[Music] [Music] [Music] ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the trek mania world championship where we are now going into the grand final after two incredible semi-final matches oh just like four incredible weeks of track mania right we started with the open qualifiers all the way back at the start of june and then we moved into the group stages now we're here for the finals and it has been intense after intense after intense right we could go camping with how intense this has all been and now we are the final down to the final four players the best four players in the world three former world champions among them and one guy who's in his first ever world cup yeah althea has been such a positive surprise i mean we talk a lot about how the best players in japan will always be the best there's not a lot of variants and if you are a carl jr it's hard to ever get close to that but we're seeing this new generation of players we're seeing players like affy and glenn and avalon and these youngsters like banks they're all rising up but alfie has already gotten there at the age of 22 he's in the grand final now versus the greats and it's going to be very interesting to see how he will perform and also what others expectations are so we are going to jump into four quick interviews with all the players just talking about their expectations and what they are looking forward to starting here with carl jr takes a deep breath carl jr how are you feeling now after resting up a little bit after your semi-final uh nervous man nervous is the word but i'm always a nervous player so i'll try my best and yeah i can't wait till it starts i think it's uh g sorry do you the word but i'm always a nervous player so i'll try my best damn hearing his own voice isn't that good so i apologize carl but our feed with you is slightly delayed here so i started talking and then you immediately started talking back to me um do you do you think that having a break is a good thing for you at all i don't know well i i don't think it is because it's not the the same maps that will play but uh like i don't think it will make much difference in the end on how i play okay we uh we really wish you the best of luck call we're not gonna keep you here too long but hope you have a great match and i will see you on the flip side of it good luck yo thanks blaze now we are going to hear from offy the new player in the field the new player on the block going up against the three world championships previous world champions previously sorry uh how are you doing offi going into this match yeah i'm i'm doing so well like i have no pressure anymore i'm just going in the match like i have nothing to lose as you said i'm against three world champions uh i'm not sure what i'm doing there but i think that i did my spot so i'm just gonna go all in and see what happens i it's important that you recognize you've earned your spot as well right like you you raced incredibly well in the first semi-final incredibly well in the group stage and you've claimed a spot amongst those four champions of the world do you although you don't have any expectations of the final could you ever see yourself challenging these guys in their in the next few rounds of racing well i mean i could challenge carl jr in the semi-final so why not yeah yeah oh i like that attitude good attitude good luck alfie in the match we'll see you on the tracks and also perhaps later in the interview best of luck in the match and now i think we'll quickly talk to pack hello pak can you hear us how are you feeling now after a very intense match have you had time to calm down and prepare for this i mean there's not been much time between the two i've i had a little practice on one of the tracks that uh was a permanent band from masses so i had a quick go at that but otherwise there's not really been much of an attempt to uh to get ready for this one but i've had the last match to get ready so hopefully that's enough do you think having a match so recently will actually benefit you when it comes to racing again here instead of having a longer break uh it sometimes helps i think in the last uh world cup in 2018 i came straight from the consolidation final so i was sort of ready then but we'll see i'm hoping i feel ready in this is all down to this one last match to see who's the new champion best of luck in the match pack good luck there's not really much more to say we hope you have a great time on the tracks out there thank you man and yeah i think uh we are we haven't interviewed kappa yet assuming that we have kappa on the line yeah we have uh so uh kappa we already just talked to you we're gonna talk to you real quick again but can i ask the same question to you how do you feel going so quickly in between two matches like this do you have time to calm down or is it still are you still like pumped up from it and is it an advantage i'm still in the zone to be honest because the last round of my semi-final was quite intense so i'm looking forward to start as quickly as possible to stay in the zone and hopefully get this done as as quickly as possible as well so you're saying you don't want us to ask you a lot more interview questions and then maybe you have a long-form discussion on your thoughts of trackmania and do you like plastic what do you think of the summer campaign are these questions that we should be asking you right now i always like talking to you medic you know that but uh probably we can speak more about that after the grand final right yeah let's get to some racing good luck capper thank you good luck to all of them they are going to need it but this is going to come down mostly i think to raw skill there is not really a lot of luck in track mania and especially not on the maps that have been picked as well being the uh well we do have them actually coming through so should we perhaps take a look at them well we will take a look at them as soon as we can take a look at them virtual for the moment i think we are just making sure that everything is set up behind the scenes i believe i know that we are starting off on paradise to kick things up but for now we do not know the rest of the maps perhaps we'll find them out soon yeah so the starting map is indeed paradise and if you if you think about who could possibly pick paradise in a situation like this uh it is actually alfie so uh alfie with the offi line on paradise picking his map and it is one that he showed that he can execute this trick it saves 0.2 of a second carl jr was following close and i mean they can really make that work yeah i think it's going to be really interesting to see how good a start alfie is able to get because if he can get head neck and neck with carl or with pack or with uh kappa whoever's leading early on it really gives him some confidence for the rest of it you heard from him like he has done all that he expected to do and he's happy with what he's achieved but he can challenge these guys we'll see if he's able to do it through paradise after that we move on to circles which has been picked by kappa i love it i love it i absolutely love it i've said it all through season i love circles it's so cool that we see it in the finals no ban no nasa so we do get to see circles and i think that was the map he was alluding to when he said i needed to jump in and practice a map quickly because masa had been banning it the whole time yeah so i think he was expecting that band to come through but now has to prepare for it perhaps you ain't ready for it and then we're going on to pax map choice after that sammy rami's being pack's choice yeah we saw how good he was on the identity there his landing's so consistent he did have that one mistake but he is very good at getting there with a lead and then being able to navigate the identity really well yeah and i think you know picking that map and feeling so fresh on it is really good that he uh picks it again you know i think it worked for him and then we have the final map which was picked by carl jr and that is turbo stairs yeah one of the newer maps or one of the two new maps as you say but we've we've seen people still struggle a little bit with like identity you know we saw pax struggle with it we saw kappa struggle with it a little bit in their semi-finals so the question is whether people can get that neo slide correct because the expectation is everyone will be quite pretty close when we get towards it and then the final two maps in the map pack the random two are bicycle and slalom so to summarize paradise circles semiramis turbo stairs bicycle and then slalom we're getting into this in very very short fashion it is just under a minute we might actually go on to paradise the first map in the trek mania world cup grand final 2021 welcome ladies and gentlemen to what is going to be an amazing match between four amazingly skilled players five world championships are in this final and there is one more to give out only affy has not been to a world final before cuppa won reigning world champion pack one in 2016 carl jr the greatest player of all time with three titles to his name looking to add a fourth first title in five years for him paradise a tricky map to start us off with we talk about that freewheeling section near the identity so vital for these guys but let's not forget this first corner the offi trick that we keep talking about it happens here in the first three seconds of driving he tries to avoid the side of the car there and he has gotten it he got more speed than the other players out of that and now he has a bit of a lead to work with we know that he doesn't have the fastest title on paper he gets usually caught up to but he has this buffer now that he can work with he can afford to make a small mistake a small incorrect line and still be on par with the other drivers so executing that trick very important to get that good for offi here yeah you can see he's already a tenth ahead of kappa and pack who are leading ahead of kyle jr now carl jr something he often does is materialize time out of nowhere you see him like two tenths behind in the middle portion of the map and then suddenly he manages to catch it up here you can see he's still about two tenths behind the three in the lead we work our way through the freewheel section you want to contain 200 speed and everyone gets through kappa losing a little bit of it and you can see pack out to a bit of an advantage here over alfie and over carl jr but carl jr has found that time has found that space out of nowhere pack three tenths ahead of everyone else carl jr in second fighting with our feet for that second place let's see who takes the tighter line here both alfie and kappa going very narrow but carl jr able to slide it across in second pack first carl jr second cap a third and offy comes home in fourth and the devil is in the details you talked about this where does carl jr find the time there a slightly better end approach gets him two more points than kappa in that round here we go again watch offi here in this very first corner tries to go wide and not side the car this time he pays the price of what is considered a risky trick pack is while crashing it and it's a one versus one already off the box here because it's going to be very hard to make up that difference when they might not have the speed for the shortcut jump yeah that second jump can be very difficult carl jr and kappa obviously threw it cleanly and the race between them will be for that 10 points but six points is still a good consolation prize as long as these guys can get through the rest of the map safely pack and affi fallen behind you can see affy actually looks like he failed that second shortcut jump is sitting five seconds behind everyone so just coming home in this track will be a good win for him right now kappa and carl jr fighting for that first place the tenth between the two carl jr going slightly wide on the initial drift there we've seen calpers clip that corner a couple of times but both of them have about the same speed and carl junior with a slight shake of the head there not too happy with how this starts on paradise is going for him couple will set up wider as he looks to gain more speed on the downhill here and we'll be able to keep that lead ahead of carl jr now the line that you talked about carl jr looks to hit that apex of the corner just a bit quicker but kappa will still take home first card junior at second pack third and affi it's important to bring these home he slides out seven seconds left can he do it three points on the card for him into that final slide and once again unable to hold the grip happy will come home with nothing in this second round oh unfortunate start there for offi three points and then not being able to finish on the second round on his map choice where we know he has this line but as we know going up against these three players he says that he has really nothing to lose now but he's got to be feeling the pressure he's playing against the greatest track mania players in modern times and really trying to put him to a fight but so far has been able to do that this round though he got his strategy he got the jump he's in first place and he could have a say in this round carl jr sneaking up behind him with a better dirt wiggle there gaining more speed than off the end they're going to take about the same line here look at how similar the approaches to the corners is this is the best way to play the track they've figured this out through meticulous practice over the past few weeks and carl jr has gotten up into a lead right now once again the three-time world champion pushing here and he gets really good speed out of that one don't think he shaked his head at that approach still keeps the lead but all four players are in contention for the win as we now go towards the ardency you can see alfie trying to take a tighter line through that drift there but everyone basically on this ice wall at the same time copper with superb speed just overtakes everyone but then the checkpoint rears its ugly head carl jr will be able to bring it home in first half affy does not slide out gets second pack third and kappa after hitting into the checkpoint will be very slow to bring this one home does come home in fourth though so that's three points on the board for him but that really does even out the score line now now that players have had you know their mistake rounds they've had their crashes they're all going to be pretty even considering the points on this map carl jr with two first places is looking very solid 22 points and he will be able to uh hold that lead for now but uh we're going into the last round let's take a look at the shortcut jump a lot could happen in the opening area here where they're going to do the first jump try to land not so angled carl jr losing a little bit of speed but he will barely make the jump down in fourth place there and with a bit of a comeback mission to make if he wants to win another one yeah it's about two tenths down right now but we've seen how quickly he can make up that speed you can already see he's overtaking kappa and pack through that dirt section after though still in the lead about a tenth ahead of everyone else as we get on towards the second dirt portion of the map left to right minimize the air time i'll be doing a very good job of it there as we work our way up into the three-wheeling now the entry to this is so important you want to make sure you keep as much speed as possible while still maintaining the angle and after you through it nice and clean this time the only one that hasn't won yet on paradise in this finals is uffi and he is out to a slight lead about a tenth ahead of kappa pack two tents behind carl jr the same after he maintains his line here to the next corner and one's out capper trying to chase him down but up he just has to hold on to it to get his first first place of the finals afi will take first pack second cap a third and carl jr slowly will come home in fourth just waiting for that confirmation there he is does end up getting the three points and it's interesting what you mentioned here medic every player won one round each on the map they all traded blows on paradise and we will have a pretty even score line as we go towards the second map in the grand finals it is circles here coming up next picked by copper and as we said earlier we think this is the map that pax said he needed just to put a bit of extra practice into because usually masa has been banning this out a very technical track but the expectation is everyone will be within touching distance of each other when we get towards that identity lots of these guys know the exact line they want to take everyone will be taking similar lines and it means that you don't really have these huge areas where you can gain a lead yeah it's a lot about speed management this track beautifully highlights like how important it is to focus on the tiny details of the game it's not just about driving your car it's not just about doing turns but it's about your setup into the corners and it's about how much speed you can push out of every single turn and we are going to see that here we know afi to be very very excellent at the start of the track usually just in the first few seconds he will gain a little bit he has done that in his previous match we'll see how he holds up versus now the three best players in the world in track mania here we go with the first round of circles once again into the breach for all these guys as you say alfie does tend to have a really good start through here just seems to gain extra speed but pack is actually out to a slight lead as we work our way onto the grass into this drifting section there's more technical section of the map here you want to hang it out wide and then you want to close drift here tight to this corner so you can get a good angle for the wall ride that comes up next through this ice wall you don't want to steer take it high and wide get as much speed as you can because for the next 15 seconds or so that speed will only pay off dividends yeah on to the turnover now important here to try to slide the car very gently on the grass to build up a little bit more speed we're going to see some differences here offi and carl jr with great speed going through that low wall right line into the last drift here you want to make sure that you go really wide for the speed across the grass often missing the line and falling wide the other three are all tied up here in the battle for the first place as we go into the identity the important part here is to jump low on both quarter pipes you want to go high on this next one and try to build up speed for the ending carl jr going very high for the speed pack with the lead temporarily but can carl jr make up this lead with the speed that he has he's getting closer carl junior on the finish line takes it by less than a thousandth of a sec less than five thousand per second with a one eleven sixty two what a round minute yeah less than two hundredths between first and third day you talked about it the high line from carl jr gave him more speed over that freewheeling section he was able to take it and they were within 200 or two tenths of the world record there with an 11.622 as well so quick from these guys you can see the intensity and the level that they are all playing at virtual yeah and imagine just you know it's 200th of a second between getting 10 and four points that's the level they're playing at that circles for you and that's why this map is so enjoyable to watch at this level it's really about those tiny details that make up or break your run and here we go into the next round kappa now with an early lead but we know the ice term to be so important nothing is over until this turn is done how much speed can you build out of this turn and carl jr is getting a little bit closer packed has fallen off the field he will not be in the attention for the first place for now but kappa has to leave for now carl jr chasing though when he gets a little bit more speed on the grass carl jr will put himself in prime position for another 10 pointer yeah carl jr needs to get through the identity cleanly here once again as you say he has about a 10th lead but kappa has a good line here and actually more speed through the grass section after on top of them as well as all three of these guys get into the identity at the same time pack basically out of this one but we'll watch from his viewpoint as athe kappa and carl jr fight for that first spot let's see who takes that higher line carl jr looking for the extra speed and once again perhaps he's going to be able to catch back this lead over the last couple of corners he's over taking off he only cap uh soy onion left in the way and carl jr does it again affy comes second kappa third carl jr first and pac brings it home in fourth and it is that one hundredth that carl jr is able to find in every single spot that little bit of speed that we don't know where it comes from but carl jr he makes it work another win he's looking for his fourth world championship title to truly solidify his dominance and his status in the game as the greatest of all time yeah first one in five years for him as well if he can claim it now was so close at the last couple of times of asking in 2016 and 2018 but not quite able to bring it over the line here he fights against those that defeated him pack and kappa stood before him last time and here they try and do it once again but carl jr has won two laps in a row and has extended his lead to 14 points in this final 140 is the cut off for finalists and carl jr doesn't seem to be stopping unrelenting at the moment as he goes through towards the turnover pretty close with pack right now kappa taking a little bit of an interesting line there jumping over the inter interior scaffolding but takes it too low on the wall ride and he is out carl jr still in the lead about a tenth ahead of pack almost two now as uf he tries to chase them down as well packed with a good line through the grass but the speed is about equal as we get towards this first half pipe carl jr in a good position to once again take a first place here on circles he's been consistently hitting those 111 point x's and once again it seems like that's what he's going to do pack does not have enough speed to catch up with carl jr who will come across the line in a 111.497 oh that is incredible that is a fifth place time in the world but more importantly 1200 of a second behind the world record twelve hundredths of a second behind the world record in a grand final carl jr is playing a peak performance right now and this is kappa's map you have to remember as well cap has gone second third fourth across the last few rounds so it is just carl jr showing how good he can be on these maps that are slightly more technically minded perhaps slightly less identity favored and he's doing such a good job here virtual 55 points now 18 ahead of anyone chasing it yeah carl jr is on a tear and when you have this momentum when you are in the song like couple talked about you have this intensity this competitive drive it's just easy to carry it into the next round into the next round and build on that and it's up to the other players to try to break it they have to try to win a round against carl now or he will run away with this match but off he has crashed pack has crashed it is only a couple left and he is ten hundreds behind but we know carl jr does this full speed part so well and this is going to snowball into a demanding lead carl jr could clean sweep circles here yeah two tents ahead right now looking for 40 out of 40. he clean swept the group stage winning every single round six in a row now he's made it seven taking his semi-final he's looking to make it eight and claim his fourth world title carl jr with a great line there through the half pipes kappa not getting the best of lions and carl jr just has to bring it home safe and easy for four first place in a row appian fourth carl jr knows how good that was a one eleven point five five as well kappa comes home in second pack third and after fourth but no one can catch the canadian right now that is absolutely mesmerizing to watch carl jr so good at what he does and he does show up when it matters most 65 points right now the manning lead in the match as we go on to the third map this is pack's choice semiramis being the third map in the grand final here we see the most intense map i'd argue in the map pack it's constant action you don't really have time to breathe time to mentally reset you have to do a string of inputs from the start to the finish that is all one motion every turn sets you up for the next turn and the identity jumps in the ending we saw them could be so decisive in pax match we was barely able to close this one out and important importantly as well today we have seen the second semi-final play on semiramis whereas the first did not so perhaps a little bit more practice just in the immediate moment for the second semi-finalist that is pack and cap up however carl jr continues to impress and continues to show us just how good he is we are in the first warm-up here virtual why don't you highlight some of those key moments key things we'll be looking at through this track so we don't get to see the key moment in the warm-up that is the turd coming right after that a bit of a cliffhanger in the warm-up there but what's very important on semiramis is honestly to not crash there are so many technically difficult corners here it's a lot about getting a run that survives through the world record is a 1 10.13 but we know that all these players are capable of driving very fast tanks around that even in rounds here on the grass you want to do a small wiggle to increase your speed as you go up the hill and then here we're coming to the most important corner in my opinion you cannot hesitate you have to just send your car through two inputs first a full drift to the left and then a full turn to the right to make it through here with full speed a couple almost going into the wall but he does that successfully as the others do it too hack and carl jr now in a battle for that first place on the first round of semi ramming yeah he's already out of this one packing carl jr as you say fighting for that first spot two hundredths between the two of them as carl jr tries to chase down the man from the uk and through the identity pack was very clean in that second semi-final made one mistake in round three here carl jr is about a tenth behind him in total and pack manages to get through the first two jumps looking for the third just make sure you don't go too wide pack almost clips he's able to hold together on it carl jr chasing him down but won't have the speed to catch him up on the final straight pack takes first carl jr second that's a 110.3 that's two tenths away from the world record virtual oh my god pack answers back here on his own map choice he is not gonna have a carl jr sweep through his grand final his chance at reclaiming the world title that he held in 2016. pack is following close here 10 more points for him only 20 now behind carl jr and a great start to the first round of semiramis can he keep this momentum on his own map choice here to bring himself back into the contention for the win that's the big question isn't it it's all a momentum based you were talking about it with carl going four wins in a row one circles here if pat can get in the zone if you can get in the groove and really start just eating out those extra hundreds those extra tents he can start putting carl under a lot of pressure and currently sitting 20 points behind but every time you win you cut that by four and you're just catching up and catching up and then hoping carl jr makes a mistake through this drift we see pack once again in the lead rafi there touches on towards the right side and then he is out of it kappa has already fallen behind as well but he is going to catch up just a little bit pack and carl jr still haven't made a mistake we'll work our way up over this dirt section and then into the left-handed drift before the identity pack once again in the lead last time he was in this position about the same lead as well two tenths ahead he was able to hold on to it and take it through these final three jumps here carl jr is trying to chase him down the pack makes the first jump relatively clean carl jr does the same second jump clean from both of them as is the third as expected some people of this caliber pack will just about hold on to this one the bounce may be unfavorable manages to hold it together pack takes first second for carl jr third for kappa but pack is just on a tear again 110.4 is a time you you won't really see in any rounds i think it's the second fastest time ever and the fastest time ever was just driven in the round previous so pac picks this map for a good reason and he makes it work that's as you said another four points cut off of carl jr's lead in the match and pack is getting closer with this but how far can he stretch his momentum can he go for another clean sweep himself i mean that's the hope for him right everyone has actually ended up in the same position in those first two rounds pack first carl junior second third was captain fourth was affy so you'd have to see something really change if those are going to change across the course of semiramis round three we're in afi in the pack right now everyone basically on top of each other virtual yeah and now we will soon see i think a bit of a fallout they are all going to push this turn off he fell victim to it last time will they survive kappa with an incredible line using all the space he was the world champion in attack in drifting in 2018 he shows his prowess on that style here kappa could fight back in the match if he gets a 10 pointer here he has a demanding lead now against packing carl jr towards get empty all he needs to do is to land these jumps but pack couple goes too wide and pack will overtake first place for now carl jr versus pack pack is on the road to another 10 pointer but this time carl jr is closer than ever he is within striking distance a good ending here we'll do it carl landing earlier trying to build more speed onto the grass but will it be enough for carl he's trying but it isn't pac will take another 10 pack will get closer it's a 1 10 6 but he holds he holds strong and he is putting crawl under pressure here and you see just how important it is to be so consistent kappa there was the best of the three races until he just goes a couple of millimeters wide his tire drifts off the corner and he loses all of that speed and has to reset to the last checkpoint now only 12 points between first and second carl jr once again in the lead but pack is chasing him down could cut that down to eight with another win here copper sitting at 51. our be at 45 both of them will have a long road to go if they're going to chase down either of these two leaders and we talked so much about this battle coming into the tournament pack versus carl jr is carl jr just going to win or is pack going to put him up for a fight these two players have been constantly battling through the regular season of grand league where they've shown in six lap formats being incredibly close on pace and then they battled in the playoffs of the trekking ground league where carl jr won that 1-1 matchup in a two-lap format now we're on one lap well let's see who wins here pack again in the lead on the final round of semiramis trying to make it 44-40 and matching carl junior's performance and what pack really wants is alfie and kappa to be able to challenge carl jr for that second place as well pack has shown he's consistent here on the set on semirami's being able to get first but if alfie can steal away a second from carl jr here or perhaps even look to challenge the first that's what i think he's looking for a great line from him on that second jump carl jr i think went a little bit wide on the second and althea actually has good speed here but packed with a better line through the glass we'll take first there's the stolen position we were talking about virtual afterwards second carl jr comes home in third and that means that six points now cut off carl junior's league it really seems to be a battle between them off you there as you said he takes two points and now it's only six points between them it was 20. pack has made a great comeback into this match and we will see if he can keep that momentum going on to carl junior's natural his turbo stairs and what a map it is to choose actually not the best map for pack overall he has struggled on this in the past but we've seen him be pretty good on it today the question is will people be able to slide that identity cleanly it's not about how quickly you can do it about whether or not you can avoid hitting the wall yeah the thing is we saw pack drive an incredible 107.9 here in the match in the semis but he also crashed in two rounds so how does that consistency work out how often can you be able to execute that line and get the points to go closer and closer to finalists they play to reach 140 points that is where you need to get and then you need to win one more round to secure your spot and take first place and the world championship title and what an achievement it would be for any of these guys i know like carl jr has three of them already but as you've said earlier virtual lots of people look at this as the biggest one so this is the the biggest world cup as of yet hopefully we'll see more in the future but right now this is the creme de la creme the top of the crop and we'll see if carl jr can claim his fourth title here off to an early start after has a bit of a lead as we worked our way towards the grass section through it though kappa still ahead about two a tenth between all of these races as we work our way into the dirt as you said before want to take a high line here gain as much speed as you can then down onto the road once again this dirt you can no slide but we haven't really seen anyone do that since mudder did it in the group stages everyone's sliding here and we'll get up towards the identity pretty soon a lot of this is technical stuff but stuff you'd expect from this sort of caliber of player you know good lines on dirt good lines through the road and then the stairs is really where this map becomes a difficult tree yeah and look at this race we have already in the first round all four players here within point 15 which is nothing on this identity it could swing either way here just about getting up the staircase as quick as you can with an inside drift pack chasing but he fails the ending and it will be cut by here with ten points crawl junior getting six and it looks like pack is able to get that third to stay within range of carl jr and not lose two significant ground but what a time by kappa 107.94 to kick things off here absolutely absurd time there from kappa and such a big win for him as well gets himself up to 64 points starts to catch up with carl jr and pack remember we play for all four positions here the prize pool increases as you go up and getting third is a big win over getting fourth so kappa there even if he's maybe not challenging pack and carl jr is making a statement for himself once again we go on to turbo stairs here though and we will work our way through these corners so far this final has been mostly about pack and carl jr about who can strike we've seen them boxing with each other carl jr getting 40 out of 40 points on circles pack punching back with a superb performance on semirami's here though perhaps it's kappa's time to land an uppercut perhaps kappa can fight back now he got a win he broke through the mold of having these draining rounds in third and fourth and show that you know what i can beat these guys i can't beat them i just need a good run and right now he's fighting for it once again this time it is pack leading the race as we go towards the staircase but which player will get this the best it is so precise you just want to go as early as possible but not too early or you clip the inside and you lose significant speed pack almost failing but he has to lead towards the last step but he goes wide for the speed here can couple excitement with an inside line he tried it but it will not be enough what a race that is so pac taking a win and carl jr and third is very important for pack it really is it just gives pax so many more points in terms of totals i think actually he may even be approaching overtaking here two points between the two of them carl jr at 97 pack at 95 both of them about four wins and a finish away from finalists kappa catching up as well now sitting at 70 affy not having the best time of his life but still a huge achievement for him to make it the pack is already out he crashed the opening round here and now he's going to have to sit back and watch this is a free round for carl jr to try to break away with this lead again in the race yeah and pack will be praying to kappa and to alfie and be like hey guys please please please first and second get carl jr down to the fourth it means there's only one point that changes hands between the two of us right now alfie is on top of carl jr as they look to push towards this next checkpoint couple with a lead of about a tenth and a half as we work our way over the left-hander towards the next section but carl jr so good such a powerful line there you can see him just catching kappa wheeling him back in we'll work towards the identity here and see how these neo slides go so far haven't had the cleanest in the world yeah blistering pace in the lead here from kapahi is actually driving close to the world record pace on the splits but the staircase will decide he clips the first one carl jr crashing and actually losing pace here this is what pack was hoping for but kappa look at this time it's going to be very fast he failed to last up a little bit but we might just have oh it's a 108.2 fail the last one a little bit ten more points for him though and he's feeling the momentum now he's really fighting back into the match really is first second first so far here on turbo stairs getting himself back up in contention with carl jr and pack and importantly for pack as we said only one point extended lead there for carl jr now over 101 though carl jr three four wins away from getting two finalists yeah but pack now he needs to be very careful in the opening here to not push for too much you know it's a few hundreds you loosen that turn by going a little bit wider but you stay in contention for the win and he's making a good move here actually driving first place while having avoided that early mistake he had on the last round so let's see how he can extend this now can he hold on to this because kappa and carl junior are chasing very close behind and i fear that it will be this close all the way until the item i mean that's the expectation right we said it it's very similar to circles in the fact that the lines are pretty figured out and these guys will run them to their absolute limit kappa pack and carl jr all on top of each other huffy catching up as well carl jr lost a little bit of space there going through the dirt section he's about four tenths behind a pack who's in first place this could be a huge win for pack would actually catapult him into first place in the overall scoring if he comes first and carl comes thir fourth heck oh hits just a little bit there on the wall very tight line for pack that's not gonna work at all pack loses a huge amount of speed kappa jumps out at the end and carl jr from fourth to first in a single identity how does he do it carl jr looked out of the fight there but he somehow maneuvers the entire field to take 10 more points and it's actually the opposite of what we thought it would be carl jr propels himself forward far ahead of pack now nine points yeah nine points is huge after it was only two points uh two rounds ago that is a massive gain for carl jr and actually puts him in a striking distance of finalist mode here on bicycles and bicycle is one of carl jr's best maps he did almost win this in the regular season i don't think he won but he has shown times of 109.8 109.7 and in his semi-final he did really comfortably well here yeah he really did uh just having a quick look back at what he ended up first fourth first first yeah in his semi-finals he had a very strong performance his identity the end of course very powerful on this map as well you can gain a lot of speed but usually if you're more than two tenths ahead you are pretty solid through that identity 19 seconds before the drop 19 seconds to take a breath take a breather perhaps grab yourself a glass of water because carl jr is marching his way once again to another world cup but it's not going to come easy here he is going up against kappa who has the current public world record with a 109 59 and pack has a 109 69 as his personal best carl jr on paper the fastest time we know that he set is a 109.70 but rumor has it that carl jr has a lot of these world records offline off leaderboards we don't know we will see now in the first round how they hold up and how they can do this consistently this map is a lot about building pace it's not so hard to survive the turns but they are going to push everything in every corner to try to get ahead of their opponents before the identity and here it's very important to go through the trees set up wide for this drift and push for speed through the track but just using all the space you can building up towards this dirt part coming up you want to set up far to the right drift to the left and go very close on the inside corner pack and kappa off to an early lead and carl jr is a little bit behind gets a great exit to the dirt there though maneuvering the field and now coming up into the second half we have the three jumps yeah over the tree jump here making sure you avoid that tree getting close is important you can gain some extra speed through that checkpoint you see that's exactly what carl has done caught up with pack caught up with kappa now what is the gap here a tenth between carl and pack as we work our way towards the identity and that is very gainable pack does have a slightly better first identity there and it's going to get a bit more of a lead against carl jr both of them going deep kappa going out i believe their pack will claim first call junior second kappa should try and bring this home in third at 109.85 there from puck only three cents away from the world record kappa will come home in fourth and athei third and alfie will bring it home in fourth and a moment there with the player camps we saw carl jr after that run he sort of sat right back up in his chair and said okay i see how it is 109.85 to kick things off i have to be hunched over gamer precision for this one to fight that time second round coming up we see the points are now closing in once again five points between pack and carl jr who you have to imagine are the two biggest contenders now for that title it's going to be hard for offian kappa to fight back and we are looking towards pack and carl to see who wins it now between the uk and canada both of them are being world champions before carl jr has had the pleasure a couple more times than pack but they are both fighting neck and neck tooth and nail for this world cup who will be our 2021 track mania world cup champion that's the question we've got to ask ourselves is pack once again has a lead here over kappa over carl over uffi through the dirt section using all that road to get as much speed as you can pack avoids the trees so does kappa carl two tenths behind them that's probably going to be too much coming into this identity virtual car we'll take a lower line here to try and gain just a little bit of space but can't get it pack has a one-tenth lead over kappa two and a half over carl and pack once again takes a good first identity kappa it's gonna catch just a little bit it's gonna be about eight hundredths as we work our way towards that final corner carl may even claim second in that doesn't have the speed pack gets first that's a 109.8 kappa second kyle third and off e4 and deep breath by being taken there by pack he knows what's at stake but with that run pack has overtaken the lead of the match now only 18 points away from reaching 140 and reaching finalist mode and he is in the driving seat right now first place four pack just one point ahead of carl jr though and they both know just how close is gonna be all the way to the finish line it's the first time we've seen pack in the lead in this race it's the first time we've seen carl jr out of the lead in this race he has been so dominant has won his last seven rounds in a row in first position to make it here to the finals and now pack is challenging him pack is pushing him but right now pack is in third two tenths behind capo and carl jr who take the one two affy a little bit behind them as well but pack with a good line through the dirt we'll make up some time here across the ice we go and now you want to use all of this road get as much speed as you can to get over this dirt jump back straight into the tree and that will cost him dearly at most this is a fourth place carl jr may be even taking first and getting himself within a win of the world cup yeah carl jr now in prime position to get this lead right back and in a big fashion cupboard challenging but i don't think it's going to be enough he will have more speed but crawl junior 10 points here in the third round of bicycle will put him at 131 now and pack will try to roll him he should have enough time to get these three points make it a 125 15 points away from reaching the points on it yeah 15 points is just so much trickier than nine points though right that's the thing for uh carl jr is if you if he wins one round he is a finalist importantly though a couple of second places will do it for him as well and perhaps we will see double finalists last round here on bicycle virtual pack and carl jr continue to fight for that first place and we saw in the second semi-final when it matters most when these intense rounds come up these players don't fall under pressure they drive even faster and it looks to be around just like that here in the opening stages of bicycle pack trying to reclaim the lead here with a wide rift barely makes it past that block to stay onto the track here they are really pushing for the pixels in every single corner carl jr going in early on the dirt and he actually does a better line than everyone else he has to leave now by point one of a second pack pushing with a gray line at the exit of the ice to overtake the lead this time on the tree jump he will avoid it but a bit of an awkward landing makes it a dead even raised into the identity this 10-pointer will be very important who's going to take it is packet of tonight carl would call be the first finalist in this race it's a battle between all four players these turnarounds are so important now who gets the most speed out of it looks to be kappa on the tail on the field to make it very close all four players are going for a carl junior in the lead and it will be called to go into finalist mode with that win but what a race from all four and very importantly pack gets fourth yes so close less than a tenth between them all but pat getting fourth means that he will not be able to get finalists in the next round it gives carl jr a little bit more space a little bit more freedom as we move on to slalom the final map of the rotation here and carl jr a single race a single minute and a half away from perhaps his fourth world cup but let's not forget that this map is one where kappa has the world record pack has won this three times in the regular season back to back to back and afiya has shown great pace here as well so he is not going to get this easily by any means he's going to have to work for it he's going to have to drive close to the world record like we saw with the 104.5 104.4 the world record is a 104 23 by kappa as we have 20 seconds to catch our breaths before we get into potentially the final nap here before we have our next trackmania world champion take a moment take a breath take a breather because this is going to be it this could be everything for carl jr his first victory in five years 2016 feels like a life 2015 so it feels like a lifetime ago it has been a long time for the canadian king now on to slalom a minute between us and perhaps crowning a new world champion kappa fighting to defend his crown pack fighting to defend against carl jr and everyone within a hair's breadth of each other as we work our way into the first war ride the start of this map always very close before we get up towards the slaloms basically you can breathe and you could hit all four players affy does have a slight lead here pack trying to chase him down as well and carl jr gets a good jump into the dirt section and now it's packing carl in first and second that red name carl jr knows he just needs one win to claim the world cup everyone through the first slalom successfully into the second using the reactor boosting pack is out carl jr now can taste it he can sense blood in the water he knows the pack has failed and it's only between affy and kappa to try and stop him in this tracks but carl jr has a good line here into the final corner one corner between you and glory one corner between you and victory after he's trying to stand in his way but carl jr makes it through the corner who has more speed abby's trying to chase him down carl jr does just have a good line here and on the line it's the four-time champion carl jr takes it home the greatest of all time is great when it matters most in the grand finals he takes it home he secures his legacy carl jr is unstoppable what a performance carl jr your world champion for the track mania world cup 2021 of course we still have more racing to go pack kappa and affi fighting for second place a consolation prize but a prize that all of them will be hungry to achieve yeah the second place here cannot forget that this is 4 000 euros for the second place packed in a great position to secure it with a 23-24 point lead over kappa in third so great position here just needs to win one round put himself into finalists and then try to win one more but it's very tough competition offee being the closest challenger to carl in that first round and he is right on pax back wheels here they are so close up the first slalom now towards the identity can pack holders to put himself into finalists well last time it was a mistake from pack that really cost him this time he's been able to get through the slalom cleanly now this final corner is so easy to lose your grip affy with a good line pack though has maintained his grip at kappa actually has a lot of speed coming through here kappa is going to hit the jump first however pack might overtake him on the line oh less than a tenth between the three of them capper gets first a 104.58 pack second nappy third and frustration on pax face there he knew that just a tiny bit better downhill would put him into finalists now has to finish just one more round but it buys time for kappa it buys some time and if he can win one more round 127 as pac wasn't the finalist it's not impossible to catch up not at all especially since we're on third round here of salala and we're going to be moving back to paradise after this so very much a possibility for kappa to try and make up some of that time for now though pack just needs to finish this to get himself in finalists and we'll be praying that uh alfie takes that second place or that even that first place away from kappa that 10 points when pack has hit the wall going into the dirt it is not going to be a first place for him but he will get financed regardless now as you said off he has to try to deny kappa if pak gets what he wants but couple is not going to let off he run away with this for free kappa is the world record holder on this track a 104 23 and onto zigzag he showed up and drove close to his record when it mattered can he do that again here the ice turnaround is the most important part he sets up wide goes for a very slow rotation try to build speed early off he has to lead but kappa has a little bit more speed on the final jump it will be off you though to win the third round 104.5 seems to be the benchmark off he hits it on the head here gets some more points and maybe he isn't out of the race either yeah not yet you have to think about it maybe even second place a possibility for offi but he is quite far behind that would need to win a lot in a row to make up for it pack now has one chance here on slalom hasn't been the map for him so far failed in the first lap carl jr took it home brought the world championship back to canada and now pack is looking for that second place needs to finish needs to get first if he is going to claim that prize and claim second place for him and for the uk the question is can he do it because our fee and kappa stand in his way for now though packed with some good lines into this grass turn will maintain a lot of speed going forward now over to the the dirt jumping across into the first part of the identity this slalom can be a little bit tricky we've seen it playing a few scouts before but both pack and after affi are through it successfully now over the reactor boost going up up up as much as you can pack has a lot of speed here and off he is out cap is going to try and chase him down but pack may have second place may have claimed his silver medal here at the world cup just needs to get through this ice turn successfully looking for it keeps the grip copper trying to chase him down but pack should have this one pretty much in the bag happy too far behind and pack after a couple of times of asking will claim second place in the silver medal here in the world cup and you can see the relief there a great run to a 104 448 he didn't get the win against carl but a second place beating out world class players all the way through the tournament and beating out kappa and offi here in the grand finals certainly a great performance by the englishman oh definitely like as much as it is demoralizing and you can see there was some frustration mixed with elation there for pac it's frustrating to lose out especially when it is so close to your grasp you still have to look at yourself and say hey there were 16 of the best players in the world at the group stage last week i got through there were eight of the best players in the world in the world cup today i got through to the final and i got second place behind the greatest track mania player of all time carl jr if we dare say it i think pack was the best human player in this tournament yeah i think carl jr won the robot category and uh packed there the best human in the field carl jr looks unstoppable but now let's turn our eyes on to offi and kappa here as they're about to enter a one versus one for third and fourth in the grand final and we are on office map choice of paradise as we rotate back through the maps we do all six and then we get back to paradise once again kappa two wins or a win and a finish away from finalists uh alfie still quite a way behind at 109 20 points behind all together but he can still make that up in this final 1v1 yeah you can look at the trick that he did in the beginning here adam executed it to near perfection 2200s just chipped away on the lead against copper here but we know that in 1v1 it's a lot of a different dynamic suddenly you're not pushing so much to win the race against three other great drivers you just have to be the one guys you're always looking at the splits here and calculating your next move i have a 0.27 lead i can afford to take this line a bit safer i don't have to push so much in the free building drift these kinds of details are what you're thinking about now in a 1v1 situation yeah just about beating your opposition rather than making the fastest corner the quickest time now we are moving towards the freewheeling section here and last time we saw kappa have a little bit of a struggle with this he couldn't quite get this lineup but now he has managed it and with great speed he is going to take the lead over after as we get towards the identity couple with a good line here as well we'll hold it just together after with good speed working over towards the ice nice turn from both of them they will keep it under control just about kappa just behind off he will look for a tight line here to try and get towards the final first but it's and kappa will take it just ahead of our fee who collided with the finish i it looks like they both collided it looked like kappa also crashed there very close after a bit too wide though that first round goes to kappa and kappa has a bit of a problem here he's at 139 points he's one point away from going into finalists but this buys off he time he could not win this 125 okay you'd have to win three rounds in a row but it could happen kappa nothing to lose in this round you push it all you try to win if you don't you finish you get finalists that's the thing you do have to make sure you're finishing though as much as you want to push as hard as you can there's that time buffer after off he finishes in which cuppa will have to make sure that he completes as well if after he gets six points he still has to win three races in a row to claim finalists anyway so for copper it is purely about can i get a bit more practice in on this map can i finish this map another time just see perhaps learn from up these lines or something of course you want to be consistently winning but in the grand scheme of things this single lap doesn't matter too much off eclipse and kappa will overtake him but you know we've seen how much in the this match already how much momentum matters how carl jr was able to carry four wins in circles how pack was able to answer back with four wins on semi rammy okay and a mistake like this or you know several of them could put you a bit off your game like if you're making mistakes you haven't done in practice you haven't done earlier and well at this point i don't know what to say about momentum i really don't i don't i think no no player has mentioned that yes uh there's a 15 second timer here kappa he's is he gonna finish i don't think he's finished this is actually huge he doesn't have time if he doesn't finish here this is actually massive oh one second left to go for the buster but kappa doesn't get it can't believe it throws his hands up in the air and he's gonna have to go again to get that one point that he needs because if you don't finish you don't get any points it doesn't matter where you would place like doesn't matter you're the only two people on the track you don't get the six points because of that now affy is only 14 points behind kappa didn't finish last time isn't in fine this mode doesn't get a free run here at third place in that bronze medal and now kappa clips the wall as well so afi is going to be sitting at 135 whereas kappa will be at where if he finishes 140 and in that finalist mode meaning that afi just needs two wins to catch up with kappa and take third place away from it this is suddenly looking a lot more realistic keep in mind the momentum of he's probably feeling right now kappa is off his game he's throwing his hands up he's probably feeling the tilt of not being able to perform as he has been in practice as he was hoping to do in the grand final off he could turn this tide into a two wins in a row as you said it's not impossible just has to stay consistent here and drive these final turns you can see him stretching up a little bit shaking loose he knows that this round is not the decisive one but from now on he's gonna have to be honest game he really does need to keep everything unlocked he's gonna get through the first part of the identity here relatively cleanly a lot slower as we can see than perhaps some of the times we were setting earlier on a 108.9 i mean it's still still quick but it's just not as quick as we were in the start of the day now kappa is in finalists afi is one win away from it needs two wins in a row we'll be on paradise for one more lap and then we'll move on to circles if we need it yeah and that is going to be huge because if this goes all the way to the final round where both our finalists we are going on to coppa's map choice onto circles alfie's out half he crashed well he just has to hold it together okay let's follow kappa now he failed his jump last time this time he has it how big is the gap in the splits it looks to be 1.8 seconds but thus off he makes that next jump with the lower speed kappa hitting the wall now this could be very close this is suddenly not over offi's gonna be able to speed up all throughout this part and what should have been a decided round is suddenly anyone's game it really is it's so close between the two of them now about half a second the difference you can see pack there having a little chuckle to himself the the intensity is over for him he's finished his trick but you can see just how emotionally draining and how mentally draining this must be for these two guys now into the freewheel both of them with a good drift the line should be enough here both of them with similar speed as well couple will get to the identity first assuming you can hold this drift after you're trying to take a tighter line there but capper will have more speed working up towards this identity kappa goes higher up with the lower line both of them work into the next checkpoint both of them through cleanly and copper has a three-tenths lead just this final corner between him and third place kappa will claim it and alfie will come forth in the final kappa finally getting it just in the nick of time he was one round away from getting found with some soft buffy and it could have maybe swung the other way but what a grand final it was carl jr new trek mania world champion for the fourth time truly solidifying his legacy packing second there with a great match for himself and kappa and alfie really showing up as well and third and fourth yeah incredible stuff an incredible day of uh track mania here as well the first semi-final both the semi-finals were amazing obviously so many congratulations to carl jr the man is a machine one of the well probably the greatest track trackmania player of all time it is undisputable at this point to win in 2013 and 2014 and 2015 then he got to the grand final in 2016 and in 2018 he won five serrater cups in that time he won three track media grand league playoffs and regular seasons and now another world championship medal around his neck he's too good attract me four titles for him and nowhere near that for anyone else i think we are gonna have a talk here with carl jr as well man congratulations what a final oh thank you so much i'm i'm still shaky and back back i don't know what to say about that guy he he can you really put you on on the spot there that was back and forth i mean you won four rounds on circles he took four on seven rabbits it was a an incredible spectacle to watch but what was it like to be on the tracks in that battle constantly fighting for these hundredths well the thing is uh i had a rough first map but still end up with a good amount of points then map two it went super well and after the map too i'm like all right my world cup to lose like i just need to play safe i'll get those plus six but the thing is thump gets all the plus ten so after after map three well there you go very cool so now my strut doesn't work anymore and we just gotta risk risking risk as the pace was way way too fast man it was an unbelievable match and i think it's the it's the final where i've seen that the best level out of pack or out of us together since we did a lot of of those competitions together i think we were really in top shape form so i mean i mean i'm still i'm super super happy obviously it was a sick world cup for me and yeah i i'm proud i'm proud so you should be it was an incredible performance by you the first player ever to claim four world cups as well how does it feel with it being so long because in 2016 you couldn't quite do it in 2018 you couldn't quite do it and it's been a while since you've been able to call yourself the world champ yeah exactly that's one more reason why why this world cup means a little bit more to me since it was like super long ago i almost forgot those times and yeah it means a lot even if it's online i i'm still really proud of what i did and yeah i'm just super happy with so how did you feel about now playing against the new player in the finals like affy are you scared that some of these youngsters are going to come and catch up because you have been at the top level with a lot of these names for a long time but we're seeing some some new players come in how long do you think you can go on this reign in the game um until gwen finds [Laughter] so motivation for real there where it's still great to see that the there are the same players at the top like the really top players like if you see swc 2015 or some of the old tournaments we're still there at the top and we can still challenge the the the younger guys but obviously it's cool to see a new head like effie and gwen they're both amazing players so yeah yeah and i think uh we're gonna start talking with pack in just a second but is there anything you want to say to everyone who's watching at home carl jr well just uh thank you for all the support boys it was an insane event and i hope you guys uh enjoyed the event as well i didn't see the the streams obviously but i guess it went well and uh yeah it's great that we have world cups now once a year the return of the world cup it's really good so cheers to to nadio for that and obviously all the guys supporting me i will never say enough thank you boys oh congratulations so much carl enjoy the rest of your night celebrate whatever you want and uh congratulations you've earned that world championship title once again yo thank you very much boys see ya now we're going to talk to pack the silver medalist here in the world championship pack how was that match for you and what are you feeling now after it's over ah that was intense nerve wrecking all of it to be honest i thought i started so badly and then when carl was so far in front i i i just thought to myself oh my god i need something to kick into gear here otherwise this is just going to be a walk over and i didn't want it to be another one of a carl jr walk over finals so i i did my best i i i i'm slightly disappointed in the falter in the end but like when a guy is so consistent on every single track you have to give it to him in the end don't you yeah it looked like we saw your player can when you when you did manage to bring it home for the second place and it looked like a mixture of elation and frustration to a degree would you would you agree with that assessment yeah cause i was so happy to get the finalists round done because i just what i did not want to go into paradise so i should say i just need to get this done there's no point in carrying it on and then as soon as i saw the time that i did i was like oh you're having a laugh like why has that come now and then i crashed the first round that carl was finalist so yeah i was just a bit like ah like this is the one map where i felt confident throughout the entire team gel season and then it sort of ruined me twice in a row now so uh it was a bit like ah that's annoying but in the end i've come second in the world championships like i'm happy with that but you really looked like almost poised to take the title as well you were really putting carl on the spot on semiramis and on some of these other maps you have now been very close uh as the top two in the regular season in the playoffs of tmgl and now in the world championship finals but do you see yourself being able to beat carl in one of these major tournaments in the future what does it take to beat carl jr now i think it takes to be in the rounds a little bit more as soon as like semiramis was coming i i didn't crash like i made sure i was there each time and then the next track i was trying to be there but it it just sort of it's all down to just getting in my head that i just need to be in the rounds rather than uh always kind of like push it i think there's lapses in concentration where i just suddenly crash out of nowhere on these the stupidest turns so i think in the next ones i'm just gonna try and keep the same style but maybe crash a little less like yeah always these tmgl and the world cup and this it seems to be a running theme that he gets the edge each time so i'm hoping one day again that there will be a time where i beat him in one of these major events overall the quality of your racing and of the racing generally in the world cups is is improved because you and carla pushing each other i think so yeah i mean there's always someone that i have to be in there's always someone that he has to try and be it's uh it's nice to see uh other people coming through the ranks as well like affy that was really good to see him come in the final i think he had a really unlucky start and so that might have got into his head straight away but it is nice to see these new faces coming into the world cup and then coming into the the the pro scene it's yeah it's really nice so i yeah at least there's other people coming up yeah once again yeah once again congratulations so much pack on that second place if there's anything you want to say to your fans who supported you today in the twitch chat and also on the other streams around the scene tell us what what can we hear from oh i mean yeah i mean thank you to everyone that supports me i mean there's so many carl jr fans so i mean thank you to anyone that actually uh that comes along and supports me uh sorry that i didn't get the win uh but yeah no thanks to everyone that watches it's nice to see the viewer count going up so yeah i'm glad about that and cheers to you guys for casting like and no doubt you've done a good job and i will rewatch this one so uh yeah it'd be nice to hear what you guys said throughout thank you very much pack congratulations again on your second place uh hopefully next time you are able to challenge for that first once again fingers crossed thank you guys thanks now we're going to speak to the bronze medalist the third place winner kappa what was that like in the world championship finals it was tough just as just as i expected that i didn't start that quickly but that was also to be expected i knew the map pack was not suiting me in the beginning but i knew i had stronger maps later but i'm quite disappointed that uh i totally underperformed on semiramis which was supposed to be my first very strong map and i felt like i could close the gap on if not carl then at least peg who was totally flying on that one and yeah that was probably the breaking point where uh the gap between me and the top two got way too big you know because against those guys in such a match it's very difficult to get a 10 pointer you know you can you can drive fast times but that doesn't guarantee you even a six pointer you know so once you get a gap of like 20 30 points in such a match where everyone is super fast it's super hard to come back but i'm fine with that would you say it was more them driving really well than you actually driving that poorly because we looked at your times and like a lot of the time you were within three to six tenths of world record pace it's just that pack and carl jr were within a tenth or two tenths of it no no no i don't think i played a bad match it was just for semiramis which was as i said supposed to be my good map where i felt like i could uh start catching up but eventually i was losing even more and then it was just tough to catch back but i don't think i was losing any more points like further in the match so i was still keeping pace with them it was just that one really bad map and it was impossible to catch up so after that i was kind of just focusing on myself and probably trying to keep afie in distance because third place is not bad at all i mean i had to battle it through the open qualifier you know so i've come very far so i'm still happy about myself yeah that's that's great to hear because you played a fantastic match i'm sure the fans would agree you beat out a lot of players and you also won against masa in the semis for a very close round so certainly a performance to be proud of in a third place well disturbed uh if there's anything you'd like to say to the fans who've been watching the stage is yours uh tell them what you uh think of them anything you want to say to them i think it's just yeah you can just finish that we we can speak about plastic now right you want it to be what do you think what do you think of plastic of course do you like plastic no because it's keyboard unfriendly of course i don't like it i have to use the dd buttons you know but no i will not i hope there will not be too many plastic blocks in the next gmgl i think that's understandable thank you again captain congratulations on your third place man thank you you are great guys thank you for casting and now alfie the young challenger in the finals how was this world championship final experience like for the first time well that was insane like i had nothing to do with these three monsters these three world champions i played my game i made obviously more crashes than in the semi-final but uh um i don't regret anything i'm so glad that i got to play this grand final and these guys like big shout out they are just too strong it was it must have been quite a difficult experience when these guys they're just that fast like people are going within a tenth of the world record regularly on some of these tracks like how much of a baptism of fire did it feel like well i mean i i wasn't even angry seeing my crushes because when i see the time at the finish line i'm like yeah i wouldn't have gotten them anyway so that was for sure a great experience i can learn a lot from it and hopefully come back stronger in in the next one here you i think you have a bright future ahead on the trackmania esports scene i don't think that will be the first and last time we see in the grand finals we hope to see this evolution continue because it is only like two years that you have played out the pro scene now so how does it feel to just um go through like that to be a lot of great established names and to sort of put yourself now in the future also as one of these names to be thought of as one of the finest contenders yeah of course it feels great to have all the efforts um just coming in into this performance and i feel like i'm not just putting time for nothing and obviously i'm just proud of it so you should be as well you had a great performance over the entire world cup is there anything you want to say to uh anyone out there watching anything that you want to say to your fans well obviously shout out to switzerland i'm part of representing this country in the grand final and uh yeah thanks to everyone supporting me on the international cast or on wingo bears chat that was an insane evening thank you again thank you so much shafi have a great night thanks guys
