all right good day to you god bless you welcome to the Shepherd's chapel welcome to this family Bible study our praise God we're just sitting here waiting on you ready to get back into this book of Samuel how precious it is heard of yah we begin chapter 23 tonight having completed 22 probably one of the saddest chapters in this verse Samuel in as much as the entire priest line was murdered at the hands of salt how unfortunate with one son of that high priest escaping joining David and we pick it up we're going to move rattle on I'd kind of like to cover two chapters if it's possible in this lecture it's pretty simple and it flows real nice and there is a point overall that must be made and we'll make it if we complete okay we ask a word of wisdom from our Father in Jesus name chapter 23 verse 1 thus hit the ground rolling here first one then they told David saying behold the Philistines fight against Kela and they robbed the threshing floors they're taking the grain they're taking the supplies the staples Kia lob meaning in the Hebrew tongue fortress or enclosure it's an enclosed city therefore David inquired of the Lord saying shall I go and smite these Philistines question I want you to settle it in your mind after asking the Lord he went no further David always sought the Lord's will now listen carefully and the Lord said unto David go and smite the Philistines and save Keo three and David's men said unto Him behold we're afraid here in Judah how much more than if we come to Keela against the armies of the Philistines understand he has rather a small band yet 400-plus but the David - David the Lord has said take them you know when the father directs you with the repeat through his word are in whatever manner when you're sure it doesn't hurt to ask again to be sure unless you already are that would be a sin David will do that verse four and then David inquired the Lord yet again and the Lord answered him and said arise and go down to kill for I will you understand underline that in your mind I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand when it is written in those prophecies written concerning the last days you can stand on them they are set they are sure we will have victory over Antichrist as it is written and God will protect you the same as he protects this little David five so David and his men went to Kia law and fought with the Philistines and and brought away their cattle and smote them with a great slaughter so David saved the inhabitants of keylock even while he's still the enemy of salt he helps protect Saul again showing you that love he has for his King six and it came to pass when a Byatt are the son of a Himalaya fled to David to Kia oh you'll remember this is the son of the priest that he came down with an e thought in his hand he was still practicing the priesthood and he's the only one left from his family seven and he was told fall that David was come tequila and Saul said God have delivered him into my hand for he is shut in remember kill a meaning enclosed or a wall city fortress by entering into a town that have gates and bars I finally having David had been in the mountains the wilderness eight and Saul called all the people together to war to go down to kill ought to beseech David and his men hidden rather sad I want you to see what demonics can do to a man that old negative spirit when David with his love that he is showing for this one saw his own son-in-law he still turns against him Saul will do greater than this he will even give save it David's wife his daughter Michelle to another man demonics are evil wicked and cause men through that old spirit of jealousy and that old Eagle trip to do many things not necessarily becoming demand but Satan born within them when they are hearing that old spirit as all was mine and David knew that Saul secretly practiced mischief against him he knew he was still planning to catch him and he said to a by ATAR the priests bring hither the ephod again what is David doing in this matter he's seeking the Lord Tim then said David O Lord God of Israel thy servant have certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come Tequila to destroy the city for my sake you know I'm sure this was working quite a complex upon David for it would seem that he visited the priests house and Saul killed all the priests and here he is in this kill all that he had just saved from the Philistines which fall himself with his army should have protected them now he's afraid Saul will destroy the city simply because David had been there that old poor me jealousy trip Saul was on verse 11 will the men of kiya law deliver me up into his hand question will fall come down as thy servant hath heard question Saul asking God Oh Lord God of Israel I beseech thee tell thy servant and the Lord said he will come down 12 and then said David will the men of Kiel I deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul question and the Lord said they will deliver thee up just the way people our friend David and his men risking their neck a small band destroying the Philistines for them but they would still with Saul at the gate deliver or a spy out and let's all know they were there they would turn on them thirteen and then David and his men which were about 600 arose and departed out of Keala and went with us so ever they could go you understand could go and it was told Saul that David was escaped from Peola and he forbear to go for it seemed like he just never was quite a johnny-on-the-spot but there's a reason for that God had already anointed David God had already spoken that David would be king and even as it is written in the prophets from the root of Jesse would come the Messiah and he would come through this one David can you understand now why that Satan through his demonic or driving fall with this force demonic force to destroy David because Satan doesn't want the other son that is to say the son of God the Messiah The Anointed One the savior of the world to come forth he wants it all to himself so it is not necessarily totally the jealousy within Saul that is speaking that the jealousy of Satan 14 and David abode in the world and strongholds and remained it in a mountain in the wilderness of zip to say Battlement or a well-protected place and salt salt him every day hunting him down like a dog but God delivered him not into his hand who did not deliver him into his hand God God made them blind as bats the entire army as they sought out David in his band the same as he has people's eyes close to the truth of his word in this generation the coke of innocence he cast over them 15 and David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life and David was in the wilderness of Ziff in the wood 16 and Jonathan Saul's son arose and went to David into the wood and strengthened his hand in God these two Jonathan and David that blood brother contract that they had made that covenant for Jonathan indeed love David Jonathan knew that David had already been anointed of God to be king rather than Jonathan himself who was the firstborn of Saul Saul there was no jealousy whatsoever in this lad 17 and he said unto them fear not for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee in a sense he's prophesying understand and thou shalt be king over Israel and I shall be next unto thee not first not the first fruit of the King present but he knew God had chosen David and that also saw my father Noah he knows for a fact this will come to pass 18 and they too made a covenant before the Lord and David abode in the wood and Jonathan went to his house 19 then came up the Zipp fight to Saul to give you saying that not David hide himself with us and strongholds in the wood spying him out turning him in in the hills of hey Kyla a Kyla meaning dark dark which is only south of G shy moon that's to say the waist you know probably a desolate place 20 now therefore o King come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down and our part shall be to deliver him into the Kings hand looking out for number one little old self 21 in salt said blessed be he of the Lord for ye have compassion on me that poor me baby stuff poor and forth from Saul again feeling he had no friends and everybody loved David so much more than he 20 to go I pray you and prepare yet know and see his place where his haunt is let me know where his Peters standing that's what it says in Hebrew and who have seen him there for it is told me that he'd either very subtly I would think that he probably thought he was dealing subtly but this time his whole army out looking for David now for quite a period of time and no one being successful verse 23 see therefore and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hide a--the himself you spy it out well in other words let your intelligence be top-notch and come you again to me with the certainty I want to know exactly and I will go with you and it shall come to pass if he be in the land that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah I will find him 24 and they arose and went to Ziff before Saul but David and his men were in the wilderness of May on May on meaning habitation are not a waste this time in the plain on the south of G Simon and salt also and his men went to seek him and they told David before he came down into into a rock and abode in the wilderness may on and when Saul heard that he pursued after David in the wilderness of may on never quitting that old demon pressing him on and Saul went on this side of the mountain and David and his men on that side of the mountain God always protecting him you understand God in control and God is the same forever today yesterday and he will be forever he protects his own today and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul for Saul and his men compass David and his men round about to take them they were all around them but they couldn't see them because God protected 27 but there came a messenger unto Saul saying hey Stan come for the Philistines have invaded the land the same group of Philistines that David had attacked back to the beginning of this chapter out of the land Aquila now attacked again Saul will have no choice 28 work for Saul returned from pursuing after David and went against the Philistines therefore they call that place Sheila Kamala qu which is to say the cliff the cliff of escape or some might say she laid the rock of escape or division in other words that mountain kept the armies apart 29 and David went up from fence and dwelt in the strongholds at Inga day indeed I means the fountain of the kid it's very near the Dead Sea if I'm yes very near the Dead Sea there are huge caves there that you could hide an entire army in chapter 24 verse 1 let's go with it and it came to pass when Saul was returned from following the Philistines that it was told him saying behold David is in the wilderness of envy died 2 and then Saul took three thousand chosen honey his very best men out of all Israel and he went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats again the goats and the clip of the kid okay you got it then we continue with three and he came to the Sheep cuts up by the way where was a cave this is the camps and the housing of the sheep where this huge cave was and Saul went in to cover his feet and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave I want you to see this these caves were so huge that David's men were hit along the side and David and some of his men came into the very center of the cave and to warm his feet are to sleep a while that's what it meant walks right into David's hand verse four and the men of David said unto Him behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee behold I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good into thee then David arose and cut off the shirt of Saul's robe privilege this is to say while he slept David went up and just cut part of his shirt off his shirttail now I want you to see this and I want you to see it real good David could have killed him just as easy as not but he chose not to five and it came to pass afterward that David's heart smote him because he had cut off Saul's skirt it's amazing that David still had this love for Saul I want to explain that to you and it's important in your life dear one David knew that it was adenopathy monney spirit that was causing the wickedness in Saul and he did not blame fall for that demonic oppression that was upon him he blamed the devil and he still loved Saul it's real easy in the human form to take a out on your flesh brother rather than the spirit that leads him be careful learn to discern spirits and learn to order Satan and his evil ones out of your life be wiser than the serpent verse six and he said unto his men the Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master understand Saul was still King the Lord's anointed to stretch forth my hand against 10 another you got understand they were egging him on killing killing killing you've got a chance God has delivered him into your hand he's after you he runs this day at night killing seeing he is the anointed of the Lord 7 so David stayed his servants he wouldn't let them bother with his with these words and suffered them not to rise against fall but fall rose up out of the cave and went on his way now you keep up with this this is important there's a very important point about to be made that you must understand verse 8 David also arose afterward and went out of the cave and he cried after salt o saying my lord the king that was all look behind him David stopped with his face to the stooped rather with his face to the ground and bowed himself paying honor to this king but in plain sight 9 and David said to Saul where for hearest thou men's words saying the whole David David seeketh thy hurt so you've been listening to those men of use yours and other people turning me in saying I have an army out to kill you 10 behold this day thine eyes have seen how that the Lord had delivered thee today into my hand in the cave I had you and sunbathed me to kill him but my nice parody and I said I will not put forth my hand against my Lord for he is the Lord's anointed he is the king that God has set over us mercy Devin listen carefully moreover my father see see the skirt of that robe in my hand you see this shirttail I've got here for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe and kill thee not know thou and see that there is neither evil north transgression in my hand and I have not sinned against thee yet thou hunter my soul not body not flesh foe to take it you know why Paul said soul rather because it was the demonics that were in him that wanted the literal internal fold of David 12 the Lord judge between me and thee and the Lord avenge me of thee but my hand shall not be upon thee I wouldn't hurt a hair on your head Psalm 13 as said the proverb of the ancients wickedness proceedeth from the wicked but mine hand shall not be upon thee I am FY I am NOT wicked I love you Saul 14 after whom is the king of Israel come out who are you out here after after him destop pursued after a dead dog after a flee no was after someone that loved him very much there the parable there 15 the Lord therefore be judge and judge between me and thee between Saul and David and see and plead my cause and deliver me out of thine hand David has come forth he's been honest straightforward what will fall do david pretty well new and i'll tell you why in a moment I hope that you picked up on it as I have inserted the main characters that are in this controversy this contest 16 and it came to pass when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul that Saul said is this divorced my son David and Saul lifted up his voice and wept lily was robbed why how could fall no he was wrong when he was demon-possessed my friend it is real sad not how little people know about demonic sin this generation have you never read in the book of mark when he that would come from the loins of this one David drew the woman marry that virgin that would conceive of Almighty God through the spirit and that son would come forth and will the demonics the evil spirits better translated came forth and saw him they would say she says son to Nazarite the son of the Living God knowing he was from the root of Jesse - yes this one David many times would people say have mercy oh thou son of David - Messiah the demons knew him well David had counseled with all my God before he went to this place David did not kill Saul but you see evil spirits cannot come in the presence of Anointed One of God there was no way that that demonic spirit could remain in Saul with David being close enough to cut the Sur tail off David's very presence would have frightened the demons out of the cave in the country Saul was no longer possessed when he awoke and started marching out of that cave he was clean as a whistle as far as oppression or possession was concerned so you see what is it that God would have you learned from this is to use the supernatural power and my thing that you are supernatural don't it don't ever get on one of those trips on me okay but I'm something super special no you are a sinner who you are as this man is a sinner but we can take hold of those supernatural promises and use that power to drive easing negative away from us and love your loved ones and hate Satan drive you into hating he's he's dead man he's dead he's already sentenced to death as well as his evil spirits order them in the power of the supernatural the name that name they run from in the New Testament that that is written order them out and that's why David could boldly say Saul for he knew he was clean getting in Saul was a just man went out from under the influence of evil spirits it is a wonderful study to go into evil spirits there is not one behind every bush and some people become fanatics and all things that they touch they cannot seem to use common sense but I assure you they are in the world today Satan is not in the world today only his evil spirit for every negative there's a positive as the positive is the Holy Spirit that was is with us there are also evil spirits with us in this world they speak they could speak to Jesus they knew him they identified him that was not a sickness or a disease they identified him and he said hold your peace hold your tongue this is time that people know who I am do you think those evil spirits didn't know who David was when he walked in that cave they ran they fled so I think in you today God is the author of peace not confusion he loves his children a great deal and within this example he expects you to see that King that King that men requested over them and as much as they would not have God as 13 and he gives you a close-up view of both these men that would be the first two Kings to reign the last judge is not dead he will be at the beginning of the next chapter Samuel and we change from a theocracy to a monarchy as far as government is concerned in this I want you to note the steadfastness of Samuel who is the judge who was the man of God and I want you to see the mistakes especially that Samuel has made in as much as he has even allowed wicked spirits to enter into him and hey this won't be the end of it he'll be seeking evil spirits before we're through with him after Samuel dies he will go to a to a soothsayer and asked that she bring back through witchcraft Samuel so he can have advice from God but David had the courage and the knowledge to seek God in all things even though he made mistakes I want you to see yourself in that you'll always make mistakes no David wasn't perfect as I told you in the last lecture he was even a murderer before his reign will be over that excluded him from even being the man that was fit to build a temple so it was through his lineage that Messiah would come but I want you to learn discernment that it is of God and that that is not for we're in a generation where you're going to have to choose and if you cannot discern by the Spirit your start and the foundation is found in the epistles of John the first epistle chapter 4 verse 1 through about 10 telling you exactly how to discern spirits that's the gist the foundation there is nothing that Satan likes better and I know that I'm repeating they let the repetition be I want to drive and make the point well that you can destroy your family taking out a bone that spirit of jealousy that ego trip by taking it out on the flesh of the individual without seeing the devil is driving the one and using power and authority well how do I do that and what their pillow while they're gone let them sleep on it with an anointed pillow that demon won't be comfortable for in evil spirit if you like that better for that's more correctly translated love your loved ones don't let's say you stand off in a corner laughing at you as you destroy your family for that's what he's after in the first place especially if you be a family of God's elect that he intends to use in this generation Satan knows who you are he's known for a long time because you fought with him in that time before the cadeau I say that because tender ears listen and I don't care to explain further 17 and he said to David thou art more righteous than I that sound like the same Samuel we had before he wouldn't behave and he was cleanse and no it doesn't we're hearing the real Saul down thou art more righteous than I for thou hast rewarded me good whereas I have rewarded the evil 18 and thou has showed this day how that thou hast dwelt well with me for as much as when the Lord had delivered me into thine hand thou kill us to me not see Saul sing here now remember how he's always questioned his men show your kindness to me that poor baby stuff he's been poor known he knows now that this one with that evil spirit driven from him that this one truly loves him indeed that he could trust him with the very blood of his vein 19 for if a man finds his enemy will he let him go well away in other words if David had found Saul asleep there and considered him an enemy letting go away we're for the Lord reward the good for that bowel has done unto me this day verse 20 listen carefully and now behold I know well that thou shall truly be king and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand now listen to me you remember that Jonathan made a covenant with David saying my father knows well that your king and I'll be second-in-command you got it that was prophecy God maintains his word 21 swear now they're foreign to me by the Lord that thou will not cut off my seed after me and that thou will not destroy my name out of my father's house 22 to complete and David swearing to Saul and Saul went home but David and his men got them up unto the hole that is to say the stronghold well we see in those two chapters and you can understand why I wanted to cover both of them I apologize for taking them with that speed but that was the one point the very presence of a god-fearing and wanted man will drive demonics from that entire area and Saul was salvaged from the madness that was upon him what a gift God gives in his love to his children we are in so very much that he is always in control always leading always guiding and as it is written the Minor Prophets I shall do nothing except I forewarn you through the prophets it's your own fault if you don't study his word you keep your family welded together to do battle in this Christian service but there shall be in this generation all right arts you listen a moment please the Acts of the Apostles the acts that are consist of righteous acts an example set forth to you today you might say if I can use the old colloquial expression how to get your act together and
