It’s WORTH THE HYPE how to refinish wood without sanding

this product is truly remarkable and you can see why it has like 13 000 five-star reviews on Amazon no this video is not sponsored I just discovered this stuff that's been around forever and a lot of furniture Refinishers use it but it's just my first time discovering it and trying it and I'm blown away and I could not wait to post this video and share with you guys my results so here it is it's called restorer finish and it's by Howard I'm sure many of you guys have heard of this and used it and love it and let me know in the comments if you love this stuff already but it like I said it's my first time trying it out because I've been working on this antique piece and actually in this video I'm doing three different pieces and I saved the most gnarly one for last so you'll want to stick around to the end but I was doing this uh smoking chest for a friend of mine this thing is so old and she wanted me to refinish it she's going to be giving it to her niece and you know it's it's a family heirloom I really wanted to take good care of it and I did some researching online you guys know I don't typically I don't do colors like this this mahogany these walnuts I don't really do these colors too often because they don't sell very well in my market but I have several of these pieces in my own home and this is one of them this is just a a big vintage buffet that I have been using as a TV console it's done in a stellar job at having lots of storage and and of course it's really well built my plan was to do a big living room makeover and include this piece and totally transform it and I actually will probably still do that but in the meantime it has all this great damage that we can try this product out on and I can give you guys a really satisfying video because there's a lot of scratches so we'll see and you guys know I love a good before and after and if you're new here and just uh tuning in I that's all this channel is about is furniture refinishing lots of befores and afters documenting my progress and my process and we do a lot of fun things on this channel like Pottery Barn finishes and we do lighter wood looks and we do bedroom makeovers sometimes but yeah mostly furniture refinishing I have a small business in Georgia where I refinish furniture and sell it for profit I'm blown away this whole time guys I'm this video is not doing it justice what this uh is removing on the surface here these scratches and dings and watermarks and heat marks and anything you can imagine that's come across this uh Buffet top in the 70 years it's been on Earth and it is just wiping everything away like just like magic I wish this um you know I wish I wish all furniture makeovers were this easy this is just doing a great job so I'm using steel wool like it recommended it does take about a day to dry and it's kind of stinky so you'll want to work in a well ventilated area of course follow all the instructions on the can and I found that when I came back after a day it had dried but there was still residue that needed to be removed and so I used a microfiber cloth to remove that now like I said you don't want to click out you'll want to stick around to the end because I saved the most scratched up piece for last [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] I bought this piece off Facebook Marketplace for about thirty dollars and was a really surprised by how much uh the person that had owned it before I think it's a little kid had scratched it up you can see there's some Tic-tac-toe and some hearts and oh my goodness all sorts of other drawings I mean all over the piece top bottom sides everything so you know I was kind of going oh I guess I'll stand this thing down to the raw wood and we'll do like a light wood look on it and I still may do that and but I figured while I had this product I wasn't going to refinish this with this product that was not the intent originally but like I said I wanted to give you guys a good idea of what this product can do and I thought it was it was really fun for me honestly to just play around with this I love getting a new tool and adding a new skill but I'm loving it and you can see there that bottom drawer I had already done and then the top drawer I haven't done yet and then it does recommend that you add after you're done that you do the Feed and Seed which is the wax and I imagine that would even enhance the look overall even more but I haven't done that yet I'm sure I'll get around to it I wasn't sure I wanted to do that because if I refinish these and sand them all down I don't want like a gunky wax on the top so keep that in mind if you're going to do something for the meantime and then come around and when it comes time to sand it off we'll also see how well this Sands off because I'm sure I will refinish it at some point blown away this does such a good job it doesn't remove the scratches now if they're deep into the wood it removes the look of the scratch but that scratch is still going to be in the wood unless you do sand it completely out and that you know you'd have to sand off like a layer of the wood to get that deep you know for the amount of time it takes to do something like this the results are very impressive and I will be always having some of this in my garage from now on if you're here till the end you're a real rock star
