can I survive Navy SEAL training well the answer is probably no but that's not going to stop me from trying today I'm here at the official training center for Navy SEAL and Swig in Coronado California to see if I can complete the infamous buds obstacle course are you laughing over there no this is where Navy Seals are built and swick and swick come on man today we have one Mission challenge Austin's physical and mental resilience with one goal make him quit welcome to the Navy Seal in swaco thank you things are going to get really intense today I'm ready for it if any point in time it gets too tough feel free to ring the bell and that'll mean that you quit okay thank you thanks for bringing this so close to this course of course means a lot I'll tell you what this video Hits 10 000 likes I'll come out and run through your obstacle course I think we can get this to 10 000 likes you guys please help me out let's do this and then we hug and then I carry you over there that's weird I know so out of all these obstacles which one is the toughest I would have to say the most intimidating obstacle we have on this course would have to be the slide for life because of its height but what the most people fail here on is the rope swing that small one right over there that small one huh because their grips are fatigued by that point is there any type of like danger that I should be worried about yeah you wouldn't want to fall off the top of the cargo net I could have guessed that I don't have a fear of heights though okay when you told me you're most afraid of I know just because it's hot it's uh because my grip I've said I don't want to fall if I fell it would hurt okay let's get into it we have sb1 Jake foins demonstrating and at the start the first obstacle is the parallel bars this is to challenge your upper body strength makes that look pretty easy how many times have you done this obstacle a lot like over a hundred easily over 100. the next obstacle is the low wall where it challenges an operator's ability to bound over High walls in combat the next obstacle is the high wall where it starts to challenge your grip strength and your ability to remain low as you go over obstacles next obstacle is the low crawl oh that's really low look how low that is after the little crawl we move into the cargo net this is our tallest obstacle where most people lose their grip strength the key here is to use your legs that is tall yeah after you finish the cargo net you move to the balance logs I think it's self-explanatory what it teaches balance balance okay look at that [Music] logs next obstacle we have here is the transfer rope you do this twice you do it one time one time oh and then you transfer that's why it's called the transfer rope that's why they call it that this obstacle is called the Dirty name dirty name a lot of people use a dirty name when they do it going over it yeah he made it look pretty easy next obstacle is the Weaver oh this one looks familiar the next obstacle we have here is the Burma Bridge it's designed to replicate the bridges in Burma just so much more balance prepping the mine for the most dangerous obstacle here you ever have anybody fall right here surprisingly enough next up is a slide for life oh so you're climbing up the platforms to get to the actual slide watch your head that's right and right here where you go upside down like that that technique is uh the best balls at the top that was pretty quick next obstacle is the rope swing and this is the one I was telling you it gets most people and then this must be the incline wall how'd you know it's a wall and it's an incline oh plus the sun's there too you ever get any splinters every every now and again every now and again yeah this obstacle is difficult because by the time you get here your grip is so fatigued that holding onto these little Ledges it's really difficult oh man those are small like maybe half an inch foreign the final obstacle is the bolts is the only thing that can touch the log is your hands okay so no legs no head no butt no butt and the last three you gotta say who yeah of course at the Finish touch a sign of course 50 push-ups is that something y'all really do or are you just at it is okay yeah of course so Austin after seeing us demonstrate every obstacle here today what do you think uh I think it's gonna be extremely tough especially the high obstacles and not only are you dealing with the physical barrier of being able to climb those things but the mental barrier of them being so tall uh about halfway through my heart rate will be at 180 190 probably and it's going to take it's gonna take a lot out of me so the passing time at first phase is 12 minutes and I'll make you a deal if you pass we'll invite you back for more okay 12 minutes what is your obstacle course time so my PR ever going through this during training was actually six minute 59. every time I get out here I'm usually averaging right around seven minutes 30 seconds that sounds pretty quick it's pretty quick well I'm gonna beat you today I'd like to see that let's do it all right Austin here's your shot a lot of men who have done this office of course have gone on to do great things for their country ready to go yes sir let's get to it stand by bust them [Music] [Music] drive to the legs stay low stay low over dead hang on the on the rope and then slide down there you go easy now there you go you gotta squeeze through it's gonna get caught on your uh on your belt [Music] it's gonna be a cotton your belt make sure you hit it over your belt there you go you're good my Booty's too big there you go slow and steady a lot of leg Drive foreign keep it moving [Music] it's just all in your head right here I love that because you know you're alive nice and smooth you're at three minutes and 30 seconds [Music] good [Music] y'all logs keep it moving let's go brother big bound here there you go dirty name keep it family friendly family friendly all confidence here let's go get over there you go hey you're right about the heart rate yeah spiking right now let's breathe through it gave him moving five minutes you got it push through brother all technique based [Music] um keep that body close foreign nice work nice job dig deep Ah that's a technique right there you go come on get up I probably made that a lot harder than what it should have been I like to step on those big knots just take big strides look to the end so you sort of just let your hands Glide along the top and just step to the knots hand over hand get a good bite here ah there you go 8 30. keep it moving nice nice little technique tall guys that's all guys got it made that's all guys got it don't discredit me I like the short King flip oh push through man you have to dig deep come on brother you got it let's go put out brother halfway there don't give up now think you're gonna make it oh stop brother at this point his forearms are probably toasted everything going through his mind right now is let go this requires a lot of mental toughness especially these last 10 feet it's just a matter of putting out and not giving up right through those mental barriers this is the separation my boy it takes a lot of Souls you got to attack it man gotta be really aggressive you get three attempts you rather can't even grab that rope my hands are destroyed keep your hands at chin level chin level run through stand up three times to fail [Music] keep going though you gotta finish this finish when you started you gotta Sprint through too it's fresh there it is nice job just feel the lactic acid build up in his forearms ah it's gonna be real tough on that spider wall you're on the home stretch you got a splinter no knees high high knees home stretch you got this oh that doesn't feel good Shake It Out a lot of feet flat feet on the wall it forward and then you can step up with your right there you go keep your body close hips close to the wall don't look down this does require a lot of grip strength but she's burnt a lot of it on the first half of this course not supposed to hold the top of it there oh drag that right foot hand first hand first slide it down hand First grab the and slide that you're right brother yeah I'm good dude the forearms could not hold up you want to give it another shot do it again let me show you some technique on it the technique is I feel like I had the technique but my forearms oh like a shimmy yeah you can shimmy or do the step over see how he takes his foot and slides it down yeah looks like flat foot on it and then staying really close to the wall too you ready to quit no I'm gonna give it another shot I think you're gonna get it thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] this is where you gotta dig deep you got to overcome everything that's saying no in your head saying my forearms hurt [Music] there you go that's it keep your shoulders and hips close to the wall reach down with your hand push down with your hand first slide that foot bam there it is nice recovery there you go let's go last one [Music] touch your foot on the platform and Hop Off see everything you got full Sprint finish it out strong let's go foreign of course Booyah of course die oh God how you feeling like right here's gonna explode it's a put out Evolution huh it is probably the toughest thing I've done in a long time what do you think you think you passed no well your time was 1943. not bad for your first time first time not bad my forearms just got so full of blood and lactic acid it's hard to move them right this here is just a small part of what we do it's just a fraction of what you'll face in real Combat and in buds you're going to be doing this while
