you talking about today we're gonna help you become v-shared too i think i'll pass [Music] good morning everybody welcome to the video so the fitness industry has a bunch of controversial characters and who is on the top of that list i'll give you guys a second that is v-shred you want to a youtube video and more than likely an attitude will pop up trying to promote a test booster a physique something of that nature and the dude has been facing a lot of flack especially right now and to be honest i don't know much about him so like i tell pablo every single night i'm down to try anything once so i went onto his website and purchased a customized program for 185 canadian and we are going to see today is it worth it and no matter you know how bad it could probably be it's definitely not gonna be the worst 185 dollars i've ever spent i can promise you guys that so i went to vshred.com went to programs and then i clicked on customize the diet and training plan for him for 149 american and then i started to read this like pretty much a novel about how he is going to change my life get me shredded build some muscle just telling me all these like crazy things that just sounds too good to be true and he makes it very clear like how he words things like i'm going to help you do this we are going to do this together so i was like you know what it sold me so i bought the plan and then as soon as i bought it it was another guy so it wouldn't be the first time i've been houdini by two minutes and see the other guy coming but it seems a little bit misleading don't you think so once i got the questionnaire i was actually pretty shocked about how good it was so it asked all the right questions you know height weights um you know favorite exercises least favorite exercises your favorite foods least favorite foods your workout history you know your stress levels how many days you're in the gym it was just so detailed i thought i was gonna be at the sperm bank trying to find my favorite playboy article you know so i sent off the questionnaire and with the program you get 24 7 support with the trainer which i think is great so i actually just messaged him before i made this video saying hey dude can i make a video on my transformation just so i don't get sued because i get sued pretty quick if i just threw up all this information without any consent and he said dude use whatever you want all this information we're given to you is free rain and i said sick so let's get into the video so this plan has me eating 3 400 calories which would have me starting on a tlc show in no time that's way too many calories for me i usually maintain my weight on like 27 to 2800 calories 3 400 calories i wonder where they got that i wonder what online nutritional calculator that they used but they want me to gain half a pound per week which comes to two pounds per month which is very very good especially considering i am an advanced lifter two pounds per month is what you should shoot for it's not too much um you know at this rate i'm not gaining too much muscle if you're a newbie in the gym you can get away with getting one pound per week but for me there is no chance so meal number one is gonna be some eggs oatmeal and some [Music] blueberries [Music] so naturally a customized program leads to the ancient industry standard of oatmeal and eggs the romeo and juliet of the fitness industry unpopular opinion guys i don't find oatmeal filling and i don't find it macro friendly i don't know i i don't know why this is such a big thing in fitness let me know in the comments down below what you guys think so the total calories for this meal come out to 614 calories 78 grams of carbs uh 20 grams of protein and 23 grams of fats overall pretty good i was a little bit worried when i got the eggs because i said hard boiled on the meal plan and then i saw the notes that said you could have it anyway that you want which was thankfully for me because i didn't have to pull it eggs for the second time today and i love blueberries my favorite berry um but at least i still have my morning citrus so overall can't complain this meal and uh yeah it's delicious breakfast is a wrap super delicious can't complain all whole foods i'm gonna see you guys in a couple hours because guess what guys it's six meals i'm reading every two [Music] hours all right guys so time for the little snacky poo it has been two hours since breakfast and i am starving so this comes out to 418 calories and we have ourselves an apple a pink lady apple a great apple and an even better hub search term we got some peanut butter so i call for almond butter i don't have that i i don't i don't hate on it i love all butters i love this uh delicious creamy world that's gone me through a lot of hard times no pun intended and then we got some pretzels here so i specifically asked in my like questionnaire that i like rice cakes and they gave me these skinny little shafts not even with a salty finish which is kind of disappointing so gonna have this right now and then we're gonna head to the gym after that so let's get some peanut butter on this uh apple not the usual way to get this in my mouth but it will do today this is also my second serving of fruit and i specifically requested that i love pineapple so it seems like even though i wrote down my favorite foods they weren't really listening so what the heck so along with all the food they also said we'd have some drinking water so thank you for the clarification but now i don't know what to do with all that bell delphine bathwater i bought but i wonder if i can resell it all right guys so we are at the gym right now forgot my headphones but it is what it is we are still going to have a pretty sick workout so i'm going to put the program on the screen right now so you will see he did give me a bro split other than the legs i'm doing legs twice a week because i did say in the questionnaire that my legs are my weak point and my calves but i don't i don't see cows in the program at all which is kind of weird so when he asked me in the program my favorite exercises i listed them all off and i said i always used to do around three sets eight to ten reps and they pretty much just regurgitated what i put in the questionnaire and it's just a mirage of three sets of eight to ten not enough volume for the upper body at all like a couple of sets six sets and yeah so i mean overall i mean i don't really know this doesn't seem like enough volume especially for an advanced lifter training six to seven years so i don't know if they're just handing this off to people like everyone regardless of your training age so uh we are gonna do today the arm workout i have not done an arm day in such a long time it's a treat so let's get into it [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so just extend closer bench three sets eight to ten reps so very very good for the triceps the main compound movement for the day it's great to overload the triceps so when you do this exercise quick tip you don't need to actually hold it literally like close grip hands touching that's just really bad for the wrist so what i suggest you know with shoulder width maybe even slightly inside if you want to even do that same effect still crushes the triceps so now we're going to move on to some biceps easy bar curls three sets eight to ten reps the main con boom for that [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so after a few sets of curls that is when the sweater comes off so we're about to head into the last set of easy bar curls and you know strip curls are great and all with no momentum but it's okay to cheat every now and then towards the end of the set so when things get a little bit heavy it's okay to have a little bit of a swing get the weight up overload the muscle so probably you're probably gonna see me do that probably for the last like maybe three reps or so and that's totally fine shut up okay now you guys want to see me swing a little bit she's a little bit of hit movement [Music] so that was three sets eight to ten of the reverse creature curl so usually anything like reverse or like hammer curl i could do like 12 to 15 reps this is one thing i don't like about this program is it's all eight to ten reps and it makes it kind of like not that fun so usually i like to start my workouts off in like the heavier weights like the eight to ten or the six to eights and then as the workout kind of progresses i kind of go down and reps like 10 to 12 and then i finish off like a 12 to 15s it just keeps things more fun more interesting and you're also training you know the endurance the strength and just the hypertrophy rep ranges even though all reparations could build muscle but you know i like to kind of switch it up keeps things more fun and it keeps you consistent because if you don't like what you're doing in the gym you won't keep on going so always just kind of do what you want to do it doesn't really matter about how you know optimal may be what's what's optimal is that you're consistently coming to the gym every single day [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay guys so we're on to the last arm exercise of the day tricep road push downs three sets eight to ten reps quick tip so when you come down you wanna spread them like your significant other's legs just wide okay you wanna you wanna come down like this so come down all the way spread them just spread them [Music] [Applause] [Music] so workout is a wrap and nothing on this earth at least appropriate enough to see on youtube beats an arm pump don't you guys think i think so uh so honestly in my opinion i don't think going to the gym for a straight up arm day is very necessary at all all the things i did in the gym today i could have easily just added to the end of my pushing my pull sessions and especially right now when gym time is very scarce i don't think it's like worth driving all the way down to do a couple sets of barbell curls and extensions you know so just you know you can use your time a little bit more wisely in the gym so we are heading home right now i'm super hungry we're gonna make some lunch for lunch today we are having some baby carrots i've been called baby carrot my entire life like i always say give it some ranch and it's good to go you know it still works and then on the side we are having a taco salad so i got some romaine lettuce some avocado some diced tomato and some cheese and then on top i added four ounces of lean ground beef season that up with some low sodium taco seasoning and a quarter of a cup of black beans so i really like how they kind of incorporate recipes it keeps the meal plan fun instead of just going okay guys for lunch you're gonna have brown rice chicken and broccoli it just keeps things interesting gets you kind of excited for the next meal so i really like that i'm super excited this looks delicious so let's eat calories for the bomb taco salad will be on the screen right now so they called the bomb taco salad in my experience the explosiveness happens after the meal is done you know what i'm saying so i've had you know tacos and salads in the same meal many times before but my mouth has not been big enough to handle both at once but this thing looks incredible on the side we have 15 baby carrots reminds me of my summer as a sleep away camp here we go it's like homemade chipotle guys cannot go wrong with that i will say though i did request in my favorite foods that my favorite like protein source is ground turkey and they give me ground beef that's an easy substitution if this really was customized to me so right now they haven't got my fruit down that i requested the pineapple the rice cakes were not there and now the ground turkey so it just seems like they try to like wow you with the questionnaire and then they don't do anything about it so it's kind of weird but i mean i can't complain i still love ground beef but for me it's one of those things that i can overeat very very easily which is why i stick to ground turkey okay guys so we're about to do some cardio right now so on the plan i'm doing 15 minutes of cardio of choice every single day so i appreciate the freedom but they definitely overestimated my stamina so we are going to try one of these shreds workouts on his youtube channel because you know this is where he built his name so i found this one it's like a 12 12-minute workout but let's see where it is we need to stop v-shred oh geez fitness villain how v should end his career oh jeez v-shard must be stopped oh god okay v-shred 12-minute fat burning cardio workout we are gonna try that right now i'm gonna turn my apple watch on and see how many calories i can burn in 12 minutes [Music] push it all right guys so that's gonna wrap up the workout total calories burned 152 calories so pretty good if you guys are looking for some cardio i don't have much time like in the morning or you know get home from work stuff like this is a great option gets the heart rate going works up a sweat so now we're going to make the post-workout snack and get off the day [Applause] all right guys so time for snack number two of the day so we got two scoops of protein and one extra large banana that they say has to be nine inches according to the internet yeah i think it's nine inches so i'm gonna serve this up and then after this we got two more meals after that so just like connor murphy there is a time and place to drink your calories but in a 30 400 calorie diet it's just not it but if you want to drink your calories blue star iso smooth is where it's at ten ten for ten percent off chocolate caramel my favorite flavor give it a shot if you haven't so i decided to go take a look at vshred's youtube channel because this is pretty much well it actually is where he built his name in the fitness industry so i wanted to kind of see what he promotes on his channel compared to what i got in my plan and right away he is a big advocate on his youtube channel of doing abs a lot of his big hit videos are all like you know quick abs five minutes to abs and stuff like that and yet i have no abs in my program which is kind of it's kind of weird don't you think and then i started to like look a little bit deeper and then i found a video called seven uh bicep exercises for bigger arms don't skip these so they he listed the seven and only one of the seven which was the easy bar curl was in my plan so you would think that if he has these muscular exercises you put them in my plan don't you think i think that i would too if i had these exercises that i thought were absolutely amazing i'll do them too you know and then i looked at another video 12 best shoulder exercises for bolder shoulders and he listed a ton and there's only one that's in my program that's just the basic overhead press and then after that there's all these fancy ones here and none of them are in my program so i think the point of what i'm trying to say is that the reason why he got so many views off the bat and has so many subscribers is because he gives you guys false hopes like you know five minutes to abs you're not gonna get abs in five minutes you know all these fancy you know shoulder exercises it just it's all fancy it's not actually what you need to do so i honestly believe that he had nothing to do with the making of my program like what he promotes here is nothing like what i got so it kind of just shows you like he is the face of this big brand and he's all these other people working for him who are making the programs that we don't know who they are so it just seems a little bit wrong to me it just seems that you know he's really just trying to get the clicks doesn't really care about you know the advice that he's sharing with so many people [Music] so i'm gonna seduce myself for dinner tonight with this orange scented candle so for dinner we got some wild rice we've got some pork chops and some boiled broccoli probably the most depressing way that you could possibly have vegetables and i have not had pork for a very long time usually when i have pork it's in it's of the pulled variety when i see a pig i tend to pull it but i've not had it in its chalk form in quite some time so this will be interesting to see that's some succulent pig man that rosemary comes through the rosemary always comes through it's very woody and earthy at the end of the day you cannot go wrong with these meal choices they are not what i would pick personally but they are whole foods they are healthy they are just it's just not tailored to me even though i bought this customized program but it is what it is i also find meal plans to make things seem more intense than what it really is because fitness is not that intense when you have a meal plan you're eating six times a day it just makes things more of a task it makes you not want to do it so again have fun with it track your calories that's all you really got to do you got to track your calories make sure you hit your protein hit your calories and you will be okay it could be two meals a day it could be three meals a day however you want to do it it doesn't have to be like this just have fun with it time for the last meal of the day and we are having ourselves some beef jerky aka cow raisins so i got this jalapeno flavor so decided to offer a spiciness over my traditional sauce meats and to go with this this is where it gets interesting because this is where you know they did not listen to my requests because on the side we are having wait for it regular yogurt not greek yogurt and i specifically said i like greek yogurt i specifically also said i want a donut every single day and they didn't even address that i can see why they would say that i shouldn't have a donut but they didn't even address it so i don't know what it is so the fact that they gave me this over greek yogurt's a lot like you know sleeping with your girlfriend's twin you know it looks the same but it just tastes a little bit off now this is where you lose me you pick up the yogurt you go like this and it drops greek yogurt it doesn't do that now i went to the gas station to buy some beef jerky and it was 8.99 which is absolutely insane so my goal in life is to be able to go to the gas station buy beef jerky and just not even be worried about it just be so financially stable you know beef jerky is just it's nothing you know let's give this a yogurt a taste test it's just so not even close to the greek yogurt realm uh my total calories for the day have come to 3381 carbs 320 grams protein 202 grams and fat grams so overall i want to give this program and the entire day you know maybe like a five and a half out of ten the food was good it was whole foods compound movements and those are like the two most important things you're doing your compound movements and you're having whole foods that are healthy for you but at the same time it just seemed like everything that i said was just you know it was just forgotten and it just seemed like they gave me what they give everyone else so it'd be very interesting to see if they gave a beginner the exact same thing that they gave me so you know moral of the story is if you go to a website to buy a program from your favorite fitness guy online most often times he's not the guy making it you know i get approached every single day from companies saying hey will can we make a program for you we'll just slap your name right on it and you don't have to do anything and i'm like no because if i'm going to make program i'm actually going to do it and the fact that i make them i put them online for free because i don't think that you should i don't think you should buy programs at all i think it's stupid and yeah and all this stuff that you could find online for free so easily 185 dollars was so not worth it and yeah so overall this was not worth it the v-sharp program i don't want to say it sucked but it was just very mediocre you can go online and find it all so
