I have a lot of friends who who aren't serving God a lot of them had grown up in church and I feel like they believe that the Hat they can't have a relationship with God when there's things wrong in their life and I made the connection a couple months ago when I was when I was foot in and a foot out my dad still loved me my pastor still loved me he still built a relationship with me right my pastor didn't look at my sin my problems and stopped his relationship he actually still grew it and so I find a lot of my friends believe that they they can't actually even have you can't even start the relationship with God if there's a mess in their life and so you had alluded to and last night's sermon that you had left church for a time and so I was wondering if you I had never heard personally heard your testimony yeah so I know you grew up as a pastor's son and it's kind of wondering if you could speak to when you left church or with there's a reason or collection of reasons as to why well I just believe that preachers kids have a tough time because you're raised in it and familiarity breeds contempt you know and the more you're in it you know the less that you are affected by it you know you get familiar with it you get numb to it it's just church you know and you're there every day you're there every you know three or four days or the church and you're surrounded all the time and you're consumed by it and at some point in your in your life you realize that it's not my decision to be here it's my mom and dad's decision to be here and it's not really my belief system is their belief system yeah and I think that a lot of preachers kids just have to realize that at some point you're going to have to stop living for God on your mom's you know religion and your dad's religion or belief system and you have to really find God for yourself and that's why I think that's where I kind of got off the boat is I never really found God for my cell I knew that God was real I knew that there was a call in my life to a new I was very gifted and talented but I just didn't want it you know I just didn't want it I saw too much of it and preachers kids are cursed with that curse that you see too much you you hear the the drama you know you you know what's going on behind the scene that's always open exactly exactly there people are in the house that the skeletons come out of the closet when you're a preacher's kid because you see it all and so it jaded is a good word to use a lot a lot of guys are jaded a lot of young ladies are jaded because you know it seems like dad spends more time with them than they spend with you and more important and it's not that's not always the case and I know my mom and dad did very well and trying to make sure that you know that we were taken care of but it's just this jaded if there's anything you know offset in your life at all then that's just going to add a whole new level of challenge and for me that's what it was you know the devil knew that I was talented and gifted and called and he fought me found me hard and put stuff in my life in my world you know and I was very confused at a very young age I just had to prove myself I was violent and I got in lots of trouble I just you know like in school and stuff and and you know my other two brothers I have an older brother and a younger brother were both amazing men of God and they both had their trials to they they're not perfect at all and I'm not trying to make you know myself sound any different than them they had their battles that they had to fight to but for me I was a problem child you know I was the one who was in trouble I was one who got expelled suspended kicked out of school you know get in fights and my dad had to pick me up at school you know because I was in trouble you know you know pastor Chavis come get your son you know come get your boy you know and that kind of deal caused problems and I was a problem and the truth of matter was is there was really no exact reason why that had a great mom great dad great church fantastic people around me amazing brothers amazing life in general if there was nothing off there wasn't like old man this this kid you know it's just you know he's got a lot of demons he's fighting and and I and my brain I did and my brain I did fight a lot of demons and a fight a lot of questions about my validity and I was middle kid you know MK s middle kid syndrome as they call it and one day I may write a book oh man but so when I got old enough to really start making my own decisions church wasn't a huge part of that so did you leave Church all together because when I let when I left Church I still I still came back yeah you know I had left Church mentally I just completely Chester I cannot take myself on music but I completely checked out but I was still in building for a long time yeah there was there was a season where I was completely checked out and in mentally and physically I just completely checked out I was not that was not living right I was very afraid to go to church I was very afraid to be involved because I was afraid of what you know God was going to do you know I dunno respect for God I didn't respect myself and looking back now I know that in the middle of that I couldn't see that there was really a thing when inside we've never battled with an absolute depth that God even existed or your actual face you know I never I never doubted that I never doubted that God was real and I never really doubted the gifting that got it put in me it was too strong you know and that when I was very young it was so strong in my life and you know getting up and leading worship and the power of God moving in an unprecedented way and when I was younger you know many advances some people that come and visited our church were would tell my mom and dad and tell me like we've never seen anything like this we've never been exposed to someone who has gods magician you know I may be way yeah that conversation happened a million times do you think that that language because you know that's not the first time I've heard that right the pressure of prophecy or the pressure of definitely a lot of pressure yeah so is that this I know I know people need to be caught when they're speaking into anybody's life yeah right at any time but was it too much or do you look back now and it's correctly to self and you're glad it was there I don't you know I don't know if it we could I don't know if I could definitively say it was too much I think there may have needed to be some some some safety net there you know you can't tell a kid hey you're going to do this amazing thing and then not not trying to prop him up or put a safety net or or even check him you know there are very few people in my life that would check me and and and I would just do what I wanted to do but you know and of course my dad's very very you know you know systematic in discipline and he's very controlled guy and so so he was he was definitely a rock in my life that I could stand on my grandfather was a rock in my life that I could stand on those guys but the pool of the world was so strong or what I wanted to do what I thought I had to prove myself it was a big thing is I thought I had to prove myself and it just turned into this crazy you know lifestyle crazy outburst of insanity that that really made no sense that they were needed here and they're there and and eventually I just totally walked away with the college and wasn't living right wasn't doing right and blew my first year of college totally blew it you know and blue you know money my dad had given me in and when I came back when I really came back to God at the age of twenty God had really rocked my world I really and and and I don't mind saying this on on this interview because I believe people need to hear it and and and my mom and dad they you know they know this when I unintentionally overdosed on drugs at college and almost died and it wasn't me it wasn't something that I was physically doing it was somebody had given me something as a joke you know to see what would happen and I almost killed me and it almost lost my mind I almost committed suicide it was a bad bad deal when I came out of that the first thing I wanted to do was go to church the first thing I wanted to do is I wanted to feel God again and so that next Sunday I mean I was at church and everybody's building knew I was a sinner you know they knew I was a mess that your dad my dad's Church and but you know when God when I felt that presence of God again man it was just it was just too much for me and I knew you know I'm not I'm not walking away from this ever again I'm not I'm not going back to that but what I did what I did the decision I made in that moment is what really saved my life that experience helped me tremendously but the decision I made next was really what saved me is I totally began to search the scripture for myself I totally walked away from like what my dad believed my grandfather believed and just said I want to know for myself not not doctrinal stuff it's just like I'm not going to live off what they know I need it for me and so I started at the beginning I mean I didn't I mean I was the music pastor for several years at the church when I was younger and then I you know I started as an usher nothing like I get right back up off the platform I didn't do anything I said on the bro how long I worshiped for over a year and I just said nothing and then preached of course I didn't preach back then at all anyway that wasn't a preacher but I was an usher and didn't you know but when God restored that ministry in my life I mean you know and I say that we store the ministry really the people restore the ministry God never took my ministry away God never took my calling away you know that I just build trusting the people again when that did return it was very powerful and then I had a walk with God something I never had before in my life was a walk a daily walk with God I never had that before I never had a relationship with God I just have relationship with church and I had a relationship with the anointing but I did not have a relationship with the anointing turn I did what I wanted to do in between I mean I would live like the devil during the week I would do all kind of insanity and I would get up on the platform on Sunday and the only thing Oh Lord it would fall like that it would be unbelievable people get the Holy Ghost during worship services people get healed their worship service it was crazy and it was so powerful and so strongly even in those times when I was totally not livin forgotten I mean it was the antithesis of living for God but I would get up and it would happen so I had that but I'd never had just a daily walk with God where me and God work had our own thing going I never had that before and so when I did assume that you know my life changed at the age of 20 and during that's the same time I joined the military because I blew all my money for college and you know I wasn't going to ask my dad for more money I wasted my the wasted my substance with riotous living it you know and so I said I'm going to go join the military and give money for school was your brother madman when the program came home no no he wasn't no he wasn't no he was he was happy you know he knew he knew that my parents were you know just in devastation that I was where I was so for him and you know he was he was happy for me and he helped me to you know he brought me he opened his arms to me as well even though he knew how bad I'd hurt mom and dad and the church and the testimony you know well when I joined the military the military really helped me a lot to buy a lot of discipline in my life and I didn't have before so here I'm on this journey with God I'm on this journey of discipline I don't miss and I'm growing and during this time was when God started really dealing with me about becoming a preacher and I me and my wife got married me and her had dated before I went to college and when I went to college I broke up with her I was like I'm and you know this is a true story I told her I said I'm a devil well like you do not want to be with me and I broke up with it because I really liked her yeah but I didn't want to do the murder yet yeah and so I bro but when I came back to God like i'ma straight to her and I said you're the one like if I'm gonna do this thing for right and for real and for God like you're the one I don't want I don't know anybody else like it either you or I don't know imma do and she was like okay you wait for a while no you know she knew that it wasn't me or all this yeah yeah no she she tells a fabulous story about it nowadays but yeah but you know but at the time you know she knew that it was right I knew that it was right and so we got married then God started telling me about evangelizing and being a preacher and it was very strong the call was very strong the what God wanted to do in me was very strong yeah he rejects one second I know a lot of people that have come back to God and then a year in two years in their life God God restores their life you works miracle after miracle in restoration what did you ever have a moment where you look back at the things of the world after you know after that come back here - sure - after you turn 20 and God started to prepare your life and yeah do you have that that time where you where you look back and one of the things that will even temporarily or was the relationship with God the solidifying I'm not I'm not looking back yeah yeah of course I did and everybody does anybody says that they didn't is probably telling a little bit of a story you know we all have those moments of weakness and we have those moments where you know we think about what could be what could have been things like that but I think that the discipline in my life and my personal walk with God had is what saved me in those moments because I was just like no I remember where that life took me in and I know the downward spiral that's going to have a minute you know the wages of sin is death and that's the scripture in the Bible that we read but I lived it you know and there's a lot people who lived it I mean I I saw that if I that if I continued on that path I was I was I was headed for death and I mean because I was always all in you know I was all in as a sinner yeah I was just all into it and and I knew that it wouldn't last long I knew that my life would not last long I died I have several friends in my life now who they can tell you that I've told them you know but I won't make it to the age of 30 I'll overdose her out you get in a wreck drive drunk driving or something or something happened to me because I'm just too wild you know I just knew that it was going to happen so but the personal walk with God is what held me in those times that I didn't have before before I would have went back to it but now God was working on me speaking to me talking to me and it was more than just a Sunday morning experience but it was an everyday thing so I had the power and the strength to flee youthful lust walk away from temptation and just say no I'm not I'm not going to do that you know I'm not going to do that that's not going to happen it's there it's there the desires are the feelings there but I'm not going yes whatever sit so I just one thing that was kind of start wrapping up was one thing that keeps my interest yesterday in this sermon was your dad made you wait six years before he released upin July's can you speak to what that six year period was like as far as submitting to your dad yeah and I know what kind of jump in a different train no no it's it could be because it all plays them together you know I had been iron the world old time right yeah if you're feeling like I hold to do something that's a long time and so you know I've been married a year two years and God really called me I mean it was a strong call my dad was there when it happened he was in you know in the building when God called me and it was very strong and he already mentioned it to him too and me and my wife had been fasting and we were praying about it and we felt it strongly and then when it happened you know I was like hey you know you know what do you think about it and he was like you know you know let's pray about it and when you know doors started opening and you know a year later you know let's pray about it no let's don't do that right now and it grew and grew and grew and the ministry grew and people were asking me to come and things were opening my daddy said no you know so for six years straight he said no to preach you note there's a preacher now going out doing things for people and it was just no I mean it wasn't a mean no it was just not right now but again I had a walk with God I was submitted to my past or something I had never done in my life I saw him as the man of God in my life not just my dad but that my man of God and and I wasn't going to do anything without his approval I just wasn't going to and and you know I had several friends good intentions but like hey you know you ought to just do you know you know God's calling you to do Wyatt work you know you know you know it he'll be okay he'll and I'm like listen you guys don't know how long I disappointed my father I'm not walking away right now you know I'm and I'm not doing anything without the blessing of my pasture it's not going to happen you know and is the gifting they're the other gifting is there but if God was a door to open my dad can't stand in the way of God yeah you know it's just not going to happen the gift will bring you before great men you know that make room for itself and I just knew I just had confidence that it was going to happen and it did you know I went to Iraq I spent a year in Iraq with the army in the military knows no sir I was a I was a bodyguard I was a personal security detail for it with a four horses or was it with a contracting no it was it was with the army yeah and so I spent a year in Iraq got home from Iraq you know when I got home from Iraq I was just happy to be alive I really didn't have this great vision of going and being an advantage at that time I was just I just want to go be home be my wife my daughter I missed the first year and a half of my daughter's life because I was in training and then in Iraq and I just want to be home you know and it was really far from my thinking but what happened is god oh god begin to open the door people started saying hey wanna hear about your testimony in Iraq and and and note note that I still wasn't a preacher like I hadn't really been preaching I'd only preached a couple times in my life you know not saying a lot and so like one day my dad was just like hey I want you know get us in a letter out to some guys and I think it's about time for you in the mana to hit the road and it was just an open door and I had really kind of not forgot about it but I wasn't interested in it or I wasn't so focused on at that time it was a time that I was so focused on it and when the door opened up man there was no closing it like I think when and I tell young guys who filled the call of God their life I tell them listen if you wait on God and your weight on the man of God in your life and you will be stressed out it will stress you out you will be angry but be angry and sin not be bitter and sin not you know just just hang on because when that when the time is right the blessing that will come out of that you can't imagine I would never would imagine that I would be doing what I'm doing right now never in my life I mean maybe preach out a few places things like that man but I preached I preached Youth Congress I preached all over the world I preached you know camp meetings I appreciate so my heroes and guys like Jeff Cunningham and Tom Foster some of my heroes like I preached in their churches I preached behind their pulpit I preached you know like David Bernard I mean I grew up reading David Bernard books I preached and David Norris pulpit yeah to me that like it's like a mind-blowing thing for me I didn't ask for that I didn't politic for that I didn't position for that God gave me a favor and I believe that one of the biggest reasons that God gave me that favor is those six years those six years that God watched me be faithful be obedient it there is a favor that you can have that you can't pray your way into and you can't shout your way into you can't fast your way into you have to submit your way into and when you do got over the door because he knows he can trust you and I've had several times where my father said no you know they're my time of evangelizing like hey don't do this or don't do that every stone base that hits oh yes probably yeah and now I passed her yep you know I passed her a great church in Atlanta yeah he's my bishop that's cool my father's my bishop when something goes wrong and true Chapel I call that and I say hey what I need to do you know how do I transition this how do i navigate this and he's still my bishop and the church knows he's the bishop but he comes out and you needed that relationship intact exactly because it's a it saved my bacon when I was evangelizing because doors open you know you start evangelizing man your goal you're out there people know your name people hail offer you a job this this this and there's a lot of you know snares in the way people with good intentions but just not the will of God and my father always was like no don't do that don't don't no and it was and it was great to have that thought to walked away on day one and said I'll forget what you think I'm gonna go out here I wouldn't be sitting here on this interview right now I won't be sitting there preaching Ontario camping and let me have it so you after how many years did you re on the road Vangelis almost seven years seven years yeah and I book of course I'm really still yeah Charlie in the middle oh yeah so you are yes you said about half an hour forty minutes from downtown Atlanta not 45 minute drive with me downtown okay I tell us a little bit about your church truth Chapel man we you know we went into this little town called loganville never heard of it before we saw God was leading us there drove through the city on kind of a whim really and called the district about it said you know what about London bill they said you know definitely we didn't really understand the positional place of loganville some things that were going on there in the spirit world but also in the history of loganville and manages its exploded what's happened and we started with nine non adults and some children I came with a little team you know me and my wife and then seven other adults with none adults all together into some friends and some people over there so we like Amy helped us and then left but then some people who have stayed and helped us grow the church and and managed has been it's been crazy you know last Sunday we had 360 something and you know we're about to close on 35 acres of land you know 35 acres of land are you moving your church they are you building satellite campus you know we're here right now we're still we're still leasing okay yeah we don't own our building else you have a home yeah so so so we're you know our vision is big the vision of God has given me it's pretty big and and that's what we need we need about 35 acres of land years ago I started praying for 30 acres I started praying for 30 acres and and this was years ago probably three or four years ago us are praying God 30 acres is what I feel like we need to do what you show me in my mind Church Family Life Center school and then I have a gym things like that but then I have a vision for a training center as well where you know young ministers or even you know not be in ministers ministers whatever could come and get training not not not college per se but hands-on training like if you have a young girl in your church or a young guy in your church who wants to do music ministry they can come and stay with us on site they can live on site with us for six months and when they return back to you Church they were equipped they don't know how to do music planning center they don't know how to do the functionality other end of the presentation of it and they'll also be equipped with the format to make it organized and everything yeah even like Church management courses you exactly everything if you have energy send your system you have a young man in your church who you want to help you with administration sent them to our training facility for six months or three months ago whatever you decide to do and when they come back they look don't know how to work Excel don't know how to to do you know Church books they look at them a course on Church taxes we have our own standalone 501 3 C at Truth chapter which is very unique for a lot of churches we own our own 501 C 3 and our administrator now is a phenomenal administrator and he's just a genius and so bring those people in doing that kind of stuff Sunday school people music administration what what you're doing here av video work and stuff you know you know the media presentation of the church and just not necessarily a college but something that you can send some money to for a few months probably they come back to you I figured I know how to do it that's amazing and that that's that's so important the Prudential side of things I'd like to see eventually you know even just a place where we can send anybody for practical courses like well what we did at true chapels starting at with a team was one of the keys to our growth process because we started we started great and you in how you start so we started a great small group but still started great so when a visitor walked through the door on day one it wasn't like you know a couple little people and you know playing a track and it way you know and I'm not saying anything bad about that some people do that and they do great at it what I'm saying is when the visual to door was a church music screen pictures being taken you know very you know very you know formidable very organized you know here give us your information and when they left they felt like this is a legit organized place you know and so that part of it is is is what we would like to help other people do and even if you're you know like if you have a release from your pastor let's say you want to go help a small church somewhere and you say hey I want to go to the training center a trip Chapel you come we'll train you and then we'll we'll place you with a whole missionary somewhere that's who's going to sort a church but you could go in you can help them with books you help with music you can with the media side of it learning learning planning Center Learning propresenter learning all the things that we do and we're learning we're learning how to do great at Tru Chapel we're not doing it great yet but we do it well but we're learning how to do it great in in the mindset of this this is not just for us but this is for a future vision that we see to help everybody I talked to James beat today as a missionary in Scotland and they kind of have discovered that the Bible School in Scotland who knows hardest Chapel they're kind of doing the same thing so their whole second year they're actually just placing their students yeah churches across the UK for the practice and see that sends them that's the hands-on that we need in the movement and you know just an absolute movement in general you know we need young men and young ladies to get the opportunity to do it you know you know just and and can be effective on the ground yeah you know they so often if they walk in the door and say you know if you just give me a budget I know what to buy when to buy it how to buy it and then what to do with it when I get it yeah you know how to train other people yeah and yeah we're going to teaching people how to work the adobe cloud everything in areas and just you know premiere and and in Lightroom and After Effects and all that all that stuff you know that you know what what you're doing what you're doing here is a part of that is leaning like you said excellence like God God is telling you that was told you I want my people to be excellent in every facet of culture and we look at these megachurches and you know like like elevation church and we're just like oh my God look at their stuff is so amazing you can do that too you know you can do that you can do that right at your church well well you know they have this they have that all of that's a cop-out all of it's a cop-out if you want to do it you can do it because they were at a place some at some point where they said you know hey we need to do this and we have the greatest generation right now in Millennials that have the ability to do it and everybody gives Millennials a bad name and they want to talk about them they're lazy whatever no they're not that they're not they just need to be empowered and given passion and if you'll do that with a millennial they'll work circles around you but what you can't do is say hey come do it our way and you have to do it our way yeah and this is the old style and go with this group we're the last generation that responds to because I told you so right so it's I I'm not asking why out of disrespect no I'm asking why can I have a genuine desire it's going to help me do my job better if I know why it's not because I told you so exactly right and we have access to that generation right now yeah and our churches have access to that generation later even young church planters yes I could spend three months oh yeah they're because of the young turks planter one of the things we want to do is equip young church planters with resources so they could go there for three months and because they're gonna have to do AV they're going to have to do think they're gonna have to do greeting and get all this right so I guess you can speak to that because you were a Young Turks planner exactly and you know I tell them all the time you know you need a youth pastor you need a music pastor and an administrator and your social media pastor and they stopped me right there once what's that what's a social media pastor like you gotta have somebody that's going to run social medias you do it great is there free obviously yet you have Instagram at your church are you have you lost your mind you know it that is we I can walk into my church today and point out family sitting in the room that are only there because we have a Facebook presence that's it and they're there because they saw the video a clip and they said Oh check this church out when they did they walked in they felt the love they felt God God they worship the Holy Ghost had been baptized they've had their life change because I'm a facebook presence and that that's part of the initial vision with what we're doing is yeah is that if it's structured correctly the church could actually capitalize on social media a hundred times more than rail right now yeah just how things are based geographically we really could yeah it capitalized on a whole lot more what we have to do is they have to capitalize on what is driving culture and and we have to jump on that boat and be able to not only just be a passenger on it because everybody our churches are passengers on I mean everybody returns Facebook everybody your church's Instagram most of your church and what instead of being the passenger find a way to drive the boat you know and that then you can be effective in your culture and a lot of churches aren't effective because we're just passengers the pastors have a Facebook the pastor there but their passengers on it and when you can find out how to drive the boat then you can little find out how to drive culture yeah and that's in this powerful anything that our viewers can specifically be trained for true chaplain yeah you know just pray that um this pray that God you know discontinues open the door for us you know we're we're waiting for a hearing in the beginning of September from the county to give us a permit to build on the land and so in and we've had good responses already like yeah this is going to happen whatever but you know there's always some variables and it should be fine but you know just pray that that happens in the favor of the city you know and what God is doing there and in August work we give away book bags for our back-to-school deal that we do and and this year we're actually you know really amping it up and we're giving away like five hundred book bags we expect to have over a thousand people it's like a block party year yes yeah kind of kind of like that we did it last year we had over 600 people on site I mean but this year we're doing it actually at our church and we're doing more and so it's a great way to connect with the community and a great way to do things like that and so really we're just you know praying for favor in our community because that's the ultimate goal is to win over our community for people to go Loganville you know what there's a couple hundred thousand people in the area in the area it's a lot in the suburb of yeah for that yes there's so many people made it it's gets crowded is covered to cut it up I guess one thing we kind of want to do is if you consistent questions across the board with people we interview any book recommendations for young ministers young people in ministry yeah I would I would get my hand on everything you know about leadership that you could find whether it's church leadership in solution in general john maxwell is a great writer and i love this stuff you know on leadership and i also love to read you know I love to read stuff that's not necessarily spiritual but it helps in the long run I just read a book called necessary endings that was great it really helped me a lot and I like to read books on self-development and habits discipline and and those are good for young ministers who are trying to develop self and and get better what they're doing you know books like from Brian Tracy eat this frog if you've never heard of that book you need to get that book eat this wrong it'll it'll help you become very very disciplined in your life and that's what a lot of young guys need is in this great so we can also do they have you know but they need discipline they need to learn how to set things in order set things straight and then as far as you know spiritual books you know read the Bible man you know I'm not saying this the only but there's a lot of great books out there to read and a lot of great writers but man read the Bible the Bible is so important and if if you develop a great relationship with the Word of God you know God will give you a fresh word and that's what we need we need a fresh word and I'm not saying that what has been spoken in the past is not great it's got us here but man this generation needs a fresh word and we need young men who will get in the word stop reading all these other books out here and get in the word so what God said about the word you know always always tell people this and I say how can you read a book about a book that you've never read you know that's to me that's just insanity you know have a good relation with the word and then the other books will help you they'll bring out stuff that you maybe didn't see or whatever but you at least have a platform to judge that book off of and there's a lot of great stuff out there right now man on church planning a lot of great stuff out there on church development and stuff like that you know so so much out here right now to get a hold of but you remiss if I didn't ask you got another album and the recording coming up you know what if I do an album if I do an album it will be a live worship and so that's my next stage but I just don't know yeah that's a and that's a I'm a little sick and tired of not seeing how the solids yeah at number one and I know there's some incredible episode is emerging and I know there are yeah we want to seem like right now I think there's two episode artists in the top ten right now like torn whales and Nathan and Nathan and Rachel man what's your last names French yeah never learn French there are Georgia yeah top ten right now it's amazing yeah you know well my album came out it stayed in the top ten for a little while we got enough talent to be but first five six seven eight yeah I really do we do a live original we have we have amazing talent in our movement and I guess the one question I'm kind of I'm kind of dealing with the finality of of life and deaths and all that right now my own life sure the one question I want to ask people is if if today was your last day we have one piece of advice one word of advice to give to a young man or young woman pursuing the call of God or that last impartation video of you know it's hard to put it into one statement so so I'll try to break it up into a couple of things here number one you must you have to it's imperative that you develop a personal discipline relationship with God you just have to you know it can be a fun day thing it can be a Wednesday thing it has to be every day you know where you're spending time with God I don't care if it's 30 minutes you know just spend time with God I don't care how you find a way to do it just do it every day spend time in his word and spend time talking to them and I don't care how you do that but just do it that's so good to me that's one of the keys that we're missing it's just a personal everyday disciplined time with God because when you really start telling people and you get people in a room that would be honest you realize that a lot of other people don't have that they're not doing that now get up in the morning run now go go to the gym but they won't spend just 20 minutes 30 minutes just along with them and God and I think that that is HUGE and the second thing is is one of my messages that I preached this week about loving your brother I think that we have to develop better relationships in the church and trust each other more and I'll say this on camera because I'm okay with saying it on camera I believe that one of the things that Catholic Church got right was that you can tell somebody all your sins and they'll never tell anybody about it we don't have that we do not we have no way to confess and I don't want it I don't think that you can take away my sin yeah I don't know you know the kind of church they messed up on that part but I can tell you and you'll help me take away my sin you can't do that but I wish sometimes that there was a place we could go and we could communicate to people and saying that I'm struggling with this I'm struggling with that like I think starts going in my head we know and that person could give me advice could talk to me and then I could walk out of that room and I would know for a fact that that man will never tell a soul that's something that we lack and so we have a lot of preachers who are losing their minds getting divorces committing suicide pastors likes that are totally depressed we got pastors lights addicted to pills because they can't take the pressure and there's you you're not going to tell me about it you're not going to tell anybody that you're weak and that you're hurting or that you're broken I don't have that starts young but that's why I'm telling young guys yeah I'm telling young guys yeah develop your relationships love one another get some good people around you then they are certain that that kid in youth ministry right now it's like kid messes up with pornography and he's terrified terrified tell anybody but we don't talk about sex in the church no because it's taboo but every single place he goes they're talking about sex yeah it's a except the church where there should be some sort of healthy healthy outlook on wheat the proper confines of sex and and and the biggest issue is that is that we don't we don't trust ya little trust we'll trust each other and we're not gonna tell anybody yeah we're gonna tell anybody it's not what happened and you internalize that you know you said well I'll tell God and that's fine you do you need to tell God but in fact you have to tell God yeah but at the end of the day who's going to be your accountability that's a huge problem it's not because because now you have a potential future generation of thousands of young people who whoever pressed in yeah and when does that come out in their 20s 30s when they have established midlife crisis yeah we call it yeah plus society calls it midlife crisis I know we're all kind of on time crunch but I don't like to be people with just questions like what is a way to help that like what is a way to convince it you don't mean to do a really a practical way that I think bring I think that all we have to do is we have to start being honest with each other and somebody has to start the conversation you know you get around your friends and we're all having fun and we're all talking one of us has to open up and say guys listen I really need you I really you know I I really need you to hold me accountable you know help me I need to tell you some things but I need to know that it's going to be we have to start the conversation if nobody talks and nothing happens we have to have people who would just come out and be open with it and you know maybe maybe we'll fall a little bit on the way but if we don't start the conversation the conversations that we're going to begin we have to start the conversation and I have in my life especially the last five years of pastoring I've opened up the conversation with some of my closest friends like hey I need you because I'm struggling and I'm doing this to them I'm dealing with it dealing with that and I'm fighting devils that I didn't even know existed and tell us on a pastor in the church and I can't sit over here by myself isolated in this city with nobody to talk to like I need you and so I got the guys on that call guys are called me and it that helps me more than anything in my life those words those voices and just that friendship yeah and and and I just read an article from the Boston Globe and you can look it up probably and it's the number one killer of men the number one killer of men today is loneliness and we don't we don't have anybody you know we don't have anybody we you know you always hear the girls night girls girls vacation girls hanging out but you know you don't ever hear about by guys when you see guys night it's some bad you know they're going on to do something evil you know they're going to go but we don't have that in our churches we don't have camaraderie you know men's ministry is is in some states growing but in many states are just depleted mint there's no men's ministry and then we got everything for the women but with nothing for the men to get together and be brothers and have camaraderie and be able to hold tight to one another and trust one another and that's what we have to have yeah damn it well anybody who's watching should know that the Chavis has two preaching like make four minutes starting sorry counselor we'll end it there but we really appreciate if second time seriously thank you guys so much for inviting me and allow me to speak thanks for changing Circus
