Install OPNSense on Proxmox - and first interface configuration

hey guys today I'm going to show you how you can install a open zense Virtual Machine on your existing proxar server first of all we need to download the Open sense installer be sure to dis select the DVD type now download the image I already downloaded it but I can show you in my Linux virtual machine how I extracted it you can do a right click and do extract so we have only the ISO on Windows you can do it with a tool like seven zip next you need to upload the file I already uploaded it so you can see the open sense DVD next we need to create a new virtual machine name it like you want select the OS open zense DVD leave system as this and give disk as you like at least 32 GB CPU give two or four and leave memory as it is add a network interface for your W port and I can show you in my already created VM I have two network interfaces one for van you can see one this is my internet connection and one for Lan where I will add my virtual machines now we can boot up from the DVD installation wait for the wial machine to start starting from DVD takes a while so I will fast forward it now we can log in with root and the password open sense OPN and then sense we switch to the Shell and type the comment open sense Das installer with ER at the end select your key map my gab is German I will need to go down a bit select V enter and continue click install and now you need to select your hard drive my hard drive has 32 GB as you can see here's the hard drive 32 the other item is the DVD installation so select the 32 click yes and click another times yes to be sure to override everything on the existing Drive now open senses installing to the hard drive I will Fast Forward it and now we are finished we can now change the root password or leave it as it is the virtual machine is now rebooting while rebooting I remove the installation DVD now we need to wait for op s to boot this time booting will be a bit faster because it's booting not from the DVD but from the hard drive now we need to log in Via rout and open zens and as you can see my land and Van ports are swapped the interfaces are wrong assigned so we need to assign them right I enter the option one assign interfaces and follow the wizard I want no AGS no vlans and now I need to type the interface name for when I will check in the hardware which interface is my R Port here you can see VM VR Z is my vanp and it has the me address for db0 the me address is seen here for db0 is is VT net0 so I type it now I need to type VT net one for land interface because it's the other [Music] one and that's it for assigning the interfaces now I don't want to give a name click yes for the correct assignment now I need to configure the IP address so I can access the web interface I select two set interface IP address I want to configure number one the land port and as I have a DHCP server I click yes for DHCP and no for the other options I don't want the hcp 6 and and no IPv6 address so I leave it blank https is okay so I click no no self- signed certificate and no restoring now you can see I got the IP 1921 1681 103 and connecting via virtual machine on the same vmb network on proxmox I I can access the open sense interface password as known Roo and open sense now I can follow the system wizard for General setup thank you guys for watching leave a like if you like the video and leave a comment what I have could done better subscribe for more con like this and see you next time
