumps primer and go for a little spin blow the rust out there oh yeah it's probably gonna stall though yeah yes look at that dumping black smoke the choke is working good on it so we'll give a little tap there it is well what dummy decided to rip down the headliner a little bit uh you know it's funny because a lot of this is actually in great shape and I was asking Dan if you could just restitch this but he said no you would just replace the entire thing which makes sense because it's probably mildewy under here in areas too I mean look just right here look how much moisture is in there now obviously uh yeah this has been a problem for quite some time I hate vinyl tops I don't like the way they look and they just don't make sense like why wouldn't they have painted the roof you know once they get a little cracky in there it locks that moisture in and rots the whole roof out like that I mean what why wouldn't you want a painted roof I get it free convertible but for anything else I don't think it's a good idea listen all the rust blowing off down the road I don't know if you guys could hear that good let me see if Jacob's still over at his shop it is late on a Friday but he looks to still be here well Jacob's got a couple ideas for addressing this top uh in a non-traditional way we were talking about maybe using a bed liner on it so I brought it down here I'm gonna just poke the rest of these rust holes a little bit and then drop it with him did want to show you guys you know I was worried about the foam messing that up but you can see they were kind of hiding a seam with this film anyway and there was lots of moisture and rust under there so I'm gonna dig the other side out too see that one's perfect but let's see what it looks like under there in case you guys haven't noticed by now I'm not the body guy uh so this this whole video you know it doesn't have to come out perfect we're just looking to really address the water being careful not to make a mess I did scrape the rest of all this out just to make sure there's no other rot holes underneath the foam and the only place I really found a big one is right here along the seam you know this was all foam covered and under on the front here it's a little soft too how thin should I say yes let's go pull the rest of this headliner down and see what it looks like underneath how it rusted it is oh yeah look at oh this is soaked too soaking wet it's so nice to get this out of here you know I never had enough Headroom in this car anyway so what if maybe we'll just get rid of the that all together and go uh I don't know pole barn garage style and do like playing cards or something [Music] right no line inside I don't need a headliner be a little noisy down the highway I suppose let's see just sopping wet everywhere we're back over here Jacob shop few days later and he did a few test patches uh now what'd you do on this section right here to to get we took off all the step with the razor blade there actually just a steel razor blade and then we wet sanded it with all 2000 grit just to smooth out that old finish there followed by a wool pad that's not even polish or anything like that it does One Snap wool pad and you can see it's already bringing it back to life a quick 50 50 there oh man yeah that looks so nice wow so so this is all you saying you wet sanded the whole wet sanded there the quarter panel wasn't touched whatsoever that's just kind of got hit with the buffer a little bit there but really therapy told the hood of the truck isn't over here aren't you yeah check out this patch up here that's almost looking too good oh man I don't know if this GoPro picks it up but uh and how about that oh see look we had all that overspray on it before and I guess that the wet Center that's all primer definitely that's okay pretty easily there you can actually pick a little bit of it off with your fingernail there what'd you think with the holes up top of here uh so I did a touch cut on the other side actually if you see I panel bonded a piece of metal underneath of it uh we cut out a square of sheet metal you can see on the inside of it and then we fiberglassed over the top side just to smooth that all out maybe a million bucks but at least it's not going to rain on you when you're inside of the car there yeah now the ideal way to go about that but so if we go with the vinyl top I mean you think it's probably a good idea to patch up some of the larger holes that and that's probably the best yeah probably the best bed just because that way it'll postpone it for years to come I mean we could put seam sealer working out over it definitely going to start to break down and become brittle over the years I mean gonna go wrong either out there I mean I am thoroughly impressed so far I think we'll we'll go ahead and green light definitely buffing the whole thing and then I'll go talk to Dan's down there in Philly and see uh I'll take a couple pictures and make sure like like this kind of stuff is not gonna be an issue for doing the top uh unless you want to take on doing the top that was my concern I mean right in here like around those the guards and whatnot on the trim pieces a little rotted a little rotted so I mean yes I could clean it up and paint it but that ain't gonna stop the rut you know what I mean and what do you think about if we go with the Rhino liner uh or what who do you still would be Raptor liner actually okay um it's a U-Pull product but it would give it some texture it would almost look like a bed coating now as far as like where this Gully is here what do you think we could foil that and then smooth it all out with the fiberglass matting I mean once again now the proper way to do it so to say but it would at least fill it up and be smooth at that point it's not going to be a big crater like it was back in the day they would have filled it with lead but nowadays that's not reasonable there all right well guys that's a little progress update and now uh we're gonna kind of iron out a couple details about which which method we're gonna choose but I think I'm leaning toward uh just giving you the the rains and and yeah see what we can go with on the top uh I'd love to give a hand as well yeah one of the first project cars you've done any cosmetic work yeah I'm not a big cosmetic guy but I figured this this old girl brought us back from Las Vegas so she's she's worth a little TLC you guys get out quick break I want to thank the sponsor of this video Raycom and their everyday earbuds so I think this is a good example of how awesome these wireless earbuds are you know underneath my hearing protection and my beanie I got my raycons in I was cruising down the river listening to some Sturgill Simpson you know relieving stress because the holidays are here and just kind of unwinding a little bit I've been rocking these for a week now and haven't recharged this pack once so this actually has a built-in battery and when you drop them in it recharges the buds but the battery life is incredible now my experience of earbuds is just my 30 ones I got on Amazon and these just blow those out of the water like the sound is so much better the battery life's better they connect every time I pull them out haven't had any issues with that I think I'd call these a premium earbud at like half the cost cost of other premium Brands so here's the deal click the link Down Below in the description box or go to byraycon.com nnkh to get 15 off site-wide using Code holiday that'll also be new pop-up deals every day during raycon's countdown to Christmas so I'll try and keep that description box up to date but just remember you can always go to buy raycon.com nnkh to get the best deals available that being said I'm gonna throw my raycons in Cruise off and that way you guys can jump back into the video just got a call from Jacob that the car is all done so let's go check her out well holy smokes guys this is incredible looking wow this came out a lot better than I had expected I mean look at the top like we're not we weren't going for Perfection here but this came out incredible I mean and if you ever want to do the vinyl top still you can you just gotta you know take all the trim pieces off and do it right but everything's looks like it's been patched up we gotta get him over here tell us a little bit more about what he did but man walking tight so go take care of that front bumper even this plastic came back to life on it this thing deserves to be kept in a garage now oh the wheels too even the wheels Jen is going to love this you can even see my reflection on it I am blown away dude it looks killer so what could you tell us about it everything you did on this no I mean pretty much all the top surfaces we went around and wet sanded with 2000 grit I mean they're with primer build up sap build up there was layers and layers of grime on the top of it besides I mean really we did about a four stage buff started with a wool pad which was pretty aggressive there but elsewise we took off the pinstriping around it entirely you mentioned you were going to redo that one got all the primer over spray off of it buffed it all up has about four stages of buffing to it and then a stage of Da just to get all the squirrel marks out and whatnot threw a coat of wax over it just to protect it a little bit further there but else wise I mean fiberglassed all the roof holes shut cleaned all that up seemed sealed around all the windows edges jams anything like that and did some color match Raptor liner on there took some metal polish around it cleaned up the Chrome the best we could and got them Wheels polished up for it but that's about it there oh dude I gotta say man hats off to you you got it looking absolutely gorgeous I mean it's it's certainly we weren't going for Perfection but this is like dude that's about the best you're gonna get out of it for a time frame there from from 10 feet away this looks like a brand new car yeah I mean you don't even notice the crack of the lens anymore because it's just so darn shiny now yeah she's definitely looking killer so I'm gonna stop back in a bit to pick it up just out running a few errands right now we'll Cruise back with the skateboard later still plenty of daylight left foreign guys I'm gonna drop a link to his business down below if you want to check him out ever and if you do need any work done you're local to the Philadelphia area you mentioned nnkh I'll give you 10 off your bill lock on you there yeah no it'll work you're good Jacob's just getting a few pictures for his Instagram and then we're off to go uh well I guess we should get this thing inspected now we're in Pennsylvania so we don't get pulled over I heard you did most of the detail and all that right yeah I did I did most of it the outside came out really nice cool what'd you think did you get a chance to drive it at all or what do you think I actually drove it just from out back to like in my bay and just around a lot the steering is real smooth like it's like just driving like a boat it's real nice yeah yeah she's a good old girl hey well thanks again for your hard work man any time have a good one man there you go you really do I love the steering unit I mean one finger no problem this thing's blinding me now with the sun hit the paint you see this thing or what yeah I'm Gonna Make You Close Your Eyes guess you gotta wait inside I know you want to go for a run but you gotta wait okay I'll just hold him all right close your eyes and now you can lock wow it looks really good now keep in mind the sun's not about anymore so it does you know gleam in the Sun a little bit better but uh yeah check out the top too this no more holes and keep in mind I don't think this is UV stabilized so you know this might fade or get bubbly in the sun over time but again we could always redo the top if we need to for now it's not leaking water and we we do plan to keep a cover on it too what you thinking looks good I'm I'm gonna think I'm Gonna Leave This open like that because it actually gives so this card away I said if I sit upright in the seat my head actually hits and now I have like an extra inch of clearance forget if I mentioned that earlier but yeah I think we're gonna just leave it like this drive around looking classy what do you think Gus are you looking for that hole that you dug before no you don't even care about it now yes you lived in this car for like two weeks do you remember I do remember this place he's like this is kind of cool up here I have a good visual of everybody hey where are you going quick water bead test on her oh yeah so much better in the rain it doesn't just like soak in anymore how about Up on the Roof oh yeah and it's dry inside waiting here back can we get an inspection appointment today but a few last minute things uh before we head over there I want to get rid of the zip ties on the fuel filter uh we got reverse lights we got to look at and then the horn oh and the battery hold down that definitely ain't gonna pass inspection otherwise it should pass from what I remember that looks a little bit more pro-grade so I guess we ought to ditch the plastic filter under here as well never a big fan of these under the hood I mean if you press squeeze in you can actually feel the pressure from the pump pushing back and forth and if this ever ruptured under here being post pump that would just cause such a catastrophe uh if there was a fire to start in the top the power steering pump wall for now man she's thirsty there it is pour the hole down I'll just use one of these straps since you know the base is all rotted out and that's why this is just flopping in the Wind that's good and this is an item I actually meant to address on the trip I guess I just forgot about it because you know if you hit a huge bump and this thing jumps up hits the hood it could spark Arc and then light any Vapors under here it's actually really dangerous I mean if you roll the car this is what's gonna cause a fire a battery that's not held down battery hold down it's a serious issue like those reverse lights I forgot we got to get the horn switch on here too that ain't gonna pass like that and apparently the parking Brake's not holding either yep it probably just needs a little bit of lube you can see she's pretty crusty and the ratcheting mechanism is eased up ten minutes later a bunch of persuasion and some Blaster multi-max got her all lubed up and working ratchet mechanism came back to life even lubed up this cable because that was sticking before so yeah no adjustment needed and apparently this is fairly important on these cars because according to you guys in the comments on the first two videos these were notorious for jumping out of park randomly these Transmissions I haven't had that issue yet but after reading those comments I'll probably always set this parking brake uh because that would be a shame to have a roll away and with the brake set we can throw her in reverse and check out those lights so the right sides out hopefully just a bulb right it's just sitting in here bulb looks good it's the cover I picked up for it let's take it out you know and look at that we do have some water coming into the trunk so I wonder if that's residual I don't see anything up there so I'm thinking that's just from before I guess we'll wipe it up and check later bulb in stock for that maybe just a used one nothing we have power and ground oh yeah I do have 10.2 volts and then we got a ground so it seems we got a bad connection on the power side see if this 10 volt goes away when I plug the bulb in no what if I apply 12 volts nothing about the ground got good ground nothing so it seems we just have a bet let's take this bulb this is a used bulb I grabbed bulbs good all right so we got a connection issue in here actually after looking at it I bet you the problems in here you see that little bit of rust water was getting in there I got a good ground on the bottom but up top we have some resistance so if we go ahead and apply a ground to the outside of the bulb it should come on it does let's try the same thing we did on the record let's just run a wood screw into here and see if that takes care of the issue yup I suppose I should get a better screw though but you know that's fine it's not like it's a power it's just a ground beautiful like new and upon further inspection there is a little bit of water still coming in this trunk but you can see we don't have any rust holes in these gutters those are actually really nice condition and so is the deck back here I think it's probably just coming down and then has nowhere to go probably some rust holes so on a dry day I think we'll come in here with a blow gun clean all the grime out dry it up and run some urethane around the whole thing to seal it not really the right way but that should take care of it we'll do the same around these windows too in case anything's still getting in there he just called me said he's ready for me to stop over for inspection the last item is the horn I'll see if this works no I don't oh all right we'll get in power oh no sense to turn the key on maybe the horns just unplugged or something it was tucked behind the Overflow bottle back here oh I could probably try a quick adjustments a little tap yeah I heard a little something there oh that is okay because I happen to have some horns in my collection of junk any of these will do just need a one wire actually kind of wimpy but at least it works unfortunately I'm out of time and I don't have any push button switches in collection I will have to just run over there do the inspection and see if maybe they let that slide when I say slide I mean technically by the book I think you just need a horn that operates so this should do by the book but yeah Horn's very important to have I mean I certainly plan on getting the factory parts for this it's just kind of hard to find that stuff but if not I'll just get one of those switches you mount right here foreign I gotta say one of the biggest things I miss about working at a shop is being able to inspect my own vehicles on the clock still have to pay for it but I mean it was nice of course I am still a certified Pennsylvania state inspection mechanic but I don't work at a shop so uh it's kind of useless I guess let's see if she passes that horn is such weak sauce along with these wipers actually oh now they're working pretty good that's high sorry about the low light gloomy weather guys it's terrible here's the shop we're going to Yardley service center called a few different places today and they're the only ones that had some availability to get me on in kind of an old school gas station set up here official inspection station for being real I have met the owner before what's up take him come on buddy how are you so you're able to slip me in today huh come on in how long you been in business here now 20 20. okay you got it cleaned up in here nice nice and bright Corvette what are you doing this thing uh is this your buddies you just bought it I know oh yeah mango yeah wow that's awesome what's he getting how is it pretty decent shape or it's a Corvette yeah uh it's not too bad it's it's got a little rot here and there it needed new tires uh he wants to just look it over generally and see what else it needs cool it looks pretty clean as well I'm six feet away yeah he's got a nice setup here with the one we had over at Tires Plus had the airbags this one's hydraulic Rams on it that's sweet yeah feel a little safer putting your face next to that a little bit so mango if you're watching this video here's your Corvette she's looking pretty clean man congrats on your purchase dude hope you have good luck with it these actually are air cylinders not hydraulic but definitely nicer than the bags this even has built-in lights to the rack what an upgrade from the uh the old ones oh is there a screw he's Brian now how about that hoping it didn't actually go in oh let's pop her on out it feels like it didn't sweet just a little self-tapper cool original exhaust on it I mean that's tells you something too yeah because you know you put this you put those walkers on there you get like a year out of it and they're freaking rotten out dude it's terrible or the flex pipes they sell like why can't they make those things last more in the freaking they don't want them so Sean just pointed out the motor mounts on here getting pretty crispy I guess to be expected with the desert cards though but what do you think otherwise shape got a little bit of rust in the radiator sport yeah how about that it's probably from I guess the battery was leaking over years and Battery antifreeze rotten it out a little better than a Northeast car yeah dry rotted rubber but less rust Sean's got the icon box over here I gotta say the Harbor Freight quality has come a long way this thing seems how you liking this box so far it's nice holds a lot of weight as you can see it's works good yeah it seems It's unbelievable how how far it easy to come from like the original boxes pretty much the equivalent of a Snap-On wow somebody plugged the vacuum hose with a screwdriver it looked like a Pepper or something melted screwdriver so you know that tells some sketchy how did she get the green light pass yeah yeah that's it you guys heard it from guess the green light Pennsylvania state inspection I just built cars better back then except for 20 some odd years basically maintenance work and flies right through inspection almost countertop I got a bunch of wrenches and tools just kind of locked in there about that kind of neat thanks again Jake good service I'll see you around you guys want to support a local business check them out and uh the Yardley service center there you go drop a link to your insta you got my Instagram right yeah drop that down below all right see you guys later man all right back home Jen said she's got a surprise for us oh my gosh what did she do to you guys come here boy oh a little help Santa's Helper where'd you get this did you make this no it's from the dollar store are you serious it's kind of cute oh he got your hat off already says I will rip this to Pieces never to be found again what about you turbo will you wear the hat um what do you think Turbo you and you ain't good he thought he was getting out scot-free nope the next problem we must fix is gonna be this power steering leak and uh well that is from just being parked one day so it's gotten considerably worse but looks to be mostly just the pump leaking I mean the steering gear is wet back there but it ain't dripping as for the water leak we still have in the trunk uh you know I made a mistake by not cleaning and detailing this car fully but before bringing it to him and of course this really just wasn't the right way to go to go about it because you know now with the rain we had yesterday hopefully this isn't too loud on this I don't know if you can see but water is bubbling out on this side so clearly with the rain the water is just kind of saturated in here and I'm gonna try to blow and clean this out the best I can go for a good drive today and then we'll we'll caulk this up later but I mean if that's gonna rot out super quick if this car sits out in the elements if you keep it in the garage she'll probably be all right but not not good and let's see on these two okay so there's moisture down in there got that blown out and cleaned up as best as possible let it dry the rest of the day and then we'll go ahead and seal it another big item I wanted to address the easy peasy these have been filling up with dirt and crud for many years as you can see and you know then the water can't drain out and this stays wet year round then you end up with rust holes so I'm gonna clean both sides out of that nice and clean down there no rust at all so that will definitely help it out in the future stop by the parts store got that horn switch five bucks easy fix and then guess how much for a power steering pump not in stock either 262 dollars so I grabbed a 13 bottle of uh blue devil power steering stoply guaranteed to stop leaks permanently now let's give that a go and if not I'll probably pull the pump out and see if we can't just get a seal kit and rebuild ourselves I just pulled some out with a turkey baster and then it says pour one third bottle in and drive for one to two hours poor Morin if leak continues oh I'll just pour like a half bottle in hopefully that takes care of it don't mind a damp pump just can't have a dripping pump for the windows I'm going to use this amp Advanced modified polymer sealant because I use this on The Clapper camper and was really impressed with how well it applied adhered and stayed really flexible so go with that took a tube and a half to do the whole car but got all those seams fully sealed and I ran ran some tape around it you just pulled that off nice and slow for a clean line and some people say that taping off when you silicone or caulk is for rookies but especially around the windshield and such I mean you get just such a nice clean line you can really stuff the caulk or silicone into the crack and not worry about it splooging out making a big mess the main reason I did the top seams too is just because uh you know driving rain going down the highway you don't want a 70 mile an hour rain getting jammed up into that like 3 8 Gap right there and then rain on you and I'm sure some of you guys are thinking right now why didn't Jacob take care of this when he was doing the roof and the body work yeah you know he gave me a killer price I said just make the thing look good and and he certainly did that so I don't mind coming back in and uh you know it's not raining on me like it used to be but it certainly was still taking on water hopefully this takes care of that issue excellent list tonight is taking care of the front rubber so you see it looks like it's bolted on from the back and has a steel bracket underneath and that side's pretty damaged and of course and over here is actually completely fine so I'm sure I'm not gonna be able to get new pieces for this uh I don't know what you should do here can't really get to the bolts behind it easily to unbolt the whole thing you see it's all rotting out under the whole thing you know had those sheet metal nuts on the back stamped nuts this rubber bonded the steel did last really well for how old it is but once the moisture gets in there and starts rotting it and bulges of rubber and then cracks it just rots out just like that new Top's gonna do if I don't keep this in a climate controlled garage that looks so much better without the rust busting out and if I really cared I could fill these with like some caulk paintable caulk and hit them with chrome spray but I definitely don't care that much it's still symmetrical and there's not rust just busting out got the horn button installed and the pad the rest of this couldn't really put it back on because it's just so brittle and uh you know falling apart so you know for now that'll work at least we got some kind of padding on there I'm back here cleaning out the trunk and getting rid of this sound insulation or sound barrier because I mean it really just traps all the moisture underneath see there's a pool of water under there of course you shouldn't be getting water in the trunk anyway but uh then you know it's getting ready to rot through here so I'll uh I'll get this all down to bare metal and look at these quarters over here though nice salad no rust at all down there you can see all these Factory studs for the exterior trim in case we ever have to take that off but it's in the it was good shape last two items on the agenda tonight is just getting rid of the plastic fuel filter and then hooking the heater core back up if you guys remember on the trip we bypassed this because the heat was stuck on but now it's winter time so heat will be nice by the way don't know if you guys noticed my new trapper hat to replace the blue worn out one but uh thank you Brennan who sent me this over to the P.O box got it today and it is mighty warm so thank you very much for that and thank you to the guy that sent this hat too it's like an electronic no-nonsense know-how hat so kind of cool be fun to wear this during live streams and such and with those last two items done the only thing left to do is drive and enjoy this Torino Elite with the exception of the stinky interior yeah so that might be hopefully my next video I'm gonna rip the carpet out and replace it so we gotta wait like a week for it to come in yeah we just ordered a carpet it was like 160 bucks online uh so that should hopefully take care we'll see how much rust is in there but Jen is going to be ripping out the interior all by her Lonesome maybe I'll help her lift the seats out all right you are free to go now I got dragged her out here in the cold and the last thing I want to mention is new t-shirts uh so locked in on a few designs that you guys kind of voted up and I will have a new website itself Gonna Be Ready in the next day or two there will be a link to it down below in the description or up in the top corner here when that's available but thank you very much if any of you decide to hop on there and pick up a shirt hugely appreciate the support and a massive thank you to you all for watching this video this far if you're still with me otherwise you know check out Jen's Channel I will drop a link to that as well and she just put a new Christmas song up that she wrote back in I think 2017 really fun awesome Christmas
