Is Socialism Biblical?

there's a lot of discussion these days even among those that claim to be christians or they may be christians but they are they've really fallen in love with socialism and the young voters are they're wanting socialism of course they don't know anything about socialism because nobody picks a losing horse if you were going to bet on one no one bets on socialism winning because socialism has never been successful anywhere in the world ever not once leads to tyranny leads to poverty leads to third world countries ask venezuela the latest victim socialism is growing among what i would say might be the educated or the degreed but not well informed the united states of america is the most perfect amazing human experience and government that the world has ever known it has its flaws but it's the most best flawed place in the world it's so good even in our frailty it's so good people are trying to break into this country that's how good it is how did we get here what do we have and how was it that people that were not born here but immigrated here are fighting for america and for america's freedoms and for our religious freedoms why because they came from countries that didn't have the freedoms that you and i have grown up with we are spoiled and we have a tendency when you're spoiled to flirt with things that you don't know about and so i have asked a man to make a presentation today who trafficks the world in world governments and speaks to national and international leaders on proper government on the economy on freedom on liberty he has held some pretty amazing positions in our united states government over his long and influential career and he continues to do so and he's even been tapped with our nation's top secrets during his service to this nation among so many other things he's a six-term congressman and a very dear friend him and his wife liz please give a warm welcome to congressman bob mcewen thank you sir love it thank you guys thank you all very much thank you thank you thank you it's so much fun to be here you have the greatest church in the world i'm kind this is not and and churches churches are not buildings as you know it's just the people i said if i if i live any place west of the mississippi i go to church here this is this is really and it's fun fun to be with you and as jack mentioned i'm going to talk about some things that that you're not supposed to talk about you know the people always say that you know in polite company you'd never discuss religion or politics and the reason you don't discuss religion or politics is because it's the only thing that matters in life i mean you can stand in line at the grocery store and talk about the weather and when do schools start and what the baseballs are but none of that matters what matters is what kind of life will you have in your family according to god's plan where you're going to spend eternity and what kind of nation now that that matters and so but one of the things that lots of churches have been have been stampeded into not to doing and that is to not talk about government listen i don't think they should talk about politics they shouldn't talk about politics from the from the pulpit well let me just give you a little aside there are 66 books in the bible and i challenge you to find one or two or three if you can that was not written by a political leader or to a political leader or about a political leader and you'll find out that god is interested in these things and so that's what we need to focus on just a bit because we have a whole generation those of us that grew up in the greatest nation in the world we understood it there's never been any place else when when a tsunami hits a the largest muslim nation on earth like indonesia to whom do they turn do they turn to the to the glass skyscrapers of the middle east and say we want to help no they turn to the americans because american christian america is going to come in and help when when a ship is attacked on the high seas it's happened over 300 times last year or the most recent we heard was when the british ship was was taken in straits of hormuz from the when the iranians to whom do they appeal the 327 thousand americans wear the uniform in the united states navy the standard for righteousness in the world is the united states if somebody if somebody's cheating on banking or something it's the american americans what will put what will freeze that nation out that is that that it will it stands for what's right four percent of the population of the world call themselves americans they produce over a fourth of all the goods and services on the entire planet every year they write more books more plays more symphonies more copyrights more inventions than the rest of the world combined the other 96 combined the question is why it's important we know the answer to that question unless people are going to go out and elect someone who wants to fundamentally change america you know the a little girl in warsaw loses her puppy dog and she has a collar with a chip she can go on her iphone and check on the internet through her gps and find exactly where the puppy dog is all of it conceived invented maintained by americans you know half of all the people on earth live on less than two dollars a day half of those live on less than one dollar a day in america we have a standard below which we will not permit a certain person to sink like jack was saying this country is so great that people who hate it won't leave i mean and so so you let somebody come to this country who hates it wave their flag and sit down on a park bench and gripe and complain we will bury them with stamps for food a roof over the head of bed to sleep in unlimited health care for them and anybody they've ever met unlimited education a person living in poverty in america this is not my opinion this is this is the rector study done by the wall street journal and heritage foundation every 24 months for the past 30 years a person living in poverty in america the second richest spot on earth is western europe france germany britain a person in poverty in america is more likely to have a telephone a television an air conditioner an automobile eats more meat has more square footage space than the average resident of the second richest spot on earth western europe and yet if you ask a typical millennial uh say something what did you learn in in high school that was good about america well we learned about about about slavery and and and and slavery and and and slavery they can't tell you a thing you want to talk about slavery throughout all history there was slavery and there was a handful of folks that put an end to it and from then on it's been in athena ever since who were there those were the founders of the united states of america and all and also never in the history of mankind has one nation had the capacity to overrun another nation but what it didn't do it the only time there's ever been pieces when there's a balance of power when there were alliances that we learned about in the bible and elsewhere whatever a nation felt it could overrun another nation whenever hitler felt that he could do it and get away with it he did it when the soviet union collapsed and and there was no balance of power that when somebody misbehaved america could put pressure on moscow and say tell those people to quit doing that in africa and so when the soviet union collapsed a fellow by the name of saddam hussein looked down at kuwait 18 of the oil in the world he could capture it in eight hours and there was only one person on earth that could stop him only one out of six and a half billion only one is the president of the united states nobody else could do it and he decided he made a bet his the odds were six and a half billion to one he said i'll take that bet and through divine intervention or or coincidence whichever one you prefer that when he chose to do that they were all the leaders of the free world were assembled at aspen in colorado and sodom hussein went down and overran kuwait because he said you know i can do this and nobody's going to stop me and the next morning margaret thatcher walks up to george bush the only person that can do anything about it grabs him by the lapels and says now don't you go wobbly on this george and say and as a result that so that's what had been peace with this single exception one nation overrun a single exception of the united states of america after world war ii we could dominate the whole world we had a nuclear power nobody else but we do anything we want and did we do it none zero what'd we do we spent i'm on the i was on the veterans affairs committee there the the korean veterans are now surpassed the world war ii veterans and caring for them i was speaking to the to the parliament in in seoul and i pointed out that i deal with these folks who bear in their body the burden of the consequences of having gone to war physically and otherwise and i have never heard one american korean veteran ever complain about what he did and what did we do gave 50 000 lives and hundreds a hundred thousand men walking around with bad knees and sore backs at the moment so that south korea could be free no nation in the history of the world has ever given life blood and treasure for the freedom of another and never ask anything in return except the united states of america there's never been a place like this so so with that understanding it's important to understand how how it works and that we should uh we should preserve it and so that's what i get to do now and uh so we we have a great country and now how did it get here everything starts someplace and if we're gonna the most important decision that you're ever going to make in your life is this one that is there is a question that has to be answered every bar room brawl every school yard scuffle boils down to two words who says and there's only two answers one is what i say and the other is what god says that is there's a starting point a disquisition of every kind there are certain primary truths upon which first principles are in all subsequent reasoning must depend when you make this starting point you you know you ever notice when they build a highway and they put the the pillars up and they're going to run a ramp and i always marvel how do you know exactly how high that can be because there has to be a starting point someplace if you're going to build this building you have to drive a stake and from that everything else flows now if after about six weeks you you move that stake someplace else the whole thing is going to be fall apart there has to be a starting point upon which we can rely and there's only two starting points one is what man says and that is i got here on my own i just took me a long time which which i struggle with a bit like it took millions of years to develop a liver really if you could live for millions of years without a liver why would you develop a liver in the first place i mean i mean and and and it had to learn that 32 chromosomes had to match in order to have an egg in the sperm and then you know no it doesn't work 44 and 22 and 52 you know it disappears the second you don't do it the first time has to do it right you don't experiment with this i mean i i i've never caught the whole the whole thing the bird that lays its eggs in it blends with the ground they're not like like robin egg blue that they they look like they say well over millions of years no they didn't the first time they didn't blend somebody come along ate them and that was the end of that and so so but nevertheless if you're if you're a good evolutionist then you believe that you got here on your own therefore you are the you are the standard or you believe that god made man and he uh that makes a difference now what i'm going to say is not because the scripture necessarily says it what the scripture says is true and you say well i can't argue by according scripture to somebody doesn't believe in the bible that's i got it but 2 and 2 equals 4 not because the math book says 2 and 2 equals 4 2 and 2 equals 4 because that's true that's just the way it is now the book reports it now god's way it works and it's recorded in scripture and so it's you can save a lot of time you can experiment over here or you can just take what the scripture says and the scripture says this it says that when moses was having a hard time trying to keep all those people happy out in the desert and his father and came to him he said the lord said what you need to do is you need to have a federal state and local government you have to put people in charge of thousands hundreds and tens and what kind of people we can't have a course in political science and i can't give you all but here's three things that you need to know number one is that crossroads number one those that fear god fears the old english term for respect uh fear of the king or honor of the king because there's only going to be two ways that is what man wants to do and if you've got all a bunch of opinions then you're gonna you're gonna be in trouble so you need to have somebody who believes in god and what god says so watch for that first as a little aside by the way just kind of off course here either you believe you're god or you believe what god says that's all it is well i don't think i believe that's right because you set yourself up as the boss and you can ask a person how do you feel about abortion well well i think or god says and he said what you want are people who are going to follow what god says but while we're on the topic i'll just give you a little free advice here you don't want to marry a person who thinks they're god just early warning system here you're never going to keep her happy and and he and he's he's never going to be satisfied there's nothing you can do to make him content if he thinks he's god so you never want to marry a person who thinks they're god you don't want to go into business with a person who thinks they're god and god says you don't want to put a person in authority in government who thinks they're god so number one want somebody who fears god secondly is it works how does it work out in government it works like this if you think you're god then you've got your standard if but god also has a standard but you don't care about that you don't want to hear about that don't talk to me about the bible and things because i've decided what i think now if if you have a standard then you think that man is basically good by what standard would he not be good because you're defining what's right and wrong but god has a standard of which we we tend to fall short now if you establish if you believe that man is basically good then anything that he does wrong is not his fault it's got to be society's fault and so you'll get these people running for president and say you know this guy came in and shot people all up and and uh but that's not his fault i mean my goodness good he's good he's good didn't you read it he's good so who's fault is it got to be that gun's fault i mean that's just plain as can be that you got to regulate that gun coming in there doing those nasty things i mean you just can't you never know at any time see if guns kill people how does anyone ever get out of a gun show alive but but they're never they're never accountable for what they do it's always somebody else's fault and yet we recognize that that we're accountable and here i did all this to get to this part right here and that is if there is no god where do rights come from they come from the tribe and so you listen to these people talk about women's rights gay rights hispanic rights african-american there are no blonde left-handed rights no there there's only there's only only rights that come from god and they apply to everyone equally so when you hear anybody talking about women's rights you know that person is on that side of the chart that person thinks they have a standard and so therefore what i said mr president the four of us is not because of what we said or what we did is because of our skin color and you're picking on us because we're women of color that has nothing to do with it young lady what you said is the problem and because right and they will always try to get you off of off of the principle and on because all power comes from the tribe and america was founded not on the tribe it was founded upon god giving us the rights and so you first have to get rid of god once you get rid of god then you can move on on down the line and and as i say the uh the idea that you get special privileges because of some group that you're in and when you listen to these people over here in a democracy rights come from the majority the word democracy does not appear in any of our founding documents to the republic for which it stands but it is a democratic republic that we elect people to run the republic and that's a distinct difference these people tend to be republicans these people are democrats they believe that rights come from the group in america our daughter was in rwanda 80 percent or hutu 20 are tootsie 80 voted to kill the 20 that's democratic over the course of 90 days with machetes they killed a million tutsis in america if it were a democracy you could vote to kill jews 95 of america can vote to kill jews you can't do it in america why the rights don't come from the majority our rights come from god and among the and the first one is life then liberty we'll get to that in a minute so it's and and by the way when i say words like democrat and republican i know you're not supposed to say that in in public also and so let me let me discuss it for a moment we can use the shorthand and due to this i am married to the neatest person on the planet and one of the greatest things about her is that she says you cannot offend me because i choose not to be offended and it's really really wonderful and when you're in politics i mean there's people wanna they they want to know and she acts like she doesn't know what they're doing when they put her in the back under the hat rack or something you know just she just keeps rolling away because she says i'm not going to let them i choose not to be offended i'm just going to live my life i got the lord me and my family and we're happy there's a corollary to that and that is if a person chooses to be offended there is nothing you're going to do to prevent it from happening that is they have chosen to be offended it was too hot it was too cold it was too loud it was too soft it was too big it was too small and so if a person chooses to be offended they will be offended now i'm just going to ask you cut me a break because i can i can explain all this and not use the word democrat or republican and it but it just takes longer and and and lawyers like to use lots of words and not it's sort of halfway figured out i'll just cut to the chase because we're short on time and so they uh so it in the process the how does this work out in government since we have to make people do things right because there is no godly standard then we need government to make them do what's right so we have to figure out more boards and commissions and these people always want limited government how do i get more government one way how do i control you through the best way is taxes and for those of us the second we land at lax and we rent a car and we come out on the street and immediately we see two dollars more per gallon and we think isn't that interesting now how did those people convince the people of california to pay two dollars more a gallon to say you vote for me and i'm going to take let's see 20 gallons in a tank of gas a tank a week times four that's 80 times like 160 dollars you vote for me and i'm going your car payment is 300 watch me i'm going to increase your gas payment 160 bucks if you vote no they don't do that well they say you vote for me i'm going to tax those oil companies i'm going to get those oil companies i'm going to make them pay their fair share and everybody says well that sounds pretty good to me but they don't realize that oil companies don't have money oil companies collect money and then they so every time you get to get you get to collect the money for them and then they give it to the government and if you in the purpose of this operation is to tell our young people as they go off to college and as the professors tell them that this is a good thing to have government do all these things to understand that government has nothing it doesn't first take from someone else and when they do that that person is diminished that person is injured and so these people will always want more taxes and these people will always want fewer taxes thirdly weak defense and i we've got a whole story on that but we don't have time and the final point is this since i'm the standard i can say marriage is between three men and two women because i'm the standard or you do what god says and he established male and female created he them man without god is lost try to build this building without a stake as to where to start try to build a highway without and so it's essential that we have a starting point to be gone just as a quick aside i think probably more or less for this presentation today i got stopped by the police on friday uh i was merely doing 44 and a 30 because on constitution avenue there is one light that's out of sync and if you live there you know that and the tourists don't know it but on friday a lot of the street was empty and i knew that after the third one you need to really high tail it and you can get through that one then the rest of it is fine and so and so this officer observed me doing that and uh and he walked up to my car and he said this he said how would you like to be addressed and i was thinking your excellency would be fine but but i i i said excuse me he said he or she and i said well he and he said what ethnicity do you call yourself and so then he went ahead and we did all the stuff and at the end um as he was finishing i said my son's a police officer and uh how long have you been doing this and he kind of rolled his eyes and he said this is our third month and he said i said well son hang in there i said america is going to write itself before long let me just tell you this silliness is going to stop but without god you you can't get anything right you might have seen that youtube of where they this guy in the university of washington went around to these able capable 20 year old college students and asked him he said if i want to be a woman can i be a woman every one of them said yes and so he said well i always kind of wanted to be six five can can i can i be can i be six five well they kind of stumble bumble around and they'll say yes you gotta look it up by the way i'll tell you how to find it you remember art link letter had the kids say the darndest things this is college kids say the darndest things and so if you google it you can watch it and so then you see these girls go through yeah okay you can be six five he said well you know asians they get really good grades and things right could i be asian if i wanted to be well a lot of them had to use a lot of verbage but he kept driving the question eventually they came to a conclusion that this white five foot seven male could be a six foot five asian female for me that's what happens when man leaves god and this isn't new first chapter of romans professing themselves to be wise they became fools and so our founders as we'll see when we tend to wrap up here our founders nailed it but it has to be on god without god the rest of this doesn't work and so what i'm trying to talk about socialism i can't get there until i talk about this first so those that are not god but they recognize god and secondly those that are men of truth lovers of truth now that i can say this room is 75 feet wide you can say it's 65 you can say it's 50 and you can say it's 92 and we're all happy as clams until someone comes in with a ruler a standard of truth and measures it and i don't care how big he or she is or what it and that doesn't matter truth doesn't truth speaks for itself so this little nine-year-old girl can come in here with a tape measure and she measures it and i said three times it was 65 feet and she measures it and it says 72. everyone in this room knows that what i said was wrong therefore error hates truth so all the people said it was 92 and 75 and 55 we all team up on her because truth reveals error what is truth okay you've all heard this and i heard it when i was a teenager and it didn't make a whole lot of sense christ said i am truth what does that mean it means that when she measured it and it's 72 feet everything else was just opinion i just thought it was 65 i just thought it was 75. christ said i am truth everything else is just opinion and man who tries to build a home or a nation on opinion the next guy's opinion is just as good and when you get to college everybody's got opinion each one crazier than the next and they'll all be so tolerant unless you happen to mention truth and you mention truth brother they will turn on you like banshees and they'll recognize it and i always marvel at that as how they knew it i i had to take a philosophy course it was required i wouldn't have done it otherwise and they and you had three philosophers each day for three days a week for the whole semester and afterwards we had we went to collect our grades and and rather than just getting our grades and leave the professor wanted us to tell what philosophy they most identified with and their philosophy was your concept of god and the purpose of man and after about three or four well i agree with so-and-so said this and i can't even remember who these philosophers were we studied and and and it became apparent about four or five that no two people were going to say the same thing and so each one had their own little and i'm as bored with it as i had been so i was studying something else i didn't pay attention till the end he said bob how about your philosophy i thought okay concept of god purpose i believe that man is a creation made in the likeness and image of god who is the creator and the sustainer of the universe and then i put my head down and the class erupted everybody just turned around in their speaks i was sitting in the back corner and and everybody turned around and they all started talking at the same time and i started laughing i thought this is crazy it's like i pour gas on the floor or something you know this and and why are you not offended at each other's crazy but you're all offended at mine and and it's because it was truth and so i mentioned to my brother and he gave me a story and i'd love to give it to you some other time we don't have time now as to how how they can tell how they can tell what truth is and one of the ways you're going to be able to tell when you're in college is when some little girl wants to stand up and speak at some little reception and the everybody in the world boycotts and throws bricks and yells and screams and karen that's truth that's going to be truth everything else is going to be hard so we truth and then and so fear god lovers of truth and then here's the final thing now i don't have time god says to moses i can't give you a whole course in political science i can't i can't give you a book to read here's three things i want you to hear what you look for number one is does he think he's god or he's going to follow me okay if he follows me then is it true that is is he going does he rely upon what we say his faithfulness is true and thirdly i can only say three things thirdly haters of socialism it's in exodus now he uses the term covet socialism is taking what someone else has you vote for me and i'm going to give you something that somebody else has now that's coveting when we would travel abroad people would often uh come up and say you know i've been to america they've always wanted to say i've been to america to say to a congressman you know liz is an engaging sort and she would start to ask questions well what surprised you most about america or what impressed you the most that startled you about america the answer comes back more than anything else is you don't have walls around your property you see everybody else has walls around it probably in america you don't know where your yard stops and where your neighbor begins now just as a little side around the edges of the country as we begin people who don't want to become american we've had to begin to start putting walls but nevertheless in middle america we still we don't we don't have any walls and why is that because we do not covet in mexico they have a wall they have cut glass across the top of the wall so you have to protect what you have costa rica is a wonderful country one of my best friends the attorney general we were going out to eat and when we got to the restaurant uh rosa and liz went into eating and one edgar and i are standing he's talking talking and finally after a while you know why the food's a lot better on the other side of the door and out here and he's i know just a minute bob just a minute but eventually somebody materialized out of the ground he gave him some money we went in what he hired someone to watch his car while we were in the restaurant why i grew up in appalachia in my hometown of 5000 there were three black cadillacs all three of them belong to the three funeral homes and the way that they advertise the way that they advertise is they parked their limousine in front of the funeral home all day long everybody oh so-and-so's mr evans has the funeral today i rode my bicycle to sit under a tree and look at that and say someday i'm going to have a black cadillac it never once crossed my mind to go steal it never crossed my mind in america we don't covet we want what someone that socialism is coveting what someone else has if you came in here if anybody here is 20 years old and you have a college bill and you come walking down this aisle and you put guns at people saying i want twenty dollars from you a hundred dollars from your 100 and then you leave we would call you a thief we would call you a criminal which is what you are but if some politician says you vote for me and i'm going to use the internal revenue service to reach in and take twenty dollars from him and a hundred dollars from her and 25 you and i'm going to give it to you if you'll vote for me when you vote for that person to do that you're no more noble than if you came here and did it yourself that's what socialism is so how does it work there are only two ways to get money only two there's a car going down the street out here there's two ways to get money out of that person's pocket one is called free enterprise free enterprise is where i lay awake nights figuring out ways to do something good for the person such that they'll slam on their brakes and pull and say oh you're going to wash my car and clean the windows and sweep the carpeting and down to the dashboard i would much rather have that than have this ten dollar bill oh it has a pair of shoes and have this fifty dollars a global positioning is through two hundred i i'll never get lost again unless we have that gps that have this 200 and under free enterprise we figure out ways to do good things for people such that they make an exchange which at the end of the exchange they are both better off they have created wealth and if they're not better off it'll make the exchange free enterprise rewards good behavior for what what they do and so that's why this little four percent of the world as i said more books more plays more symphonies more copyright inventions are we smarter than anybody else no we're freer and freedom allows people to do that let's hit it again here's a farmer he's got a pile of wheat you got a baker he's got 10 empty ovens he says if i had his wheat i could make donuts and sell them in the morning farmer says i don't need this wheat if i had his money i could get a new tractor put a roof over the barn and so the two of them come together and they create wealth they make an exchange which at the end of the exchange they are wealthier than they were before and that is the only way that wealth is created now by the way i grew up pentecostal and i know that when you want to make a point you say the same thing three times in a row and so that is the only way that wealth is created that is the only way that wealth is created now now i said that there were two ways to do it and so the other one is is if i just go and take it and by the way why do we admire wealthy people wealthy people bless more people than others the more people we bless the people voluntarily freely reach in their pocket you sit on a park bench don't do a dagger on the thing for anybody you're gonna be poor don't blame the country that's the way it works it will always work that way you work two hours a day you get one return eight hours 16 hours a day and so when people want to work hard and produce things we honor those people who do that i of the age and there will be some here remember when the only people could operate their computer were people that had green eye shades and pocket protectors and walked around talking in algorithms and but there came a time when a fella said that is too complicated i'm going to make a little icon i'm going to call it windows and if you just click on the icon it'll do all that stuff perfectly every time and as a consequence he took the computer from the nerds working it on the third floor of the back of the warehouse to little two-year-olds sitting on your on your desk with while you're watching the television she's downloading stuff on my ipad because she likes because why that changed the world what's the principle the greater the contribution the greater the reward he he became as a consequence the richest man on earth he got bypassed the other day by a fellow did this he said you don't want to go out and get that book you're sitting in your bed playing on your ipad at nine o'clock at night you'd like to read that book you just push this button and i'll deliver it on your front porch by 10 o'clock tomorrow and that guy now is the richest man in the world now under free enterprise you figure out ways how to do good things for people and they decide whether it's good by the way you might think it's good but they might not and we vote with our dollars and we reward people according to the blessing that we receive from them and don't get ordinary how people vote because well he shouldn't be making all that money that's not your decision if it was up to ball players to make be paid according to what i buy they'd all be broke but when there's a ball player that hits 360 and hits 50 home runs and every time he shows up in a stadium the place is filled and the people sell parking and people sell popcorn everybody makes all kinds of money and therefore they'll pay him lots of money because when he does people vote with their dollars they're allowed to do that and sitting around griping and complaining because you're some socialist college professor is tough under free enterprise people can reward people whom they choose to do according to their blessing you know i so the greater the reward now the other alternative as i said was the cars going down the road out here and there's two ways one is i can freely make them voluntarily provide them something that they want and under freedom it's wonderful you've got a bunch of people sitting there watching a parade on a hot day and you're a little 10 year old and you think they'd love to have some ice water i'm going to go over and buy this buy these bottles of water at 69 cents a piece and i'm gonna sell them for a buck and a half going in my little one and he can make two or three hundred bucks by figuring out ways to good do good things for people that's that's noble that's called free enterprise and if he does it then he'll have 150 and the guy that set home playing with his game boy all morning on the porch he won't have it and if you're a socialist you'll come along and say oh he got to take that money and give him no why how come freedom is allows people to become successful or not successful whichever they choose and if there comes a time when money or those things don't bother you and you want to only work two days a week you should be allowed to do that you shouldn't but you can't go to the government and gripe and complain because this guy's making more than you did therefore to give it to you as he succeeds and he creates these things you're pulled along with it so a person living in poverty in america lives in a king's ransom for most of the of the planet so if you shoot the wagon puller you know liberals believe if you shoot the horses the wagon will go faster it doesn't it it it doesn't so the other only other way to get money out of the car when it's going by is this they stop at the street light and i walk up and i put my gun in the acres so he can make even more so under free enterprise you can create wealth which is necessary to create jobs and an opportunity under socialism you don't create anything you take from one person and give to another you punish the person that produced it so he's reluctant so he doesn't produce it anymore when the communists took over in chile they said everybody is equal not equal in the sight of god equal in their needs therefore everybody's going to be paid the same whether you're the boss or whether you lazy or whether you're whatever productivity in the copper mines fell 70 in 30 days see socialism can screw up a two-car funeral they they can they can do they can destroy anything the richest nation in latin america venezuela elects a demagogue he says see that oil company i'm going to take their money and i'm going to give it to you and yeah let's do that and so they produce it they steal from the productive so the productive doesn't produce anymore they reward the person for not doing anything so he didn't do anything and the whole thing collapses my sister-in-law is venezuela her brother is a retired dentist he retired on 4 thousand a month a very contented income in venezuela it is now worth less than two dollars so he lives with my brother in fort lauderdale and he goes around and makes leaves and things because he can make a hundred 150 to send back to his family to survive because socialism destroys wealth so when you reach in and you take it you haven't created anything you've you've you've coerced it and and without the benefit of the of the reward while social let's take let's take health care you say well in britain it's free in britain the politicians sit down and see how much money they want to appropriate to health care and then they back it up as to how much they can afford and so this year they cannot afford dialysis for anyone over age 55 and so if you're 60 and you need dialysis tough oh but it's free yeah you don't get any it's free well big deal when government controls what is socialism government is control of the tools of production when government controls the tools it controls the man and so when when liz and i were in indonesia and we got the country team briefing in the embassy when we were leaving the ambassador said watch for people standing along the side of the road for no reason they'll heave bricks at american cars when they go by why well indonesia is socialist it's the same population as america and its gdp is less than the state of illinois so under socialism is government control you can't go into business in indonesia unless you have a relationship with the government so the only people that have a trucking company or have a with some other kind of business that they can make money are the only people could afford an expensive american car and you're an indonesian you see the guy going by you're jealous of the rich because they have something you can never get and so they hate the rich in mexico you and i cannot go into the oil business government control you and i can't go into the trucking business under socialism you lose your opportunity to have freedom in america you can float into long beach at five in the morning and you can own three 7-elevens by midnight because in america you can go into business for yourself because it's free enterprise not socialism and socialism is being sold elsewhere and you can find free enterprise creates abundance as people are always producing socialism steals from it makes it poor so you can now that you know that you can drive from boston to richmond virginia and you can tell which towns you're going through you can tell how they vote and how much is socialism how much is government control because socialism creates poverty and here's the principle freedom enterprise we have a choice to freely choose while socialism is coercion while government economic planning may sound attractive it's fundamental that in order for a government social program to work we all must be fitted into it those that won't fit voluntarily are coerced that's why they build walls around socialist countries to keep people in to enjoy the benefits every time we use our right to vote to choose someone who who wants to control private enterprise we are in the process of destroying our very personal liberties and they will disappear in this manner just as surely as if they were taken from us by conquest of all the economic systems known to man the most beneficial has been the american enterprise system and when you are able to create then you can bless others if you take all the money that goes for the cost of global evangelism the further the gospel of christ from the entire planet except america and you put it in a pile and you doubled it tripled it five and a half times it's still not as much as this four percent of the population of the world yes americans give this is the lighthouse for the gospel america is not under attack because it's evil america's under attack because it's good scripture says you're going to take a city got to bind the strong man there's only one strong man in the world you see those chants over there in iran they talk about the great satan the great satan who's the great saint america what's the little satan israel they hate what god stands for and it's our responsibility to make sure that we don't put people in power who share their contempt for our nation quickly rounding third heading for home here we go that is that and people say well it's just not fair for those people to have all that money that's not your problem son they i was going out the door one day and my my son said to me said you have that app that tells where your gate is on the flight i said what are you talking about he said well you get this app and and and you put your flight numbers in there when you land it'll show you what gates you're coming in and what you're where you're connecting flight is you need you have 15 minutes to decide whether it's across the hall or down elsewhere you can figure it all out i said well how much is it it was 99 cents question is that worth 99 cents to me to have that on my phone for the next three years yes why did a person make that because they didn't want me to get lost in the atlanta airport nope they didn't care about that they were interested in their own self-interest now young people your professors are going to make this try to blur these two and they're distinctly different selfishness is where i focus on myself self-interest is where i do what is best for me by helping someone else so it was in that person's best interest to stay awake nights week after week to develop this app why because they cared about me not a wit they cared about a million of us downloading their app and they would become a millionaire that's what free enterprise does it blesses people for for doing so now while we're on the topic do i care whether or not that suppose now here's so that you'll understand this is 100 of all the economics you'll ever need to know the rest of your life suppose this represents 100 income of any city or a state or nation suppose it represents a hundred dollar bill and let us suppose that that you go to a walmart the most expensive thing in the store is 99 that means you're completely free to choose anything in the store now suppose someone comes along and takes 25 away from you now what happens two things number one you have fewer choices there are some things you can no longer choose thomas jefferson said freedom is having choices the more choices i take away from you the less freedom you have anybody that's ever raised a teenager has had this fight and also if you're not a politician you'll understand this also that the more money i take away from you the lower your standard of living you know i say if you're not with the new york times you would understand that but suppose someone comes along and takes fifty percent of what happens even fewer choices less freedom lower suppose someone comes along takes 75 leaves you with 25 fewer choices less freedom lower so someone comes along and takes it all what do we call a person who works all day and keeps nothing that person is called a slave now only two people can come and take money away from you one is called a criminal he has a gun and he can take money away from you the other is called the government has a gun and it can take money away from you here's the point the impact is the same fewer choices lower standard of living you go to the pay window you walk across the parking lot a fella comes up puts a gun in your ribs says i want 50 of everything that you have you sit home your wife and children this is how much money we have for food clothing and shelter kind of vacation we can take kind of a car we can drive or you make it all the way to your truck you open the paycheck you say uncle sam's already been here half of it's already gone the impact is the same therefore you show me what percentage of the gdp of any city or any state or a nation is taken by government and the principle applies the greater the freedom the greater the wealth the greater the government the greater the poverty now i majored in economics and so they explained to me the reason we're rich is because we have natural resources and temperate climate in a bowl north and south korea same heritage same culture same climate same language north korea got socialism and in the last decade a tenth of the population of the nation starved now you do food clothing and shelter the first thing you do is food they couldn't even do that these sticks and and leaves to fill their stomachs south korea at the end of the korean war third from the bottom poorest spot on earth is now the 10th largest gdp look at your telephone and you can see those people make make things because freedom creates abundance and america brought freedom to south korea now you can make any rich place poor downtown l.a or you can make any poor place rich los angeles south carolina 30 years ago cut taxes and now all the all of the rubber companies that we used to be in in ohio you know i was a state legislator in ohio for for three terms we were number one in new job creations great more state more than any state in the union we elected the governor said we can put a stop to this and so we began to do things and when the last governor took over ohio was 49th out of the 50 states 49th and for the first time in history ohio buckeyes were saying thank god for michigan but nevertheless they you can make any rich place poor or you can make any poor place rich jack i'm going to uh conclude here and we're going to do some questions and answers here's the principle the greater the contribution the greater reward that's why we we honor rich people under free enterprise because they help other folks and we we don't condemn them as they do under socialism what's the point there are two ways to get money one is freely and the other is to take it socialism is stealing what somebody else has it's what god said when you hire somebody make sure you check on that because if they are for coercion if they are for taking people if they are for for coveting what somebody else has don't ever put that push person in a position of of authority finally rewarded and purported our contribution to others and that we're rewarded not because of who we are don't give me this stuff because you're mad at me because i'm a woman of color mr president it has nothing to do with your gender or your skin color it's what you said lady that i'm offended by these this is not because of who you are and when a person runs for office telling you you should vote a certain way because your skin color your gender enough that is unamerican e pluribus unum it's on our daughter it says from many one one that's all we need to know and so you you've got you've got the point um when you control when you control the hospitals the factories the trucks as i said you and can't go into business in a socialist countries therefore you hate the rich and you will vote to take it from them because they got it because of their relationship with the government we believe in freedom to let anybody who wants to wants to achieve something i had the finance minister for india to dinner some years ago at that time the tax on income in india at five thousand dollars above was 95 if those people were so foolish has to go to work the government would take 95 cents and give them a nickel and so when you went all over india you saw all the men sitting around the town square under the ban under the banyan trees playing marjon why because they weren't going to produce now you come to america and you find a group of pharmacists or engineers or whatever you'll find a disproportionate representation of people from india now what happened when they come to america did they suddenly get smart no they got free and when you make it free then they can create wealth and that's the battle between those people in sacramento and want to take make us poor by saying going around getting a tribe of people and promising them something that you produced and if you and i do not register to vote and show up they're going to do to all of california what they've done to downtown l.a and oakland and and san francisco you understand so our founders understood it we hold these truths to be self-evident we talked about truth it's self-evident means if you're blind deaf and dumb you've got to understand this this is you gotta be able to see this that all men are created all men are created and are endowed by their creators so you understand how our founders understood this john 1 1 in the beginning was the word the word was with god and the word was god the same was in the beginning with god all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made and the word became flesh and dwelt among us now who was that christ so christ or the word the creator they're all synonyms they all mean the same man is endowed by jesus christ man is endowed by god man is endowed by his creator where did these rights come from from our creator with certain inalienable rights and among those are life that's why we have to talk about this he said no no i don't know your business is between me and the doctor no no no the purpose of the government in america that to secure these rights the purpose of government in america is to preserve life that's what it does first so don't tell me it's above your pay grade the purpose and you can ask a person running for school board how do you stand on life well that has nothing to do yes it does the purpose of government in america is to protect life then liberty notice the sequence liberty is a precious little value if you're dead you have to have life first then liberty then sewer systems and overpasses and the rest of rifles over his shoulder and he's walking by the principles off and principal said john where are you going with that he says i got a new 30 got six and mr so-and-so wanted to see it he said well when you're finished come back i'd like to see it too it never dawned on them to kill people why because we had thou shalt not kill from from beginning one now we we take that down now i've put magnetometers in in front of all this so what they did was to do away with god and then to get to the point where now they don't even know which bathroom to work now how did that all happen it happened because of quartz with people that didn't respect god and you notice when they took over in congress last january they said you promise to tell the truth the whole truth is nothing but the truth since you're god you don't need to refer to anybody else sure everything i say is going to be true by my truth i've watched oprah by my truth i can do it and so they did away with god now when they do that you end up in the ditch we have leadership in washington the first time in my lifetimes begin to do the right thing and appoint judges there were three 1971 there was a lemon decision that said that the coaches couldn't pray with their football teams because that was interfering there was a decision three weeks ago i said that's nonsense we just we overturned that and it was implied wrongly now let me just tell you as we if you and i if you and i do what we have to do and can do over these next 12 years we can begin to appoint people to replace those judges to restore we can there's no reason there's no reason why we can't have pledge to god and god we trust in his classes there's a standard the right reason why we can't say thou shalt not steal you're talking lgbt what what is t trans and what is be bisexual when you have on the wall thou shalt not commit adultery you cannot be bisexual and not commit adultery by definition and so when they had to get rid of those things first before they could start to do this well we're in the process of swinging it back if you and i do not grow faint do what we can do and should do because we're right and righteousness exalteth the nation sin is our approach to any people when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice in the wicked beareth rule the people mourn blessed is the nation whose god is the lord thank you amen amen let's all stand i want to end with this a lot of kids today and that's why we had today a lot of young people today will say but socialism's in the bible my my my professor said socialism is in the bible i can be a christian and be a socialist it's not in the bible the exact opposites in the bible and today a lot of your young people a lot of your kids are being told that no no remember ananias and sapphira this is the this is the big chapter they go to in acts chapter 4 and acts chapter 5 there the socialism they say that ananias and sapphira had land they sold it they brought the money the proceeds they brought it to the apostles and laid that money at their feet and of course you know the story they lied about the uh profit that they had made uh but the fact that they sold their land and brought the money to the apostles feet laid it there and it was distributed among the poor in the church in jerusalem they say look socialism in the bible uh that's interesting that you would use that first of all number one if you know church history the church in jerusalem wound up starving to death and paul had to take up collections from turkey in asia minor descend to jerusalem because they really made a miscalculation on that one because god had never told them to do that second thing is if they cite that as an act of socialism interesting if you're going to do that ananias and sapphira sold their property and laid it down at the feet of caesar no laid it down at the feet of the roman senate no laid it down to the feet of who the apostles the bible says as the congressman bob said a moment ago thou shalt not steal you have to own something privately and personally before someone can steal it private ownership is in the bible throughout the scriptures jesus gives the various parables about a wise man being a wise investor and with it he can help more people isn't it interesting it was the story of the good samaritan who came along and found a man wounded who had enough money to say here's some money from me help this guy and when he's healthier i'll notify me when i come back by and if you need any other help i'll be happy to pay for that that man was wealthy none of us have ever worked long for a poor man see socialism wants everybody to go to god with a little g government you're either going to tax to the lower lower g god you with this the greatest thing in the world god is so not a socialist that he looked down upon a lost and lonely and hell-bent humanity and the bible says that jesus christ though he were rich left heaven and for us came here and became poor that we through his poverty through his riches we might receive salvation it cost him everything listen this is not a redistribution of wealth jesus brought to us the currency of his blood to forgive us of sin if god were a socialist then he would wave a wand and everybody goes to heaven if you believe in god or not you'd go to heaven anyway no he came and he paid a price and then he turned and he said all those who will believe in me come to me repent of your sin announce to me that you want your sins forgiven and i have paid that price and i will give you as a gift forgiveness it costs god everything to provide the way of salvation for you again if he were a socialist he would just let everybody in because he's not you're living right now today in the greatest human experience and experiment of government that the world has ever seen this country as i said before people are trying to break into this country to live here there's a reason we've got a lot of problems as a nation there's no doubt about it but this is the best messed up place in the world to live in and you need to register to vote and you need to vote and you need to find out what's going on and you're standing in a church that is 100 committed to giving you the most educated vote and influence possible he said well that's illegal no it's not it's not illegal just so few churches do it it's a bummer they thank you because you're the ones that are involved you should make the decisions for your children's sex education you should make the decision on what you're going to pay for this and that it's your choice be responsible stand up and take that mantle because that's how america works will we pass it on to the next generation it all depends on how we steward the great lesson we've learned here today we are all to be stewards of this thing called liberty father we thank you for jesus christ the author of liberty the giver of freedom by going to the cross and dying on the cross for our sins paying the price that we have the opportunity to say lord forgive me i come to you i acknowledge your gift i acknowledge your sacrifice and i receive you as my lord and savior i have sinned your holy and righteous i need this great great salvation because jesus died on the cross and rose again from the dead exactly as the bible says he's living now today friend and he's able to forgive you of everything if you just come to him and you do that by calling out to him by going to him even right now in seconds of time and saying lord forgive me i want to give you my life and the the reigns to my life and i want to live for you forevermore come to christ today let us know that tell us today that you've made that decision or call the church this week and say i've made that decision on sunday i want to follow jesus we'll get bible into your hand we'll get helps into your hand and we'll point you in your new walk with christ father thank you for bob
