welcome to the speaking section of iels examination my name is sapna Dam and I would be your examiner for this part of the test and this test would be recorded may I know your full name please my full name is kiranjit cor how may I address you you may address me with my first name Kiran that's great okay Kiran may I know where do you come from I ha from Chana which comes under the district patala and state Punjab that's great okay Kiran are you working or a student well I'm a student I have pursued my senior scander education from Commerce stream and now I'm looking for going abroad that's good okay now few questions will be based on dreams do you often see dreams yes of course I often see dreams like U being a police officer that's okay what was your dream when you were a kid what was your dream to be when you were a kid or when you were in your childhood well I always wanted to be a police officer when in my childhood and uh because I have some good leadership skills and I can tackle all the situation in a very convenient way okay so you always wanted to be a police officer yeah great are you still stick to your particular Dream well I think so no because in my childhood I want to become a police officer when I was in my elementary school I want to be a teacher and now I am planning to go abroad for my higher studies okay so mean it means that you are a wavering mind person yes okay okay now few questions will be based on Friends okay what is the role of friends in your life well friends play a very important role in my life even they are like my family members they always encourage me towards my dreams and they always stand by me in every thick and thin situation okay so Ken do you have many friends or few friends well I have some few friends because I do I am very introvert person so I used to make a few friends that's okay do you often go outside with your friends yes I often go outside with my friends uh like on birthday parties and also we play in a park which is uh near to everyone's house mhm okay may I know what activities do you do with your friends well uh we do many activities together like playing games like watching videos on mobile phone you so much well there are several Technologies which change the world and humans life there are several type of inventions which make people life more convenient today I'm talking about invention which helps people a lot that is none other than a mobile phone cell phone has given plethora of benefits to individuals in many ways moreover it it was invented by John Francis mckl and Martin Cooper in New York iiz the first cell phone is uh invented in 1973 yes it was invented in uh 1973 before this gadget people do not have any best way to communicate with their dear ones but uh after the invention of this device uh now people almost all the people have their own smartphones and they are mostly dependent on it like they used to make payments from their mobile phones and also do communicate with their friends and family members like I also used to make my assignments and other study related work when I was in my high school and also so I use this device for my entertainment purpose like playing games watching videos and also I used to do communicate with my friends through social media it's a not a rocket science to use it's very easy to use like even children can use it without someone's help and uh it's easy for all age groups and so yeah this invention is very useful in daily life okay that's good okay now I'm going to ask some followup questions which will be based on this C okay so Ken how has technology made our life easier like technology has made our life very convenient in many ways like uh mostly uh technology has are in our homes like uh like washing machine like chimney and uh refrigerator these things made our life very e easier can you explain how these things has changed our life very easy like washing machine uh mostly people do not have time uh in their hectic schedule that they do not have time to wash clothes with their hands so washing machine is very good way to wash some more examples like refrigerator uh it it will not uh it will not uh okay okay which invention do you think is most useful at home like all the inventions are very useful in our home like electric uh app appliances like as I earlier mentioned at washing machine and refrigerator and also the electric lights which are very um very useful in our okay can you name any particular invention which you think is most useful at home according to me refrigerator is very useful in our homes like it's uh very useful for our moms because they mostly use it uh like for putting for uh putting the food in the refrigerator storing food for many days yes okay fine is it more difficult for old people to accept new technologies yes of course because uh they their concentration power and recalling power is uh decreasing because uh because of the old age so yes of course it's difficult for them okay what can be done to help old people learn to make use of new technologies well a young people can help them to learn and yeah of course it's not a cup of cake for you know cup of cake for uh learning it's not a cup of cake for them but uh young people can help them for uh learning the things and government also can help them by uh teaching them uh like uh different type of classes can provide them okay that's good okay thank you so much Kiran this is the end of the test thank you hey guys this is time to give the feedback for kiran's interview here I'm disclosing why I'm giving her 6.5 band not 7 band although she had done good in part one and in part two but I was quite dissatisfied with her follow-up answer on my personal experience I find the same problem in those students who are taking online sessions online interview classes from me so when I listen to them they also do the same mistake so this is a common problem what students do what candidates do when they appear in their is examination they slip to 5.5 band sometime or one band even they do well in their IELTS exam but sometime there's some rare errors when they come to the followup part and the same AK here Kiran did and majority of candidates do in their speaking interview so what the mistakes are there I would like to give a glance over here most of the time students say Yeah in the speaking while answering they always say in between yeah so this is very informal you cannot say yeah instead you have to say yes of course indeed but yah will not be acceptable so this may be a reason of scoring this may be a reason of deducting your scope moreover uh while speaking that she was using expression like a lot like every time students when I listen to them then students also do the same mistake they use unnecessarily like like like so if you are using the this sign post like so I advise you avoid repetion of this sign post instead you can use some other sign post uh I would like to mention that further more or in addition to it I would like to emphasize Zone what can I say more here I'm glad to talk about this so there are many other sign post which you can pick except like only once or twice it's okay if you're using like expression or like sign posst but not always and thirdly I found that while answering me she was saying you know and she said multiple times in her followup part you know so you cannot say to your examiner this you know this is not advis advisable so and otherwise in rest I didn't uh like her opinion part because she had not strong idea for justifying her answer in the followup part so if you guys are having strong opinion which I always tell you that you must have a strong opinion then you will be able to get good score so if you're are preparing for Els and you're doing the same mistakes and want to get good score I mean that you want to avoid you want to save your five or one band score you want to get more more than that so just working over it thank you so much
