I Take A Nail Technician Exam (pass or nail?)

I'm mostly just curious how much I know without doing any studying well hello everyone it's me christine again your favorite nail art channel so my recent aquarium nails video where I essentially built a fish tank out of gel polish on my boyfriend Ben's nail got me thinking what does it take to become an actually qualified nail technician is it certainly not just watching YouTube videos so if you didn't already know this I am NOT a qualified nail technician and I have exactly zero professional credentials related to cosmetics or nails I often get the question whether I'm a nail technician I always laugh nothing like what makes you think that right mangie I just liked nail art I started doing it and then I put it on the internet and Here I am I'm pretty sure it's a lot of work to become a qualified nail technician but I'm so curious about it that we're gonna find out today hold on a second I gotta fix my hair how do we like it I actually spent some time on it today my lip gloss alright where do we begin how to become a qualified nailed it's an auto-populated search to become a nail technician you have to gain a recognised qualification like VT CT level 3 diploma sounds like it's gonna take a couple years o UK government ok no that doesn't play academy Canada Career College one semester plus four week work term that's it I wouldn't does go over seven years but you know what's not clear to me like which institution is actually offering this this recognized across Canada or not alright I suppose we're gonna have to do a more specific search nail technician certificate let's start with Canada cuz that's where I am Canada's number one Pro nail school oh it's not okay for that George Brown College okay that's a college that I've heard of here in Canada we have universities and colleges universities are more for like academic writing papers and science and [ __ ] colleges for more applied careers like stuff in the trades or cosmetology school uniform requirement excuse me what are you saying I dressed like a professional today okay it's still not clear to me if there's just one accepted degree or diploma or whatever that you require to be recognized across the country as a qualified nail technician that's what I'm trying to find out here and I'm not getting it am I making any sense am i over complicating this yes probably nail technician license Ontario in Ontario there is no licensing or regulated certification in this field but actually alright so I guess that makes me a qualified nail technician in the province of it's safe to say that I'm not ready to become a qualified nail technician after seeing the types of questions asked in this exam I think I have a slightly a better idea about what it takes to become a nail tech and it's not just about like how to paint your nails there's quite a lot of biology or chemistry based questions as well as sanitation and diseases and safety personally I'm not really worried about the safety of others here in my salon so basically just doing your nails on YouTube isn't enough to become a qualified nail tech you know you can have as much fun as you want doing your own nails and [ __ ] but if you want to practice on other people then you need a license or some kind of qualifications depending on the state or province you're in and all jokes aside I know that being a nail tech or a licensed aesthetician is an actual field with certain standards in place and guidelines so you don't hurt other people don't hurt other people make you beg but anyways what I'm trying to say is that I know this is the real field of study and I respect the education behind it stay in school whatever type of school will get you where you want to go in your career love mom but that being said you never know when this YouTube thing's gonna die I might need a plan B I already got 65 percent that's almost to be you know what I should do because I am a nail tech in training I need a resume that's what I need yes resumes Christine and logic we're supposed to write in the third person that always made me uncomfortable a passionate and hardworking suck the number one nail art
