how's it going guys my name is tavaresh and in front of me is one of the most iconic cars in modern history this is a mitsubishi eclipse from the fast and the furious now unlike my orange lambo this one wasn't screen used but because of the crazy used car market really good replicas are going for like 50 grand and up and i bought this one for 500 bucks and today i'm gonna show you why you should never do that welcome everyone to a video that i never really thought i would have to make you see if you know my channel then you'll know that i take projects in various conditions and repair and modify them and make them my own sometimes to the detriment of my wallet but i don't show you guys the flip side of that and i think i'm doing you guys a disservice because there are projects that just don't take off projects like this but just so we're on the same page i want you guys to know that at the end of this episode this car is leaving my shop it's already been sold it's going to its new owner but that doesn't mean we're giving up because i don't usually close a project car door without first opening a window i hope that analogy made sense because it makes sense in my brain right now what i mean is i hope you guys understand all the reasons why i'm letting this car go and not keeping it one thing i actually do want to keep though is something you've been telling me about for i mean the past six months now and that is this my hair i used to have less of it and now i have a little bit more and i'm keeping more of it because of today's sponsor keeps that is a good segue i don't care who you are so i don't know who needs to hear this but i think it's really important that you guys know that two out of three guys will experience some form of male pattern baldness by the time they're 35. i'm 34 and i'm definitely one of those two out of three but it's really important that you do something while you still have some hair left so for the past several months i've been getting treated at home with keeps and it is super simple so first a licensed doctor will review your information online and recommend the right hair loss treatment plan for you then your treatment is shipped directly to your door every three months it's a more affordable option since keeps offers generic versions of the fda approved medications for hair loss but as always prevention is key because keeps treatments can take up to four to six months or more to start seeing results so it's really important to start acting fast that means the sooner you start the more hair you potentially can save so if you're ready to start preventing your own hair loss go to keeps.com tavarish and get 50 off your first order that's k-e-e-p-s dot com slash tavares and get 50 off it's in the link in the video description below keeps has been an awesome supporter of the channel of my builds and now my hairline so please go check it out down there so let's begin with a little bit of a distinction you see if you were to build a car like this that represents the movie car as much as possible then your car would probably fall into one of two camps number one is a replica and number two is a tribute now a replica car is something that basically takes all the correct parts and puts them into a car you have the correct gauges the correct wheels the correct hood the correct bodywork and the correct paint now those cars could fetch up to 50 grand if done right and if you want to know more about how to make those cars you can check out craig lieberman's channel or the instagram account of dom dub they know everything there is to know about making one of these cars so let me tell you why this car was so important and why it is very very popular still in the minds of a lot of car enthusiasts it's because this is a 1995 or six or seven this is a 1995 to 1999 mitsubishi eclipse and this was one of the best platforms that you can have for modifications so this in its ultimate gsx form had a two-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine and the engine is a 4g63 an awesome engine that could take like five or six hundred horsepower on stock internals and it was mated to a manual transmission with all-wheel drive i mean this was for all intents and purposes a little pocket rocket and what people would do with these cars is they would run them into the ground because they just wanted to make as much power as possible this car was super popular with enthusiasts in the late 90s and early 2000s and that's why they used them for the first two movies now this one in particular is not the top of the line but it is a gst meaning that it has the turbo engine but instead of driving all four wheels it just drives the front too so this is a front wheel drive and it is a manual so it has that going for it but unfortunately that's when things kind of fall apart for this car because this car isn't a replica it's barely even a tribute because none of the parts you see here including the paint is correct and it would take a mountain of time and effort to get these right if you don't believe me [Applause] all right so if we start with what's perhaps the most iconic part of the car the front you can already see that things are falling apart very literally the actual movie car had a body kit that was very hard to get back in the day and right now it is i hate to use the word unobtanium but it literally does not exist anymore so the body kit that they used was called a robocar body kit and i believe that during the filming of fast and furious they had to get a bunch of parts that were already discontinued because that's the only parts that they could get so imagine trying to find parts that were discontinued back in the early 2000s it's just going to be impossible but this is a fiberglass recreation and it is completely wrong i don't know what this is the nose of this is really kind of sunken in and it just makes it look like it has like a a disgusting kind of shark mouth and it it doesn't look very good also the stickers that are on this car like the sticker pack is also completely wrong i don't know what this sticker really represents but it wasn't in the movie also if we take this away you can see these amazing wheels you can see it says ff7 right here in the fast and furious font maybe they were trying to get some people to think that these are the real wheels the actual wheels are called axis sevens they were 18 inches and i believe they only made 500 sets for the entire world which makes it very easy to find especially now except for the fact that you can't find them anywhere and if you do they're going to be the wrong lug pattern so you're going to have to get them essentially welded and drilled and then you're going to have to pay upwards of 5 000 and the jury is out on whether those wheels are going to be bent or curb rashed or cracked or whatever because these were aftermarket wheels back in the early 2000s so their quality wasn't exactly the best now coming back on the side here this side skirt is actually kind of close to the one in the movie except for the fact that there's supposed to be a mesh grille right here and it's also supposed to be a little bit lower this is supposed to be molded into the car and this was just kind of painted over and then they forgot about it this just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb and i'm sure that they had all kinds of fitment issues here so this is probably the best part on the car because it only needs a little bit of modification to look sorta kind of screen accurate but the back is really where things take a turn now back here is a wing and this wing is like everything else in this car completely inaccurate the real car has an apr wing it is a dual layer wing but this i don't know what this is i mean it just looks like a really cheap it's probably an ebay wing or something and this honestly belongs in the trash because it is corroded and it's bent a little bit and it also i mean it wobbles a lot so i don't let i'm just going to leave this alone what i wanted to do is make sure that this car was as accurate as possible so it's all about the details so i got an original license plate or well i mean a recreation of the license plate that uh brian had in the movie and i thought that this would really be the piece the resistance for this car but turns out this car needs a lot more work than i thought i don't know if you can see this well but the gap here between the bumper and the light there shouldn't be a gap here and i can stick my whole like my entire hand can just i'm just this is going to get demonetized isn't it this bumper also goes down too far the angle is too steep and these holes for the reverse lights are actually supposed to be right here so that's how it was in the movie i don't even know why they tried to do it like this maybe they couldn't find any other body kit which makes sense because these body kits are hard to come by but even this is a really really poor recreation and it's missing some extra stickers but the stickers don't really matter when the bodywork is oh my that's just so bad another thing i should point out is that this car also doesn't have any sort of adjustable suspension the original movie car had adjustable coilovers and this is just riding sort of on stock suspension not to mention that the movie car also had a carbon fiber mirror that you still can get they're about 300 bucks but the mounting to that mirror is something you can't get and you have to make yourself that obviously wasn't done here we have this great memorial i'm assuming this for paul walker says remember the buster i'm sure he would really appreciate being honored in such a way but i wanted to show you what's in here because that is what separates a truly good replica from just a regular replica oh okay so the door handle is busted uh i believe that it opens on the other side maybe uh i think i locked myself out come on oh oh you just have to pull real hard and push up oh that's a that's a good smell it's really hello all right so let's go handheld because it's going to get a little bit cramped in here seats are incorrect they're actually incorrect for the car i don't know what seats these are because eclipses never came with side air bags this is definitely a newer seat from something else and it definitely looks like it's bolted in very properly i mean that that looks like quality right there it would definitely hold up in an accident also the floors do sort of kind of look like the ones from the movie you know the scene where the floor starts falling out for some reason and then it just falls off because the car is going too fast i don't know why they did that but coming in here you see that things start to get a little bit more let's just say moldy so this is one should not have turned that over hold my breath oh that's just that's great that's that's what a car looks like okay all right so this needs a new dash then you have the gauges which are not accurate to the movie then you have a shifter which is you guessed it not accurate to the movie and this shifter goes every which way it's like one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve and we have an obviously movie accurate jvc radio that probably does not work um and it's not a flip out and it's also not not attached to anything so if you're a car thief and you live in 1998 then oh boy this is a good opportunity for you now this isn't what's interesting the interesting bit is right behind me which is this so let me explain to you what's going on here because there's there's a lot let me open up the trunk also take a look at the sunroof that's um that's tetanus that's that's what tetanus looks like everyone actually before i go into the trunk i'm gonna show you what's underneath that hood because that's sort of what makes this car special and also the reason why i got this car for five hundred dollars so definitely a stock hood pull and that opens up what is actually a pretty accurate carbon fiber hood that only needs minor repair here there there and well everywhere we pull this guy up we'll see oh there's no engine now this for many people would be a problem a car that doesn't have an engine and the 4g63 engine that would go in here is actually a little bit hard to come by and it's getting more and more expensive by the day all the jdm engines the 2jz and rb and all the mitsubishi stuff is getting more expensive but thankfully the seller that offered me this car for five hundred dollars also offered me for an extra three thousand dollars this and remember to oh okay that's heavy tada it's an engine and it's uh well it's in the back of the car this is a rear engine car now this is the way i got the car and this is a supposed built engine and when i say built i mean it was probably built by somebody i don't know if it's put together properly and it doesn't really matter because if i were to do this project i would have to take everything apart and rebuild it well but it comes with a turbonetics turbo that actually has like there's no shaft play anything like that looks like a fairly new exhaust manifold i'm not sure if it has any cams or anything like that that are aftermarket but i wager that this probably makes a little bit more power than stock just because of the size of the turbo wastegate is not here probably went the same place as brian's floor pan and underneath here is actually a five-speed gearbox take a look in here there's some aftermarket coil-overs and what i mean coil-overs this is literally just a spring and a perch that you can raise and lower i don't know what the spring rates are they're probably all wrong for this car and this is just a cheap ebay kit but you put this off to the side yes yeah that's fine so we have even more springs if i wanted to open up a suspension shop just for the eclipse i would literally make dozens of dollars we have all the bolts and stuff to put this together and i'm sure that none of them are missing then we have a radiator with some aftermarket fans they're blue for her pleasure it is a stock radiator and underneath that is a clutch that is yellow which means that it could probably hold power but it's also a clutch experts clutch which is uh not known for its super huge power holding abilities so this is probably something like a stock clutch and painted yellow yeah you can actually see the overspray that they used on the clutch now i know what you guys are probably saying right now why didn't i just put the engine together and then buy all the little pieces that are necessary to put this together and then just drive a car that sort of kind of looks like the movie car well i wanted to build it better that's what this channel is about and i really don't want to have a car that is inaccurate and i don't have a car that is way too much money especially not in a 90s eclipse i mean realistically i bought this chassis for 500 bucks it would make no sense to spend another 30 or 40 thousand dollars trying to make this absolutely perfect and i was sort of on the way there and let me show you what i got before i realized that this was just burning a hole in my pocket so if you take a look over here i have a bunch of boxes and parts so i have a roof scoop because the original car had a roof scoop so that would have meant that i take off that sunroof right there and then replace it with metal or fiberglass or whatever and then put a roof scoop on it which basically acts like an air dam which makes no sense why that would be on a tuner car but i guess universal thought that was accurate then i have this guy which is very very similar to the tachometer used in the actual movie this actually had to get from germany it's a video attack and in the movie the video attack says extreme on it but this is exactly the same unit and it has the same controller that you can see in the movie right there yeah so this is on a carbon fiber piece in the movie and i believe in the movie it also only goes to 9000 rpm this one goes to 11. so this is a close enough part just because you can't find the other part anywhere and this was around 300 so the gauge here the speedometer is actually one that they still make i bought this brand new and it is close enough to the one in the movie because in the movie they had to use uh one that was analog i don't know why but the eclipse does not use an analog gauge so the only one available was a digital gauge and this has the correct readout and this was something like 150 i also have a gasket set so we have gaskets here we have engine gaskets here and then we have even more gaskets here and this just covers every gasket in the engine so i can do a full refresh but over here we got an actual new sparco steering wheel i know little bow wow would be very jealous and you can actually buy these new so this looks great and you can't go anywhere without the nitrous buttons so this is also brand new with the sparco horn right there so these were i believe another two hundred dollars now it gets to the part where it's super super super hard to find this is a set of gretty gauges that i got and these are more or less screen accurate but again they're not a hundred percent so in the movie there was a boost pressure gauge and i believe in oil temperature gauge and i have just a big set and i think i paid like 400 for all these no idea if they work but you know when you have the ability to buy all this with all the wiring you just go for it i don't know what car this went on um maybe it was a super i don't know it just maybe an rx7 it's yeah this is just 90s 90s garbage that i paid way too much for and i also got just get out of here i also got this so this is a recreation of the original robocar body kit and they call it a blitz body kit because blitz was also a little bit of a knock off of the robocar but this is a polyurethane bumper and to be honest they fit a little bit better than the fiberglass but they all come with their own issues so if you don't heat them up properly then they start to warp a little bit over here but they do conform a little bit better but just like real bumpers they can take a hit well i mean that one wasn't bolted on but you know what i mean and in the back we have that whoops ow that's actually kind of okay there we go so we have that and that should all bolt on we should be good to go except for the fact that there are no bolt holes anywhere and everything has to be custom fit and then we have to deal with those wheels which i actually did buy now the wheels that i ended up getting were not the 18s that are really sought after and they only made 500 in the world i got 19s which actually make the car look a little bit better in my opinion but again they're not accurate to the movie they're 19-inch axis 7 wheels and they cost 2 500 and if you think that's a lot to spend for wheels for a 500 car then i agree with you if you close the if that closes you can see that this is sort of reminiscent of what the graphics were on the original movie car except for the fact that they are not accurate at all the original movie car this extended out a little bit further this was a little bit more intricate and you can actually get the original sticker pack for this car and i hope you're sitting down but the stickers for this car just the stickers like the vinyl decals are 1 000 that doesn't include putting them on or anything that's just to get them made and shipped out to you they're a thousand dollars and that's all before i learned that this paint is not the right color i'm not sure how it looks to you on your screens but this is much lighter than what is actually in the movie so in the movie there's a kawasaki green paint job and this is also kawasaki green the problem is there are several shades of kawasaki green and this is the wrong one so the one in the movie was a bit darker than this it was a bit more green this is actually a bit more yellow so this car would need a complete paint job not to mention that back here we have some rust damage because of course an eclipse is going to have some rust the mitsubishi in the 90s they're very very thin skinned so this would have to be replaced but i would have to do a complete overhaul of this car and a good paint job like a good show quality paint job which i know a little bit about on the low end to do everything that this car needs as far as bodywork this would be at least fifteen thousand dollars and if you add in all the stuff i'm gonna need for the engine that's probably gonna be another two or three grand because i'd need a way to tune this car i need a way to make sure that the clutch doesn't explode or the transmission is good or there's so many question marks left in this car even after i do all the cosmetics and make it look as close to the movie as i can so at this point i have about six thousand dollars in this thing and it looks like this i have no work done on it and i'm still very very far away from getting anything movie accurate on this actual car and let me tell you it takes so much time to find anything that really resembles the original movie parts they are hard to come by and they don't exist anymore so when i was doing my orange lamborghini the fast eight lambo i came across a bunch of parts that were hard to find but they could be found and they were very expensive these are not necessarily expensive they're like maybe on the hundreds of dollar side not thousands of dollar side but they don't exist anymore they're all discontinued and it really is hard to like you have to go on japanese forums you have to find like just people randomly selling these things you have to put out feelers to everybody you know and even then it takes months and months and months which is why i got this car last year and i still haven't been able to find all the parts and this is me looking basically every day now there are two ways you can go about making this car from a platform perspective you can start with the gsx which is i believe canon for the movie i think in the script somewhere brian earl spillner or brian o'connor has a gsx which is an all-wheel drive turbo car and that's how they build it but in the actual movie when you look when he opens his hood the car is an rs so it's a naturally aspirated 2.4 liter essentially dodge neon engine and it makes somewhere like 140 horsepower it's super super slow and that's what a lot of people especially the really accurate movie replica people are doing they're doing the 420a which is the eclipse rs not the gst and not the gsx so at the end of this if i really wanted to get as much money as i could for this car and then retain as much value as i could you know since i'm spending tens of thousands of dollars on this car it wouldn't make sense for me to get a car that has 140 horsepower and does 0-60 in a weekend and i think that's the biggest problem that i didn't have my heart into it it didn't make me excited now i know you guys are probably tired of me talking about this car so let me show you what an actual good version of one of these looks like and when i say good version i mean the real deal and welcome to every car enthusiast stream well every car enthusiast that was alive when these cars were super popular these are the real screen used cars from the fast and furious but i know that i'm probably not the expert to talk about these so i'm going to talk to the owner who owns these cars what's up man what's going on this is gabriel and he has an awesome instagram channel not instagram channel instagram account called fast and furious integra correct and we just started youtube channel called the furious garage furious garage awesome so can you tell me a little bit about these because like dude i am i'm fangirling out right now i mean there's so much i didn't even notice that one over there that it's paul walker's uh yeah i mean that's that's my shirt that's that's the racer's edge lightning dude all right you got it you got to tell me about all these cars so these are all screen used cars from fast one most of them stunt cars monica is a hero car uh the integra obviously so that's that's that's monica that's so the name is what ja rule screams when he loses the race exactly because that's the girl that he loses yeah every time somebody sees somebody sees the car they're like monica monica so we decided to give the car the name monica anyways that's paul walker's stunt number two eclipse using fast one fast two um and then a museum restored it back to fast one look uh it was also used in the two fast two furious driving school video where paul walker's actually learning how to autocross in that specific car okay yeah it was painted blue then um and we have some other cars that paul walker drove in here actually the f-150 lightning we've got a heist civic back there that he drove okay so a lot of special vehicles so i'm really interested in just this one because i wanted to know what like the real car looked like as far as what parts are on it just so i know that you know i'm not finishing my project with uh with my replica but i just wanted to know what like the real one looked like so this is a real robocar body kit right i don't believe so and the reason why yeah i know so by the time this was restored by a museum parts had changed molds had changed and so they just kind of went with whatever they could grab by the time this was restored museums were just buying what they could buy molds had changed they really weren't going through and micromanaging what parts were correct and weren't so again we're tasked with having to restore this one day correctly but beyond a shadow of a doubt it is the actual car from fast and furious it's been verified i mean there's no no replicas in this collection right now so one thing that's really cool is right here whenever they make a movie they have to number the cars you can see it's etched into the glass right here so if this glass cracks like is that is that a problem it is it's a big problem like you know i would love to take these out and drive them but i'm so fearful of anything being broken like you said i mean a stupid rock chip or whatever it cracks the windshield what do you do you know i don't like to i like to preserve history not replicate it and put another windshield in and all that so yeah absolutely it becomes very fearful taking these cars out so i kind of find myself an owner but yet a curator of these cars i got to protect them at all costs so these wheels these are the axis sevens and they're 18 inches these are the attacks yeah these are super hard to find ridiculously hard to find um 19s are a little bit easier to find the the mod twos the deep dish even easier yeah but i say easy none of which are really easy to find yeah and they're still expensive yeah they're very expensive but um yeah these are the actual 18 inch i kind of feel like they should have went 19s they would have filled in the gap better i think so too but i mean 18s are probably i mean in 2001 18s were yeah that was bowling that was yeah this is the actual original roof scoop original roof the roof scoop is correct so this is like a fiberglass roof yeah it was molded you can see it's cracking in some areas which it's typical i mean oh it's also because this just acts as an air dam and you're telling me that like water gets in there water gets inside there yeah you gotta be careful of that and uh again when they were transporting these cars and doing filming they would sometimes put black tape over this just to ensure that no water debris or anything got inside there i'm wondering why they did this in the first place because it doesn't make any sense like i i don't know you know i was around modifying cars in this era right and i didn't know anybody who did a roof scoop that went to nowhere i know i know yeah a lot of this stuff is kind of kind of silly and goofy but hey you know where we're at today everybody's trying to buy these these parts and create a replica i mean i was going to create a replica myself and then i bought the real thing i never thought i'd own the real one but yeah my plans were to build a replica and i was collecting parts the wheels the the gauges this and that and it was hard to know almost a year to grab all of that stuff so absolutely you know you want to meet santa claus and then you just become sanitized exactly uh can i can i take a look inside yeah absolutely so just be very careful here so these are the original sparco seats here they are correct um but the steering wheel has been changed i believe for too fast too furious now the shift knob is the the foliage attack right the original um i believe the belts are original as well but yeah yeah these are actually those belts are discontinued you can't find those anymore uh you can actually find the seats i found some seats but you know they're always going to be in horrible horrible condition so it's just like one of these things where you have to find every part and refurbish things sometimes make them yourself i tell people when they want to build a replica start with the wheels up you can usually find the car that's not really an issue it's the wheels if you don't get the wheels right then everything that you've tried to accomplish thereafter might not mesh i don't care how well of a job you do so um if i can't find the wheels i'm not going to build it just that simple well i mean the wheels are one thing but then you have the body kit right then you have the body kit and you said that this um is not the correct side skirt exactly not the correct side skirt the mold had changed um there was a back then there was a bunch of different body kit companies replicating one another and so you had something that would become super popular and then you had companies making copies of that and selling it underneath their brand so this is kind of one of those variances where they they did something kind of goofy and unfortunately ended up on on this movie card but we are going to get the right ones if not modify these to be 100 accurate cool and also these wheels uh you can see that it was just like a fake brake disc that they put over the drums because this is an rs right right right this is an rs model none of them were turbos that none of them were gst they were all just n a engines um regular rs gs's they just put uh turbo civic noises over yeah they dubbed the noises over it yeah they were pretty genius on that it is still rocking though the the original exhaust that's the the goretti exhaust oh wow yeah so that that has not been changed in fact if you get real close you can kind of see some blue overspray and even on the exhaust but that's when they uh painted the car blue for too fast too furious so some of these little bits are still there of history so that's kind of cool cool so uh what can you tell me about this one just like a quick rundown this was a hero car so this is a stunt car and this is more for uh the driving scenes and all that stuff and the hero car is for like the really nice uh beauty shots right exactly these were rented from actual owners which fast and furious no longer does that that was only for the first movie monica here was a purpose-built show car that went to sema many many many times um and had toured the show scene well before she was in the film so she has an amazing history but yes this has the best of the best of what night late 90s early 2000s had to offer so it was probably used for close-ups beauty shots and all that but yeah she rides like a dream she is absolutely perfect 30 000 original miles on her i mean she hasn't even seen much road time but i mean for an integral that is literally new it's crazy yeah crazy new yeah and it is a real gsr it's got some pretty cool mods and all that ride's really nice and then uh i enjoy having her that's awesome and you also have uh this and that was from uh the fourth movie yeah fast four that is the 240sx that was in the race for the job scene that race next to paul walker's blue gtr vin diesel and the chevelle that did a wheelie stand in that orange and black bmw this is the car they use for all the drift racing scenes so when you see the car drifting and sliding and this and that that is the car i think they had a total of eight and only two survive because they crashed and bashed pretty much all of them so it is it is insane how badly these cars are treated yeah but i'm interested in this because this is sort of the like it's the most normal car right it's not like modif the only modification is really that sticker yeah it is one of the easiest replicas to make although this is not a replica but for 20 bucks we'll make you a uh a decal to put on your red lightning and all of a sudden you have a paul walker racer's edge well you need like the nine feet of boxes uh with the miata bumper on the top yeah it's funny because we had this packed full of boxes and we were transporting parts of the body shop for letty's 240sx so we kind of redid that scene in our own little way but it was kind of fun but yes this is paul walker's actual screen use f-150 lightning that you guys see in the first film and um and you bought it from a guy who really didn't know what he had right he was literally within two months of pulling the drivetrain out and putting it in an older ford f-100 to do a resto mod yeah and we caught it just in time and i couldn't be any happier we saved a piece of automotive cinematic history because for years people were like what happened to lightning i'm asking myself the same thing where's the lightning where's the light it hasn't popped up in the museum hasn't popped up here there and so i went down the key car list and hunted it and found it in texas and here it is today i'm so so happy we grabbed this so what i like about this whole thing is that there's a community behind these cars i mean if you love these cars just as a lot of people love these cars um if you want to build one then you know it's it's kind of i'm not going to say it's like a family but it's it's a more tight-knit community it is it is i i've met so many amazing friends through this uh venture that build replicas and all that and i i quickly realized when i took to instagram with monica here how big this really it's worldwide i mean those in germany and netherlands and this and that and it's it's amazing it really opened my eyes to how big this franchise really is and how how thick of a community it is and you also have the heist civic over there is that is that a screen used one it is so this is it's funny when we say hi civic because everybody's probably like why is it gold looks nothing like a high city well it's because it was used in a different movie i was using too fast too furious as a background car and still for whatever reason survived all the way down to the original decals from what the movie came out in 2002 i believe yeah so this is in its own time capsule so i was on the fence about what do i do i want to bring it back to black and that heist look that we all remember but paul walker drove this in the too fast too furious uh driving school video so i put an online poll and we decided to leave it alone in respect of him so but um yes this is the only remaining heist civic known to exist right here very cool and to be honest the heist civic is one of the easiest uh rust like kind of replicas you can make correct although the wheels are harder to find than anything else you can imagine yeah but the car is easier to find and like the body kits sometimes it's easier to find yeah the body kit's easy to find it's not hard to do the replica but the wheels are are really really hard to find i think you can find more access sevens than you'll ever find the axis neos which is oh yeah yeah uh what's funny is i looked through my old postings like on maxima forums and i realized that i sold a set of axis sevens in 18s like in 2006 for like two hundred dollars oh my gosh and those what are the like the actual wheels worth now oh i've seen them i've seen people try to get upwards to five thousand dollars doesn't mean they're successful at it but i think right now they'd probably be successful exactly i would say three to five thousand is is is is probably what's going to happen if you find a set for sale right now um and you can keep hunting and searching you might find something but there was only so many sets mate so really what's in existence anymore that you know people haven't already gathered you know dude thank you so much for you know just taking me around your collection and i know you have some other stuff that you want to show people i've got two more vehicles that haven't revealed yet that are going to be mind-blowing to this collection and just and just really solidify um and bring everything back to uh to fast one it's hard to explain but you guys keep watching the channel you'll find out yeah absolutely so i'm gonna link all your stuff in the video description definitely go check him out it's it's awesome just watching you uh do your stuff and honestly i mean i i really like this but it's it's a little further from my project than i i'd want to go um to get like just a quick question to get to something like this how much money would it have to take to do on a replica basis well that's a good question with all screen accurate parts screen accurate parts well tributes versus replica replica needs to be spot on you're probably looking at upwards to 30 to 50 000 to do one right and you're talking a lot if you're just starting now you're gonna you're talking probably two years of just trying to hunt parts yeah it's no guarantee you're going to find them either so it's it's an intense labor of love and people get a little lazy they want to like reach out to other people hey what do i need to build my replica there's a lot of real replica builders that aren't just giving this information out because they have gone through trying to figure that out themselves and i'm just going to give you a little template and say here you go yeah here's what you need i've spent six months looking for these parts and it's like it's it's impossible to find you have to go on all these like obscure japanese websites yes you know just trying to find these weird gritty gauges and then you know you'll find something that sort of kind of looks like it maybe you can modify this to work work this way and it's still you know and there's there's like different schools of thought as in terms of like uh whether you want a screen accurate example or one that is like the hero car which is different uh from what's on the screen so it's what the car sounded like so you could go with the turbo model if you really wanted to and not really deviate too much of what the car was but yeah yeah you got your purists and then you got your in between then you got your tribute cars there's a there's a whole array right now of what's going on absolutely it's really uh it's like with a delorean right you have you have the guy with a stock car with a flux capacitor and then you have the complete 200 000 build with every like all the time circuits all that stuff yeah absolutely um right now we are in the middle of um restoring letty's 240 sx oh yeah yeah so before the welcome to go go look at that that is over there yeah let's go check that out so this is letty's 240 sx uh this is what was this driven by michelle rodriguez this was the actual racehorse car you see michelle rodriguez racing the uh yrx-7 and yes she drove this and this is the one you see blazing down the desert this is the one she goes see ya hits nitrous boom boom gone yeah you know so fun fact uh about me uh i just didn't know how the english language worked apparently uh when she said like do you want you want an adrenaline rush or something and then she said it'll be too large you want an adrenaline rush it'll be too large she was talking about two thousand dollars right i thought she was saying t-o-o large and i'm like that's a weird way to say things he's like why would you say it like that it was all money she was talking about yeah but um yeah we are restoring the hell out of this car we have broken it down to bare shell basically just came from the paint shop had everything remolded in and is getting i mean just an amazing restoration so a lot of work to be done so if you take a look at the paint here i mean there's a lot of flake in it and i mean i know i know about restoring you know these cars we have to take them down to what what this is and it gets a little bit scary when it's here but once it starts looking like a car again that's when it starts like kind of get excited again we didn't even have the pain code for this car um in my documentation we had nothing like that so my paint and body guys had to take the gas cap and they wet sanded the orange paint off of it layer by layer by layer gently until it got purple and then we they were able to buff that and then color match that so that's how we were able to get spot on to the color of this car it was it was pretty crazy i mean this was desirable back then but i i assume that this is probably one of the most i mean when this is going to be done it'll probably be one of the most desirable 240s you know on on earth and the cool thing is is we got the sister car to this as well there was two 240s used in that so we have this one that we're restoring and then we've got other car over here and this is another car that we saved they were cutting this up to make it make it into a drift car so it's blue because it wasn't too fast too furious and still actually the original blue from that second film so we're thinking restore that back to purple and then restore this mechanically but yet keep it blue and have kind of transition of both movies you're gonna have to dent in it that was not screen accurate that's not screen accurate at all that was just like uh like that was an actual accident oh yeah exactly so yeah we will be fixing that but um yeah so lots of restorations to be done here but uh we have some amazing amazing stuff to share with the fans awesome well i'll keep them updated and dude this is an awesome collection and i am um i'm honestly glad that i'm not taking on this project but uh i know someone who will okay so this is alex and alex is buying my car well he bought it all right that i am so uh you got your u-haul there and you got your raptor which looks really really cool that's a little bit fast and furious but uh we have to now load this car up and i don't know if it rolls all that well and i'm not sure that uh we can really push it up but we're two strapping young lads i think we can do it we'll fight we'll figure it out all right so uh here goes nothing now i am a little bit i mean i i would like to kind of finish this project but you guys saw what it took and i don't feel like putting 50 000 into this car but hopefully you do don't tell my wife this does need a lot of work but you actually have a very good head start because you have a ton of parts that are uh very close if not the actual movie part and it's it's i'm not gonna lie it's gonna be a lot of work but if your heart is in it you know like like mine wasn't really uh then i think it'll it'll do well so all right let's let's get this out because i'm getting a little [Applause] is why i'm sleeping on emotional floor [Applause] all right so the car is on the u-haul trailer and i'm sort of missing it already and it's been a staple in my shop for the last six months but i'm very glad it's going to a new home and you got a youtube channel right i do it's going to be a lex garage lex garage so like like lexus or like white like ultimate dream garage from detailing to lounge lift builds is what it's going to be about okay awesome so you are going to have an awesome project on your hands and anybody that wants to see this thing done in a very very short time because you are going to devote all your working time to this right three weeks i'll have it done okay that's not true it's not true it's going to be about 30 grand and probably about a year uh hopefully goal is a couple months yeah we'll we'll see but uh definitely all your stuff will be in the link in the video description below go check him out and i dude i'm so happy that you got it uh honestly so he just texted me like he didn't text me he uh private messaged me uh about two in the morning when i said that i had this thing for sale and it was just kind of insane i said yeah i just come by tomorrow morning and it's yours and turns out he came by with with the cash and you got the car literally i think there was about an eight hour turnaround didn't tell my wife uh she had no clue she knows a little bit but she doesn't know the extent of what i just purchased well i mean she's going to be super thrilled at this super thrill because it's obviously a diamond in the roof so i think she'll see the value in it straight away see the operative word there is diamond so just say honey i got you a diamond and and that's what you showed them that it's the it's the rear or the mid-engine model that's right well it's the rear engine it's basically a porsche so yeah i gotta tell you that part of it it's a little bit exotic so yeah absolutely okay so go check him out and uh go follow this project but oh boy i am so i'm a little sweaty it is really hot outside so i said that just because i'm getting rid of one project doesn't mean that i don't have the same amount of projects in the shop and that is very true so if you guys took a look at my instagram you should definitely go check it out that's also in the link in the video description below you'll know that i bought another fast and furious car and this one was screen used and this one is actually not in the country it's in the uk and it is a lamborghini so i bought the other lamborghini murcielago and this one is in way worse shape and it doesn't have an engine it doesn't have its v12 you know that thing that makes a lamborghini lamborghini it actually has a v6 it has a jaguar v6 and it doesn't really sound right it doesn't run right it definitely doesn't look right but i think that we can solve all those problems in a relatively short amount of time because i've done it before and how hard could it be but thanks to my friend sam hard at hard up garage he definitely knocked it out of the park with that one he helped me out with getting that car and now that car is at the port in the uk and in the next few weeks it should be landing here and we're going to do an entire build on that and hopefully maybe even have it in time for sema so i'm very excited about that i'm excited that now i have some space in my shop and i'm excited that you guys now have something to look forward to other than my other unfinished projects that are going to get finished so this has been a this has been a day this has been an interesting day i learned a lot i saw a lot and i had a great day hopefully you did as well but until next time this is me reminding you guys that on cars like those out there that are totally blown out by the light but yeah that eclipse back there that you can make awesome in your own time you guys need to build them better and to do that need to wrench every day [Applause] [Music] uh
