INSTANTLY Turn Your Notion Notes Into Anki Flashcards

hello guys my name is avian i'm a medical student studying in london and in this video i'll be showing you how you can turn your notion notes quickly into anki flashcards so the first thing you're going to want to do when you're making your notion notes is to actually make them using toggle lists i've already made a separate video on how to make notes in notion in medical school so if you haven't checked that out already then make sure you check that video out but essentially the reason why you want to use toggle notes is to actually promote that active recall making notion notes in this format allows you to quickly export it using the tool i'll be showing you in this video to turn them instantly into anki flash cards so you want the name of your notion page to be the name of the deck that you want your anky card exported into and you want to make your notes toggles so if i'm making a deck on acute confusion of state for example then i might have one card which says what is acute confusion or state known as and so that will correspond to the front of my anki card and inside the toggle i can include the answer so i might say okay delirium inside the toggle you can also create closed cards which are essentially fill in the blank cards and the way you do that is by creating an empty toggle so you don't put anything inside the toggle but your statement is the title of that toggle and whatever you want to create as the close option you can do so by highlighting that text and pressing command e or just turning that into a code block which will turn it slightly red and that way that red item will become the closed item and so i want to continue creating my notion notes in this way so toggle being the front or either the closed card with command e to highlight the close option and then once i'm done what i want to do is i want to go over to my notion page click on the three dots on the top right corner click on export and export my page as a html so in order to actually convert these notes into anchor cards you want to go on the website called 2anki.net which i'll link down in the description below you want to click on get started and then you want to upload the file from your notion page that you just exported once you've done that click on convert and after a few moments your cards will be converted into an anki package which you can then download now make sure you have your anki open before you open the anki package that i just downloaded and then go ahead and open the anki package that i just downloaded and as you will see your anki cards that you just created will be exported straight into anki directly so i can go ahead and show you that these cards are exactly what i created now while you're making your notion notes you can actually also add images inside the toggles and that will also save in your anky deck in addition i've told you to leave the closed cards empty however if you put information inside the closed toggles then that will actually come up as the extra information section in your anki cards so for example this is an anchor card which has images from my notion notes and this is an example of a closed card where i put extra information inside the toggle now one thing you may notice when you open this created deck into your anki is that the styling doesn't match your original style what you want to do to fix this is you want to go ahead and go over to your browser find the cards that you just exported and change the basic note type to your basic card type and the closed card type to your closed card type so that the styling that you originally use carries forward with the new cards that you just created and you might also want to move these cards into an existing deck that you already have and you might also want to apply some tags so you can just select all the cards click command a to add your tags and then click command d to change which deck your cards are in if you do want to know what kind of card styling that i use in my anki cards then you can go ahead and watch my video which i've created on how to create cards that look like mine with that being said that was a very short and sweet video if you're new to my channel then consider subscribing and also i do a weekly newsletter called swift sunday where i share one idea one quote in my latest video so if you're interested in signing up for that then link is in the description below with that being said thank you very much for watching and i'll catch you again in my next video
