look at it as every year's opportunity for me personally to go out there and play the game that i love i just want everybody to know that you know i put my heart out there for the for the team when my name just brought up just know that lavonte david was a legend [Music] the last time the buccaneers were in the playoffs was in 2007. five years later they drafted levante david to help them get back try as they did the team never made it until now and for the first time in 13 years the tampa bay buccaneers took nine years a very long time but understanding that you know if i keep you know keep fighting keep pushing things to turn around eventually all i just got to do is continue to do my part and voila i'll be here now lavonte is so deserving the type of player that he is the type of guy that he is he's a guy that deserves to be in the playoffs every year the way he puts his body on the line he goes to bat for his teammates a lot of people that said like ain't tell you never been to the playoffs but it's like it don't matter when i did go to the playoffs i won the whole thing and that's what we want the story to be for him the list of those rooting for levante is long but there's one person who stands out from the rest his mother lynette she was at every game you know throughout lily throughout high school she missed some college games and she been to almost every nfl game but in his first ever playoff game he'll play without her [Music] lynette david passed away in 2016 as a result of diabetes complications it was down in miami one day i got a call from my sister that's when everything you know just just unfolded you know just like my world basically sunk ever since levante surrounds himself with little reminders of his mother i have a picture of her in my house i right outside my bedroom so you know sometimes i walk out i speak to her say hi and then you know say thank the lord and i'll see another day it's just a good feeling to do that just making me feel like she's still here and she's still with me the phone calls and text messages may have stopped but he knows what they would say yeah i'm 1000 sure my phone would have been blowing up her screaming for joy probably be more excited than me calling me her baby boy you finally made it you finally did it you made it to the playoffs now now go show them what you bout [Music] the buccaneers enter round one of the post season already at a disadvantage devon white is out with covet 19. you know i just remember really having just like a headache you know i'm not a person that takes medicine i'm just a natural person you sleep it off it kind of didn't go away so i practiced through it and i was like okay i'm gonna go home and take a nap you know right after practice so when i woke up from my nap i was just sweating sweating and i was like yeah so man right i mean it's a big blow for devon white to be out you know he's one of our best players young savage out there flying around a lot of energy after suffering a knee injury last week mike evans could be in the same boat what updated video can you give us on mike evans mri and with a short week is it is there any realistic chance he could play him yeah the mri showed no structural damage talking with mike during the week you know i was like you're going to be all right man he's oh yeah i'll play on sunday but like you could kind of tell like he didn't really believe it 100 either it was kind of wishful thinking you know i know that i'm a tough player if the injury isn't too severe that i'm going to play i can't leave my teammates out to dry coming off the field last night chase young was yelling i want tom brady i want tom brady making him a captain as a rookie is speaks volumes it's one of those games where you better watch what you wish for [Music] it's all good i know chase is a great young player he went to ohio state so naturally i think the house state michigan thing wears off on him a little bit i understand that remember the beginning of the season they talk about you're watching the football chains who's that what now though first playoff game for tampa in 13 years first playoff game for washington in five we punch first always we strike first fly around make plays and have some fun let's get it one two three here is tom brady six rings tony and when he throws his first pass tonight he'll be the oldest quarterback to throw up has in a playoff game brady is complete for the first down mike evans right away with the catch throw in the middle complete to godwin and it looks like it's intercepted that's how we saw that what sean murphy bunting got the hands down there at the back on third and three on play action brady to his second look it's open it's antonio brown for the touchdown let's get started let's go and brady catch the drive with a 36-yard score to put tampa up nine to nothing hey like that baby no i love that get another one we did that together the bucks come out swinging and as mike evans plays with an injured knee chris godwin and the offense rolls it's caught on the touchdown godwin tom brady told us chris godwin is an exceptional receiver he told us the best hands he's ever been around big man who can run i'll take it all day every day with the best receivers in the world the best receivers in the world got my first postage and touchdown in my first posting game in the first half i'm like yo this is dope i've been waiting for this opportunity my entire life but soon after things take a turn for chris brady throws over the top that way incomplete that's two balls that we've seen go through chris godwin's hands and that's unusual in the 25-yard line they bring pressure as brady throws and godwin couldn't bring it in he should catch this ball no question about it tom brady told us he this guy has great hands you know i pride myself on being a guy that's reliable uh that's short handed you know a guy that my teammates can you know can depend on and to see kind of what transpired uh it like it rattled me we're seeing just a little maybe a little nerves here on chris goblin's part i'm not i'm not sure but i'm not used to seeing him drop balls like this it never comes easy and it never is given to you especially in those moments those playoff games are the hardest games of the year they're the best defenses it's the toughest conditions it's cold and some people elevate big drive now big drive the player to elevate is cameron [Music] brady with play action and throws complete cameron great one more time inside the tent and across it's cameron great having an outstanding evening here in landover the week before i think i only had uh one target kind of found ourselves having some success with some flash and passes with two tight ends and you know i caught one and then kind of tom kept coming back to me good route cam cam's everything you want in a teammate you can rely on him for anything he just he comes up big in big situations the moment's isn't too big for him he really puts a lot into his prep yeah see that you see that disease okay whatever you want you're hot baby your heart is you feel it i'm gonna hit quarterback stop containing the quarterback let's go i just noticed a lot of a lot of emotions i mean it was a lot of first-timers in that game for first-time playoff guys in that game we were just uncharacteristic you know just doing things that we don't normally do missing opportunities missing a whole bunch of opportunities did he get the feet down yes he did touchdown stevenson's we knew that we kind of would be able to win the football game off talent but throughout the rest of the playoffs i knew what we was doing that saturday wasn't going to get us to where we wanted to be let's go d let's go get go come on the cinderella story's got one more chance to write an incredible chapter taylor heinecke with a chance to get one of those fourth quarter comeback drives that that we always talk about 22. it's 30-10 and the pressure's coming heineken look out from behind he gets brought down and sacked by lafonte david a big will set up fourth down and we'll see if washington will just regroup with the two-minute warning for heineken and washington the season has come down 2-1 play you got to get everybody deep enough to get that first down bucks are going to play coverage i almost thought todd bowles might blitz him but they're going to sit back there and play coverage they rush for heineken still is flushed he's pressured he's got to fling it throws it down and incomplete that will turn it back to tampa and bring this one in all likelihood to an end good job boys a lot more ahead right come on the bucks walk away with the victory and the man who wanted tom brady walks away empty-handed hey chase where to play bro good job keep it up i need something from you though what you need i need this and as for labonte david the nine-year vet finally gets his first career play-off win all right know i'm coming with it [Music] hey coach you lost ronald jones and and uh can you talk about how leonard burnett came in and played ellen played great probably best he played all year uh knew it was going to be a big game we only had two backs uh couldn't say enough about leonard and how he stepped up hey leonard they went to you early and often how much did that help you to get involved in the game from the very start on those early drives uh it was cool you know but that's my job even with leonard fournette's big game against washington it's hardly been the season he imagined for himself when he signed back in september it's been it's been an up and down up and down season for me i think this year it tested me my humbleness you know i mean we had some ups and downs i think lenny would tell you the same he's a player that we felt we were very high on that year in the draft when he got picked very high he had three really good years in jacksonville he was the workhorse there you know at one point it's no secret he was a he was a healthy scratch and um i think after that point something clicked and he realized he was part of something special here it was difficult very difficult uh me being the number one guy my entire life and you know for me coming in and i have to play you know the back the back row i was upset about it but i had to work my tail off i had to compete every day no matter what the situation was how i look i know who he is as a player and he knows who he is as a player so it was hard for me to tell him like you know go to him then me being younger hard to go to a person that's always been a man and be like hey bro you gotta accept this new role with an injury to rojo and rojo having to sit out some games with covid he took the bull by the horns and he gave us what we needed nothing was gonna stand in the way of fournette from three yards out six touchdowns in the regular season hey ball out bro you played your mass off way to go baby it was a fear of failure that some people have so when you get into big moments it paralyzes them a bit and i've seen it with a lot of athletes over the course of a 21-year career the fear of failure doesn't bother lenny before play on play off lenny you ever been here it's another opportunity you know to show them why who i am why i got drafted highs i did and uh why i came here to help out this team the bucks are peaking at the right time there's no question they look like they're firing on all cylinders but let's keep in mind when i and i know it's hard to imagine people think imagine tom brady being beaten three times by a team in his own division who he knows he has to be well that's hard to imagine but in fact what history bears out is if one team beats another twice in the regular season they're going to do it again in the playoffs the saints have had our number uh for the past couple years we hadn't even really played them close at any point going into the playoff game against new orleans we had already got beaten by them the first game in a game in october we go and we're like you know what it's gonna be a lot different this time around we're gonna play them at home there's a sunday night football and we played the worst game of the year they got zero points yeah that was really the low point for us as a team during the season it was really bad probably that's the worst i ever gonna be they're a cocky team you know and they have every right to be you know with the talent they had and how many times they beat the bucks they had a lot of confidence in what they were doing and they had a lot of confidence that it was going to go a lot like it did on that sunday night game and i think we had different idea a totally different team we're not even near the same team we were back then we're still learning and those things snowballed i mean that game didn't mean anything as far as this game we recognized the mistakes of the previous games and we also realized how far we had grown since then here we go here's our chance to finally beat the saints but it's hard to not have like those thoughts in the back your mind like man those guys like for whatever reason we just don't play our best against them the playoff game is more significant more magnitude to the game so we knew they was going to feel it even worse so man we went in there with a mindset that we weren't going to be defeated the whole week leading up to it was about you know taking over their trap as we like to say devon white is back from the coven 19 list and back home in louisiana it's where he and leonard fournette built their on-field reputations tonight is about reinforcing them we were here week one these two teams hooked up in week nine and you just had a feeling at some point in january of 2021 they'd be going at it again hey we earned the right to be here which i did last week we did that man come on everything everybody trying to take away from us we got to go earn that and let's start with them the mother that's in black they opt tonight the saints won the toss they defer the bucks will start with the ball and bruce arians told us we want to start with the ball they want to attack hey luna hey linda he can't hold you bro i can't hold you [Applause] fournette gets the start and gets the football nice carry here by fournette here's a nice cut by fournette coming off a big game against washington and he looks like a different back run that thing buddy my mindset was he's trying to break their will guys already had that that fire a little under them and also i did too you know it's my hometown where i'm from hey don't touch me all right hey hey this is starting the trenches man right here with drew brees and the saints they're four-time division champs the last four years we know about drew from the 21 camaro out of here the presence of devon white elevates the play of everyone on the buccaneers defense that's how you solve the play man that's how y'all saw the play he knew when he came back he was gonna be extra juiced up and uh he came in and showed up hey good siree we gonna be ready like there ain't no if ends and bless about it we don't have it on our mind we want them to feel we felt the first two games let's go get them all right go get them turn over [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the second of this postseason and that is instant life for the buccaneers last time we got behind it just snowballed and it went from not good to bad to really bad to oh my god you know it's embarrassing and we turned it around and you know we came with things we really liked their defense they don't want to give up big plays at all they'd rather try to get you to run the ball and they're great stopping the run brees to the sideline and jameis winston comes in this is interesting i mean i would say they'd be taking a shot if deontay harris was in the game well now they've got winston lined up wide to the outside in a direct snap to camaro now winston now trequan smith flag is down smith is into the end zone for a touchdown we killing ourselves bro third alone it been third and ten third and fourteen man that's old come on man come on listen listen listen it's too close right now yeah underneath that's a great job by leonard fournette hey b that third one got to believe in us gotta run that got two they're okay number 28 and he gives tampa bay a first down good snap good hold good kick each kicker is two for two each team has a touchdown and we are tied up goal 13 13. so that means let's go zero zero defense up first this is where you [Music] hey we didn't even play our best football in fact we didn't play well at all until that last drive offensively and yet here it is a 13-13 game [Applause] right about now things could easily get out of hand but these bucks can take a punch and antoine winfield jr delivers one right back third and two quick throw cook makes the catch first down balls out and into the arms of devon white i think that was the turning point in the ball game they could have gone by and scored and uh and had a two-possession game the rookie forced the fumble no we just talked about it me and him was having conversations throughout the game they're like hey one of us is going to make the big play like we're young but it's our team that's why they drafted us it's a new area in temple and we want to show everybody good protection again pass caught touchdown fournette buccaneers turned that takeaway into at least six what's that ass up man dude listen you know you're i think it's gonna be me though i feel it like i know it's my time to make a play a big play i had got the former recovery you know from winfield's turnover but that was his play but i know i need to make my own play i'm gonna put the dagger in him [Applause] what still no catches for michael thomas you see the total yards in the game second at eight freeze throws and he's picked by devon white another turnover and white picks his way down the let's go take away number three for this tampa bay defense and i feel like that was one of the biggest moments in the game that series that drive i feel like if they go down and score they probably win the game i feel like if we take the ball away and give our offense a chance to put more points on the board we win the game [Applause] ladies gonna take it tom brady has got the touchdown on the carry from just outside the one and the lead is extended to nine with the extra point coming up four and a half now to go well they've got to get somebody down the middle or up the sideline is able to step into this one this one's up for grabs and pits intercepted by mike edwards all those guys on defense showed up how they covered michael thomas how they stopped kamara how they played brees how we played defensively really was the game third down and three and that's gonna do it that'll take this game to the two-minute warning it's fournette who's had another strong game has a five-yard pickup and a first down [Music] that is going to be one heck of a plane ride back to tampa bay for this football in his second year has taken the bucks with a help from a 43 year old quarterback named brady to get into the nfc championship game for that match-up against aaron rodgers and the multi-faceted red-hot attack for the green bay packers what a game that'll be radiant breeze come together for what is likely the final time on the football field with uniforms on and brady is the one who gets to celebrate after this one bro [Music] i'm glad we found a way because losing to the same team three times in a year would have been oh man for for us would have been mind-blowing just a team that's in our division that's had our number for a while and like when we beat them in the postseason it's like well clearly like we're made for this moment that was such a big big step for us as a team that like we felt like man if we can beat the saints like anyone else is gonna be easy good luck go win it hey great job we went there expecting to win uh it wasn't a shock to us we went there expecting to win and uh and we're gonna go to the packers expecting a win talking to you we're squatting out there tomorrow nation we did it we got one more game left green and passengers are coming as the season went on i thought i was progressively progressively getting better he's alone inside he's one of the big reasons why this team is so hard to run the football against the night of that chicago game i think i was starting one to have one of the best games of my career [Music] [Applause] the game was slowing down for me i was i was seeing offensive plays that i'd never seen before and i was like everything was just going perfect for me and uh boom i'd expect bulls to start bringing him now extra men on the rush here montgomery looking for somewhere to go and brought down from behind by devon white now vida veya is injured we had a blitz call and they ran like a quick screen or whatever i'm running to the guy and i'm going to jump on his leg and i landed on vidalia because he was talking as well that big presence in the middle so vital to what todd bulls is doing on defense i remember everything the moment you know and i took a knee and i seen you down i was like yeah it looked bad man you know he made game easier for me guys like me and devin so you know very unfortunate that that had to happen to him but uh you know if you know vita he's always a good experience he's always a hospital he's always positive you've seen him run over to dudes and score that time and then tom brady hugged him you want to hug too i want a hug come on brady hey make sure he gets a hug from tom brady brady still never gave him a hug i got up and they they carted me off the field and i was uh i was just sit i was thinking to myself i was like damn i don't think it's broken i vito is a special player huge huge loss to us at that time and to watch him rehab and work and work and work then seeing him running as we were getting ready to go in the playoffs it's like hey we'll keep winning you keep working you know and then talking to the strength coaches they're like he wants to play and that's the biggest part of rehab is wanting to right after the game i got onto the bus and sue was sitting there crossing me he put the idea in my head he's like you can you could probably come back if we keep winning the playoffs and we just keep winning out after that night i was like i had to add my head like yo i'll make it back know it's rare that you would practice going to the championship game and over your shoulder is a stadium with a uh banner for super bowl 55 not that you need a visual reminder but how unique is it to be so close and and realize you know that's where the game is yeah we don't play that game this week that's the message to everybody we play the packers in the nfc championship game you start thinking about the super bowl get your ass beaten be packing your bags on monday only four franchises remain in the race for a championship while every other team in the nfc is at home the tampa bay buccaneers pack their bags for the frozen tundra i mean what more could you ask than going to lambeau field in january to play an nfc championship game i mean if there's ever a script to write for an nfl player you want to go basically to the mecca or the home of football against the packers the top team in the whole conference no better walk on this baby great journey one more like i walked out of the tunnel and like you just see like the lambo field sign on you know above the scoreboard and i got i got chills like obviously it was cold but i got it was a different type of chill you know the mystique behind it here you are nfc championship game bertha's super bowl on the line it's snowing pre-game the frozen tundra lambo field the super bowl man outside of brady who obviously this is huge for his career what needs to happen for the bucks to upset the packers i think a lot of things have to happen perfectly for them it's just a matter of going up there and not getting over hyped to see everybody do their jobs and and we were plenty good enough to win be great all [ __ ] day fellas beef and great have one thing on your mind that's great let's go lines on three one two three five we were going to green bay and ba was like listen they're gonna have some fans and we're we got to prepare for this crowd noise and i was like you know we haven't had crowd names all year how loud could it be if you've ever wondered about how much noise a crowd of 8 500 people could make the answer is [Applause] he put crowd noise in practice i'm so glad ba decided to do that it forced all our communication it forced all the things that we had probably taken for granted that oh we could just handle communication this way it's time to kick somebody ass man hey look over there we don't give a [ __ ] it's all about us we know we want to go we want to go play it on this route we got to take the other day at the end of a season unlike any other it just doesn't get any better than what we're about to see with aaron rodgers taking on tom brady [Music] brady floats [Music] they had those big things that they were banging against the bleachers it was so loud i was like 9 000 people here it feels like 50 000. [Music] [Applause] brady throws end zone he's got evans for the touchdown third down conversions on their way down the field and mike evans i'll do a perfect ball bro wow cause that corner is polished look he was falling and he jumped up almost got it but it went right over and the early points for the buccaneers here on the road for the first time in more than three months vida veya returns to the field against the league mvp vita's impact is felt immediately i was just more nervous that i was away from the game for so long that when i came back my mind was like still in chicago that night when i was playing good so when i came back i was alright i got this big v to veya over the ball for tampa now time bay out play is made by shaq barrett rogers is set right near the five by jason pierre you got dogs like that up front that can get out to the quarterback at any time without pressuring the quarterback as far as listening and stuff like that it gives you all the confidence to give you the opportunity to just fly around and try to make plays on the back end it's something that chris godwin misplaced when the playoffs began we have a play easy play for me right just like a short slant route in that moment i'm sorry cool like it's easy like don't drop it but you know like when you start thinking like that obviously the balls will come your way and obviously you're gonna drop it second down and nine i think me overthinking that took me back to like washington for a second like once i dropped that pass i bounced back i'm like yeah you're good you're still cg your track worker speaks for itself like you're good and what happens is the very next play 50 50 60 yard gain third down and nine brady slides he's going for god one downfield and a juggle and a catch and that'll get some confidence back 52 yards to godwin it was a dope moment for me to be able to make that play and i was like i gotta i gotta make this shake on first down fournette stutter steps and now is able to bounce try to score and uh this in this case i scored it was a crazy way jumping over one of my office alignment stepping on some one hand breaking a tackle then a smooth spin move at the end and then i finished it with the touchdown that looked like a young shady huh yeah it was he's gonna be good to hunt bro and i'll say huh he's gonna be talking a hunk two timeouts left the clock is all the way down to 40 seconds left and running after that 23-yard completion lazard and now is sacked by jason pierre ball jpp he's gone after him a couple times now [Applause] it's going off around here well we got that interception and i was really pissed off after we don't make it on third down and it called for the punt team called time out just to think about it go through the scenarios the worst case scenario for me would they might get they might get a field goal we would still be winning typically you want to try to in that situation you you want to at least get a field goal but we're right on the uh on the edge of like field goal range we hit the fourth down play and ba was like you know we're going for we're gonna you know let's take one shot and after calling a timeout and thinking about it on fourth down the offense comes back out on the field i went over to find brian griffin so i could hear what the play call was and i heard the play call and it was not what i was expecting at all we're going left everyone's got to go we say we're taking a shot so me and scotty have mirrored routes we both won gold balls his is from a tighter split i saw the corner was kind of like squatting because corner i don't know if he was just playing to keep us out of field goal range the thing with scotty is once he's running if you don't get your hands on him and he can get up to full speed i mean he's going to run by basically anybody really the key play on that was leonard fournette gronk got beat inside and leonard came across and hit the guy right this time i was getting ready to throw the ball [Music] i see tom throw the ball and like i see scotty just like get the step without like there's no way this guy's gonna get this i just threw it out there and scotty just tracked it down for 39 yards gets the touchdown that's one of the biggest plays of the season right there like there's no shot there's no way that this just happened like before halftime like it's written that we have we have to win this game the situation like i think some teams would have tried to you know run the quick out get out of bounds make the field go a little easier but that's just not the way like ba and byron see the game hey that's what i dreamed up baby playoffs championship let's go ended up being a touchdown right before half which gave us a good lead but we certainly knew the game won over at that point talking to matt lafleur he said regarding the shock of how that first half ended it's what we preach all season you have to be mentally strong and resilient jones coming across the field and that's a fun one picked up by devin white white is inside the 10. whitehead knocked it out the game went just how i thought i just knew we would dominate the packers you know because throughout the whole playoffs when i came back for the first game just watching practices everything just went to a new level i knew our mindset was right the next play tom brady hits cameron braid for a touchdown but that's where things take a turn just when the game looks like a repeat of week six the green bay packers show why they have the best record in the nfc rogers the projection passes [Music] [Applause] intercepted by alexander packers take over but still there's no way to slow down the buccaneers pass rush this tampa bay defense has sacked aaron rodgers [Music] good start off the edge the packers are persistent and with just over two minutes left they have the opportunity to tie the game up what's it going to be on third and goal [Music] rogers throws broken up adam's a target well defended mike edwards instead of going for it here on fourth and goal crosby makes this a five-point game again really surprised by that decision joe i thought that they would go for it on fourth down hey everybody at peppermint winning folks let's bring it back to the heat tom brady on the field and the game hangs in the balance for a trip to super bowl 55 and here we are we need to run the ball on my left run it and then it'll be 15 seconds no we can't go i completely forgot that we had been working on the play for over a month at that point uh which was supposed to be a two-minute play and it was like a a toss to me you gotta stay in balance chris you can't run out after the you know the struggles i had early in the postseason and bouncing back from that for the coaching staff to be like yo we need five yards chris go get it i was honored by that and i'm like i gotta make it shake i gotta i have i have to figure out a way to make it happen third down and five here with 48 seconds [Music] left well obviously when you're watching the game on tv you see the yellow line you know like they they put it on but it's not on the actual field but when i got the pitch i could see a yellow line like it felt like i was like watching the game on tv but also in the moment at the same time and then like it just felt like it was a slow I knew every episode had been like a quarter of the season each, so I figured this one would be the whole playoffs

I was about halfway through when I thought it'd be cool if they did an episode just for the Super Bowl, but since there was still like 25 minutes left, I thought it'd be in this one
