hey guys dev here and welcome to my frost res resistance guide for hydros inside ssc so this is the first of two videos looking at the resistance set and this one's for the frost side of things i'm starting with the frost reset as that's what i've been tasked to tank in for this encounter and a lot of that comes down to the fact that i'm a dwarf so dwarfs get a bonus 10 frost resistance and that frees our legs slot up for a different enchant which in my case is going to give me an extra 500 ish health once the nature resistance video is done i'll pop it in the corner in a card whichever corner it is so you can click through to that one to watch the nature res and it'll also be down below in the description if you haven't done already make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss that one and this video includes sets for both warrior and paladin let's get into the gear so we're gonna wear ice guard helm on our head this gives 50 frost resistance as well as 64 stamina for the materials we're going to need eight korean bars 12 primal waters 12 primal fires and the crafter is going to need one primal nether the plans for the ice guard set are all sold by korean and he's in the stables you're going to need honored to purchase the pattern and then 375 blacksmithing to learn it and all these pieces of boe so you can look to your guild blacksmith to make these for you for the chess piece you're going to wear ice guard breastplate this gives 60 frost resistance 49 stamina and 10 defense rating it requires the same mats as the helm so it's 8 korean bars twelve waters twelve fires and another nether and the pattern is also sold by corian for the legs again another piece of ice guard gear this is the last piece of ice guard gear you're going to need so 60 frost resistance on the legs 55 stamina but no other stats exactly the same mats again exactly the same pattern location so those three pieces are really high value pieces they're going to make up a great deal of the frost resistance that you need to wear the other pieces we're going to use is some jewelry so we have the pendant of thoring in the next slot this gives 30 frost resistance 18 stamina this also comes with an interesting effect so it's got 10 charges and the charges are going to absorb 900 to 2700 frost damage on all nearby party members for five minutes this is just a nice little extra boost when you first get the the neck eventually it will run out of charges so you can either make another one i don't really think that's worth it but while you're learning the fight you do have this little boost on the on use effect so quite nice for the materials you're going to need two fell steel bars six primal fires four primal waters and one mercurial adamantite the other piece you're going to want to get is the frozen eye this is going to give 12 stamina 35 frost resistance it's a ring and for the materials you're going to need four mercurial adamantite two corian bars six primal waters six primal fires the pattern for this one is sold just outside karazhan by apprentice darius your jaw craft is going to need honored to purchase it and you're going to need 375 dual crafting to learn it so to round out the set now one of the biggest frost resistance value pieces you can get is the glacial cloak so this is 24 frost resistance and a lot of alliance paladins are already going to have one of these left over from nex so to craft this you need five frozen runes these come from noxramus but they're very easy if you have a stealth class to go in with some word of thorings and farm them i know at least on my server there's still a lot of next runs going so a lot of frozen runes are still getting dropped onto the auction house also a lot of guild banks have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of these left over so if you if you are hordeside this might be slightly harder to get your hands on but i did have a look and they are being sold on the auction house the average amount according to nexus up is 175 gold so even if you don't know somebody that can craft one of these for you you should be able to find one on your auction house the pattern is taught by master craftsman omarion inside nextromus and this requires exalted reputation and it also requires you to actually get in and clear some trash out of next so you really want to try find somebody that did play through classic and already has this pattern get them to make it for you and it shouldn't be too expensive at all to hit cap it's really important that we enchant the gear correctly so we're going to go for the keepers of time enchant this is 20 frost res on your head um obviously the head is already got the frustrates on so this doesn't clash with any of the pieces that you're using for the cloak enchant you're going to want to put major resistance onto your next cloak this is quite expensive so if you're really struggling for gold you can drop this down to five there's another enchant that's much much cheaper that gives five to all however if you do do that you will be slightly below cap here's the mats for the cloak enchants so quite a few primals 16 in total so really inexpensive enchant but if you want to be the best you've got to go all in okay the last enchant we need to talk to so if you're a dwarf you can skip over this one and use one of the tanking leg intents from leather workers instead which can give you up to an extra 40 stamina and that's why i do advise that if you're a dwarf you opt in to be the frost dress tank for your guild so if you're not a dwarf you're going to want to get the ice guard and this comes from a turn-in quest at light's hope chapel you'll need to cut turn in a bunch of materials to get some tokens and then turn those tokens in to get the ice guard if that sounds like too much work for you the other option is to use a frost armor kit so the frost armor kit is two less and will leave you ever so slightly below cap but you can probably get away with this if you're in a hurry or you don't have a massive amount of gold okay so if you do get all these items you're gonna get 50 resistance from the helm 60 from the breastplate 60 from the legs 30 from the neck 24 from the cloak 35 from the ring 20 from the helmet chant seven from the cloak 10 from the ice guard enchant or your dwarf racial if you are a dwarf 70 from the frost res aura bringing you to a grand total of 366 of course the cap is 365 so this puts you one point over the cap which is about as accurate as i can make it without wasting any stat budget anything over 365 is completely wasted and will not give you any extra additional damage reduction and i've compiled a shopping list here for you guys if you're going to go out and buy this yourself this includes two felt steel bars 26 korean buyers 50 primal waters 52 primal fires 52 primal earths four primal uh five mercurial adamantite four greater planial essences and then your crafter will also need three primal nethers so for raw gold you'll need 115 gold for the enchants from the vendors you'll also need 174 gold if you're buying a glacial cloak from the auction house that's on average across all servers obviously if you're getting that made that would be slightly cheaper you can also save a lot of money by instead of buying a fel steel bar buy the components of the fel steel get somebody to smelt it for you the same goes for the carium as well and if you can get the transmutes for the mercurial atomic done as well it's obviously going to save you a bit of money overall it comes to a grand total buying these maps from the auction house if you're on eu expect to spend somewhere in the realm of 3.3 k and n a 2.4 k okay so just to conclude this is quite an expensive set and you want to get started on this as early as possible now i have heard about guilds expecting tanks to fund this themselves and i don't really think that's fair so i believe that the intended design by blizzard was to move the resistance sets from the raid onto the tanks tanks for the most part also have a much harder time world farming than dps players do so if you're expecting your tank to go out there and farm 52 primal fires on top of this massive list of other things that they're going to need that's pretty rough for the tanks so what we've opted to do in my guild is collect the floor loot from cara so that's all the unwanted greens trash drops blues and disenchanted shards sell them off in the auction house that raises about 500 g a week we've been doing that since the beginning of bc and then we're spending that money to buy the resistance sets so my girl we actually have two 25-man teams so we've had to buy this twice over for our plate tanks we also need druid off tanks as well to have a little bit a little mix of gear so that'll be the third video in this series so if you are a drood player i will be making a guide for you guys as well um this is for the warriors and the paladins the plate tanks hope you enjoyed the video guys i hope this sets you on a good path to success in ssc i'll be trying to get some boss guides out as well so feel free to hit that sub button guys it helps so so much and i'll see you all in the next one you
