what up hello and welcome to another stay tuned video it's me and it's the truck we recently did a video on the truck where we went for a bit of a drive we showed you guys why you're absolutely mad not to get these things tuned and we had a quite a number of questions as a result of that video revolving around the tuning process itself dinos you know fuel economy etc etc we thought we would do our best to answer those very quickly in another video except this time the truck's on the dyno we'll show you back to back why they drive so much better once they're tuned uh I'll do my best to answer some of those questions for you and probably the most prevalent one today has been oh but I saw someone else got their truck tuned and it made 1400 meters of torque I'll show you why that's that Dyno cell must have been hot that day let's put it that way dinos are a tuning tool they're an excellent tuning tool but they are a tuning tool they're not made to be compared we obviously have a hub Dyno here at stay tuned if you're gonna compare figures that's the best way to do it but even still different altitudes temperatures they have weather stations but they are a guide you see Dyno sheets with you know a stock run from the truck that makes 700 newton meters of torque at the tires and then they make 1400 newton meters tuned I mean I hope that's pretty obvious to people that that's absolute crap and these make what if they make 400 and something newton meters at the flywheel standard I failed to see how the talk has been multiplied through the drivetrain and through 37 inch tires to the dyno unless of course the dyno operators running them in a low gear if you're using ear reduction to develop torque then fair enough but that's also a completely important comparison so today everything's gonna be done in fifth gear um to get the lowest numbers possible also the most realistic because these things don't rev very high using 50 are also gives the dyno a better chance to read more accurately and produce a nicer graphical representation of what the engine's actually doing so let's get stuck into it we're going to run it up standard and flushed it back we're then going to run it up tuned exactly the same two maps that you saw out on the road and then we're gonna have a chat about the dyno graphs and help you guys understand how we're extracting that performance foreign foreign we have completed a few standard runs and a few June runs on the mighty NPS let's go through the results let's start with horsepowers except measured in kilowatts which is the Mecca made a grand total of 59.2 kilowatts didn't even crack 60. I'm even I'm a little disappointed with that this Dyno Innovations Dyno that we have is a little bit of a heartbreaker but anyway now let's have a look at talk now you notice this bit here this has got to do with how the dyno Innovations Dyno loads up it's a bit of a known issue so let's just get rid of that very first bit of the graph so we don't skew the figures so we made 221.1 newton meters of torque Powerhouse now remembering though that's through huge diff huge gearbox huge transfer case 37 inch mud terrain tires seems pretty reasonable to me it's all the same for the tune all right so let's get rid of that let's bring up the tune file let's put these back to off start with kilowasps 142.7 and look at the shape of the graph completely different to the stock run heaps more down low and that's reflected in this number you ready let's do the same thing let's get rid of the bottom of the run so we're not skewing anything any different 665.4 newton meters of torque so it is actually two newton meters more than triple the amount of torque at tires and completely different so now what we're going to do is we're going to bring the stock running as a comparison ready it's not a I was confused there for two seconds sorry for the pause I looked at it and I said where's the Run gone see the dyno Auto scales it's actually below the graph apparently you ready if we make that zero the other one will appear there it is let's make this 200 so we can see it let's turn the torque off for a sec so there's our power graphs I mean it's just more everywhere and then we'll bring the torque in a little talk down here for the stock run and this up here is the talk of the chip truck it's not even it's even hard to show it on a graph because it's that ladies and gentlemen is why the thing drives so much nicer and toes so much nicer um again let's just cut let's cut off this little bit here so don't skew the figures literally triple The Talk and two and a half times more power it's yeah this bit in here it just transforms them I don't know how I even did the 2000 K's with this thing stock terrible we promised you some fuel economy figures I don't have log books of fuel economy because I personally don't care however I do have some generalized figures for you standards not Towing this was averaging about 19 19 and a half liters per 100 K's which again bearing in mind I only did just over 2000 K's in the truck with it standard so the engine was still obviously tight a lot of people mentioned some differences after the first service we actually checked it on the dyno right before and right after it had valve clearances done it's identical so I don't know if other people have different experiences maybe if the valve clearance is tightened up or something like that but yeah our experience was it makes no difference whatsoever um now same driving I drive this thing pretty much every day to and from work um not Towing we're now averaging about 16 and a half to 17 liters per 100k this kind of depends I could definitely get easily into the mid 17s if I drove it harder but you don't need to it's got so much more bound so much more torque Towing standard um it would kind of plateau it just didn't have enough power really um but it used to get around the sort of 22 and a half 23 meters per 100 Towing our race car um tuned uh it's kind of low 20s 20 and a half 21 liters per 100 give or take so overall it's around two liters per 100 K's better than it was before and also again ironically our Dash readout appears to be pretty accurate I've checked it obviously manually calculating it the Bowser versus the the dash numerous times that's within about half a liter per 100 case so I just been going off the dash but yeah really really happy with it it's no worse on fuel than a you know Ranger with a dead EGR and it would ABS it's hilarious watching people's faces when you're coming up to a form one lane and they want to race you and you put your foot down and you disappear into the distance everyone should tune them um we're going to be doing some more videos suspension tray all sorts of stuff so they're all coming sound deadening uh some audio visual bits and pieces to finish off our our truck um but we want to hear from you guys if there's any more questions you have in regards to tuning horsepower all that sort of stuff please throw it in the comments we are we have got a couple of mechanical upgrades in the works for this so of course we'll do videos on those as we release them but for now stay tuned if you want to see more of me Damien talking the stay tuned truck any of our other projects and Dino dog please like subscribe and obviously follow us
