I Replaced My Truck Camper with a 1979 Ford Chateau Campervan

[Music] w [Music] [Music] this is my 79 Ford chatau camper van it's got a high topper so I can stand up in here stove fridge sink it's even got spot for a bathroom got a car seat in there at the moment it's got a furnace this bed here folds down uh into I think it's a double bed and the table goes away you can also put it into a bus seating and then there's this massive bunk up here uh this one is about an RV queen so fairly large uh it's an F-150 with 351 Windsor I put new radio in there with a nice touchcreen and Android auto significantly bigger than the last camper that I had you can see it's got fairly large sink it's got water hookup it's got a water pump lots of storage under here furnace over there Works Stove Works new lighting new speakers pretty neat so folding this thing into a bed it's not that difficult this comes off this goes up here pull this then you've got a bed or you can do this and set it up has bus seats that [Music] hurt it's hot so this is our 1979 Ford Chateau motor home camper van powered by 351 of God's cubic in powering 19 feet of Freedom it will Propel us down the road of becoming the most insufferable Millennial couple in existence as you can see we've got nice bench seats here that can be folded into a table or bed we've got a bunk up top we have a stove sink kitchen fridge we got some storage down here we got some storage up here we've got some speakers and then the best part is that I can stand the whole way amazing so why a camper van well we looked at a few Class A uh but with class A and trailers uh in the city that we live in there's a bit of an issue the issue is that you can't park them in the front of your house uh there's bylaws against it uh although most of the time people do it anyways uh I didn't want to chance it uh so camper van you can park in the front uh class A's you can't uh this is also more maneuverable and smaller than a Class A so finding parking spaces uh in cities is going to be a lot easier finding camping spaces is going to be a lot easier uh this one was also in really good shape uh as you can see it's very 70s Brown in here uh and that's something that we want to change uh my wife wants to put up some wallpaper on this wall uh and we've got to do a little bit of work sealing the windows all the rubber is pretty rotten uh but nothing particularly bad the back door over here um leaks quite a bit uh that should just be a matter of doing a a seal on the back uh in terms of running it's got 176,000 km on it which is not very much comparison to the truck camper that we had uh this one has a lot more amenities uh the water and the stove being big ones uh the stove is big for kids because if you need to warm bottles or uh make them food in the middle of the night it's available uh stove also helps cleaning up puke rags and diapers and dirty shirts fridge is helpful useful you know for storing things it actually keeps a lot of the stuff that we would normally tuck under the bed in the cab of the car uh in one spot so it doesn't take up any of the living area so we picked this thing up um for $5,800 including a canoe that was on the roof uh we bought it from an old guy named Elmer who called it the fud mobile um I think we're probably going to keep that name going uh there's a furnace back here uh that'll be useful because before we had a buddy heater uh that we were kind of a bit sketched out with running in the camper this one actually events outside so hopefully we won't poison [Music] ourselves what else I don't have anything else to talk [Music] about here's a recording of how easy this thing [Music] starts [Music]
