I Tried Making a Beat in LMMS!! *free daw*

today we're making a beaten lmms or at least we're trying to for people that don't know out there lmms is a free d8w apparently one of the best ones out there you guys have been requesting me to try it out on the channel for like ever so yeah let's just get into it i'm pretty scared to be honest oh yeah also this video is sponsored by skillshare all right here we go this is literally my first time opening this up let's try to figure it out we got the mixer right here we're gonna put it right here in the car and we don't need that right now we have this song editor with some instruments is anything external to start at least i want to see what's on here customizable wave table synthesizer that sounds good wow amazing 10 out of 10. there's like a little click is it the release it's not the release it's just when you let go of a note there's a click so that's not great but fine there we go all right we're gonna figure this out we're gonna figure this out stacking what's that does it if we can get some better sounds let's try mallets okay is there like a piano okay they have samples so we're gonna try to use a sample let's see if they have a piano by the way it's not that this is bad this looks like it's actually pretty good and comprehensive it's just that i'm stupid and i can't use it we'll get better though we'll get better all right they got pianos flutes all right now we're in my world what's going on oh there's a little sampler nice everything is so loud in this program when you open it up [Music] hey all right that's not bad it's just there's that clicking sound every time i release a note which kind of ruins everything let's try to figure out how we can put effects on this assign to new effects channel there we go at effect okay let's say i want a reverb now clicks every time i release a note it's like click click all right i'm pretty happy with that i feel like we need to add some effects like we need to make it a little more like vintage i don't know just add some personality to it now can i use my plugins how do you do that damn there's got to be a way to load up plugins all right back on the phone how to load plugins in lms so just like i'm doing in the video we're all very used to picking up our phone whenever we don't know something just going on google and looking it up but there's another great way to learn stuff and that's skillshare that was a good transition so for people that don't know skillshare is a community of creatives with literally thousands of classes about anything that you can think of now if there's one thing that i'm passionate about is learning i just love learning new skills new things just anything really i've always been like this skillshare just makes it really easy you just pick your class you another one of these in the flute they had a lot of noise let me put a gate after it fire well kind of fire it'll work though it'll work all right i think it's time to add some drums i don't even think i'm going to venture into their drums i think i'm going straight to trilogy straight to my sample pack let's just get the basics going so i'm going to do drum thingy so do i just add samples to this i think so see i want this kick okay hey that works i don't think i can play with the keeper but that's okay we'll just click it in can i extend this and make it ah there we go i wish that i could hear the music as i'm doing this but i don't think i can it's a little variation on the eighth bar [Music] that's getting pretty good let me get uh let me get a hi-hat we got this we got this it's so hard to record hi-hats without the music it's really hard [Music] it completely ignored everything i played and just did straight eight notes so we'll just go with that i don't know how to fix it that's fire all right i think we can work with that let's move on to 808 this is coming together i had lost fate there for a second but it's coming together for some reason and maybe it's my fault i'm doing something wrong probably my fault since i don't know what i'm doing in here but the samples sound worse than usual like i know this 808 really well i use it a lot and it does not sound like this it's pretty different i don't know probably doing something wrong now how do you do it so that it just plays one note at a time but they don't overlap i feel like there's a lot here that i'm not getting to be honest i'm pretty impressed by lms so far like you can do a lot of stuff you just have to figure out how to do it but that's with every daw there we go that's good let's raise the pitch ah how do you do it okay okay we did it we did it [Music] quantize and i think we got it [Music] all right i think this is the best we're gonna get out of this don't forget to subscribe and we're
