there are a few things cooler than gangster films there are a great way to delve into their underworld of criminal organization so I've always come up with some movie accounts of violence racketeering and organized crime now before I start this video there are a couple of things I want to run over I'm not going to be commenting on more than two movies per director and I won't be covering the dog park at Rajee because while they're classics worth viewing the author predictable entry and I'd rather spend the time covering a few thousand known film Scarface - the story of greed and power which leads the corruption where you get to see the darker side of the American dream Al Pacino plays the iconic crime boss Tony Montana who lose nothing to your imagination when it comes to his motivation our critics have criticized this moving 15 over-the-top and loud I'm sure it's cult following would disagree Scarface has what other movies of the time lacked rawness the Latino gangs in this film are far more militant Jenin of the movie well I wouldn't say this is Brian De Palma's strongest work it does however still has its moments excellence and some highly memorable and quotable one-liners in a nutshell the Coen brothers Miller's Crossing is the movie about loyalty and the effect that has on Gabriel Burns's character Don Regan as well as everyone else around him tom is an amoral man who's taken more beatings and a-one I've seen in any movie from women debt collectors and even his own boss out finish Danny Boy scene is one of the most unpredictable and growing actions interstate movie is a great supporting cast combines of a snappy script of pays tribute to the 1930 while some would say that this movie lacks the epic proportions of other better known gangster films I would have to disagree this movie somehow has gone under the radar and I will never understand why it hasn't received more acclaim and recognition Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas said in 1952 eighties it's based on true crime memoirs of the real-life mobster Henry hell very explored the life of gangsters through the eyes of real aleka's character who gets involved in mafia from a young age you the viewer get to witness all kinds of criminal activities from brutality to murder as you see Henry's career in throughout the films well robert de niro gives one of his best performances it's Joe Pesci who wins all your attention as soon as he's on screen he's very hard to ignore Thames Tommy DeVito the intimidating loudmouth ugh it fells is one of those films that needs to be seen to be believed every character voice seventeen all comes together at the right moment to create this near-perfect gangster film experience Sergio Leone's classic Once Upon a Time America is a story of friendship love loyalty and betrayal the movie is taken from the point of view of De Niro's character and David noodles Aronson a man brought up from the mean streets of Brooklyn during the error for a vision when organized crime go down is strongest the film focuses on relationships over the many years of noodles life which unfolds slowly and reflectively De Niro's betrayal is of a gangster with the conscience while this doesn't prevent him from being a ruthless killer his life is clearly filled with remorse regret and guilt officers want the best the gangster genre has to offer I have to warm those of you who haven't seen it yet it's over three and a half hours long and if you're expecting hours of gun fights or cool one-liners then I would not recommend this colitas way Brian De Palma's compelling film follows Al Pacino's character the extra dealer Cully - Vogon take relationally released from prison calico tries a little idiot on his life while dealing with the ever-present temptation of going back to his old habits and lifestyle Pacino delivers an excellent performance trying his best to stay out of the hole gangsta game the Sean Penn is almost unrecognizable as an era wearing cocaine addict lawyer who just seems hell-bent on gank Alito back into big criminal underworld there are a few action sequence compared to other movies of the genre but the dialogue is really solid so much so that makes you just want to learn more and more about each and every character if I ever see you here I'll get you just like that Johnson glazed his directional debut actually beat this one fascinating dark and intense gently moving the film follows Gallo retired down to the safecrackers played by Ray Winstone who was ensuring a life of pleasure in sunny Spain until a man from his past the brutal gangster Don Logan attempts to recruit him for one more job when kingfish betrayal the sociopath Don Logan is unbelievably intense and even funny at time we can't help but feel sorry for Ray winters character as he has this crazy man screaming Evita hood not only is this movie supported by strong cinematography in chilling characters it also has some very black inner I'm very strong providing are you slurring on the claim it actually beat of the film that works on many levels but the real beauty of this movie is in its simplicity quick and Tarantino will not disappoint you with his masterpiece Pulp Fiction if the viewer will be taken on a ride through three different stories they're entwined together around the worlds of the crime boss Marcellus Wallace so efficient is made in such a nonlinear way that you could watch it several times and not be able to remember which scene comes next from Samuel Jackson and John Travolta story of two hit men on the job that goes horribly wrong to Bruce Willis in a boxer in the sixth match which he refuses to throat to say this movie is quotable would be an understatement and every line of dialogue is member at Ames pre [ __ ] good milkshake the slumber of find the gangster action genre while reinvigorating the careers of of John Travolta and Bruce Willis layer cake massive horns directional debut saw the pre Bond Daniel Craig who plays a drug dealer in London who regards himself as a businessman rather than the criminal the plot follows Craig's character who on the eve of his planned early retirement receives the tough assignments from his boss Jimmy bright for her onwards the movie's plot takes off and doesn't slow down until the very end there are great supporting roles from the all-important Kamini who plays Craig's mentor Jean as well as Craig Foss Jimmy and the mysterious assassin dragon for sure dialog and a very original contract this is a gangster movie that requires the use of ink a lot and although the plot is a little convoluted I personally think it take away from the overall entertainment experience the story based upon the true life events of Frank Lucas American Gangster directed by Ridley Scott followed the path of an intellectual gangster who rises to the top of his game but then in turn learn something new by the end what makes this movie different from the others is that there's not so much mob it's mostly just Frank and charged in everyone else trying to get his attention and respect this movie is very well paced it never gets boring even though its runtime exceeds two hours while doesn't have the gritted intensity of other gangster pieces it does one of the best jobs of examining the rise and fall of the drugs off Guy Ritchie highly stylized Lock Stock and Two Smoking grounds focuses on a group of men who invest all their money and loser and evict high stakes card game to a gangster thought hatchet Harry in order to repay Harry the four have to hatch a risky plan in order to pay back this gangster before the week is up what follows next is the hilarious series of botched heist and accidental double crosses apart from the fantastic directing soundtrack and acting or make this movie great it's a fun you have trying to figure out through if anyone will be left standing quietly and credit based on the true story Martin Scorsese's classic casino is about two characters Aten Nicki and their chance to ruled the desert paradise of Las Vegas De Niro place ace Rothstein a casino owner who technically isn't a mod member but a moneymaker along the way he marries a drug addict crash and burn and a struggles with his friendship with his lifelong pal Niki played by Joe Pesci who succeeds it being a complete psychopath will make this movie extra special from the other films of this drama if they gives a fascinating perspective on how the Mafia used to run Las Vegas you get to see the methods they use to control the money flow and the way they mash the dead of random thought
