[Music] welcome everyone to our interview i'm levi golden i'm the director of promotions and i'm joined here with our youth president brother drew galloway and our guest speaker brother victor jackson and this interview is going to be very simple we're not going to uh maybe stick to the plan it's just a conversational we're just going to have a conversation with our guest speaker last night we were eating dinner and we had a lot of interesting conversations popped up so i was like let's push pause and let's film this because i feel like there's a lot of students that just want to have a real conversation uh with our youth president and our guest speaker brother victor jackson and i know when we did the instagram live it was so well received y'all asked us to do another one so here we are thank you guys for joining us today and um i just got we're going to start off with the question last night brother jackson spoke on brokenness and um i just want to know and i bet some students are wanting to ask the same question during the season of brokenness what can a student do to go through that season and was there ever a season in your life that you were broken uh to where you had to figure out how do i get through this season so god can because god's blessing you during that season but how can you mentally and spiritually get through that broken season and what a great question what an honor it is to be here with your youth president and promotions director had an amazing time last night the allstate youth choir was tremendous just anointed by god we stayed and prayed for a while probably long after the cameras were off brokenness will come into every young person's life and it's important that we respond in the right manner i've seen people when they go through brokenness it literally pushes them to bitterness it pushes them into a victim mentality where it's woe is me i'm never gonna do this and and the devil wants to keep us there the devil wants to keep us in that place of being defensive being victimized where we never see the goodness that god wants to bring out of it so we have to understand why brokenness even comes into our life and one of the reasons is that it produces dependency number one and it will lead to surrender and yielding when those broken seasons come in my life i don't try to fight them see some people they try to behave like i'm not being broken and they make sure the tie is in place the everything's perfect they want to appear uh good before everyone else but that kind of delays the blessing that's going to come out of this season and so what i've learned is when i feel like i'm entering into a broken season i don't fight it i just yield i'm saying god what do you want to teach me god what are you wanting to pour into me and what are you wanting to take out of me because in those broken times it seems like god shakes us and when he shakes us if i shake this coffee coffee is going to start coming out now when people are shaking stuff starts coming out and they say oh that was the devil god's like oh no that that ain't the devil that that's you that's that that's your bitterness that's your unforgiveness that's that's your lust coming to the surface uh when you when you're shaking and so we have to see what god is trying to get out of us and what he wants to put in us it's it's interesting when jesus went through his uh 40-day wilderness whenever he met uh whenever he was being tempted uh before uh he started his ministry you know the enemy was trying to shake him hoping some impurity would come out of him he shakes them and he says why don't you turn these stones to bread why don't you why don't you worship me i'll give you all these kingdoms and it's amazing as he's trying to shake jesus who jesus was starts coming out and who jesus was he says it is written it is written man shall not live by bread alone but for every word is perceived out of the mouth it is written you shall not tempt the lord your god all that could come out of him was the pure word of god because that's what he was when he was shaken so when we're shaking who we are comes out the enemy tried to shake him again in gethsemane with with the betrayal that was imminently coming to him and while he's being shaken in gethsemane he sweats great drops of blood hemohydrosis where you reach such a state of stress that blood begins to seep out of your pores so jesus was shaking again and who he was comes out and blood starts coming out the word and the blood was shown when he was shaken and who we are will come out whether some people think they're doing good and then they get that phone call a broken phone call and it's like hold on what did you say yeah it's almost like something rises in you and it's like ah and god's like you see that's what i need you to work on because that's been the thing preventing you from blessing and i allow this person to provoke brokenness to you yeah that you might see your hindrances right so brokenness becomes a revealer of what's on the inside of us so we have to yield to that god what are you trying to teach me when job was in his broken season and the friends were trying to find things with them the bible says that job started answering his friends getting agitated and said hey i'm not inferior to any of you he said he said i know just as much as you guys so we saw something in joe's brokenness where there was a pride in job that wasn't addressed until it didn't rise to the surface until he entered his broken season the last thing god spoke to job out of the whirlwind was children of pride and when job heard that word pride he said i repent i abhor myself you know all things i don't know anything and the lord turned the captivity of job and so i yield god teach me i'm not going to fight this i'm not going to pretend like everything's perfect in my life i'm yielding to you in this process teach me what you want to teach me and i think that's just instrumental uh to surviving any of y'all want to add on to that i think you know i think it's key because most of the time when when we experience brokenness our natural tendency is to try to cover it up to hide it because we're so bent on appearing as if we're whole i think there's this pressure that students are facing that we face as ministers that that we want to appear whole because we feel like in appearing whole we seem successful we seem strong but i think it's in those seasons of brokenness not only does god remove what doesn't need to be there but i think he also allows things to be released uh to go into minister to other people you think if you have something in the container like the coffee when you break it what's inside begins to spill out and i think it's in those seasons of brokenness that god allows his spirit to be released through us yes because i think in a state of brokenness you can minister to people in such a unique way because everyone's broken right and so we don't have to pretend like we're so whole that we can identify with anyone because humanity and brokenness are synonyms we're all broken uh and so i think in those seasons of brokenness god is not only removing things but he's also releasing things i think about in genesis 27 uh jacob you know he's dealt with all this stuff in his life he's a deceiver he's a planter in genesis 27 he goes to his father and he pretends to be his brother esau he pretends to be something he's not he's he's this whole man and he puts on the skins and he deceives his father and he gets the birthright gets the blessing of the father but then in genesis 32 the bible says that he's left alone and they're wrestled with him a man and what's interesting is the one question that jacob's father asked him is who are you who are you reveal your identity to me and he said i'm esau so in that moment he felt like the only way to get something from the father was to be someone else so instead of omitting what was wrong he pretended to be something else yeah right but then when he wrestled with the man with the angel whatever it was in genesis 32 it's interesting because he was asked the same question tell me your name same question reveal your identity so in that moment jacob had a choice a few chapters earlier he said i'm esau he tried to be someone else to get something from the father but this time he's wrestling with something different and so he has to admit my name is jacob and so in admitting his true identity god revealed a new identity he said okay now that you've admitted who you really are now that you've admitted your brokenness god touched the hollow of his side so there was a brokenness that he lived with but in the midst of the brokenness god revealed something to him and he said you're no more going to be called jacob with israel because now you're going to have favor with god and with man yeah and what i've learned is god can't heal what we don't reveal and so so many times we come into church and you know we look so nice and we're we have these masks on that we're whole but we're broken and that brokenness can never be healed it can never be used because we're masking it behind the mask of wholeness when we're we're not whole right and i think it needs you know students need to understand uh number one that it's okay to be broken that we've all been broken but also god never wastes brokenness yeah he always uses brokenness any time in the scripture like you heard last night brother jackson talked about the miracle with the five loaves and the bread when he broke it it multiplied and it began to feed a multitude of people so we think we're better off in a state of wholeness but god's really saying like you said last night i can use you more when you're broken yeah i can do more through you when you allow me to break you and there have been seasons in my life in in things even that i dealt with before coming to god that i always thought was a hindrance i always thought that it was a problem but the longer that i serve god the more i realize god using those very things that i detest and i despise and those moments where i'm most vulnerable i'm most susceptible to that to my brokenness god says i can use that more than you pretending to be whole so i think there needs to come this authentic approach that god this is who i am this is what i'm dealing with i'm not trying to impress anybody you know where i'm at anyway and and that's the almost the irony we try to come into a service and pretend when god's like i know what's really going on yeah right like you can't fool a god who knows everything right but in trying to fool god and fool other people we're robbing ourselves of opportunities of healing of god using us to not just remove something but to release something uh and so i think just last night that message to breaking a bread and ministered to me so deeply i know to all of you that are that are listening uh brokenness is something that i think everyone can relate to yeah so don't try to mask something that god will use to minister to people yeah don't try to cover something up that god will use to flow out of you to help people so true um was there ever a season in your life where you found yourself broken how did you get through that season and i'll just i'll just kind of give a little bit of my testimony really quick just to get real um uh when i was 12 my mom passed away of cancer on the day after christmas and so i went through a season of my teenage years dealing with depression and anxiety and like you're talking about i hid it i would show up to church with the mask on saying everything's right everything's okay um but in reality it wasn't and and so i dealt with depression and anxiety but when i found myself brother stone king came and preached a message and um that night is where i turned my life around i found myself in an altar and i was praying to god and i said god where are you i don't feel you anymore i need to feel you i need to know where you're at because i've lived in a season of brokenness i've been hiding it but you have seen that i've been broken and so i made this statement to god i said god i i need you to be more i need you to be like my father i need you to hold my hand and walk with me through these through these times i don't just need to just be able to pray to you i need you to be my father and hold my hand through this path and so god spoke to me and said i've been here but you have not been with me and so what i found is that i've been hiding and masking my brokenness but when i came to the altar and said god i'm sacrificing everything my life is i want your will to be in my life yeah and so that's when everything turned around at that point i totally was 100 on board a couple years later i got married and then i felt the call to ministry wow so was there ever a time in your life that that you just found yourself broken that god helped you through that season what a powerful story man i i feel the holy ghost so strong because that's really where brokenness leads you it leads you to that confession right you're my father yeah right i need your help i can't do this alone i can't survive this alone i need your help and to be honest with you god probably brings me to that place i'd say at least once a year for anywhere from two to four months god will bring me into a broken place where he brings me back to that source that he's the only thing that matters his plan is the only thing that matters and i can think back in my life on several occurrences where i reached that broken place but i could talk about growing up and just the abuse of childhood that i was raised in and all of these things but i remember when i came into the church and god told me to give up my college basketball scholarships and to follow him and i had in my mind this rosy picture of how it was going to work and how i was going to be used of god and all these things but god had to bring me through a broken season to begin to take some things out of me that weren't right and i had a sports mentality a mentality of anything i put my mind to if i am determined enough i'm gonna do it i'm gonna i'm gonna get it done and it's like god had to break me to show me the uh futile nature of my efforts that aren't clothed by his spirit uh the futile nature of my flesh uh of my pride of my arrogance that i got from being in sports and so uh when i gave it up and i had to work on a golf course maintenance living paycheck to paycheck barely surviving nobody cared where i was nobody cared that i gave up this sport and all i had was him right all i had was him and he was like victor there's got to be some things that comes out of you and then there's going to be some things that i pour into you and you have to know that i'm more than enough to meet this need and that's what happened with job whenever he lost everything he lost his money he lost his reputation he lost his family and the first thing job did was worship and i and ask god god how could job worship when he lost everything and god said it's because he didn't lose everything right he still had his relationship with me wow and brokenness will begin to break down every other influence where it down to just you and god and where you realize in that place god is sufficient god is all i need and job said you know what my trust wasn't in my money my trust wasn't in my family my trust wasn't in any of those things he said i came into this world with nothing i'm going to leave this world with nothing but blessed be the name of the lord and that broken season stripped me down to god being my source and my help and my and my redeemer and that that was all i need and all those other things that would come would be added blessings and things that he'd put in my life but the truth of the matter is what genesis 15 says is he says that i am your exceeding great reward and the reward is greater than any promise that i could give you any anything that i could give you and uh and every year he brings me down to that place and i and i don't fight it i just yield to it i surrender to it because like brother drew said i know that god is going to release ministry through me where i'll be able to relate uh to people that are hurting and broken yeah and that's what god's doing to every young person that's listening right now and that broken season god is trying to show you that he is sufficient that his grace is sufficient that his mercy is everlasting and he's going to help you through this if you start looking for stop looking for outs some people try to abort the broken season wow and they'll go into a relationship yeah yeah because they're so lonely and never be like i just need something to help me through this brokenness and so they'll get in a ungodly relationship a relationship that they know isn't right uh they'll start entertaining things that they know they shouldn't just to survive the pain of brokenness i'm just saying allow god to work wow don't run to a relationship don't run to your education don't run to to entertainment right run to him yeah and he's gonna get glory out of it yeah awesome um so when online camp is done with because normally when we have camps that's like a motivation yeah right that's a momentum for students but this is a different season that we're end and when online camp is done with what should students be doing for the next six months or to a year what should they be doing during this season because you know we're not getting to go to camps or statewides and have that momentum so what should they be doing right now uh you know i believe that they should be preparing they should be investing their whole selves into the house of god into a life of servanthood um what an incredible opportunity to get some disciplines in our prayer lives yeah what an incredible opportunity to get some disciplines in our study habits to develop a consecration i will say this that the louisiana district and their young people has such a special deep anointing upon them that is almost scary right it's really deep it's honestly beyond years i'm listening to these young people sing last night and i'm like yeah they are singing beyond their years like you're not supposed to be operating in that type of anointing at that early of an age but they are and what happens is that that gift from god that anointing can become a crutch where they don't put the disciplines and the structure and the habits in place to sustain it provoke it and grow it right and so that's the risk in the louisiana district you guys have so much anointing here that is like why pray more why fast more why read more look i'm already changing lives with this and that's true but if you want to develop that maturity in your walk with god to sustain this where this thing can last for a lifetime see god gives these gifts to provoke you into relationship he gives these things as almost like almost like hey there's a lot more where that came from yeah right and so he's using these anointings as an invitation to draw close and say there's unsearchable riches within me if you'll go after me and i feel like god is compelling this district to develop that structure that those old-timers had that intercession you know people like to say well you know it's a new generation and you know we need to do new things to welcome in this new time it's amazing that when john was going to usher in a new dispensation of grace the bible says he came in the spirit of elijah and our in order to welcome in something new he got saturated with something old wow so god is drawing this district to go back to the basics go back to the roots of prayer fasting consecration and what god is going to do is he's going to put on us an old spirit to usher in a new dimension a new a new level a a new place uh like never before and so i feel that if we will go into that prayer and fast and get strategic with it have a structure i i talked about on the instagram live with brother drew several weeks ago about getting a bible plan yeah download the youversion bible app there are plans there are seven day plans 14 day plans get in the word of god it's going to begin to conform your thoughts it's going to begin to get in your heart that you may not sin against god get into the word of god and it'll heal things it'll put things together and give yourself to your pastor's vision i'm telling you what i tell people if god gives you a dream that dream is going to be fulfilled when you decide to give a hundred ten percent to the local church right give yourself to the local church where i am today it's because i gave myself to my pastor's vision i gave myself to the local church i showed up for church work days you're not too anointed to not to show up for church work days come on somebody yeah god will give you some messages while you're pulling those weeds come on somebody god will give you some messages while while you're cleaning the bathroom while you're doing look look folks i i washed my pastor's car my pastor was uncomfortable with that he did my pastor doesn't like that but i would wash my pastor's car like all the time i would show up and walk i'm fulfilling that vision servanthood is not a destination servanthood is a journey so you never stop being a servant so people can look at me as like well victor jackson he doesn't need to serve anymore no i'm still servant whatever my pastor needs today i'm doing it just like i did before i ever preached because i understand that is the place of anointing i understand that is the place of blessing i understand that's god's will yeah for our lives to be a servant so invest yourself in the local church i might preach a little bit on that tonight but that is so vital for us to involve ourselves so let this online camp give you a renewed commitment to getting behind your pastor's vision right doing whatever you can to help in the youth group whether wha whatever it is you can do something and let me tell you if your church right now is closed down you can still show up and pull some weeds yeah right yeah come on somebody i think there's plenty of social distancing you know happening outside by yourself come on pulling some pulling some weeds cleaning the house doing whatever your hands find to do yeah do it with all your heart and mind and god's gonna bless it that's so good anything you want to add yeah wow that's so good i think we need a pause and just allow that to digest uh i'm a big proponent in the local church and serving uh i feel like everything i do is a product of that right when i got uh when i got into church 10 years ago when i didn't know what else to do and just simply reading the scripture i learned that jesus was attracted to servants and i that attracted his attention and so i that's what i started to do i started serving my pastor serving the church and for me it was like there was no job beneath me like scrub the toilets take the trash wash pastor's truck whatever i could do i wanted to i couldn't sing i was terrible at singing i shouldn't say i was terrible at singing i am terrible at singing that hadn't gotten any better over the years there's something yeah there's a connection there i can't sing as well so i don't feel like to all of you multi-talented people really no i'm not terrible yeah i'm the in the parables of the talent you have the one talent in god that's us three and i'm i guess i'm still trying to find my one talent but that's all i got so i couldn't sing i wasn't preaching at the time i wasn't the usher oh my god what can i do i'll do what no one wants to do i'll do those jobs and so i would scrub the toilets and i can remember i i shared this on the live preaching to the garbage can not even my own message a message i rehearsed from brother scott graham that he had preached i listen to so much because i was just i wanted to make an impact and that's how i could make an impact i didn't have a lot to offer but this is what i said i'm going to offer everything i have yeah but i think it's important in these seasons you read the disciples in the gospels they're they're not out on the boat fishing they're on the shore and the bible says they're tending their nets right what are they doing they're making preparation for what's coming right they could have left those nets broken and then when they went out to get the harvest it wouldn't have held the harvest but what they did in a downtime in a season where not a lot was going on they tended the nets they made preparation for what's going to come and i think it you're looking so many times in scriptures where there's like this holding season where god will take a person they're going to he's going to use and hold them whether it's moses whether it's the apostle paul go into the desert or wherever he went along for a few years even jesus christ we we mentioned this on the live he was kind of in obscurity for the first 30 years of his life and then he has a three and a half year ministry so his preparation to ministry you know was you know 30 years preparation three years of ministry you know we want to reverse that you know we want to do three years of preparation with 30 years of ministry but even jesus subjected himself to the process i know we've talked a lot about the process but i think this is a great time to like he said develop those disciplines is to make preparation for what's coming right if you want god to use you in the shadows right now you could be doing what you're supposed to do i always say in the kingdom of god there are no overnight successes right it may look like that one day david's the king right but what you don't see is he's tending the sheep he's doing the stuff that no one wants to do even when he goes to fight the giant he would not leave the sheep unattended because he said this is an assignment i have for my father i take care of the sheep seems like a small thing to be the one to get there early to cut the lights on right it seems like a small thing to get there early and make sure that the screens are ready seems like a small thing to get the pulpit for your password seems like a small thing to get there make sure the facility's clean you're the first one there you're tending the sheep and when god gave him an opportunity to go make public what he was doing private he left the small thing in the hand of someone that can take care of it david didn't say okay i'm going to the valley to defeat the giant so i'm going to forget about the sheep the bible said he left them in the hands of the keeper he said i know that god's given me other opportunities but i'm going to make sure this is taken care of right yeah and i've seen that come in the past in my own life where i'm not as i'm not as uh at home as much and there are people that i've worked with to make sure that hey if i'm out of town make sure pastor was taken care of and and i had to do that in a season where i was always home to make preparation for times when i'm not home as much yeah same thing for you you're not at souls harbor your home church near as much and so it's a different season but you know you make preparations and so i think this is a great time to make preparation you know if noah would have started building the boat when it started raining guess what he's going to he's not going to make it right but because he made preparation before the flood him and his family could be saved so if you use this season right now that you despise that you're uncomfortable with to prepare right something's going to come after this is a season it will change it will shift there will be a turning point and what's going to matter is who made preparations in this season and you'll benefit from that in the next season yeah yeah that's so good someone said that you know it takes many years to become an overnight success yes you know because of the preparation and i told someone years ago you know too many people are destroyed by something i like to call the sunday anointing yes someday god's going to use me yeah someday god's going to open the door yeah i said but they never allow their someday to affect today wow and if you never allow your someday to affect today you'll never see your someday so you got to be so persuaded of someday that you do something today yeah to prepare for some day and so it's that preparation it's that right now i live in a constant state of preparation i'm preparing for the next season yeah i'm always preparing so you got to get persuaded young people that god's going to use you yes that god has a plan for you and once you get persuaded of it it's going to push you to start developing that craft developing that discipline but some of you and i feel this right now in the holy ghost aren't persuaded you know you're kind of half hazard you're not convinced therefore you don't have the energy to put into preparation you got to get persuaded of the promise and when you get so persuaded it's going to compel you to prepare yeah you got to get that in your mind it's going to happen if you got a prophecy if you got a word from god if your pastor spoke something into your life that wasn't god teasing you that wasn't god playing around with you that wasn't god joking with you he wants to do it but you got to get so persuaded of it that he's going to do it that you start getting your life in alignment that dictates who you marry come on i'm i'm in trouble now that that's that takes who you you're not just gonna choose anybody yeah yeah well you got that type of prophecy hanging over you hey before i started uh told my uh wife before we started courting before she even knew that i liked her i mean i had a whole questionnaire for where you see yourself in five years come on can you see yourself traveling yeah because because i'm not i know god told me i was going to be evangelizing yeah so i'm not going to marry somebody that doesn't want to be on the road and wants to stay home right so she doesn't even know i like her and i asked that question yeah i said so where do you i said do you like traveling i was just bring like do you like traveling and she's like she's like it would be a dream to travel that's one of the things i wanted to do my whole life and i was just like oh really interesting interesting and i had to make sure her life aligned with my promise when you're courting when you're looking for somebody you got to make sure their life aligns with where you're headed and one of the greatest ways to make sure is ask your pastor pastor's wife hey what do you think about so and so yeah right yeah and uh some of y'all you don't want to do that because you know they're going to be like they're no good for you come on somebody yeah but that's why god gives you a shepherd uh to protect the promise over you and to protect that preparation season so you can come out unscathed and untainted by the power of god come on i'm gonna just tag on the lightning something we've talked about if your relationship is a secret it's probably not the will of god right if your pastor doesn't know or use pastor doesn't know who you're dating he's probably not the will of god if you're keeping it a secret but i just want to say one more thing before we transition on preparation i often tell our students and any student get a chance when preparation meets opportunity it seems like it's destiny but when prepper when unpreparation meets opportunity it's disappointment because i believe there are doors god wants to open but he's waiting on you to be ready right there was a couple years ago at the end of the year i was praying and god spoke to me and said i wanted to take you somewhere but you're not ready i'm waiting on you right he said i'm wanting to take you to a place but i'm waiting on you to be prepared for it and i came out of that prayer man i went home and i talked to my wife about i began to write some things down that i felt like i needed to work on because i don't want god waiting on me in the sense that i'm not willing to do what it takes so when preparation meets opportunity it's destiny but when unpreparation meets opportunity it's disappointment wow so good well just for the sake of time we're gonna transition to the next segment and uh i'm gonna what i'm gonna do i'm gonna ask kim i'm gonna do rapid fire questions it's a little bit of a game we're gonna transition into to uh make things a little funny here but um i'm gonna give him a one word uh a statement or a one word and he's gonna preach a three minute sermon off of that or two or three minute sermon off that can you do that i i let's do it okay rapid fire just one word and he's gonna preach off that one word so if i said the word rocks is there anything that would come to your mind as a sermon rocks rocks that can go to preparation uh david uh whenever he was going to slay goliath he didn't get a rock he got several rocks that's preparation just in case one misses yeah i have several i have several more to use and later in second samuel it showed that there were other giants uh that were possibly related to goliath yeah uh there were four other giants that were possibly related to goliath and so i think david didn't know if he killed goliath if four more giants might come out he had enough rocks to slay any giant that could come into his life yeah and so you have to get that preparation to where you got more than enough to destroy the devil not just the bare minimum yeah of one rock but as many rocks as possible that's awesome okay if i said the word coffee um coffee um i can go into preparation there me and darren gilbert years ago uh we went into the starbucks reserve and i had my coffee uh that was my first time there so i just got my coffee brewed darren gilbert gets the same coffee but he gets it siphoned yeah and we drink my my coffee and he says you want to taste mine i said sure he gave me some his i tasted it it's the same coffee but his tasted a thousand times better than mine did but it the only difference was how it was prepared and um and so i realized that that's when i got the revelation that keurig wasn't real coffee right yeah that come on my microwave coffee quick coffee doesn't taste as good come on then prepared coffee and um there was there was and i could go into that deep or should i stop waiting for the next one i'll stop i could go into that i could go into that pretty deep coffee is a big love of brother jackson's life so he could expound on that oh yeah i i could i could explore that moment okay i'm gonna make a little bit uh harder for you if i said gumbo gumbo then then you gotta go to preparation somebody is getting a word about preparation right now prepare gumbo mama mama you know gumbo it's it's when you're making gumbo you're not making gumbo that's just sufficient for today come on you're making gumbo yeah for there to be an overflow yes sir you're making gumbo for there to be more tomorrow more the next day you got to prepare so much that your cup overflows that we're not just getting off on the bear bare minimum but we're getting we're we're getting something that goes several days uh several days lasting several days to meet whatever trial meet whatever situation and so that's what i would say with gumbo so i'm gonna make it even harder we're gonna go to titles i'm gonna give you a title um but before i do is there a certain is there a favorite sermon you've ever heard like a sermon title that you've ever heard um you know i think one of the most impactful messages i've heard that really helped me especially my first year in church was calvin jean preached a message called protecting your anointing and uh and it changed it changed my life it really helped me uh it was just a powerful message i could go i could literally i can literally almost quote verbatim like the opening of that message yeah and and maybe even do it in his voice but yeah protecting your anointing is a great message drew is there a certain sermon yeah you know um i love sermon titles i i wish i were a bit more creative in developing them i feel like mine are sometimes pretty generic and vanilla uh but there was a message that jimmy tony preached called the dual nature of christianity and he talked about how christ had a dual nature he was fully god and fully man uh and that the lamb and the lion and he played the sound of a lamb through the speakers at youth camp and just you know this the sound of a lamb he said this isn't very intimidating he said if you see a lamb running through the street no one it's not gonna make a lot of noise oh look at the little lamb he's like i can pet the little lamb mary had a little lamp but he said if you go home and there's a lion on the loose in your city yeah he said everybody will know about it and then he played the roar of that lion to the sound system and man that moment that was eight years ago but same thing i can preach that message because i listen to it so much but that moment is forever embedded in my spirit like it just changed my life and you know that week he preached uh so many he's a sermon title uh just genius you know he he has an amazing ability he preaches uh the successes uh and uh stupidity of of of samson you know that we key priest on that and so he has the ability to craft these messages but that is one message that uh forever changed my life and even my pastor has the ability he pretty snow white in the seven dwarves he preached how the blood makes you white and seven things that try to dwarf you he preached set me in the smoking section uh you like when you go to a restaurant do you want to be in the smoke in a non-smoke and he said hey when i'm in church i want to be in the smoking section i want to be where the fire's at so he has him he preached the greatest showman at the youth service the real greatest showman so he has the unique ability to come up with the most amazing titles so i think this will be fun we're just going to give brother jackson the title uh you know we all have messages that he's preached that have impacted us obviously if you were at youth congress a few years back when he preached a call to greatness a life-changing defining moment for really our whole entire movement and so brother levi is just going to give him a title and he doesn't know what's coming this isn't staged we didn't like before we got here we didn't be like hey this is what we're going to say he has a sermon title that he doesn't know what it is and he's going to give us about a three-minute message and we're going to find out that brother jackson can really preach on anything so my first sermon title that i'm going to give him is in the room in the room this woman in second kings four she is battled with the situation where the creditor has come to take her take her kids away from her and she's so troubled by what's going on because her two kids are going to be taken as bond men and she is so afraid of this adversity that she cries out to the prophet like prophet i need your help like what are we going to do and the prophet says what's in your house what's in your house and you have a space in your house that you've got something valuable that's going to be able to meet the need of this adversity what's in the room well all i've got is just a little oil yeah that's enough that's sufficient to meet the need of adversity for today that little pot of oil in your room is enough and so that's what i would say to not look at the outside for the answer you don't have to go to the world for the answer to the work to the world's problems you just got to start looking in the room start looking in the house start looking in the prayer room wow start looking in those places in the church because we have what it takes to meet the need of a broken world another time with the widow she gets blessed with the child and the child dies he says my head my head she goes lazed her dead child in the prophet's room and the prophet went back to the room the same room that he told her the miracle was going to happen was the same room that the miracle died and it was the same room that the miracle came back alive don't blame the room for your trouble because the same room that tragedy happens is the same room that a miracle can happen in the same room that a resurrection could happen just stay plugged into the room because miracles can happen there so you can't preach on anything okay we got to make this a little harder okay that was a little easy for him because wow that was incredible um if i said the sermon title wait for it wait for it jesus commissions 500 to go to wait in the upper room for the promise of the father he says i want you to go to jerusalem and wait he understood that the waiting season would disperse the full from the hungary he understood that not everyone would show up because some of them would be destroyed in the waiting season he said i want to see who's hungry here go to jerusalem and wait for it go to jerusalem and wait for it and he understood that the waiting season would become a winnowing process those that were hungry would continue to wait and those that were distracted would disperse he commissioned 500 only 120 showed up and were willing to wait why because there was a festival going on there were families gathering together there were parties there were distractions but those that were willing to wait for it their lives were changed forever something happens when we wait on the lord and the waiting decides who's hungry and who's full if we wait for it we're willing we're willing to to do whatever it takes to get from god some of the greatest things happening in the waiting season pentecost came when people were waiting remember they received the holy ghost not standing up they received it sitting down they were sitting down waiting on it and their lives were changed yeah wow okay i'm going to end it on this last one okay say no to this say no to this say no to this the temptation of samson is samson what was unique about samson is that samson didn't have the ability to say no he was enticed over and over with the first woman she wanted to know the riddle what's the riddle please tell me he couldn't say no to her his emotions were wrapped up so much in that relationship even though he knew a yes would hinder his anointing even though he knew a yes would hinder his anointing he couldn't he couldn't say no he couldn't say no he knew that the no would protect the riddle but he didn't have the capacity to say no to this manipulative person so he said yes they figured out the riddle a down spiral of pain and now he's in with uh delilah the valley of sorek and he goes to the valley of sorek and delilah's there and she says hey give me the secret of your strength all he has to say is no my goodness all he has to say is no and it's over yeah but in that whole time he couldn't say a two-letter word that could protect his destiny that could protect his future they could deliver the nation of israel all he had to do was utter it but you know he just played around with it he said why don't you why don't you wrap me up in seven seven green widths you know what what is a green with with is a is an uh an undried animal intestine samson wasn't supposed to touch anything that was dead wow but he's playing with his calling he knew he was still anointed even though he he he would entertain these certain things that could destroy his anointing then he then he gets closer to his covenant when that didn't work when she goes hey you lied to me he goes well see it was easier for him to lie than say no and so and so he goes well wrap my hair up and put it in in these seven locks and he gets closer to his covenant and he she does that and calls on the philistines he he still beats them she goes you you lied to me again and finally he rather lie then say no and he rather say yes than say no and he gave his covenant and if he had just said no to this he would have delivered the day nights he would have delivered them from the philistines he would have been amazing delivered but because of his incapacity to say no he he just became uh of what or could have been wow or should have been wow so the no will protect your destiny wow well just for the sake of time we have to end this but before we do would you mind praying over anybody that might be watching online and pray over uh tonight's service too i guess amen lord jesus i thank you for these young people that have tuned in i thank you for the hunger that i feel in this district god i pray that you baptize them with the spirit of prayer i pray that you baptize them with the spirit of fasting oh god put a discipline into their spirit that they might be what you have called them to be you have put a unique anointing upon these young people you've given them the capacity to sing with power you've given the capacity of revelation and understanding they want you they know how to linger in the altar god i'm asking for you to give them principles to be used for your glory open up the windows of heaven raise up evangelists pastors last manifestation of love action is the final manifestation of love and let us put these things into action that we learned in this camp oh god that we might change our world let us not be hearers of the word only but let us be doers of the word in jesus name amen amen amen well thank you everyone for joining us tonight thank you brother jackson and remember if you're watching this uh we're gonna
