I want to just take a few moments tonight I am gonna preach I'm gonna preach something that's that I've preached before I preached it here several years ago but I wasn't able to preach it then like I can preach it now because I came into possession of something from William and Ruby their sister Anna they honored me by giving me one of the great uncle Leonard's Bibles and it is one of my most precious treasured possessions and I'm so grateful for his legacy and you heard a little bit about that tonight and he was a fine young man as you already heard and he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost they they hadn't figured out that you weren't supposed to have Church between Christmas and New Year's and so he got the Holy Ghost on December the 28th 1920 and in a revival meeting that was going every night and I'm grateful for that heritage and you've already heard some of his story I won't repeat and be labor but in the Bible that was given to me a precious treasure in the front he wrote things he wrote in all of his Bibles and he wrote things in this Bible he liked to write down points and then give these Bibles to young ministers and so this one one of the precious powerful things that he wrote down he wrote in danger always plead the blood and I've preached that everywhere they would allow me to preach it because I think it's so powerful I agree with what Bishop said a moment ago I don't think it's right for us to just lay down and let the devil trample all over our lives and our homes and our families not when we're filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost in covenant with the name of Jesus through baptism and not when we have the Word of God backing us up and not when we have the blood of Jesus Christ covering our lives and so the elders including my great uncle Leonard they taught us something they taught us to plead the blood and there's a little bit of that militant kind of spirit that's crept into CCC the last few weeks where we just got tired of the devil just kind of pushing down and we pushed back and I'm so grateful for what God's been doing the last few weeks we're gonna go quite quickly tonight I'm not gonna keep you here a long time some of this you may have heard before if you've got a good memory most of you don't remember what I preached Wednesday night so you'll be okay this will be brand new but in honor of Bishop William and sister Ruby and this precious gift I want to preach this message that comes from this Bible and the handwriting in the front of it or Jesus right now I speak over the remaining moments of this service I thank you God for your precious people and I thank you God for the move of your spirit that we've experienced in this place tonight god I'm excited about what you've been doing and Jesus I'm looking forward to seeing what you do in the remaining months of this year god I thank you for every soul this everyone that's been baptized in your name thank you for every new person in the altar and thank you for everyone that hasn't made it to the altar yet but they've started attending CCC you're bringing us a revival now I ask that you would anoint me and then remaining moments of this service to speak a word a militant kind of a word take no prisoners take no nonsense kind of a word over your people Lord Jesus it's high time that we pushed back against the devil and all his tactics help us to square our shoulders and lock our feet and stand having done all to stand Jesus I pray over homes that have been under attack that there would be a release in the next few moments as we understand exactly what your word says I pray Jesus that you would move and minister and that you would do what only you can do would you lift up an amen kind of a praise to the Lord I want to preach to you for a few moments simply I plead the blood somebody came to me one time after I'd shared some thoughts about the blood and they said I don't agree with that pleading the blood sounds a lot like begging to me and I told them no it's not begging pleading the blood is not begging God to do something or begging God to intervene pleading the blood is a legal term if you go into the court system you will find that lawyers and judges are very familiar with legal pleadings and legal pleadings set out arguments for a case or against someone and and so defendants and they're they're all very familiar with the idea of a legal pleading a legal pleading sets out your arguments can I tell you that when you plead the blood you're setting forth arguments against the enemy you're literally listing chapter and verse concept and precept and what you're doing is saying devil you have no authority over my life my home and and you you can't be welcome here so I'm gonna push you back now you try that on your own and you're gonna come up short because you are no match for the devil on your own but when you have the blood of Jesus Christ behind you the devil is terrified of the blood it's the blood that defeated him on Calvary he's scared to death of the blood that's why we still sing about the blood that's why we still talk about the blood that's why we still preach about the blood because when we plead the blood the devil has to back off now he can stand across the fence and pretend he's real tough but he cannot interfere with you when you're pleading the blood of Jesus over your life he's terrified of it now I want to take you back to the early chapters of the Bible Genesis chapter 4 which tells us that Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived and she bore him a son Cain and Cain was the first son of Adam and then she bear his brother Abel and Abel was the second son of Adam and and then the Bible tells us that Abel kept sheep and Cain was a tiller of the ground they had two totally separate different lives Abel was a shepherd he knew what it was to raise Lambs intend sheep and Cain he was a farmer he knew what it was to plant seed and wait for rain and wait and intend that ground and wait for a harvest and we're told in Genesis 4 that in the process of time God asked them for an offering now we know what offering means in the Old Testament sense when you brought an offering it had to be an offering of blood and the reason that was is because the life of the flesh is in the blood and the reason that was is because it is the blood that makes atonement for a soul and the reason that was is without the shedding of blood there's no remission of sins so we don't have to guess at what kind of offering God asked God requested this and then the boys both of these brothers bring an offering now for Abel the second son of Adam he brings an offering of a lamb but Cain his older brother he brings an offering of the fruit of the ground he's a farmer I don't know whether he was too proud to ask Abel for a lamb or whether he didn't want to spend money to buy a lamb from Abel but Cain brought the fruit of his field and he offered that a bloodless sacrifice it didn't do anything meanwhile Abel offered the proper sacrifice he took a lamb from his flock and he offered that lamb and so now we have this situation where God is very pleased with Abel's offering and God is not pleased with Cain's offering and Cain finds out about it and God talks to Cain about it and Cain's angry with God and God is angry with Cain and then comes the situation that gives us our text because something settles in Cain's heart and he's angry and he's jealous he's envious of his brother and the Bible tells us that Cain talked with Abel his brother and it came to pass when they were in the field that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him and the Lord said to Cain where is Abel your brother and he said I don't know am I my brother's keeper and he said what have you done the voice of your brother's blood is crying unto me from the ground and Cain now because you've done this you are cursed from the earth which has opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand Cain listen to me let me tell you what's different now that you've done this terrible act when you till the ground it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth that's our text it's the first murder it's the first family squabble that ends in a disaster but there's something way more important going on here because here's what we find out Abel the second son of Adam he was killed in a certain place he was also killed to symbolize something God takes the disasters that are in the Word of God human beings making terrible mistakes and through those he teaches us powerful principles here's Cain Cain is over here and and he's a tiller of the ground he works in the field Cain is a farmer and he works over here in his little territory and he plants crops and he harvests crops and his life is cyclical and it goes around and around every year and he knows exactly how to farm he knows what it is the plants eat and pray for rain and wait for his crop he knows all about that but Abel's a different kind of a guy he works over here in the Sheep field and he raises lambs now here's where it gets really incredible because there comes a day when Abel leaves his territory the sheepfold and we're told that he goes to the field which is Cain's territory so you've got to get this the second son of Adam Abel comes to the territory of Cain the first son of Adam and while the second son of Adam is in the territory of the first son of Adam the first son of Adam Cain lifts up wicked hands and kills Abel the second son of Adam and buries his body in the ground and walks away thinking there that is the end of that I don't have to deal with him anymore but that's when it happened the blood of that innocent brother Abel began to sleet into the ground and as soon as his blood began to seep into the ground God said wait a minute something just changed I can hear his blood crying to me from the ground and Cain you're in trouble because the blood is bleeding against you the blood is talking against you the blood has a voice okay that's when it all changed the the that's not just a story that we read that's a beautiful picture because you know that Jesus is called the second son of Adam and humanity is called the first Adam and so it's the picture of redemption it's only four chapters in in your Bible but already we've got this picture that Jesus who is the second Adam he leaves his territory in heaven and he came here to earth which was our territory human beings mankind the first Adam and while the second son of Adam is in the territory of the first son of Adam the first son of Adam mankind lifted up wicked hands and nailed Jesus the second Adam to the cross but here's what the devil wasn't expecting when the blood of Jesus Christ seeped out of his body and began to run down that old rugged cross and when the blood touched the soil of our sin-sick sin cursed planet all of a sudden something shifted in heaven and heaven said wait a minute we can hear the blood talking can I tell you something the blood has never stopped talking for 2,000 years and the blood is still pleading for the people of God tonight you don't have to let the devil march into your home and mess everything up you don't have to let the devil take control of your mind and bind you and a dick you because you have a right to fight as a child of God and when you get in danger when you get in trouble you need to lock your feet and square your shoulders and say I plead the blood I wish we could practice right now some of you need to do that over your home I plead the blood devil you've been causing too much chaos I plead the blood devil you've been attacking way too often I plead the blood I plead the blood Satan the blood of Jesus is greater than you are Satan the blood of Jesus is stronger than you are Romans tells us that what the law couldn't do because it was weak through the flesh God he sent his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sit and he condemned sin in the flesh Calvary wasn't a massacre it wasn't a murder victim it wasn't a martyr Calvary was intentional the law couldn't help us we talked about that this morning because it was too weak but God he sent his son in the likeness of sinful flesh and he condemned sin he shut down the power of sin in the flesh Bishop referred to this a few minutes ago Isaiah the prophet caught a glimpse of it and he said he is despised and rejected of men he see in Calvary but he 600 years before crucifixion is even invented but he still sees it he's despised and rejected of men a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and we hid as it were our faces from him he was despised and we esteemed him not surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows yet we did esteem him stricken smitten of God and afflicted but it wasn't an accident it was all for a purpose he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and then the old prophet gets anointed and he gets so excited that he shifts verb tenses and he jumps into the present and he says and with His stripes we are healed so he's saying to you that the blood the stripes the bruising the beating the crucifixion it wasn't all just past tense there's an eternal now in the crucifixion I know it happened to year 2000 years ago but the crucifixion still works today the blood of Jesus Christ still cleanses today the blood of Jesus Christ still heals today God says to Cain where's your brother and Cain says am I my brother's keeper he's trying to deflect but God said you can't deflect you can't deny I can hear Abel's blood talking from the ground Cain is the first son of Adam he's like the first Adam who was sinful but Abel is the second Adam he's Jesus in type he's a picture of Jesus Christ the second Adam who shed his blood Paul catches it in first Corinthians he said and so it is written the first man Adam was made a living soul but the last Adam was made a quickening spirit you my friend are a living soul you have a will and a personality and a temperament you have intellect and memory you've got it all you're a living soul but when Jesus walked on this earth he was more than a living soul the last Adam the second Adam Jesus he was everything you are but there was an extra dimension to him that was absolutely supernatural because he was God robed in flesh so the last Adam he was made a quickening spirit that's why Jesus could raise the dead that's why he could open blind eyes that's why he could straighten out lame limbs just by speaking to those people because he was a quickening spirit the great news of the gospel though is that you can have the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead it can dwell in you and it can quicken your mortal body so I'm not the second Adam that's Jesus I'm just the first Adam on like Cain I'm sinful I'm weak I'm frail I'm fallible I'm fickle I'm human but the second Adam he came to earth and although humanity crucified him it was a bait and switch it was a sneak attack it was an ambush and when Calvary happened the blood of the second Adam it was shed for me part of the first Adam and so now I am NOT Jesus but I have a right and a privilege of having the spirit of Jesus dwell inside of me it's called the Holy Ghost if you're filled with the Holy Ghost you need to understand every once in a while what a privilege it is Paul catches it again in verse 47 he said the first man is of the earth and he's earthy but the second man he's the lord from heaven that's our Jesus now the second half of the book of Romans compares these two Adams we did this a couple years ago you'll remember in the Roman series that we did it's amazing Romans 5 verse 12 begins to talk about these two atoms wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death came by sin and and death passed on all men for that all have sinned now this isn't hardly fair because what Paul just told us is a tragic chain reaction sin came into the world through Adam and death came through his sin and sin and death were both passed down through the family tree and that's why we still have the terrible twos and the treacherous teens and we had all of that stuff going because your precious wonderful children they were born the same way you were born they were born with a sinful nature notice very carefully Paul is not saying in Romans that were all like Adam because you might be very different than Adam in your personality he's not saying we're all like Adam he's saying something more tragic we were all not just like Adam we were all in Adam and what that means is that Adams disobedience became my disobedience and Adams sin became my sin and Adams rebellion became my rebellion and that's how it got passed down so this is unbelievable that we've got this long line of humanity standing behind the first Adam and because he sinned and he messed up and he sold us down the river now we're all in trouble and we all stand in that long line because he was our covenant representative in the Garden of Eden and that makes us mad because we're Democratic we're Canadians oh there's a few Americans here but we're Canadians and we like to vote on things and because we didn't get our vote in the Garden of Eden we don't like it that God put Adam there and said I'm gonna let him represent the whole human race and our mind says God that's not fair that system isn't fair how could you put Adam there and then you make all of us suffer because of what Adam messed up and God says wait a minute if you'll just wait for just a second let me show you the other side of my plan because here's the thing if one man could get us all in trouble if one man could sin and plunge the whole human race into this disability called a sinful nature then if there could ever come another Adam who was sinless then we could change to his kingdom he could represent us and we could change lines and stand in a line behind the second Adam the Bible says if any man's in Christ he's a new creature all the Bible's saying is you used to be in this line and everything that your sinful heritage passed down to you that's how you acted that's how you thought that's what you did that's what's in your bloodline that's what's in your spirit that's what's in your mind but thank God there's an opportunity through the gospel for you to get out of this line headed by the first Adam and change to a different Kingdom and now I stand in a line behind Jesus Christ the second Adam and so I am sinless not because I'm sinless in my humanity I'm sinless because he has covered my sin I couldn't be sinless I couldn't I could work for a thousand years and I could never come up sinless but when he looks at me guess what he doesn't see any sin you know why because I'm covered by the blood of Jesus I fail and I mess up and I make mistakes but you know what when he sees me he doesn't see any failure and mess up and mistakes it's not because they're not there it's because there's something that has been shed there's something that's talking for me there's something that's covered me I'm under the blood of Jesus Christ so when Jesus looks at me it looks like I'm sinless it looks like I'm thoughtless it looks like I'm perfect I'm not any of the above but it's the blood of Jesus Christ that covers me that's something to be thankful for Paul says in verse 15 he says not like the offence so also is the free gift if through the offence of one Adam many be dead much more the grace of God and the gift of grace which is by one man Jesus Christ this has abounded of many Adam messed us all up but Jesus fixed us all up it's it's amazing and and so I stand here tonight and I thank God for the privilege of pleading the blood the blood isn't what saves you and forgives your sin and then drops you the blood is a weapon the blood is a covering the blood is a protection the blood is our strength the blood is our foundation if you would lift your hands right now and plead the blood over your life plead the blood over your life plead the blood indelible local level Asia Summit Erica Sabathia Taba in durable rhetoric Arabia cement Erica Shama pastor's done preaching but Jesus isn't finished moving
