IRONMAN 70.3 OREGON RACE WEEKEND - worlds qualification + course preview

i just wanted another shot and found this brand new race up in oregon it's like a nine hour drive for us and i'm literally just going to do this race to qualify for worlds [Laughter] my pt told me that we gotta stop a couple of times that i can stretch on the way i'm wearing my compression socks are you wearing your compression socks no it's jenna's turn to drive i lost my keys oh i need the window open it's so hot in here don't open the window it's like 100 degrees sorry it's 97 where do i go north we thought we'd make a little stop for dinner in guadalajara mexico do you have my what no do i have my wallet you believe her beer for me water jenna [Music] this is stop one we're in ashland ashland oregon do we have the nd filters good look at that filter morning stand up [Music] all right it's friday morning we drove like five six hours yesterday i'm gonna work from the car miguel's gonna drive us the rest of the way up to salem i'm going to do a little shakeout run this morning 95 minutes easy yeah hope the legs are feeling fresh in a couple days let's go here he is he's so fast [Music] bye just finished the ashland oregon track workout on this beautiful black hilly track turn around and go catch jenna [Music] how are the legs feeling a little stiff yeah that's what seven hours in a car will do to you what are you going to do some pickups are going to hurt myself jenna's waiting to do her hiccups on the down co portion of the track [Music] bye [Music] here we are at iron man 70.3 oregon it is a beautiful day here at the race menu we are checking in it is approximately 11 fifteen okay well i decided to ride the oregon racecourse [Music] [Applause] [Music] i think i ran over this has little wires sticking out it's very unfortunate that i have to make jenna who's racing tomorrow drive out here and rescue me but otherwise i'd be stranded sag hoping that miguel's flat tire takes away any shot of me getting a flat tire tomorrow sacrifice this is a fast course i mean let's let's [Music] see [Music] whoa careful sorry something's messed up and now she's making me drive her home which is understandable should we ride it all right here we go everybody's gonna flag your ride [Music] jenna freaking hoffler listen to her does she have her dancing shoes [Music] there's so much money in this sport this is what happens when your two hobbies are triathlon and filmmaking [Music] i'm just upset about my leg it'll feel good you just gotta believe i just i don't know what to do to make it feel better it feels like it's stemming from my back where are we going to the cafe the walk to the start of the race is definitely more than whatever they advertised it out it feels like a three mile trek what is that men's pomade is that what you use instead of cause you know you gotta look at that good transition justin bye see you guys all right i think they probably just started now i'm trying to get back i'm gonna join you guys in the jog to transition we're doing great guys [Music] there you go go go [Music] so all right jenna how did jenna do how did she look look at me how did she look [Music] did she look good look fast hey dude she was fourth in her age group 21-19 she looked good she looked comfortable getting out of the bike now water matching her speed how many people do you think she's gonna have to beat top five or six all right dude talk to you later i'm gonna change and go for a run that's what we do here probably got about an hour until i need to be back [Music] halfway into the bike jenna is first in her age group quickly moved to the front on the bike building a solid lead i wonder if i ran on the race course people would cheer for me [Music] didn't realize how much trail there was on this course looks like we're entering back on the pavement it is a beautiful run course shaded pretty much the entire time i'm kind of sad i have to turn around we got work to do [Music] first guy coming in he brought his lunch with him a banana interesting technique whatever works right [Applause] all right jenna you're you're ripping right now you're winning your age group by like three minutes the run is beautiful i
