I Can't Believe This! Barn Find Of The Century!

push this thing out of here and see what it looks like in the light i can't turn my phone off i'm so excited we're in oregon we're going to pick this truck up and we're going to finish it there she is [Music] yeah so if you know anybody um i've also got a an old car not just a truck but i've got an old car that is probably going to be looking for a new home so because i'm not going to drive it yeah we should probably look at that car it's pretty dirty right now but uh you want to see it i'll show it to you how long has it been since it ran i started it probably two years ago drove started it up opened the shop or the garage started it backed it out let it sit there and run for a while and drove it back in shut it off david used to drive it took it to the car shows but i'm never going to drive it again i drove to high school so oh my gosh because the mice have been are you kidding me this thing is awesome it's a 67 firebird like super cool it's it used to be really pretty and clean though before it's still uh to me this thing is beautiful i'm uh in love right now yeah yeah this car is so cool so your daddy bought this my dad bought this car in 1967 i took my original driver's test in this car oh my god this thing is so awesome this car is so cool this is so cool it almost looks like there's little uh squirrels chipmunks or something on the ground here that they are they're packed you don't even know how long i've looked for a car like this now paul you know you know the way to get here so uh if you know if you decide you're interested in it you can always come back and just load her up on the trailer and take her home and what if we just made it run and drove it home well i suppose you could do that too if michelle's up to ryden i mean 14 hours and i this is a pretty sweet ride i could probably handle it as long as there's a heater unless unless the pack rats ate it yeah i got it i got a blanket we're fine we'll uh i think we should push it out of here i think we should too because i can wash it off yeah we'll push it out and check it out i ain't even worried about that that's that's the least of my worries it's gross we push it out of here check the fluids and fire it up and see if driving at home is a possibility this thing's cool this car's awesome man i can't even believe it oh my god it's all original basically i don't see like any yeah it don't appear like the wires have been chewed or nothing like that this car is awesome they were starting a few nests here and there push this thing out of here and see what it looks like in the light test in it but i got to drive the car through high school some and then my dad moved to oklahoma in 1975 and he wasn't going to take the car and i said well i'm buying it from you then so that's so cool yeah my dad bought it new that's amazing yeah can you believe this this thing's freaking bad that's all i got to say about it make [Applause] i didn't even i didn't see if the battery's dead it's been a year two years [Music] we're gonna need one of those little uh tree thingies hanging in there yeah yeah it smells just a little bit like rats oh yeah that's a little mousy as long as one of them doesn't come crawling up my leg then i'll be fine i can give you the story about when i had one do that to me oh yeah i was in a semi hall in a dozer and i looked down and there was this pack of big old eyes just sitting on my knee oh yeah i had a i had a d7 on the back it was all i could do to not crash that truck i was standing up stomping all over the floorboards trying to kill that thing [Music] welcome to oregon here comes the rain check the car out the car is bad eh it's awesome it's uh my dream car basically which uh who knew that we were gonna come here and find that it's for sale she wants to sit and it's for sale we're gonna work a deal out and hopefully drive that home we gotta go to the parts store and find a battery and some stuff to start it and see if uh road trip and it's even possible michelle's excited because it's snowing and it does have 10 inch wide meets on the back of it so that's not gonna be very fun in the snow but i'm willing to risk it for that car we're gonna go to lunch with the guy that actually started building this rat rod and he's going to tell us about it i think you might wipe some stuff off the window yeah all right we're in here we are getting some parts and pieces that we need it worked for me forever there's no reason to change it no i'm betting they don't have this in stock so they're classic yeah we may have found the right guy [Applause] all right i think we got everything that we're going to need until we don't and then we'll come back so here we go juan quince here central oregon i'm standing next to a 42 chevy pickup that i originally uh started and built and sold to my good friend dave meekins it was basically two frame rails in the cab when it started oh you did the paint job and everything on it yeah all the bodywork all the paint job okay basically put the basic truck together okay well that often might be younger can you charge it five of oh eight probably probably toast it's probably probably spent sometimes you can sometimes you can um [Music] oh yeah put that back on and get it in the shelf and then all right [Music] all right we'll ease it in there and change the oil [Music] [Applause] [Music] you really want to sell this car [Music] you know i i'm not ever going to drive at paul and it just it makes me sad to come out to the garage and see it sitting because david enjoyed it so much so yeah i do so if you know if you know somebody that might be interested in it let me know i'm interested i would love to buy this car well i don't have any way to get it home other than drive it so we're going to drive it if you're going to sell it to us well you can make me an offer and if we can come to an agreement i want to drive that car home [Music] i've been looking for one of those cars forever so this is better than christmas any day this oh thank you so much you don't even know what this means to me i know what it means to you it means the world to me that you would even want it you know the only one thing if you do want it the only thing i would ask is when you get it licensed in utah if you put david's plates up on your shelf yep yep i will definitely do that that's a that's a no-brainer that's easy to do for me that car will be part of my family forever so well hopefully maybe your daughter can take her driver's test in it that would be fun some kids could go to prom in it there's a whole bunch of stuff instead we will change this oil and go get a filter and all the oil pieces parts and pieces i need sockets yeah it's big yep they had windshield wiper blades which are not the blades i'm going to put on it because they're plastic and they don't have this the chrome original stuff i'll order the right ones but these are going to get us home so obviously at this point we've worked out a deal made her offer she accepted so we're road tripping this sucker home tomorrow in the snow it should be interesting to say the least it's going to be awesome i've been hunting one of these cars basically my whole life this car kind of found me it's kind of crazy so five years since this thing was actively driven at least or maybe longer so we're going to put a fuel filter in it just to help to try to keep the carburetor from plugging up so basically when this sets the fuel will collect stuff and the tank will have little pieces fall off i'm trying to catch all that right here before it gets into the carburetor and causes us problem on our thousand mile trip home and it's been set in a while there's a chance that this fuel pump is gonna die on us so we bought a rattle pump just in case we have to we'll put it in on the side of the road somewhere tomorrow and the snow in the snow storm the ethanol free fuel saved our bacon basically so this is not used motor oil that i'm pouring in it's purple because it's royal purple and it's never let me down so why would you change from what works just a labor of life oh yeah this is going to be good but these are this trip is going to be epic i can't wait i'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight i can only imagine why a beautiful car this is better than christmas this is the day you get what you want instead of what other people thought you needed i think we got it all right we got oil change we're gonna fire it it up happy [Music] i don't see any reason it won't make it a thousand miles [Music] lights are working does it appear like the heat's gonna work i think we're gonna see it smells bad the coming out of the base everything seems to be happy there they're good they're just low [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all right now all that's left is the thousand miles between us and home i know you probably don't want to do this because emotions run high but how do you feel seeing this truck and this car go both of you have got some history with them i am looking forward to it getting finished me too and with youtube i get to watch there you go yep that's the same with me i'm looking forward to getting it finished because that's what david wanted all right so we got the truck loaded the car oil changed and i think it's ready to make it drive dill's made i own it i guess it's got a hundred and forty something thousand on them and you put them all on it they're yeah yeah that's all original so we know that like cars are like babies and you just you know you get attached to cars and so we know how important this is to take care of it yep i know you will and you guys are the perfect people to have it [Music] oh yeah i i can only imagine having a car for that long how many years have you had it well it'll be 55 in next year because he bought it in 67 so yeah and you'll be able to see it whenever you want well then we'll be able to check in on it know where it's at call you up and say hey paul how's that car going we're going to make the drive home we're going to stay overnight in a motel get up early and head out and try to beat a snow storm and thank you thank you this is awesome you know how excited i am [Applause] you know how to get here now come back anytime we will we will all right we made it to the hotel well how does she roll she's not bad the brakes are it jerks to the left or to the right pretty good and signal light doesn't work you gotta blinker it with your hand so we're good for a thousand miles no problem all right it's morning we're wandering out to the old car she's frosty this morning still hard to believe that's my car we are going to make an executive decision this morning and we are going to take these fat tires off the back and put some like this i got another set of them from her we're gonna put those on because we know we're gonna hit some snow here shortly so we're gonna get that done and then we're gonna roll out i don't think those tens are gonna be fun on a snowy road so we'll do that and roll we're loaded up heading home got the tires changed tires have changed we're ready for snow and ice and hell and sleet
