IT'S HOT and the water won't pump

well it's been a while welcome back to the ranch uh we are alive summer spring and summer we're just crazy busy this year and so yeah didn't get any new videos out [Music] but top top let me i need a glove don't have gloves i'm gonna get some pliers got pliers and my hose clamps uh also some of you have commented on my sunglasses in the past and i mean not only do they protect my very light colored eyes from going blind in the sun's outrageous rays they also double as safety glasses because they cover my whole eye so for those of you wondering no the 70s may not have their shades back this solar is not pumping water as you can see maybe i ca i can't point and film at the same time it just it it doesn't work but this is problematic because it is super hot out and if the wind is not blowing like today it's not blowing then when the cows get in this pasture they won't have any water so the problem is is that this hose is not long enough the water is too deep down in this well so i brought some more hose out and i'm gonna add an extension on and i'm gonna see if that works also because it's hotter than the hubs out i am wearing probably not an appropriate outfit for ranch work i don't know if you can see that i got shorts on i may regret it later but for now it's fine it's fine so i've been out here like five seconds and i'm already regretting not putting jeans on the flies are biting my legs it's not comfortable so i'm gonna hurry and get this done i hope i hope it's fast [Music] such a ding-dong sometimes they help hose clamps on okay this will help these panels are super hot another good reason to wear jeans to do this job [Music] so i just am getting ready to drop this hose down this newly extended hose and i realize that i don't have enough rope this is the hose obviously and this is the cord that runs the electricity to the pump that's captured by the solar panels and this rope holds everything up so that it just doesn't you know go forever down however deep the well is and as you can see that's all that's left so i'm gonna have to use a little rancher ingenuity also i want to drive all the way back to the house and get rope from the shop which i don't really want to do let me see what i can find so look at that that's not gonna work chain might be a little bit of overkill definitely can't use that rope ah but i can use this rope this rope so we always keep a rope in the back of the side by side so if we have a sick calf or something then we can get them caught and get them taken care of because we also keep a fanny pack with you know like it's like a calf first aid kit with medicine and supplies in it but this rope this rope it broke so it's really short and not really good for catching anything i'm gonna use it here at least until i can get the appropriate rope put out here at a later date maybe tomorrow maybe not ah so hmm i got a lot more cord out just let it all out i didn't do a very good job of showing that so moment of truth is it gonna pump now oh i hear the pump here it comes maybe the suspense is killing me success i win that's really boasting but sometimes when i have a challenge like this and then i kick its butt i just like to say that so just just just go with me on it but i can't leave this hose laying around like this so i'm gonna have to cut it off also the whole hose clamping could have been avoided this has a quick connect on it but the other end of this hose didn't have one and we didn't have one that i could add to it here's the hose clamps so the moral of today's story is with a can-do attitude a little rancher ingenuity and a short chunk of rope you can do just about anything
