I did it again 😬

hey it's me t long time no see so in the last video i asked you do you like the daily vlogs and then i proceeded to fall off the face of the earth earth and disappear for two months after calving season wrapped up then branding season got started and in full swing mr ffb and i were going in two different directions most days and it just was really overwhelming to try and film and edit and get videos out i do apologize for the poor timing because i did ask how you all felt about daily vlogs and y'all pretty much i don't know if i can pull off y'all you guys pretty much all said uh that you like daily vlogs and then i proceeded to not put up another vlog for two months so i do apologize for that i did get a little like snippets of what we've been up to all spring and summer before i actually quit recording i caught this footage since we are all done calving and it's we're doing into spring work now it's more of mr ffb going one way and i'm going the other way and today my way is running through everything and just doing a health check we're looking for scours like the green grass can cause scours in some calves which if you've ever had diarrhea you know that it doesn't take too long and you get dehydrated well here's an example that calf right there you see how it has kind of white oh yeah there you go that calf has scours we're gonna take a closer look we're still going i might run over to the tank and catch that one and get him rehydrated when we rehydrate them it's called drenching and we use this bottle with this tube we put it in their mouth and they swallow it and this bottle we fill it up we fill it up with water and a little bit of baking soda and the baking soda helps kind of like neutralize their stomach and yeah i'm going to go get some water he's walking up to his mom and he's looking a little wobbly he is going into nurse but sorry i get kind of close here sometimes he's going into nurse but i still think i wanna give him some soda water i forgot my dang tripod so i had to get creative with how to prop up the camera thought i was out of soda i have a little bit as you might imagine our calves are not tame so i can't just walk up to him and give him this soda water i'm gonna have to rope him so i'm not gonna film that because i don't on my tripod and it would just be too hard i think thankfully he is with his mom so if he sticks close to her it should be easy to easier to get him pot those are probably famous last words anyway here we go he's okay mom he's okay mom i always listen to make sure they're breathing before i tip the bottle up because i don't want to dry on them he's all right mom i'll let him up here in a second he's all right mom i don't know if you can hear the bubbles but sometimes with this drenching bottle it can be a challenge to you're either in too deep or whatever there's not enough air going back up into the bottle to get the soda water in them so that's why i'm kind of moving it up and down a little bit and i cracked the seal on this just a little bit almost done here just a little more little guy there you go good good okay hang on hang on hang on hang on hang on i gotta untie you i gotta untie ya hey settle down i gotta untie you first and then you can go there you go buddy there you go little buddy feel better i'm happy to report that calf made a full recovery in addition to ranching we did have ourselves a little fun this summer say hi bob sir those are my ears come on now tripp has been uh training one of last year's barn calves to ride but this is after branding season wrapped up we actually got to sneak away for some much needed r r vacation time off the ranch we stopped for a few days or a couple of days in eastern nebraska with my family and then we went on further east to lake okoboji and spent five days five wonderful days [Music] he said the corners are the worst hi ken how was it that was amazing if you're not already and you would like to keep up with our daily shenanigans be sure that you're following us over on instagram at faith family and beef i mean i have no plans of pulling another disappearing act but i didn't have any plans of doing that before branding season started either so if you want to keep up with us daily be sure to follow us on instagram at faith family and beef how should i sign this off
