Is China our ENEMY?

a serious question is China rarely our friend or is China our enemy it's strange that I've never actually pondered this question after spending most of my adult life in mainland China marrying a Chinese doctor and now having a half Chinese daughter I finally find myself facing this very real and scary question is the country that I dedicated so much of my life to explored so fully intimately learn the language and culture of is this country and more specifically the government of this country my enemy as a very young man I was exposed to East Asian culture through my father's business dealings I must have been around seven or eight years old when we were invited to the home of my father's Taiwanese client I was very impressed at the time I didn't understand or know anything about Asian culture their home was so different the decorations that tatami mats on the floor it was the first time I'd ever seen a Famicom Japanese Nintendo and the first time I got to play Mario Brothers but one thing that really drew a lot of respect for me was that although they had a son around my age they also had a younger son he must have been only around four or five years old he was in another room and wasn't allowed to play Mario Brothers until he completed what looked like incredibly complex and difficult calligraphy I couldn't believe that someone half my age was able to comprehend and write such intricate and complicated characters this really earned my respect later we were taken to a very fancy Chinese restaurant run by a friend of their family it was very upper-class and authentic the memory of that food really stuck with me at the end of the meal our host mr. Liang gave my mother a very intricate tin of Chinese tea to take home and although to be honest my parents didn't like the tea the intricate red and gold tin still takes pride of place in my mother's kitchen [Music] what I'm getting at here is that the experience I had at that very young age in that Taiwanese home in Cape Town and that Taiwanese restaurant really stuck with me I had been given a glimpse of true Chinese culture later during my early adult years I also made a lot of Taiwanese friends in South Africa at that time there was a very large Taiwanese community I even started a Japanese pop culture magazine with two of my very best friends an Indian South African and a Taiwanese South African sadly I would learn the hard way that Taiwan and mainland China although from a common root are in fact completely different the home we had visited in my youth the tatami mats the beautiful artwork on the wall were of course all due to the very heavy Japanese influence Taiwan absorbed during all those years of occupation the intricate and beautiful characters the young boy was practicing were traditional Chinese characters which were completely phased out in mainland China in favor of mr. mouths simplified Chinese as he waged war against Chinese culture and all but destroyed it but there were still remnants of what I'd experienced to be found in mainland China the generous host culture the food and of course the people I did not at any point ever think of China or Chinese people in any way as my enemy I have always had due to that early experience a very healthy level of respect for East Asian culture mainland China however would slowly beat that out of me I will defend to my dying breath the lovely people and friends I've made throughout mainland China the common man but the CCP well the CCP can get bent the Chinese government are a bunch of sneaky underhanded Fairweather friends who are only ever friendly in order to take advantage of you this corrupt and fierce regime is the exact same regime that is responsible for the mass starvation and calamity of the Chinese people only a few decades ago this is the same government that ordered the tanks to roll into Tiananmen Square the same government that sent death buses around the country to force abortions in the rural areas often forcing very late term abortions eight nine month old pregnant women who would have their labor forcefully induced and the infant's drowned after birth the same government that has no law against animal cruelty and no consideration towards the government and well-being of other nations China is the least charitable country in the world this is a disgusting and heartless government I have witnessed firsthand the destruction of minority culture the wholesale forced relocation and manhandling of rural Chinese citizens the utter control over the flow of information by banning any sort of access to news that isn't censored and approved by the CCP the constant stoking of hatred towards the outside world all through forced propaganda in schools and in the media this government is not a friend to anyone not even its own people this we will talk about at more length but for now I can say unequivocally and with absolute certainty that although the Chinese people are our friends the Chinese Communist Party the Chinese CCP government is 100% without a doubt our very grave enemy you
