Is the Gen 7 Mustang Worth Your Money? | Cop or Flop

does the Gen 7 Mustang deserve to be the last American muscle car or should it be canceled like the Camaro it's time for cop or Flop Mustang Edition good morning ladies and gentlemen my name is Micah Johnson and today we're going to be covering the entirety of the Gen 7 Mustang now we're going to hit every aspect of this generation even the EcoBoost I know to see if this thing is a cop or Flop let's get into it [Music] and to start off let's hit the 2024 EcoBoost Fastback starting at $3,920 this EcoBoost is powered by a 2.3 l turbocharged inline 4 engine this thing pushes about 3155 horsepower and 350 ftlb of torque it also comes with a 10-speed automatic is rear wheeel drive and weighs about 3500 lb and has a recorded 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds so it's pretty quick has a decent amount of hor power and of course looks amazing but it's it's a four-cylinder okay it's a four-cylinder so you're not going to get that full Mustang feel as you will with the V8 as you will with this 4cylinder but it is pretty handy and ends up averaging about 26 MP gallon which is very helpful in today's economy they then offer a 224 EcoBoost premium Fastback which starts at $3600 which offers nicer headlights sequential tail lights black DEET spoiler hood vents optional performance rear wing leather wrapped steering wheel and other interior improvements like heated seats they also offer the EcoBoost convertible and the EcoBoost premium convertible which have the same specs as the Fastback and the premium Fastback respectively now as much as I want to give these four cylinders a flop you got to give credit what credit is due they're decently fast they got nice interiors and the car doesn't look awful what more can you really ask for so in the end in terms of engine I'm going to give this car a flop but in terms of the car in general I'm going to give it a cop so if that's what you can afford and you want a Mustang go buy an EcoBoost it'll be all right I'll get over it it's okay moving on to the car that I'm most excited about is the 2024 GT Fastback starting at 4,460 this mustang comes with a 5.0 L coyote V8 engine which pushes $486 horsepower and 418 ft path of torque this thing has a 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds comes with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic is rear wheel driven and weighs about 3,800 lb and comes with a couple of exterior components that makes the car look nice and aggressive the GT is also offered in a premium version and a convertible version again the premium versions are just simply upgrades from the base GTS which include things like quad Chrome tips remote rev dark aluminum wheels and 19in Brembo brake systems it's just a simple upgrade from the base model All In All I'm going to give this thing a cck it's got a big old engine it sounds amazing you can rev it with your key fob it gets pretty decent gas mileage 18 when combined and all in all this thing rips and it looks cool what more can you ask for starting at 42,000 going all the way up to 52,000 this car is getting pricey so it's up to you to decide if it's worth your cash or not but all in all definitely a [Music] cop Now we move on to the big dog of the Gen 7 Mustang the Dark Horse starting at 58,300 insane powered by a naturally aspirated 5 L Coyote engine this V8 kicks out 500 horsepower easily and 418 ftlb of torque again it has a six-speed manual with rev match or 10-speed automatic it's rear wheel drive and weighs just over 3,800 lb and hits 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds what now of course this model is the upgrade from the Mustang GT but there's actually an upgrade to the upgrade that being being the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse premium starting at $62,900 this thing comes with optional dark painted aluminum wheels Vinted four-wheel disc power brakes and includes a list of luxury features that are here not to mention the ricaro sport seats driver's seat memory settings remote ignition and a performance rear spoiler painted Shadow black now sadly enough the Dark Horse premium isn't anything crazy I kind of wish they able to supercharge it or thrown special into the mix but the focus is on the exterior look at the difference between these two cars and tell me you don't see anything now they both look spectacular for different reasons however I definitely do prefer the Dark Horse over the GT now the question is is it worth over $112,000 more in my mind definite yes I'm going to give it a cop for sure but I'm going to give it a flop from the Dark Horse to Dark Horse premium they they must change come on Mustang do better [Applause] [Music] but of course Mustangs got an extra trick up their sleeve if you like the Dark Horse and like the performance and the aggression this car brings there's something that I got to show you this is the 2025 Mustang GTD this car is their track ready Beast this thing comes with a 5.2 L Supercharged V8 with a dual clutch transmission which helps the engine push a 00 horsepower this thing is rear wheeel drive has a 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat and is estimated to weigh around 3,000 lb 700 lb lighter than the Dark Horse now obviously this thing just got revealed so we're still waiting on some specs but from what I can tell this thing is going to be a monster now this all sounds amazing but the price tag is going to hurt this mustang is going to cost $325,000 what now it does come with a cool looking body kit in an amazing big old Wing to make the car look even more spectacular than before but is it worth it you see you to pay $325,000 for an engine that's only pushing 800 horsepower I think is a little bit crazy so we're going to have to see now I have High Hopes I mean you know me and I hope that the Mustang is worth every penny that you spend on it if you're able to spend this money let me know how it is please and in the future if I ever have the chance to drive one of these bad boys you know I'll let you guys know the truth now that I've given every single Mustang a cop or Flop score it's time time to give them a overall copper flop considering the looks the power the speed the affordability the specs and everything in between I think I've decided that the Gen 7 Mustang as of right now is a cop there's packages for everybody you got the ecob Boost to people who don't want to spend tons of money on a Mustang and the big old V8s for people who want to wreck
