II Samuel ~ 22:26 to 22:42

all right good day to you god bless you welcome to the shepherd's chapel welcome to this family bible study hour praise god we've been waiting on you we're ready to get back into our father's word we're about to complete this second book of samuel i want you to remember this 22nd ver chapter specifically we're putting the cap if you would on the work of david david's ministry you might call it and it's important that you receive the key to david that key that unlocks knowledge call it a door if you like unlocks it whereby you can see into the in-depth teachings of our father from his word giving you eyes to see ears to hear our father leading you and guiding you and we had completed the in chapter 22 verse 26 of ii samuel and you'll remember one very important thing remember i stated in the last lecture at the close that from your own mouth you determine what your life is you make your own bed and you sleep in it if you are good to our father he is good to you if you disobey our father then he will see that you get what you have coming so in as much as he is our nearest of kin he created your very soul then know and understand that he loves you and as much as you are his child don't forget to let him know that would you do that all right i want to pick it up with verse 26 we ask a word of wisdom from yeshua messiah jesus the christ listen to this 26th verse very carefully don't read over it this is reporting by david in a psalm the words of almighty god verse 26 with the merciful thou will show thyself merciful isn't that simple and with the upright man thou will show thyself upright that means just upright in the hebrew tongue is just if you are just god will be just you and the opposite of that is if you are unjust certainly you're going to have trouble in your life friend because the almighty is going to be unjust with you it's that simple what which do you want friend you want to be happy or you want to be unhappy and like i told you yesterday when one of these poor me baby people come around i like to put this in their face and have them to stand up and act like a man or a woman of god rather than some sniveling poor me baby because they brought their troubles on themselves now there are certainly exemptions to this and as much as everyone can be cast into a down spell but god's people don't stay there they get back up so if you're just god will be just to you has god been unjust to you lately well then you are with him that's simple friend i'm talking about over the long haul i'm talking about if your life continues to have upset and trouble it's your fault because you're not leveling with our father you might say well what can he do about it a great deal listen to his promise as we continue verse 27 with the pure thou will show thyself pure in other words if purer means if you're honest if you're if you are true to the father he's going to give you a pure life also and with the froward that will show thyself unsavory i want i want to translate that for you re-translate it if i may if if you are very disobedient if you are the one that likes to find trouble then what it really says is god's ready to wrestle with you god's ready to contend with you and if you know the power of almighty god if you think he can't turn your little life into a bed of thorns you're kidding yourself so the choice is yours you can be pure you can be just you can be merciful to our father his word through his word and that's what your life will be he will be merciful unto you he will see and as much as god is in control he will see that your life is in control also and it will be he that controls it and you'll be happy so you see most people that are unhappy are unhappy simply because they bring it upon themselves stop think consider evaluate yourself have you given god any pleasure lately if you told him you loved him well i've been busy he's too busy for you too friend and he's going to pass you by and you're going to end up with nothing because you're too busy to say father i love you father i need you help me do you think he want because you will help one of your children if one of your children needs something you're going to see to it if it's at all possible that they have it how much less do you think our father is than you if you need something if you're hurting don't you think he loves you enough that he will reach down and touch you of course he will so be righteous be happy god will be happy with you it pleasures him remember he said in the book of isaiah i don't want your burnt offerings i want your love your honesty because you're my child and he is your next of kin so we see then in our father's word that you control your life a great deal more than you might think for out of your own mouth is your path and let's continue let's bring the next verse up verse 28 we continue and the afflicted people afflicted by who now don't read over it afflicted by satan by evil spirits those that are afflicted by evil spirits those people thou wilt save god if you will to put your trust in him he will move those wicked spirits the evil spirits he will move the devil out of your life but thine eyes are upon the haudi do you know what the hardy are that's those that take the high seat those that begin to think they're really something what does he do with those that take the high seat and think there are really something that thou mayest bring them down you want to take that road friend well you don't understand pastor murray i'm a big man in the church or you are oh who made you a big man in the church well the deacons did well if the deacons did it friend you still got trouble because it's almighty god that gives the gifts that gives a person a man a woman or a child the ability to teach god's word not some board of deacons so you want to be careful if you take the high seat because god has a way of bringing you down to the low seat okay let's go on with verse 29 for thou art my lamp do you have another light that's your candle your light in the darkness when you walk almighty god himself lights the way for you mentally spiritually and yes even physically oh lord and the lord will lighten my darkness what is darkness who is the prince of darkness the prince of darkness is satan he is the devil and god's candle his truth shines forth as you walk and god moves those things off your path no stones in your road are at least nothing that you can't handle god's people are can do type people when it's too rough for everybody else to plow it's just about right for god's people they like it that way because they've been tried and they've been tested and they know that they have a strong wall in god himself that prepares the way he will be your light he will be your candle these verses again are the key to david what mental attitude are you supposed to have strong you're not supposed if you call yourself a christian and you've got to go out and seek counseling and prop yourself out on some psychiatrist couch you got trouble friend for out of your own mouth you're talking to the wrong people i'm not saying there are not cases where perhaps this is necessary and a help but you better get your ducks in a row and you better learn who to go to when you have a problem because hey man can't do a whole lot about your problems but your father your heavenly father he can take care of them you know why he loves you again i would say don't forget to let him know daily that you love him okay let's continue on verse 30 for by thee by who in other words by almighty god i have run through the truth by my god have i leaped over a wall in other words that that is evil that that is an evil spirit cannot give you a whole lot of trouble if you have christ in you they run from you they know that you can crush them with your very presence when you have that holy spirit that warmth that's your kind of glory that is warmth to you but as we read back in earlier verses six and seven that god is a consuming fire as the fire comes from his nostrils if you're wicked it'll burn you bet i speak in a spiritual sense but that same fire from almighty god warms your heart and lets you know that your father has touched you that he's god he is he has lighted your path that he is that candle in your darkness and the prince of darkness satan as he walks this earth that light that is so bright means death to him and he's going to run from you god makes you a champion of the people that's why i can say when it's too rough for everybody else to plow it's just right for a man or a woman of god that has the key to david and that's why this key to understanding is so important let's continue on verse 31 as for god this is to say as for our father his way is perfect and that's the only perfection there is you're a sinner i'm a sinner we all fall short we all trip up but who better to have an almighty god to pick you up and let you be proud again our father his way is perfect the word of the lord is tried you want to know how much you can count on this word this word that i hold in my hand you can count on it because it has been tried and tested hey hey let me ask you a question have you tested your father lately you know he's made it pretty plain he's a failure if he does not produce the fulfillment of these scriptures we've just read excuse me if you are merciful and if he does not return that mercy to you then something's wrong but this word has been tested hey don't try to con god don't try to pull any funny bunny stuff and try to con him but if from your heart in your very intellect if you honestly try to please our father testing his word is perfect he'll be pleased with you and he'll bless you things will begin to go right for you and you will be a man a woman or a child of the living god word is perfect's word is tried it's tested he who is this he god yahweh our father he is a buckler to all to how many to all them that trust in him how important is trust then friend that's why i'm saying you can't connie don't try to play games with him it won't work how important then is trust he just said it don't read over it to every living being that will trust in me that's what he's saying i will be his buckler do you know what a buckler is a buckler is a shield i see a little more in it you know there were two shields the hebrew word that is translated shield and that is the huge shield the large shield that you hold up that protects the entire body but the buckler was usually a smaller shield that was placed on say this arm you've seen it a smaller shield and that says a great deal to me it says that if anything gets past this shield that god is the shield behind that to stop them stop the evil spirits this is talking uh in a figurative figuratively speaking in a spiritual sense if anything gets past you the shield you put up god will stop it he's able he's happy to do it for you his word is perfect it has been promised claim it that's where many people fall short they read these scriptures and it goes in this year and out this and they hear nothing take it as the word of your father he that loves you most and that his word is good you can trust it if you don't trust it don't try it you're wasting your time but it's very real and it's very simple for an intelligent person to say i'm going to test his word but you've got to be faithful and trust while you test and you will find that it is pure as the early morning do that his word is the gospel okay trusting it's important that you do verse 32 for who is god save the lord may i break that down who is el except yahweh they yahweh they being that sacred name who is god except god all right i will translate back to english and who is a rock save our god now i word of caution in deuteronomy chapter 32 you are warned be careful that you don't build on the false rock well who is the false rock it's satan you know he has we have the holy spirit from our father but he has evil spirits as well that can tickle your little fancy or make your emotions rise but they're evil spirits and they're short-lived for they do not have eternal life nor will you if you follow them so see that you are built on that rock that is the living god it is a foundation that is not like quicksand it is a foundation that is sure and that is true [Music] verse 33 god is my strength and power friend if you think you have any strength and power you're mistaken god is your strength and power the strength that prevails the strength that overcomes you are nothing i am nothing our righteousness is as filthy rags compared to the glory and the righteousness of the living father but when you take him within yourself then he is your strength and he is the creator of all things god is my strength and power and he maketh my way perfect that's the only thing perfect about you is the spirit that is in you from our father and he makes your way perfect what is this word way what does it mean it's path it's the path you travel you want to cut out across the thorns friend have at it go without god and go through the thistles but you can travel that path that is proven you can travel that path that god is your strength he is your shield he is your buckler and he protects that way that you travel why because you're his child he looks out for you verse 34 he maketh my feet like hines feet and sets me up on my high places do you understand what that says god makes my feet as nimble as a deer's feet and i can hop even like the high fences as i travel through life do you know something dear one if you believe that in your work in planting seeds and doing your father's work he can make you so successful that you feel like that deer or that gazelle that can leap the fence and have the prize because god sees in that perfect way that you travel that you have the best of everything the blessings that you need not miss perhaps unnecessary frills but what you need in life you will have in his way and what does it can you picture a deer as he leaps through the forest and is able to travel even in the wilderness with the speed of a horse and enjoys himself as he travels then you can enjoy life the same way if you partake of these things in your mind and understand the completeness of the living god verse 35 he teacheth my hands to war so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms do you understand we're speaking in a figurative way here now stop and think the living god would teach me to war of course the conflict from the beginning was between satan and god between satan and christ that's what the war is about what were you taught in ephesians chapter 6 concerning the gospel armor what is the war about paul made it very clear he said we were not against the strength of the arm but we war against principalities and powers in dark places which is to say evil spirits whose evil spirit satan's and god will give you that inner spirit with the holy spirit that when you order satan out of your life or behind me get behind me satan in the name of yeshua in the name of jesus then satan has no choice but to hang his head like a whimpering old hound dog and tuck his tail between his legs and leave because he has had contended with a warrior of the living god again that's why our father doesn't want people that fall down and moan and groan and weep for themselves he wants men women and children that can stand up and act like sons of the living god like daughters of the host on high like children that have been taught and trained in the way the way that is perfect and the way that drives satan from your family many of you know you husbands and wives you stand in one corner and you bicker back and forth and you argue at each other and you know as sure as i'm sitting at this desk that you love each other more than you do anyone else in this world and yet you're fighting why because you've got satan over in the corner applauding and laughing oh two more of god's children i've got them and you let him get away with it you order him out of your home and you begin to love those that you love and you begin to speak that love from your mouth and that closeness and keep those evil spirits out of your home you know get your home and from your mouth you pass sentence on the happiness thereof the success thereof the safety thereof whether you want god protecting it or you want it open to the wolves of the evil spirits it's your choice what kind of life you want take it god has promised but at the same time he has promised he has sentenced what do you mean sentenced call it a curse if you want it's your choice he teaches you how to war in that gospel armor and as we come into the end times it is very necessary verse 36 thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation that's from the gospel armor remember and the end thy gentleness listen to this and thy gentleness has made me great well now wait a minute that's there there's a there's a contradiction there god's going to teach me to war and yet my gentleness has made me great well god is gentle with those he loves god's wrath that consuming fire of the end times is not pointed at god's children god doesn't want to burn you he wants to embrace you he wants to love you but those that refuse in naming their own way his wrath will come upon them but allow his gentleness to dwell within you allow that gentleness to make you great it's very difficult for some people to understand how someone could teach so bold even such as i so coarse and yet have a bit of gentleness about them in the love of god that is god's word dear one that is the way our father is well why is it he's not always gentle if you have two children and one is a good child and the other is a regular little hellion are you going to be gentle with both of them then i would say to you you don't love the one that's a hellion i'll say it again you as a parent do not love the child that is a hellion a troublemaker or you'd correct the child you'd get the two before out now you don't correct a child with a two before i'm speaking again spiritually you get tough and you bring forth discipline and the child is disciplined because you love the child and soon you have two well-behaved children well our father is no different he is gentle if you will allow him to be but he is rough on you if you don't follow his word your life will be troubled that husband and wife will argue and they will bicker because the evil spirit lurks in the very midst and then neither one will order it out in the name of yeshua in the name of jesus they put up with it is that ignorance no is it because they don't believe well i hope not it's that they don't claim the promise see that you do and be gentle with those you love but bring discipline upon those that discipline is needed verse 37 thou hast enlarged my steps under me for that my feet did not slip in the hebrew this says you have enlarged my steps whereby i seem to just cover great spans of distance and yet i don't spring my ankle it's really ankle rather than feet i can still control my step god can do that in your life in a spiritual way you can get so much more done in a day because he gives you that ability that gift and when you've got satan now do you realize how much of your day that you can waste bickering don't let satan do that to you verse 38 i have pursued mine enemies and destroyed them and turned not again until i had consumed them you know who are your enemies the evil spirits pronounce them out pronounce them back order them back where they came from and that is death to them and they are consumed does someone talk about you or against you let god handle it is he not your buckler you don't have to don't let anyone run over you this little business of a christian having to lay down and let somebody kick him is a bunch of malarkey that's making a second class citizen out of you god doesn't appreciate a child it won't look out for itself it is written get along with your neighbor if it is possible it is written love your enemy it is written also love your child but if your child misbehaves whack him if your enemy misbehaves whacking with whatever is necessary verse 39 and i have consumed them and wounded them that they could not arise yeah they are fallen under my feet is it not written that jesus christ when he rose from the tomb went to the right hand of the living god and the earth was made his footstool and they're under it but he has certain people champions of this end time that god calls to plant seeds to destroy the enemies of that satan brings among us destroys them in what way through the holy spirit in that time when they will be placed under his feet which is to say the very last day of this earth age 40 for thou hast girded me with strength to battle do you know what the girdle is god has enclosed you god is your belt god is around your waist he's holding you whereby you won't fall fail or fall in battle what more could you ask for what this is in daily life dear one do you understand what you can accomplish if you just step out there and trust and do it and then them that rose up against me hath thou subdued under me you see it's god that does it god subdues your enemy well how can he do that because he's all-powerful do you think as well as he can bless you if you listen to him that he cannot curse your enemies and cause them to fall of course he does that's why he says pray for them even they need it because god's going to bring them down if anyone says a thing against you you don't have to correct them god will correct them 41 thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies that i might destroy them that hate me you know what he's saying here again who is your enemy is satan his ways those that follow him to give someone's neck to you is a figure of speech and it simply means you know that's the old killer place that's where the juggler is see if god turns the neck up it's just one clean cut and they're gone all right and what it's saying in a spiritual sense is god makes them easy for you to do away with to put out of your path to put out of your life but it's god that does it you don't take the razor blade and and destroy anyone god is able to do it in other words he makes them easy prey to you because you have the holy spirit in you and those that would harm your family or cause unhappiness within your family don't be patient with them put them out anything that comes between a man and his wife is not to their benefit stand up protect your family let that christian love be founded there the rich christian heritage let it abound one more verse to conclude they looked but there was none to save that's to save your enemies after he gives they look around and cry for someone else say help me let them ask the devil to help them even unto the lord they'll even turn finally to the lord and say help me lord but he answereth them not do you know what we're talking about here we're talking about the end times and is it not written when they approached jesus at the end and said oh lord i've healed in your name i've cast out demons in your name and jesus said you get away from me i have never knew you therefore you must understand in these end times that there is a false christ approaching a false jesus it will be they that used his name he will be they that followed antichrist that jesus will say get away from me i never know you see that you follow his word that's part of the key to david that opens scriptures and let their truth fall forth to you you see one of the main things god will do for you if you trust him is that he will begin to open those scriptures to you that make your life a pleasure rather than misery that show you shows and teaches you the path that is best travel whereby his blessings will fall upon you all right bless your
