[Music] i just got to the hybrid warehouse this one is known as the fantasy factory we're in miami for three days we're gonna shoot some content some informative content some fun content uh hang out with some good weather eats and good food and around some awesome people three big days today is going to be all training content we're gonna be focusing on getting some good information out to all the hard work pays off athletes um so we're filming a bunch of educational content for them and then thursday is all nutrition and lifestyle content up at the beef castle aka stefan hayden's house have you given the handle on this one i kind of liked it you have to have good grip strength to get it this all sort of came together when um matt was in town i think maybe for watapalooza one year and reached it to steffy for those who don't know steffy she's got 25 uh all-time world records and powerlifting she's like she's the first female to deadlift over four times body weight so he wanted to pick up some deadlift tips from the deadlift goat he came into hybrid and uh we ran him through like a whole sort of that looks how to kind of became friends from there and stayed in touch ever since and we had just kind of been working on building this app and it just seemed like that everything was kind of moving in the right direction for a collaboration so figured out how we were going to do that and yeah the timing was just was perfect so we're heading over to the app developers office to meet that whole crew that have been working day and night for a week to make sure the app went off and then you know fixing any bugs or just getting feedback to the people that are signed up and then we're going over to the hybrid gym and get a workout in i don't know they have a boxing ring there too man i'm gonna hop in that boxing ring hmm again stephanie no josh bridges [Music] sometimes we find weird little bugs where like it doesn't work in safari for x y for c reason or i explore 11 doesn't it doesn't support this random thing but everything seems to be working pretty well and we've gotten a lot of good feedback on the site we're building a home page for them to have like a main dashboard that will give them all the critical information they need about where they are in the experience and program right now and then also adding that content tab that you mentioned so these guys are making that come to life i mean it's just wild it's just like a world that like how often do you walk into a room and there's just computers all around with code and it's like i can't even relate to it you know i took a programming class like 10 years ago and then haven't even looked at it since so it's just wild and like they understand that language like they can see it and they get it you know um but yeah i mean it was just cool getting to put faces of the names that i've like been hearing about these guys that are working around the clock because the app just launched the program just launched so there's going to be things that you know none of us saw coming but we're able to just call them back hey this needs to be fixed they're like yup got it and they just done so yeah it's pretty cool [Music] bicep this is kind of like mid-range a fully lengthened bicep is when your triceps fully extended and your triceps fully extended your bicep's back here yeah so this is training the bicep to fully lengthen mid-range and then fully shortened is when your bicep or when your tricep is fully naked so think how am i stretching my tricep did it fully lengthen yeah this this is where my bicep is fully shortened so it's like a part of hypertrophy you're like building muscle it's training muscles through like all those ranges so this for example is training the chest at a fully lengthened like you're saying you're feeling here because you're used to training like pressing pressing pressing only mid-range that's only mid-range so this is fully lengthened it almost be like mid-range like say 80 percent of the muscle and this is like the 10 you're not getting with the lengthen position and the shortened position is like that other 10 we were talking to about tension so like building muscles like creating tension across the fibers so if we're doing like someone might be trying to build their shoulders they're like i'm doing all these lateral raises i'm trying to get like that lateral head on the delt but it's like if you're doing dumbbell and there's no tension from here to here with a dumbbell uh go to a cable you're getting the tension you know right right from the get-go and then if you're understanding resistance profiles of like you might only be training mid-range at the shoulder like you're missing that other shortened position that lengthen position the more you know [Music] i need it actually that might be modest i do want to get the new a new iphone the camera difference just because of the camera it does work you know yeah isn't it great that you can like just run your life dude it would ruin my life to lose this thing like if it hadn't been backed up for like a couple months myself if i lost this uh just some revisions of the app and hearing the feedback from some of the people of like they're just reading it through a different set of eyes you know for workout descriptions we're just trying to put in more useful helpful notes for each movement workout macbook's from 2015. it's a spiral notebook from college but i don't know we're figuring it out like we are great okay right now we're going over nutrition stuff because i've been working with hybrid on how to eat like a proper human being for the last couple weeks um yeah so i think we're starting off kind of a q a on how my nutrition has changed from when i was competing to now for just being healthy [Music] uh you know he would just eat whatever he could snickers bar like he even told me like during our interview like he would have sticker bars and gatorade at post workout which is great but those are the things you can eat when you're not training as aggressively or as intensely or the durations that he is now um like you would just wake up in the middle or like late at night if you was feeling hungry you'd put a bunch of chicken tenders in the freezer in the in the oven and have adam uh he was just eating whatever he wanted when he wanted because he could get away with it and those habits would carry on when he wasn't competing for training for the games so trying to get him to get away from that and kind of focus on some of the fundamental things like having protein at every meal uh you know trying to have fruits and vegetables uh you know most of the most throughout the day at each of those meals as well or just having like any concept of portion sizes and listening to his internal cues instead of just going through external cues like oh you know i have training i have to eat or i have training tomorrow i have to eat or i have training later in the day i have to eat or hey there's the fridge right there i or i i want to eat or if i'm watching tv i watch tv and i eat you know getting away from those external cues and finally listening to what his body's telling him because he no longer has to eat so much and get away from us into his hunger you know it's been a i think it's been a really good learning experience for him and it's going to be you know another big challenge i wouldn't say it's as difficult as winning the games but you know when you're just told what to do for so long to kind of just do as you you know on your own just do things as you should based off your own judgment and how you're feeling it can be difficult for for a lot of people and i think that's something he is going to struggle with uh just having a lack of direction for you know like lack of a better term [Music] hey and i are gonna have a cookoff um and like i had to have a talk with sammy about like what am i going to cook and the i got a couple things up my sleeve in terms of like good recipes but they're back from when i was like 16 17 years old that was the last time i like actually cooked food so i'm just reverting back to like my favorite meals when i was 16 years old so we're gonna see how that flies four mil corn beef this is what i'm gonna win the cooking challenge with fry this until it's nice and crispy a little bit burnt and you smother it in ketchup [Music] heinz 57 only also i used to salt my steak before putting it into the pan and then gordon ramsay yelled at somebody for that so i don't do that [Music] i'm using the stick [Music] i know which one's gonna taste better [Music] see i think hayden went from more of a play to the judges because he knows what his approach is but they're all healthy of course i went a different route i went more cheese is more delicious and corned beef hash of a can is better than any homemade hash you can make all right judges i prefer prepared for you today chorizo sausage ribeye steaks where those ribeye in new york new york steaks eggs over easy got a little fancy with the flip there we lost one of them we lost one of them but you know you get the point there this is my breakfast delicacy this is a peanut butter and butter bagel if you've never had that it's gonna change your life so enjoy all right judges i made for you ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel toasted everything's fried and then hormel corned beef hash nice and crispy with ketchup now your presentation is very simple i like it it's clean i feel like i'm eating at home i feel like i'm eating at the michelin star restaurant there's a lot of pressure for me to really pretend like i'm enjoying this it's definitely steak well the contestant is eating the other contestants food now i don't know himself that's how good mine is because i'm on a no carb thing hayden you know this i'm not sure what meat is actually in the can this came out of a can you lose some points for that hey your presentation was great thank you but i didn't like that i had to choose how much i had to eat and how to put it together on my plate matt i really liked how it was put together i didn't have to make any decisions i just knew this is what i was supposed to eat hey they give yours seven out of ten okay so matt respectful score i don't really know what kind of meat that is you said it came out of a can i've never had hash but it was good delicious eight out of ten the bagel was fantastic egg was cooked perfect i think i'll do the same seven out of ten eight out of ten well i would like to distribute mystery meat for the win i accept my loss i accept my loss but i object to the having to make decisions about portion sizes because you did the same thing there and cut your bagels into place we'll see we'll see how we're feeling once we get warmed up because i am sunburned all over uh i know i'm gonna do flight simulator and i know keith and i are going to do you go i go uh tabata on the assault bike three times through the whole thing and then i might squat i don't know but that's we'll see what happens at one point early in his career was like the only thing that matt ever like struggled with or had like a little slip up here and there with and you know like anything that he felt weak at he attacked it and so he did flight simulator like every day for months uh probably i don't know three four or five months in a row he would like either warm up or like finish his workouts with flight simulator and if anybody knows what that's like i don't know what is it like 450 double on this oh yeah so 5 10 15 20 to 50 and then back down yeah unbroken so if you break you have to uh like there's all different ways like if you break you have to start either that set over or some people even say you have to start the whole thing over so he yeah that's how he got comfortable with double under [Music] everything hurts i have lactic acid in spots i didn't think you could have it it's in my neck what did i do with my neck so i hit the first round really hard that bad move but i think i pushed him because of it he was a little nervous my first round i was close to him but he was pacing and i wasn't he's still leaving but it also made him go faster those things too we teach him how to be fit for life he's still winning [Music] go [Music] oh there we go how long are your rounds two minutes for the bare knuckle oh okay before i was doing five minute rounds i've seen with mma but with a bare knuckle boxing it's only two minutes how many
