graev up your engines well here's an interesting thought Americans bought more than 40,000 cars that were built in China the first half of 2024 now of course they're kind of like American Chinese cars Lincoln sold 1754 nautiluses which are made in China buck and vision they sold 21, 860 of them so they're American car companies building them in China and then bringing them over here now I'm curious as far as I know these don't have a tariff on them they're talking about oh put a tariff on the Chinese cars there s in the United States well Ford and GM are making it s here to my knowledge they're not being taxed as a tariff they're kind of being sneaky you know just like they're trying to get a deal where maybe the Chinese will start building cars in Mexico then they'll well Mexico that's part of North America so we can bring them in I mean there's all kinds of sneaky deals going out there but bunch of people are already buying Chinese made cars in the United States they may say Ford or GM but they are 100% made in China well you want to know what the worst selling cars of 2024 are well here's a whole bunch of them they sold less than a thousand of them in the first half of 2024 well no surprise one of them is the Volvo C40 recharge they renamed it now it's called the recharge it's one of the electric vehicles Volvo electric vehicles are not popular Volvo owners want a certain thing in electric cars doesn't seem to be one of them here in the United States and guess what another one is the Chevy Equinox EV yet another SUV electric vehicle that nobody wants to buy they sold 13 of them in the first half another one is Lexus RC now Lexus makes decent vehicles but they make some that cost too much money so people don't buy them these things start at 100 Grand and they've only sold 996 of them so far kind of makes you wonder why would a company like Lexus that sells a whole bunch of cars want to make some really expensive car that they don't sell enough of they're not going to be making a profit on it it's not logical another one is the BMW Z4 you know the little sports car thing well they've only sold 928 of them the Toyota copy of it it sold 1,400 of them so they're not selling that many of those either it just goes to show people really aren't buying expensive sports cars anymore it's not a thing anymore for most people another one that isn't sell well as the Audi A8 don't sold 854 of these things they are endless money bits now they don't get such great gasm but they're Audi they're inless money pits people are realizing you don't want to spend your money on one of these things another one is the Volvo S90 they sold less than a thousand on them and another one is the Audi A7 they only sold 738 of them the first half of the Year people are finally realized nais are endless money pits and once someone's owned one and they find that out they're not going to buy another one their neighbors Find Out Boy he was always taking his car into the shop it cost him a fortune to take care of it maintain it and then fix it when it broke and they're expensive to buy new so they're not selling very well in the United States along with those other ones I find it phenomenal that these luxurious cars now they're not selling that well in the United States people are like yeah they act with that European crap that oh the Europeans grit luxury cars no they don't anymore well here we go again with emissions testing GM was just finded $146 million after millions of their cars failed the missions tests well millions of them failed they only had to pay 146 million so that's not much per car if you think about it it turns out that millions of GM vehicles put up more emissions than they were supposed to and after an in-depth investigation by the EPA GM is coughing up $146 million in penalties and will forfeit a mission credits for 5.9 million vehicles that have released more pollution than they should now this is certain 2012 to 18 GM vehicles now of course the usual horem manur came out from GM GM denied any wrongdoing and said it had complied with all pollution GM remains committed to reducing auto emissions and working towards achieving the administration's fleets electrification goals the company said in the statement they don't admit to any wrongdoings but they give out 146 million bucks hey hey GM give me some of your million ions and you don't have to deny anything just give me the money why would anybody give up that kind of money for something that they're not guilty of of course they're guilty of it but that's our stupid legal system that these companies can screw everybody over and then oh we'll pay this fine but we're not going to admit to any wrongdoing so in court they haven't admitted that they did something wrong right well who the heck is giving away 146 million bucks if they didn't do something wrong this is the biggest line of Horseman that's a problem with our legal system in this country it is broken it is broken up the W zooo somebody gives up $146 million but they don't have to admit guilt now if that is in total hypocrisy I don't know what is I'm what about Ford F50 belt driven oil pumps in the 2.7 ler in V8s Scotty Ford using a wet driven oil pump for the 2015 2.7 L and newer engines as well as the 2021 V8 newer models instead of the original design with a direct drive off the crank oil pump Ford claims designed to last a lifetime I can't imagine it's going to last the lifetime with all the Heat and oil and I read that the replacement cost for this belt's over 5 12 Grand cuz you have to tear a little engine it down what do you think of this yeah I agree entirely it's stupid and why is Ford doing it they're just looking at the cheapest way they can build the car instead of using geard driven oil pumps or chain driven oil pumps they're using a rubber belt what a stupid idea especially since the rubber belt is inside the engine Co with oil let's face the facts it's going to break at some point in time if it cost that kind of money to replace it my God what a stupid design now if they want to use a rubber belt to drive a water pump fine put it on the outside of the engine so it's just there and then if you got to change it it's on the outside of the engine it takes a few minutes that's it not you got to tear the whole engine apart these Engineers come up with some of the dumbest idea this is the same company that had the change driven water pumps inside the engine and so if the water pump breaks the water gets inside the engine oil and destroys your engine right what a stupid idea water pumps most cars are always on the outside of the engine maybe eight or 10 bolts unbolt them put them on there's the water pump where you go simple thing to do right water pumps spin they pump water they have seals eventually the seals wear out the variants go bad and you got to replace same thing with a rubber belt driveing an oil p eventually it's going to break what a stupid idea but then again that's Ford they seem to be the masters of coming up with stupid ideas and having more recalls than any company in the United States that makes cars for the last three years and they'll probably come out number one this year too cuz they're leading at the halfway point of 2024 Mystic 192 says my headlights are aim too low I got a 2008 Lexus the headlights are aimed at the ground it's impossible to see when going at speed I'm looking for a guy to adjust them I see there's a screw but I don't want to make it too high cuz they're HIDs I don't want to Blind anybody help me you say they're actually pointed at the ground the first thing I'm going to tell you is check the plastic headlight assemblies first because they're held in place with a lot of plastic screws and bolts it could be that some of that plastic is broken so now they falling down in that case look at them closely now they cost a small fortune let's say one of the plastic pieces on each side broke so they fell down what you can do is and I've done this on many cars this one of the greatest epoxies in the world it's called JB Weld quick comes in two little squeeze containers like toothpaste you mix them together if you have a plastic piece that's broken off on each one get the JB Weld put it back on hold it there for five minutes then don't drive the car overnight do it at night do it in the evening whatever in the morning it'll be totally dry and It'll point correctly cuz if they actually point it way down on the ground generally it's not an adjustment something is broken to make them go that far now if you do have to adjust it doing those screws it's a simple thing to do do this at night Park about 20 ft away from the garage door and you want the headlights to be just both the same distance at the same height of the car measure how tall your headlight is in the ground to the headlight coming out on each side put a ruler against your garage door and make it so that the headlights at 15 20 ft away are pointed right at that level and that's the correct level but like I'm saying they normally don't get that far out of adjustment usually something plastic snaps and then you can JB Weld the plastic back on or maybe sometimes the plastic snaps you hit bumps they just come out of their place you got to snap them back in check that first all right people do some crazy things this guy did the craziest he got a marry around and he put a jet engine on it and not just some little toy this is a jet engine that's supposed to put out 7,000 horsepower now this is on whistling Diesel and you know that's a YouTube channel where they do all kinds of crazy stuff well this guy decided I'm going to put a jet engine on a miror right so he hooked it up put a counterweight on one side the motor on the other and ran it and of course it got so fast he had to shut it down but then he thought I wonder how fast this thing will go so he turned it up full blasted spinning away and guess what the motor just flies through the air cuz it comes off good thing nobody was on it at the time you watch whole thing it's on YouTube it's hilarious flying my jet engine Maro round name of the video what what are people going to do next he didn't bolt it on tight enough so it flew off but let's say he had bolted it on tight enough it would be going so fast it would burn the bearings out on the merry go around they couldn't take that kind of force probably break the steel off of the handles that it was bolted to who know people do some crazy things but that's got to be one of the craziest things I've ever seen so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that Bell [Music]
