foreign hey guys it's Jeff from pressure luck and happy New Year it is 2023 and it is wild for me to think that I'm entering my sixth year of doing pressure look I started in January of 2017. back when I had much more brown hair on my head uh it was definitely a little bit Slimmer like to get a little Slimmer again soon but I'm always creating recipes what am I gonna do so since 2017 we've been through the good times we've been through the scary times we've been through the Renaissance times and now we're probably entering the uncertain times finances are getting a little scary for some people in the new year uh we're not sure what's going on right now with the job situate what's going to happen we don't know what we do know is that we can live our life with love happiness and something delicious to eat no matter what and that is what I am here for today today we're going to make something that I'm calling Penny Penny yes because this is a dish that's going to be very easy very No Frills you go right to the market you can use store brand for all the products that means for the pasta we're using the sauce we're going to use all the cheapest stuff you can find but it's gonna taste amazing and it's going to feed you can tell your family so when the wallet is starting to feel pinched a little bit and we're not sure of what lies ahead just right now don't worry it takes us and only it's only for now but at least for now we'll be having something that's going to be remarkable because today today that's a mix of tonight and today we're going to be making some amazing Penny penne and no time at all right in the pot you know remember Henny Penny the sky is falling well this is Penny Penny who says we bring your bowl because if the sky is falling I want to eat all this deliciousness into it right now so let's do it right away Penny Penny now not only is this pasta super budget friendly but it's also super super easy to make all I'm gonna do is this grab a pasta pasta for me I like to use penne brigate for this that's like a penne with ridges it's really the same thing with just some ridges um however you could also use something called mezze penne you can really use any short form pasta bow ties medium shells uh you can use rotini really anything you want but you know how to go with the name Penny penny so Penny Regatta is what I like and I'm just going to add an entire box which is a pound and I'm going to add in four cups of a broth of your choice any broth that you like will do you can even use water however I do suggest using broth because it creates a richer flavor that infuses into the pasta when a pressure cooks and now I'm just going to smooth my penne out so it's mostly simmered under that broth and now I'm just going to top my pasta off with a quarter stick or two tablespoons of salted butter and I just cut that into two packs the reason why I like to do that is not only does it add additional flavor but it keeps the pasta pretty slick so it don't stick too much when it's done it's kind of inevitable when you pressure cook that the pasta might stick a little bit but it comes free and clear once you stir it around after it's done cooking and the butter really does also help ensure that slickness okay that's all I had to do pasta broth butter time to pressure cook and secure my lid make sure that I'm in the sealing position and then we want to hit the pressure cooker manual button for six minutes adjust with the plus or minus or a knob if your model has one of those and then again that's it at high pressure and then hit the start button if your model has one again if it doesn't it'll start on its own after a few moments and now that was in a pressure cooking we'll perform a quick release and the pin just dropped so we'll take the lid off our pots and look at that our pasta has cooked perfectly I'm going to stir it around in the pot perfect and you see it barely sticks together all right so it's going to be just a little bit of liquid left in the pot but that's perfect because we want it in there for a little bit of a flavor base so to recap we've only added three ingredients so far the pasta broth and butter and you can honestly keep it to just two ingredients if you want by omitting the broth and just using water but like I said I like the broth for a little extra Flavor now what I want to do is add between two to four cups of any marinara sauce of your choice this can be a value brand this could be a fancy brand this can be a homemade version check out my first book for that or anything that's just left in the fridge that you have in there just sitting there use it but I do suggest because we're adding this at the very end to bring it to room temperature or let's leave it in the jar if it's already in your pantry or you can just pop it in the microwave for about 60 seconds or so until it's a little bit warm I'm gonna add two cups but you could really add up up to four cups if you want how Saucy you want this is up to you and I'm going to stir that in with all of my penne so since we're using a marinara sauce that's already pre-made there's already going to be plenty of spices and good chunky tomatoes and onion in there if you want you can use any variety of sauce you wish and you know what I'm going to add just a little bit more in there and my last ingredient although definitely optional is two cups of a shredded cheese of your choice this can be any this can be a value brand shredded cheese could be something you have left over in the fridge you don't have to add it but I do like to add it to the pot and I'm going to stir that in with my sauce and my pasta again make sure that sauce is at room temperature or if you're pulling it out of the fridge in a jar make sure that you just you know give it a quick zap in the microwave until it's you know at least lukewarm hit the saute button in the pot just to heat it up and you can use any kind of cheese you want you can use shredded mozzarella shredded cheddar any kind you want that's melty now we can absolutely serve this as is it's absolutely perfectly delicious and full of flavor or if you want to judge it up even more you can do the following if if you want to give it some creaminess and if you have my garlic herb cheese on hand by all means feel free to add in some of that totally optional by the way and I also like to add in for this some bacon bits it's a great way to get a Great Smoky meaty addition to the dish without having to spend too much because let me tell you something went to the Costco and bought this huge thing of bacon crumbles and it was a very reasonable price and this thing's gonna last a long time so it's a really nice touch about a half a cup you don't have to add them of course it's just a nice Extra Touch and then just stir everything around in the pot until all that herb cheese is nice and melded into the pasta if you find that these things will break your budget by using the herb cheese like I said don't add it but if you find a good deal in it or if you want to make your own by all means you can freeze it for future dates and then use it when the mood strikes first of all look at all this amazing cheese situation going on in here look at the cheese stretch I love that again you don't have to add any cheese no dare at all if you don't want and this my friends is our superb quick budget friendly Penny penne and it's loaded with all the delicious fixings let's serve some up so here we have it Penny Penny added to a nice big glass bowl because why not feel free to sprinkle some additional bacon crumbles on there to even sprinkle a little parmesan on there why not and done quickly and cheaply here we have it Penny Penny we're gonna dig in and already look at this oh my gosh okay let's do it okay and here it is my bowl of Penny penne and if you want something that's seriously simple and good on the wallet just look at this now I would normally never eat a bowl this big and I wouldn't suggest eating a bowl this big but it was pretty for the picture so I use a huge Bowl I'm not going to eat all this here we go I mean it tastes like something you'd get in a really good restaurant to be honest with you except you're feeding a whole family with this like you're easily feeding six to possibly even eight people with one box of pasta I know whenever I'm in the market it's surprising to think that a one pound box of pasta really will feed up to six to eight people it's wild and a great value because pasta these days everything's a little more expensive but pasta along with like bananas are still like the cheapest things I feel like in the market milk is doing all right too but wow [Music] and I love it because it's so customizable you do what you want you want the creamy cheesy Edge to it at the end fabulous if you want that little bacon sprinkle there using some bacon bits go for it let it rain bacon it's certainly not Kosher because you have the bacon and the dairy in there but I'm not a Jew who keeps kosher so bring on the bacon and the dairy at the same time so it's the new year and that means a new taste test with by Richard Richard I made a pasta dish that I'm calling Penny penne do you like that name Penny Penny yeah it's kind of cute right and it's got some really great Fixins in there look at that um made with Basics it's all Basics you can dress it up like I did with some extra cheese in there and some bacon bits I'll use my bag of bacon bits yeah we got them at Costco I mentioned that it's a great place a great value for all those bacon bits salad and pasta eat them right out of the bag um but what do you think of this give it a shot and tell me what you think it's pretty it's cheesy and so that's why you're sure it's not spicy but you can add spice it's a simple dish all this is is broth pasta a little bit butter on a pressure cooks and at the end I added a Jarred marinara sauce whatever's on sale whatever you love whatever you make yourself a spine and then you can judge it up I added a little bit of um the garlic herb cheese in there like like your own that I made or bourson or Alouette whatever um a little bit of um shredded mozzarella and some bacon bits but again you don't have to add the dairy to it you can use parmesan cheese if you want instead of the grated cheese it's kind of however you want to make this all you really need to make this dish is the pasta a liquid I prefer broth because it infuses more flavor and butter even that's all you got to do there and then just add the sauce at the very very end and that's really all you have to do the you could use any sauce doesn't have to be marinara either it could be alfredo sauce it could be a vodka sauce whatever you want to add any type of Jarred sauce will do just fine but you like it yes and it's like it's almost like a smoky I guess that's the Basin the big the bacon probably has the Smoky element into it and if you want it spicy fine add a few sprinkles of cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes or to some hot sauce it's very customizable as simple as that I like it he's adding some pressure and pepper flakes to this um that's from his garden yes it is enjoy that all right thank you for that you can take this wonderful dish with you now it's huge and just enjoy them no yeah I know but you made it all spicy so whoever's gonna eat is going to be enjoying spicy and this is something that really it can be done with all the ingredients you find on the market that are the store brand or the value brand you do not need fancy marinara sauce you do not need a fancy brand cheese you do not need a fancy brand pasta you can use the store brand for anything that I do but this one in particular since we're in harder times financially this is going to be a great great great dish to make and a big crowd pleaser for the whole family truly I promise if you enjoy these
