hi and welcome to this video today i am going to show you how to transfer mixamo animation clips to your rugby character in maya before we start i download a free character free rigid character from cg trader i think this is cool we can use this character for our experiment now import the downloaded character yes now as in a basic shader let's check the bone setup first okay the skeleton setup looks good now what i'm going to do is i'm going to create a control rig using this character controller click on the control trick and click define now we assign the bone to the controller double click on the hips and click the hips joint now the hip joint is added to the hips control and double click on the thighs and click on the thigh bone and in the same way knee and ankle now as we can see it is uh automatically mirrored as we enable the mirror option and in the same way add all the joints you can also right click and assign the bone to the control tray just right click as in the selected bone once all the joints are selected the green tick mark will uh come on the right top corner so this character has been defined now we save the definition and we also rename the character and let's save this file okay now our character is ready now we go to uh mixamo so select your animation clip we choose a better animation clip okay so now download this fbx animation and we also need to download a t-pose of this character because we need to uh create a character definition in maya so we need depose of this character okay now import the tpos first and we have to create a control rig click on the define and just add the joins to the rig controls in the same way we did before so [Music] do okay now our character definition is ready let's save it first we name our character let's call uh humanoid make some more humanoid and save this definition okay okay we no need to save this file we just import the depos fbx once again and create a control tree this time we no need to select all the joints and add to the control because we already saved the definition we can load it okay let's name it now import the maximum animation clip hip hop dancing here now input your character right and go to the character tab and select the human rig and pick the source from humanoid what actually happening here is the keyframe in the humanoid sources being copied to the human rig that is our own rig let's hide the humanoid character i think there is this minor error we can fix this oh sorry we have to select the join jaw joint yes okay now let's play now our mixer animation clip has been transferred to our maya rig thanks for watching
