we're so happy to see you on this beautiful day that god has made the second sunday in september amen amen we have a dynamic word for you on today amen for the last couple of weeks we've been in the book of job and so we're going to go back there one more time this week and we're going to finish this out and today our text will be coming to you from the 42nd chapter of the book of job that last chapter in the book of job the 42nd chapter and as always we're going to ask you to keep your bibles open as we're going to be referencing several of these scriptures in this chapter but for the text we're going to focus in on verses 16 and 17 verses 16 and 17. amen amen and from the new king james translation there you'll find these words after this job lived 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations so job died old and full of days so job died old and full of days for just a few moments today i would like to speak to you from the title for this text it will not end like this it will not end like this we have all heard the proverbial saying that all good things must come to an end while that is true i submit to you on this morning that on this side of eternity not just all good things must come to an end but in fact all things must come to an end yes all things good bad or indifferent will eventually come to an end on this side of eternity now while for some that may be sad particularly if you're in a good part or a good time in your life but for some that is news for their ears it's news and some folk are happy or excited that things will come to an end because that means that the trials and tribulations that they may find themselves going through now will at some point end and i believe that that's word and encouragement for somebody today that no matter how difficult your trial is no matter how difficult your circumstances are no matter how difficult whatever it is you're going through is eventually it will come to an end not only that not only that but i i want you to know this morning that if you find yourself going through a god-ordained storm a god-ordained trial through a circumstance that god has brought you to i want you to understand today that not only will it end but it won't end like this for the last couple of weeks we have looked at parts of the story of job and while we looked at job we focused on job's patience we focused on the fact that god was able to trust job with some of the most difficult circumstances of life we we focused on the fact that that that job kept his integrity and job remain patient in trial and while oftentimes that is the lesson that you and i glean from the book of job but i i want to tell you this morning that there is another part of the story that rarely we pay attention to there's a part in job's story that rarely we take a look at and the part of that story is how job's story in yes for the past couple of weeks we've seen job at his lowest point and i believe that for some of you this morning you may feel as though you're at your lowest point we've seen job at the most difficult times of his life we've seen him in the beginning where the book said that he was blessed and we've seen him at the lowest point of his life but here we see the end of job's story and while the majority of the book centers around job's trials and jobs struggles it is in this part that you and i need to know today that job's story did not end like much of the book we read no no no job's story ended like many of our stories will indeed in i want you to know today that no matter what you're going through no matter how difficult it is no matter how long it has gone on i want you to look at our text for today and realize that that too will be your story that no matter how difficult it is it won't end like this no no no your present condition will not be the conclusion of your story and it won't be the conclusion of your story because i stopped by to tell you this morning that god wants you to know that he is still writing your story yes yes that's good news today god is still writing your story although now you may be in a difficult time god is still writing although now you may be in a time that it feels like it's going to never end i stopped by to tell you god is still writing and we know because we can see it in verses 16 and 17. the bible says after this after all that job went through after all of the difficulties after all of the trouble that he saw after all that he lost we still must know that he lived another 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations and then the bible explains to us that after this after all that he went through after all of his trouble job died old and full of days in other words in some translation says that job died old and fulfilled i want to let you know today at the end of your story if you continue to trust god if you continue to endure with patience that the end of your story will also be written that you were fulfilled yes god is still writing your story and i see three things that i want to remind you of today even if you're in a difficult time even if you have been going through this for a long time that god is still writing your story and because god is still writing your story three things i want you to remember first of all remember that god will keep you god will keep you listen we must understand as we read the book of job that the way job begins and the trouble that was brought through him that came to him through an unseen conversation between satan and god we got to remember that god trusted job because god had prepared job god had prepared job and not only had god prepared job because he prepared him god preserved job yes we must know and we must come to understand that whatever we find ourselves going through and no matter how difficult it is remember that you have been prepared for this trouble god has prepared you to go through what you're going through but but even more so and what you have to understand because sometimes the thing that god prepared us for goes on longer than we like it to go on but one thing that you and i must remember and that is as long as we're breathing as long as we're living no matter how sick we are no matter how much trouble we're in if we still have breath in our bodies if we still have life god is keeping us yes god kept job through all of this god preserved job he preserved job even after job lost everything he preserved job even though job became sick in his body he preserved job even though his friends turned their back on him and you and i must know the same thing you and i must know that no matter what the trouble is that has come to our life god has prepared me somebody needs to declare to god today god is hard but i know you prepared me god it hurts but i know you prepared me god i'm struggling but i'm going to keep on struggling because i know you have prepared me for what i'm going through and then we need to say lord you keeping me just like job god preserved him go back to the first chapter go back to the second chapter all through there we see the the the providential hand of god we see god preserving job job had a protection on his life the devil even acknowledged this to god he acknowledged his head to god that the only reason job continues to serve you is because you blessed him and placed a hedge around him and god did not deny that and i want you to know today that the only reason the devil hasn't taken you out is because god has a hedge around you the only reason the devil hasn't ended your life is because god won't allow it the same protection god gave job he gave you and he gave me and so not only has god prepared us he's preserving us and as long as we continue to live god will keep on keeping us yeah god will keep keeping us because we have the protection of god and so as our story evolves this story called life evolves understand that it'll be filled with ups and downs but through all of the ups and downs of life don't you ever forget that god is keeping you don't ever forget that god is preserving you don't ever forget that god is protecting you and listen the enemy can only do so much in your life he can only do what god allows him to do and that should be that listen that should be good news for somebody today because god is a keeper god is a protector know that he's still writing our story and as long as he keeps on keeping me i know my story is not going to end that way but not only will god still write our story by keeping us i want you to know today that god is still writing our story because his purpose must be fulfilled his purpose must be fulfilled listen for somebody today you may not understand why you're going through what you're going through it may not make much sense much sense to you wow why you're going through what you're going through but remember i told you that god never does anything haphazardly that god has a purpose and a plan for your life and for my life god can take all the evil that has been uh stacked up against us and work it for our good and oftentimes in our life we forget that god will never let us suffer longer than what's needed in order for him to fulfill his purpose in our life listen listen let me show you something in the text go go to the text go to the text and actually go look to verse 1 of chapter 42. i want you to go to verse 1 of chapter 42 and i want to show you something here that we must understand and know that our story will not end like this because god has a purpose and once his purpose is fulfilled notice all that job went through notice that that job went through so much once you meet job in chapter one from chapter two on all we see is calamity trials and tribulations in the life of job but there was something that happened that you and i must come to understand that's in verse 42 beginning at verse one the bible says that god finally spoke to job yeah job answered the lord job in there he talks about the fact that now he knows and he knew it before but now he knows that god can do everything watch this look at verse 2 and that no purpose of yours can be withheld from you see we have to remember oftentimes y'all we're crying and oftentimes we're going through and oftentimes it's so painful that we forget that god has purpose in what he does job says and no purpose of yours can be withheld from you job goes on he says you ask who is this who hides counsel without knowledge therefore i've uttered what i did not understand job said i uttered things that were too wonderful for me things which i did not know listen please and let me speak you said i'll question you and you shall answer me listen look look at what job says he says i've heard of you by the hearing of the ear but now my eyes see you y'all what was happening here joe as blessed as he was job as much as he loved god job as righteous and upright as job was job still understood that that just like the scripture tells us our righteousness before god is as filthy rags and what happened here the bible says in in chapter 42 verse 6 job says therefore i abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes what is he repenting of he never cursed god he never said bad things about god listen when you come to the understanding that no matter how good you think you are that that our goodness is nothing before the lord you can't do anything but repent what was happening here philip grove is that job saw god as he never had before and i wonder if i have any witnesses who can say today that i never knew god like i know him now until i went through what i went through until i was sick i never knew god to be a healer until i didn't have a job until i didn't have money in the bank until the foreclosure notice came i never knew god to be a provider until my friends walked out on me until family members walked out on me until the ones i loved died and went away i never knew god to be a brother that'll stick by me oftentimes it's through trouble it's through trials it's through tribulations that we experience god in ways that we've never experienced him before listen until we've cried we've never known god to draw our tears until we've had trouble in our lives we've never known god to be one that can give peace until we've been sick we've never known god to be the great physician but sometimes through the trials through the troubles through the tribulations through the calamities god shows himself in ways that we experience him like never before but job as much as he loved god as much as he clinged to god and abhorred evil it was only after he went through what he went through that he was able to say what he said in verses one through six you see we gotta we gotta understand church and we have to learn that oftentimes the worst times in our lives or what seemed to be the worst part of our life are actually blessings in disguise listen all of us all of us should be able to look back over our lives at a time that we were in trouble at a time our back was against the wall at a time that we didn't know how we're going to make it but somehow some way we come to learn that god is exactly who he said he is we come to learn like job did that god can do everything and although it was a bad time in our life a time that we thought was the worst time in our life in actuality we look back and it was a blessing in disguise i'm a better man than i was before i went through i'm a better woman than i was before i went through i'm a better child of god before i was when i went through i'm a better parent i'm a better christian i'm a better grandparent i'm a better employee i'm a better person because what i thought was bad and what i thought was horrible was actually a blessing in disguise yes job in his repentance came to understand that he came to see god in a way that he'd never seen him before and i want you to know today that god is still writing your story and god's purpose for many of us in continuing to write our story is that we will come to know him in a way that we didn't know him before we went through what we went through yeah yeah your story won't end like this i know i know it's trouble now but your story won't end like this because god is still writing your story your story won't end like this because god is to keep you god is going to preserve you god has prepared you your story won't end like this because god still has a purpose for you and until his purpose is fulfilled the story won't end he's still writing but there's one thing that i got one last thing that i got to tell you today before i leave you your story won't end like this uh your your situation won't end like this god is still writing your story and because he's still writing your story god is going to restore you god is going to restore you yeah listen i want somebody to know today that god is a god who does exceeding and abundantly above all that we ask or think remember i just told you a minute ago that as well as job knew god he experienced god in a way that he had never experienced him before and one of the ways that he experienced god in a way that he didn't before is that before he went through what he went through he was blessed yeah we know that how do we know well back up to the first chapter the bible says that he was the greatest of all men in the east that job's possessions were so great that everybody knew that job was blessed job himself knew he was blessed lord somebody sees where i'm going but sometimes we have to come to understand this like job did the lord gives and the lord takes away the same thing that job told his wife he told his wife how dare we accept good from god's hand and not accept adversity and when job came to see that when job came to learn that when job came to understand that god restored him but watch this the god we serve is in the business of not only restoring what you've lost but god because he is great because he is mighty because he is wonderful because he's better to us than we deserve because he's better to us than we than we are to ourselves because he's a god that does things great because he's a god that blesses us abundantly because he's a god that does exceedingly more than he has to god blessed job with double whoo double what he had go down to verse 10. the bible says that job that god that the lord restored job's losses when he prayed for his friends watch this indeed the lord gave job twice as much twice as much as he had before verse 12 jumped down he says now the lord blessed the latter days of job more than his beginning it says that he had four that he had 14 000 sheep this time six thousand camels one thousand yoke of oxen one thousand female donkeys seven sons and three daughters in other words not only did god restore job to what he had blessed him with before because job stayed patient because job kept his hand in godhead because job kept looking at god because job kept his integrity god blessed him with double of what he had blessed him with before and i want somebody in here to know today that you may be going through right now you may have lost some things you may have lost some friends you may have lost some possessions you may have lost some people but one thing that you have to know god is in the restoration business and when god restores you he does it better than he did it before he does it more than he did before so i'm telling somebody today that no no no your story is not going to end like this your story is not going to end where you are god is going to restore you he's going to restore possessions he's going to restore your health he's going to restore relationships he's going to restore finances he's going to restore so much that you have lost but you got to stay faithful you got to keep your eyes on him you got to keep your integrity you got to hold to his unchanging hand hold to his hand trust in him who will not leave you whatsoever years may bring if your earthly friends forsake you steal more closely to god you should clean because he's still writing your story and it won't end this way listen i don't know what you're going through i don't know what what's happening in your life i don't know how you feel but i want you to know that god knows that god has prepared you for it that god is protecting you from the enemy that god is preserving you for himself that god is working a purpose in your life and god is going to restore to you all that was taken you got to trust him and you got to know yeah i'm going through right now but my story ain't going in this way my story is still being written and i can't wait to see what god is going to do listen i can't help but think about as we continue to go through this pandemic but one thing that i heard a writer say the other day he was a doctor and he said this and these simple words gave me so much joy he said yes even pandemics end listen i don't know what god's purpose is i don't know what he's doing but one thing i know he is working his purpose and this story is not going to end like this god is still writing the story and in the end i believe that we're going to look back and we're going to see yes we lost a lot we lost loved ones we lost friends we lost neighbors many of us lost jobs we lost possessions but i believe one day we're going to be able to look back we're going to see the hand of god and i believe we're going to be able to declare that what we thought was a curse was a blessing that god had disguised and that on the other side of what we're going through after this we're going to see god in ways that we've never seen him before so as i leave you i want to encourage you hold your head up continue to look to god continue to trust him don't you dare give up and know that it won't end like this because god is still writing your story god bless you god keep you and if he says the same we'll see you here next week god bless you you
