[Music] hey guys it's Jeff from pressure luck and the Happy New Year to all and to all a good bite guys this is my first video of the year a crawl of the decade actually it's a new decade now and what better way to finally make a recipe that so many have asked before it's just super classic recipe adults love it kids love it dogs love it guys we're making spaghetti and meatballs or maybe just spaghetti without the meatballs and we can make it spicy spaghetti and meatballs and we can make it regulus we gotta give me whatever we want to do it's very customizable you're gonna see for yourselves this is why I love this specific recipe so much because anyway you make it spicy or not meatballs or not but adding a smooth little cheesy ending to it or not it's gonna be phenomenal any way you do it so I'm gonna get right to it in the instant pot you're gonna see how amazing it is to make pasta right in there spaghetti and meatballs all the same time in one pot and don't tell Nona because she might come after you with a rolling pin if you do it let's do it all right so the first thing I want to do is I want to add in two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and two tablespoons or a quarter stick of salted butter to my instant pot and when I say to the instant pot make sure the liner pot is in there I love the duo evil plus well because it has this amazing handles on the side all the other instant pot models don't have that it's not necessary to have that of course but it's just a nice little addition now we're gonna give it some heat so let's come down to our control panel and hit the saute button to give it some heat all models are different so look for that saute button anywhere we just want to make sure we're on high heat don't worry about the time it should be in the max time all right now I'm using the do Louisville Plus so I can adjust the time turning the knob but I'm just gonna leave it on for an hour on the other models it'll say 30 minutes max so just leave it at that but make sure the temperature is on high or more in terms of you're setting it start when you're on the do Louisville Plaza the other ones after you've selected it after about five seconds of being stationary it'll automatically begin this cycle but if you have a start button you have to hit that to begin the cycle all right and once our oil is heated up on our butters bubbling we're now going to add in two shallots which are diced and a tablespoon of crushed or minced garlic and that also equals three cloves of garlic by the way you want to measure it that way and then we're gonna saute this in the butter in the oil for about three minutes and by the way if you can't find shallots you can absolutely use a yellow onion or a sweet / Vidalia onion as well I just like to use shallots especially in Italian dishes because I feel like they complement the dish really well they're super fragrant and they're definitely the most flavorful than any kind of onion all right we've sauteed for about three minutes and now what I want to do because I'm going to make meatballs with the spaghetti although it's totally optional is I'm going to add in 1 pound of meatballs now whatever kind of meatballs you want to use it's up to you these are frozen meatballs actually they're IKEA meatballs are not even typical meatballs but you can use any kind you can even make them fresh if you wish or make them raw I have a wonderful meatball recipe and why am I not making those right now well frankly because I don't have the ingredients at this exact moment and because I'm feeling lazy so I'm using these meatballs if you don't want to use meatballs at all you don't have to add them it's either/or but I'm going to add in 1 pound of these guys frozen and now I'm going to add in 3 cups of a broth and you can use any broth of your choice I'm using garlic broth which is garlic better than Dewey unmixed with some water or you can use chicken broth special block whatever as well as a 1 and a half cups of your favorite marinara sauce I love the Victoria brand and we're gonna add more marinara sauce afterwards we don't want to add too much in right now because we don't want our sauce to be too thick that could create some issues with our pop coming to pressure the liquid is too thick and I'm also going to add in one teaspoon of dried oregano now because I like my spaghetti spicy I'm going to do something that some of you might love and some of you might paint I'm going to add in a half a cup of a hot sauce I'm using Frank's for this because I like the way it is in terms of the mild as it's not too spicy and you do not have to add this at all by the way at all this is completely completely optional but I like to add it and I also like to season this up with a teaspoon of a Cajun or Louisiana seasoning or Creole seasoning of your choice I like Toni's - Therese I'll link to where you can get that and because I'm adding these optional spices because I like it spicy my spaghetti again totally optional even Matt if you want it mild I'm adding in a quarter of a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes these go a long way little bit of that I'm gonna stir everything around in the pot now I want to take an entire a box of spaghetti which is 1 pounds worth and I want to take it out of the box and I'm gonna break it up and once I have my spaghetti out of the box I have to break it in half so it properly fits in the liquid and properly cooks I know it's sacrilegious to some but believe me when you're eating it you're not gonna miss it I'm just gonna break it in half like so add it to the pot and I do that for the entire box it's just easier to do in batches ah there we go now I want to take a mixing spoon or a spatula and just smooth my pasta out so it's submerged kind of mostly in the broth but do not stir it in just do exactly what I'm doing like this a little bit of smoothness perfect all right and a final optional touch because believe it or not I hate raw tomatoes like these I love them when they're student cooked I like to give it a nice body of tomato to the sauce so I'm adding about 10 ounces of grape or cherry tomatoes now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna secure my lid make sure that it's in the sealing position which it already is on the duo pluses lid all right now let's turn our heat off by hitting the cancel or the keep warm / cancel button if that's what your model has and then hit the pressure cook or manual button depending on your model I want to do leave a plus again so I want to just go custom first that's a step you can bypass and all the other models by the way and I want to go for eight minutes at high pressure that's it and now that we're done we'll form a quick release and the pin just drops so we'll take our lid off and there's our beautiful spaghetti and its sauce look at that the spaghetti is gonna be perfectly cooked it might be a little clumped together that's fine as we start it should D clump from all the butter in the oil inside the pot glorious and there's my meatballs in there with my spaghetti all cooked at the same time again if you don't want to put any meatballs in there don't put any meatballs in all the other measurements remain the same all right and now for the final steps I want to sauce this up a little bit more I'm gonna add in another cup and a half with the marinara sauce and now a quarter of a cup of grated Parmesan cheese and this final step just like adding the hot sauce the quest red pepper flakes or any Cajun seasoning is totally optional I'm going to now add in my little Boursin secret here guys any flavor will do this Shelton shine if you use the garlic and herb whatever flavor you want and I've taken the bourse and I've just cut it up into like chunky cubes here and I'm going to add it into my pasta and my sauce this is going to give the entire dish a slightly creamy edge again it's completely optional it is not mandatory but I really think it sets it over the top this is what I love the spaghetti and meatballs recipe so much it's so customizable and versatile you want it spicy great you don't awesome you want me Paul's terrific you don't find with me you want there to be a little bit of a creaminess to the sauce with a little bit of a tinge of a garlic shallot each Ivy flavor by all means feel free not feeling it leave it out whatever you want to do you can just simply do the tomato sauce the broth and the spaghetti and with the meatballs or without it doesn't matter you do it your way and the recipe will specify exactly how to do all this and also guys when you start to stir your spaghetti right away it might be a little al dente to your taste I love it just like that but if he feels it a little too firm just keep stirring it for a few minutes around in the pot it's going to become the perfect texture I like it exactly as it is but everyone has slightly different preferences with their spaghetti but you see how this looks guys this is perfectly cooked and done alright guys now I'm ready to just put this in some bowls and then try it out all right and I'm going to take some of my spaghetti and I'm gonna put it right in my plate look at how delicious this looks guys perfect okay perfect now let's top it off with some meatballs go perfect but if you don't have any meatballs you need to make it with meatballs fine no big deal and alright mama Mia that is some serious perfection a little bit messy but who cares I mean that's the joy of home cooking if you want to make it a little prettier just hit a little bit of a napkin here and just give it a little bit of a wipe that's what they do with the restaurants and that's what I do to make my pictures look extra pretty so who cares do what you want or use your finger whatever alright guys and if you want to give it a final sprinkle of some parmesan by all means feel free to do so be as fancy or snobby as you wish with your parmesan cheese brands I have no shame in saying this is the supermarket brand it was on sale whatever and then stick your fork and one of those tens of meatballs give the pasta a bit of a twirl around it there and bring it to your mouth because you're about to have an experience alright guys here it is on top of spaghetti all covered with cheese look at this I just love it I love the way spaghetti does that it's give it a try [Music] Mamma Mia [Music] and I love the musical this right here is the best spaghetti I've ever had in my entire life now I know you're gonna say that I'm just saying that because it's my blog which is true but guys I promise you it really is the best spaghetti I've ever had in my life I love the spice to it I love adding the hot sauce the cayenne pepper some of the Cajun / Louisiana seasoning to it and of course finishing it off with that Boursin but again you do not have to add any of the spices whatsoever totally feel free to leave out the hot sauce the crushed red pepper and the Cajun / Louisiana seasoning and if you don't want meatballs in there leave out the meatballs but you could do anything you want put him in frozen put them in raw these were frozen they're from Ikea these meatballs I was too lazy to make my own but make mine if you want they're delicious I'll link the recipe you know what I gotta get Richard in here Richard Richard try out the spaghetti meatballs alright gotta get this guy in on camera really self-conscious doing this on camera whatever do you mean it's one of the most you know the dapper things to eat what do you think of that sauce that's good I feel like a creamy edge to it that really kind of makes it oh it's like soft and spicy at the same time it's very hearty yeah now does it taste too spicy to use a sauce that's overpowering the spice no no it's not even that spicy at all to set it up a little bit of a zest it'll make your lips slightly tingle and it's certainly not going to make you just you know go running for the water but if you don't want any spice in there simply leave those things out they do not need to be in there same with the meatballs so you don't have to put meeple I know I've said this a million times and this really wanted to explain to you how adjustable this is spaghetti and meatballs or just spaghetti is same with divorce and at the end you don't have to edit but it really adds it's amazing creamy edge it doesn't overpower the sauce it's still very much a tomato dominant sauce it just gives it a nice smooth finish if you will look at this he's eating the whole thing I mean I know spaghetti is not the most flattering thing to be eating on camera should we do the lady in the should we reenact it and what's up together I'm very tempted right now to reenact the lady in the moment but I'm gonna spare all of you and both of us at the same time and also it's so fun how do you want to eat your spaghetti you want to twirl it up on the the fork or do you want to just be crazy with it like this mmm I love the either way their sauce is ridiculous it's so good yes you can make your own marinara sauce also that's gonna be my cookbook coming out or if you're watching this after it came out it's in my cookbook get it but if you don't want to do that you can use your totally favorite store board brand I really love Victoria like I said I have no affiliation with them at the time of this video I just truly loved their sauce the sauce will be as good as the quality sauce that you use I know many people say the only sauce to make is your own but Victoria is probably one of the best jarred sauces you can find Costco sells have been giant to bottle ones for a great price goes to find the same brand in many markets all right guys so I think that's about it
