I ROLLED My Ford Ranger At The Freedom Factory! (Danger Ranger 9000)

did i just accidentally somehow buy the perfect truck for this event oh that means i'm gonna be out on like the third lap probably [Applause] welcome to vice grip garage we're here at the freedom factory in bradenton florida danger ranger nine thousand could have been ten nine's fine listen this is gonna be insane 40 of these little rangers on a 3 8 asphalt oval at the same time fillers listen if you've watched oval track racing main events or 10 12 30 maybe 17 vehicles at the same time we're talking 40 rigs out there door to door too wide three wide caution sliding fighting for first this is going to be absolutely incredible and a ton of fun buckle up the edge of your seat is cold get it warm [Music] [Applause] [Music] got the ranger out here just looking ready made a couple changes a few performance mods like adding the cb antenna it's not hooked to anything just runs in the bed but you know maybe intimidation factor probably not but we did change a couple things since the last video we basically took out the whole front end here i started with just taking out the headlight here because i wanted some cold air you know to get right in here but it turns out these units you know it makes sense you got to take everything off just to get the headlight out but now we got more air flows into the air conditioning condenser i think that's what that is not even the radiator that's fine what else did we do oh let me pop the hood here to go along with the cold air intakes i grabbed a piece of this anti-fatigue mat and jammed her in here and that way the air that shoots in is going to recirculate over this here unit that might help probably not put a new snake belt on it didn't want to blow that off of course we retained the ac you want to lose some horsepower here fellers it's a secret we also put some new iradium tip sparklators in must be from mars or something i'm not i'm not sure i've never actually held them before but they're in there now we still have to drop the green ice cube juice out and just run some lake water in there i think we'll go back in them trees back there and recycle it i heard a rumor there's a garden hose we could top that off went ahead and put a factory battery tie down in here get all the safeties working you know but we had to remove the spacers which that's fine with me i guess i was bending the rules a little bit people say that's fine listen fella if you think you're going to win this race because of a one-inch coil spacer nope this race is going to be one of the most fun races i've ever raced in my entire life but let's be honest the winner of this it's not it's five percent skill it's 95 percent don't ball the truck up and don't run over debris there's gonna be debris everywhere i'm calling it right now there's going to be a caution first five laps we got v800s which are a little bit harder but you can see there's slicks over there there's looks there there's hoosiers pretty much everywhere nido's some caprice or cop car tires but it's basically gonna be don't run over stuff don't get balled up and in a wreck and just try to survive and that's kind of our plan plus i don't want to wreck this truck to be honest it's just i don't want to do that we're getting geared up to go around some practice laps to get five practice laps around the track here that's really the first time i've drove the vehicle our goal is just gonna be making sure we get our tire pressures where we want so the tires aren't feathering we're gonna go lower on the left side probably 12 to 14 on the inside and 24 to 26 on the outside we'll start there make a few laps and see what happens nothing changed in here just is what she is oh actually it did i took the airbags out i pulled the fuses but i thought i'd be safe and just pull the whole rig out i also was working on the compact disc player wanted to run some delight yokum but couldn't get it fired up i don't know i don't know how to run that basically this is what i'm saying well we're gonna go run some practice laps you get five practice laps and this is really the first time i've driven this truck most certainly the first time i've driven driven on the track so let's see what happens we're going to be looking at tire wear and understeer or oversteer see if we can make any adjustments these tires won't take much heat to get hot but warming them up just a little bit the other big thing is what gear we need to run in i'm hoping second will do it we don't want to be going second to third every time [Applause] we're gonna try sir good enough we passed him in third and held but i don't know it doesn't have the acceleration out of the curve so we'll just have to play with it during the race not the groove news you're showing up last minute my boy derek vice creek garage how are you feeling good four liters of fury man i know this is a prime prime ranger ran so fast the radio fell off that's impressive that's impressive all right brother good luck today you better watch out for that black ranger with white doors you're going down man without fashion in front of you i'm good well practice is complete did not go as expected well i guess it did it's slow like bad slow but it didn't oversteer necessarily it didn't necessarily understeer the rear is a little bit loose and i think that's the traction bars they're working against me basically when it rolls over that traction bar grabs that spring and it turns the whole axle into like a sway bar not an anti-sway bar so it kicks out a little bit but this orange ranger for litre automatic walked right past me like a standing still so i gotta get this thing in the traffic and just hang on we're gonna head up to the tower they should have been testing my transponder i think anyway see if we can get some time so i can compare second gear versus third gear come up with a game plan for tonight got motion race works out here one lap race one-on-one it's the most how's it going so that the cars can see the flag stand we start them at this line see this white line we start them at this white line that is the finish line so a little over a three-eighths of a mile that's the finish line this is the starlight so we'll do one full lap this place is completely different than the first time i was here they did such a good job at this place it's cleaned up so much oh man robert brooks taking it to the house looks like he's slowing down is he mocking is he mocking michael hill right now so here's my times and you could see when i shifted the third it's faster i mean not a lot but it's definitely faster these were just kind of heating the tires this is full throttle 20 ones and then i think the last three laps i did third gear i think i grabbed third halfway through that one right now we're sitting in seven as far as lap times and there's call it point five eight seconds difference between me and first place so this is going to be a tight tight race keep in mind though we ain't going to be running out there ones and twosies this is going to be a packed house there's going to be a ton of lap traffic and avoiding crashes and debris and it's going to be a lot of fun so it doesn't necessarily come down to lap times guys is what i'm saying it's going to be survival and keeping tires i think by the way here's mullet what a crazy automobile man i didn't see a single party pack please do you have any taco bell down there oh yeah do you like the color so is that bad chairs it looks so cool is a brush match of the ages these guys showed up together this has got to be cleats rig got the hell yeah brother spoiler oh he's got a five speed enter this must be james's got the bush latte going on oh yeah jack stand jack stand jimmy this is the line to the spectator drags i like that wing i bet that does so there's my old crown vic 1776. oh still got the pit maneuver marks on her look at this rig you think it would start let's try it [Music] oh look at that [Music] ready to go got her drained and filled back up with water here these ford ranger fillers must know something i don't because a lot of them majority of them are running aftermarket rads with a pusher and polar fan and they're doing a bunch of stuff with the power steering and i just noticed mine is blown everywhere it's just boiling out the cap not quite sure what to do there but i guess that's another issue with these trucks maybe i should have you know researched these a little bit or try more [Music] [Music] [Music] we just got done walking around a little bit there are some fellers out here that put a lot of time into these trucks there's some really cool looking rigs out here there's guys with limiting straps and they got ratchet straps tying the rear ends together and digital dashes and all sorts of crazy stuff out there but you know i'm content with the stock rig back here just take her easy and like i say we'll eat chips at the back we'll wait till the last 15 laps and then you know we'll make our move at least that's my story and i'll stick to it well we're trying to get our stickers worked on right now everybody else is fired up and headed towards the line i think we're a little bit behind here uh we're getting some help on this side oh they're way ahead of us too i got to speed up a little bit i think i got a windshield banner i'm supposed to put on too getting suited up right now hardest part is getting the grass off of the growing the racing socks before you put the shoes on also for some reason today i wore like negative 50 below outdoorsman hike in alaska socks so that's good also i was supposed to be 13th no i am looks like i'm lining up last so not quite sure how that's going to work out but part of the game plan start in the back eat chips have fun last second check on tire pressure and the boys are just double checking them making sure we're tight there we did not execute the sticker very well last time i didn't have enough juice this time i put too much juice and got a bunch of wrinkles on it i don't know maybe from 30 feet but i have to say this was a mint execution look at this it's just no that's also horrible as well uh everyone's lined up i think i'm supposed to be you know way up there but that's okay we'll just sneak in right here look at these rangers this is incredible [Music] well i guess i'm not last there's a handful over here that's that orange truck that just walked all over me that's a four lead tray with an automatic there's some three elite trays out here some four bangers pretty competitive folks people are saying a truck up there is higher compression pistons and i don't know i really don't care this is just going to be so much fun i'm just here to wing some laps out what's pretty incredible is these rangers are running comparable times as the crown vicks [Music] oh i know what happened 37 of the 40 showed up so things got shuffled around a little bit i think i was supposed to be inside roll seven but that's okay i like the outside to start initially the guy can stay out of danger a little bit better than the inside everyone likes to dive down to the apron when the race starts we'll take the middle way and you just kind of see what shakes out here to start really good crowd out here today [Music] we walked [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] we're factory [Applause] you know jared well that didn't go as planned big shout out to the emergency services here at the track these guys are great uh really fast getting there help me get out hey my first rodeo this poor truck man i just breaks my heart my goal is to save vehicles and look at this poor thing this is where i got hit and maneuvered there was a blinker in here and everything i don't know what number it was yet but of course these tires hooked up when i got sideways i thought i got tapped on the drinker side and helped me go over but this side is unscathed so i did not get hit on this side i thought i got hit over here but it's just the way she goes i think everything here is fine in fact let's see if we could fire this thing up if i can get in hey will you see if that unlock button works steering column looks bent a little bit door opens let's see if it starts [Music] oh let's go see what we got going on i don't know what that is that's typical when they lay upside down or on their side oil works past them but uh truck is running i got the tires kind of aired up it's making all sorts of funky noises it's smoking really bad power steering's gone it doesn't look like it's charging but i'm going out i came here to race so here we go guys something is broken in the rear end it's walking all over the place we'll see how many laps i can just keep up i don't want to be uh lap crap so we'll just see what we can do to have fun and then i think we're going to have to pull off because i'm not going to be able to keep up with the rear end doing this [Applause] oh hey a little nervous [Applause] well we finished we were uh pulling on the lead lap guys pretty hard it's too bad we wrecked i really really honestly believe i fit around with them but that's the way she goes look at these tires man i used a mop i was pushing this thing hard those didn't have many laps left [Music] [Applause] there you go oh i forgot the r you're good rocco do it again on the teeth thank you so much awesome well everybody's getting loaded up here we're uh i overshot the pits coming back in so we had to load all of our stuff come down here now we're going to put the truck back on the trailer and then i got some junk that i put in the cab basically just so the kids have more room but this poor truck i got to go find the tailgate the tonneau cover i think actually saved this box that tonneau cover staying on here normally when you're old like these these bedsides kind of fold in like that but this time they didn't something in the rear end is busted i think it's an axle yeah or the something in the diff busted it's a one wheel peel now front end is certainly shot it's pulling hard left i don't know what got bent into there we'll have to maybe put this thing up on the lift and see how bad it is i can't really see much here in the dark take a peek underneath see if this thing is repairable i just feel terrible about this truck it was such a clean little rig but i guess that's uh the risk you take you know putting these rigs in there all in all it was a lot of fun i'm glad i was able to participate thanks to everybody that came out and watched live i stood up there
