[Music] [Music] [Music] do hello friends welcome back to my channel my name is melody and welcome to my simple valley home i am so excited for this video you guys are in for a real treat i'm taking you guys to my favorite antique place it's called vintage junction la it's located here in southern california it's owned by a lady named judy i found her through instagram she is such a sweetheart she has a open heart when it comes to junking or picking she goes to a state sale she finds items and she sells it to the public she also has really fun yard sales during the summer time but but during the pandemic obviously it stopped but if you guys are here in southern california this place is the place to go is for antiquing it has everything from mid-city modern down to your traditional antiques anyways there's three warehouses i'm hoping to go into two of them it's more like a vip area hopefully julie will take it us into them as well i'm looking for some items more vintage mirrors some spring decor and also i'm looking for a medicine cabinet for my guest bathroom i'll link her information in the description box down below along with her hours so if you guys enjoy any type of on the outside now this area is awesome this is actually one of my favorite areas i actually got most of my garden decor from here or my garden junk i like to call it if you guys have seen my fall gardening video you will know that this is this place where i got everything 90 of my items in my backyard are from here so she has this warehouse that we're going to go into this is her antique warehouse and then over here is another fun warehouse that she has that is our like little vip area and she also has one that's inside so i'm going to take you guys around and just kind of show you my fun favorite picks including some items that i'm looking for you guys are in for a real treat i know i keep saying that but it is the truth this place is awesome now what i love about judy is that she collects everything from um you know just pottery all the way down to your fun ordinary you know like let's say these farm steaks i mean and shovels and old vintage shovels and it just goes on and on and on back there as far as ladders go and anything you can possibly think of to remodel your home such as vintage doors i mean look at this you would not find this in southern california you would maybe find this in like colorado or even from the midwest which is on from and it just goes on and on as far as chunks so let's go up here and i'm gonna show you just a little sneak peek of all these fun finds and you know you have to have a vision when you come here she has an organization um as far as everything but you know what i love about her is that she takes items that people would probably throw away but people like me are very like you know you know creative when it comes to taking a piece of junk and turn it into treasure and that's what i love about her because she's the same way she saves antique pieces that people would mainly throw out and you know i admire that about her so much now if you guys need pottery like anything you know how hard it is to find things that are aged you know you go to home depot and you're like god i wish i could find pottery that was aged and used judy has it she has i buy all my pots from her in fact i think i cleaned her out and i also bought these beautiful galvanized buckets and i make anything involving my plants for it and she has tons and tons and tons of different watering cans and also look how fun would these be you could totally paint that and cut it out and make it into a janica lantern um she just has everything i i mean i'm just so blown away by how many like it literally is a picker's dream and you know it's just so much things that you can get creative like look old fences and old box springs here you could totally use that in your garden if you guys are like me and then just love those old vintage touches you i mean she has iron beds a down to look at this old vintage cooler this is so cool i also bought my wagon um was it my wagon here i filled it up with all my fall decor plants and stuff and i'm planning on doing some for spring and summer and you know what i love about her is that her prices are perfect they're not terribly expensive they're just right and she's very good about you know helping people when it comes to their ideas if you are like hey i'm looking for this item 99 of the time she has it i just want to point these out oh my gosh how cute would this be to me for your mailbox or even to hang like a lantern on it in your garden or even um just anything involving like a sign that welcome sign in your entryway how cute would that be okay let's go inside and take it all in because there's a lot to see and she even has i mean just everything oh my goodness [Music] now what i love about vintage junction la is that they have every kind of item i almost got this from my husband's workshop i love that it already has electrical work it's just a really cool green and you can even turn it into something for your garden and just put some shelves in the back [Music] i love all her tables that she has in this space i can never get enough of them this would make a really cool island if you were able to put like a really cool quartz countertop on it and it also could remain like a really neat table and like a pantry even [Music] this piece is really cool it reminds me a lot of restoration hardware you could put your tv on here you could even put a really cool oil painting as decorative art in your living room [Music] i almost got these beautiful green cabinets from my laundry room but unfortunately they were too tall but someone will take these i hope because they are such great quality [Music] if you are new to my channel welcome again my name is melody i'm so happy to have you here i do a lot of farmhouse decorating i do some gardening cooking and of course lots of thrifting on my channel [Music] anytime i come to judy's store i always have to rummage through this hallway i love all the different types of paintings that this space brings so much landscaping florals any type of mirrors in this space as well it just i can never get enough of how many different items that she always has hung on these walls [Music] this oil painting was my favorite and for 125 dollars i think that's such a great price for a beautiful piece of artwork okay she's gonna show me the cutest little pantry sign oh my gosh you guys are oh wow oh it's actually kind of it's a little party but actually oh it's green yes see this is what i love about them they always cater to what our needs oh that's pretty but you know i think i'll take the other one because they kind of match but that general store science it's really pretty oh my goodness yes so let's take in this back room look how cute this idea is guys if you take an old frame and string some wire and put some pictures on they have clawfoot tubs cute oh this is cute for spring oh yeah you guys have all the spring stuff out right now yes that's what i came here for to get some ideas for spring i love that oh look at those cute aprons oh that piece is to die wow i love your cloches that's cute okay i'm taking that trick or treat sign even though it's not spring i'm gonna take it for halloween and hang that on my porch oh that's you guys are just the best i swear and i also told them that you guys had tons of iron stone which is so hard to find right we have iron stone uh we have the what are these called i keep these are hidden instagram like all over right so these are um french and english advertising yeah pieces so these are for example the the dijon mustards that we have a variety of those pieces they're great just for decor yeah i'm going to have to buy a couple pieces because they're hard to find this chicken is adorable too and then we have some additional pieces that just came in i got a shipment not well actually this last week from england so all of these are wow yeah so we have these are so hard to find even on etsy they sell like oh my god like arm and a leg this piece is a a very large dundee it is a vintage piece it's an exquisite example of something that was once buried and is now being repurposed in homes all over the world actually all over the world isn't it very it's very you said it was french right so there's english and french yeah so we have some a lot of these are english pieces that i have in the other showroom as you know we have multiple showrooms there are some french pieces pieces us as well yeah and i was telling my viewers also that you guys have everything from mid-century modern all the way down to rare antiques absolutely everything you could possibly think of 90 of the time i said 99 of the time you guys have it and um the instagram page you can always reach out and um if you guys are looking for a certain piece you know she'll she'll send you some pictures and hold it for you and tell you guys to come out absolutely and we do ship you do ship absolutely so we do ship we work with our customers uh you know all decor for your outdoor needs lots of pottery of course and really cool vintage details for your patio my favorite piece back here were these two serving trays i absolutely love them you can just set a really cool serving platter on it and then use it for your next barbecue and it just gives you some heightened dimension on your table [Music] now let's head on to the next section of this warehouse this space has a lot more mid-century modern pieces along with early american detail furniture okay i have to tell you guys if i had a big enough well space i would take this beautiful cabinet i changed the blue though but it is stunning look at all this milk glass oh my goodness wow [Music] beautiful [Music] what i love is she has vintage tools here and i have to show you sometimes etsy over prices like this item would probably be 30 on etsy so she does such a good job on pricing these wooden handles are really hard to find at least out here in california [Music] this little section has given me a lot of spring vibes i have lots of ideas to be using these flower frogs and also these blue mason jars in my next spring home tour lots of beautiful items in this space all this milk glass guys oh my gosh it's always so hard to find the plates look at that and she also sells a lot of her things in sets which is what i appreciate some people just sell it individually she will sell most of her doses and sets which is very nice and i like that because you know it's you know deserves to be in a set like a home [Music] [Music] you know how guys people are always trying to find these i forgot what they're called but i've seen them all the time on um instagram it's rare maybe it's not these but they're like that bone handle those are hard to find she probably has them [Music] do [Music] okay next room and this room is a little bit more i feel like more antique like there's some really really old things like look at that sign how cool is that love that she has a lot of old vintage mirrors and auntie pieces um look how i love how she displays things like it's your home like i would never be like okay let's use this as a coffee table but and look at look look how hard these are fine these are find in farmhouses and they're really hard to find in she has rugs too these old tents perfect for stacking in your kitchen during the holiday season look at these lanterns really old [Music] the dishes that i was almost thinking about getting because my mother-in-law has this tablecloth that has this pattern and it is stunning and it comes in a set i was this close to getting them there's little teacups but i just don't have the space aren't they beautiful oh my goodness [Music] do oh look how cute that is you swap out the lampshade that would make a really pretty lamp i love that i wanted to let you guys know before we take the last bit of the tour with judy and the warehouses i found a lot of fun thrift goodies here i will be showing you guys in my next video and going over my ideas that i will be using them in springtime so stay tuned for that next video [Music] every time i see this fireplace i want to take it home with me and put it in my master bedroom of course my husband would kill me because it would over take the whole room [Music] this vintage mirror is stunning i've never seen in here before i just love the detail it is exquisite i love everything about it it's very vintage inspired it will look beautiful in a bathroom a vanity area or even over a bed in a guest bedroom [Music] gorgeous we are going into the room of many rooms i'm like asking her do you have any more of these and she's like uh yeah we do judy i i've i don't see how you don't want to take any of this stuff home i bet you it was probably super hard oh my gosh i have this i don't have to take it home but i know i have a few more brooms down here oh okay just the pick of the litter yeah but look at all your scales and everything i you know i bet you you're home you're always probably rotating decor right because you can you could always rotate decor right because you can't i don't you don't i don't i i i have enough to do here and have you i've posted my home yeah time to time do you mind if i post it on instagram your beautiful house oh my gosh it's a dream and i would say if if i was anything uh it would be more victorian yeah that's what i've kind of furnished the the house with and oh my gosh um but i love all this yeah i i i think everyone loves songs i love to to the whisper rooms i usually have a board with three hanging on it uh-huh uh someone could put up that's what i'm planning on i that's why i want the peg rack so i can do that display my pantry [Music] as you can see from the boxes up there that i've put away um i haven't seen some of those things for 20 years oh i have as much fun well what i was telling the viewers is that you um you go to estate sales everywhere everyone else goes garage sales estate sales and then uh many people will call me they want to have an estate sale but they don't have enough for an estate sale and so um i do i just do a buy out largely they are elderly that are going to assisted living and have a house full of things and a lot of it is very donatable stuff so i tell them what i'll buy and um and then um i promise them that the house will be broom clean when i leave so they don't have to dispose there's also a lot of trash clean out yeah and then i see that they get the donation receipt and um it's a it's just a good feeling for them to have that done yes and out of their hands i would love that families would do that for them but often they don't live in the area or they're not interested or you know they work and uh they just don't know what to do themselves so that's where i come in so so maybe i'll buy five or six pieces of furniture at a time and uh that's how that's how it grew that's awesome you know an estate sale is a transition of a lifetime of belongings into another lifetime to belong and for someone elderly who has worked their whole life and kept their things nice it gives them the sense of comfort that it's not just going in the trash that it's worth something and i think you honor them by making sure that some things move on and other things get donated and other things do need to be thrown away and they they laugh at that they oh yeah i don't know why i kept it all this time but um old pillows that are so flat and noise but they put them away because somebody might need a pillow so for a while silver was really out of style and nobody wanted it well now there's a new generation that wants a few pieces yeah i have i have these trays right here now what i do with the tray i'll take one down and show you i cut a piece of wood so it becomes a platform and then i i'll often glue a mirror in there or or decorate around the edge a little bit so it's a plateau yeah instead of yeah for your um for the bathroom or a vanity or that's a good idea so i've uh i think it was a few years ago flea market magazine was doing it was showing them with uh the round ones with a mirror uh-huh and i thought oh you guys are way behind me do you remember when i told you if you guys are looking for a certain piece 99 she has it well here you go she is a rare of all fines when it comes to collecting i love all these vintage items so many things that you guys can turn into treasure love every bit of it [Music] yeah i know i remember seeing you had a lot of crates a lot of suitcases these are absolutely stunning right here especially the high back ones are very rare to find i don't know where you would find those in well in pasadena there's a lot of vintage um items you know like houses and stuff like that but yeah if you guys need suitcases come to judy she has them yeah this is just she has another warehouse that i'll take you guys through but and that's the i wasn't that the chair warehouse all the chairs yeah you had lots of dinettes and chairs but that's good though because people don't have been over to the other side yet yes we're going to go over to the other margarita machine oh and we'll play musical chairs oh my god as soon as we can do that again no but i loved it because you had sets you know everyone just has one chair you have sets and i love that that you try to and look at these cute little armors and everything and i remember you always had lockers too always had lockers the bowling ball this was an accident i i had some and then all of a sudden we'd laugh about having your own bowling ball and bag and shoes and shirts and all that and pretty soon people would come you know i didn't come to shop i just wanted to give you a bowling ball and so look at the bowling balls oh the bowling bag so what i do now i don't have any right now but some um i'll paint and then i made a um look over here i made a a tripod that they fit in in the garden and yeah i've glued mirror pieces on them okay yeah so like a sphere yeah makeshift sphere done that kind of thing uh i welded that little tripod together to hold them and that worked pretty good we're going to the other warehouse people love the building oh this is 1934 so it's pre-war 1934 pre-war building 1937. i love this build it even has the original glass so neat and how did you find this place judy um our business was just down the street uh and when uh the government came along and wanted to build the overpass uh our property was right in the middle of it and so uh we had to start looking and the realtor that we knew said i think i know where there's a building so we came down here and bought this and unbelievable look at the brick on this and it's we've done all the upgrades besides making that there's no lead paint that's what i was just going to ask you is there lead paint paint we've done all the mitigation for the different uh phases and that's all done and uh so now uh i hope to this room would be for events or party rental or um oh that would be cool so as you can see i have some organizing to do here oh no you're fine you know honestly as long as you know where everything's at i think that's all that matters i i sort of do yeah but i um love that you have every kind of chair that you can think of and what i was telling the viewers is that even though this stuff is like this you take the time to clean it up before you put it on the showroom so it's it's like yeah we really do try to so something sell right out of here so yeah we get the dust and all yeah well there you go and you have venture trucks i have people call me would you want to buy this old organ i think you think anyone's going to buy that we're going to have you but i take every old organ and piano i can find that's awesome i have i have a goal i think the rope beds these are rope beds 1800 rope beds in here guys 1800 rope beds i mean what's the oldest find that you've ever found oh i've got it up there um late 16 early 1700s oh my god it's a beautiful beautiful notebook of a young woman she died i think when she was nine but the work and the writing that she does just incredible i'll show it to you 18. and i do have a a metal helmet up there um we think could date back to the crusades oh my gosh um it's quite unusual i do there's there's a little dresser up there that my client brought back from china it was in a brothel in china and when you see the reverse paintings oh it's a little risque no that but they're the madames it's not risque at all actually they're very beautiful but it was from a brothel yeah neat and then there's probably things that i have sold that i didn't look closely enough or investigate enough and could have been worth thousands of dollars oh no you just can't know everything yeah so i don't worry about it i don't think you have to when you have this much stuff that you have to attend to [Music] oh yeah and you i remember you always have barn wood for people they like to make signs and you have it for them which is neat and look at all the old lamps and these are all the old doors so if you guys are ooh wait until he's done if you guys are in southern california and you're remodeling a home and you need an old vintage door come to judy she will have it that's exactly who comes here remodeling and looking for vintage shorts that's good yeah these are neat [Music] i bought an estate and not i mean i i knew what some things that were there but some things that weren't but here is what year was this again sorry i'm gonna get that for you here um [Music] young girls as early as five were taught uh the needlework yeah and they usually have them do a sampler yes i remember they're called samplers samplers yeah it's a very primitive item yeah very primitive so it is or well melissa ann and her last name was wheeler uh started this and um just look at the handwriting on some of these yeah we don't at least find this see if i can find where that was a lock of her hair oh my gosh um and where did you find this like a person's i bought i um bought an estate and the family had been through everything and i took all the boxes and this was furniture and everything else and here was this uh so i was delete delighted but for melissa ann wheeler um she has passed away and people wrote notes to the family look at this beautiful handwriting and i'm going to find the date here somewhere i that's okay um but here would have been her how she put her name out look at all this embossing the samplers and these are so hard to find anyone who decorates primitive i know that they frame these oh yes yes okay so we found the date it was 1822 right there that one but there's one i think goes back to about 1803 if i'm i can remember right but just the penmanship is well they don't write like that anymore yeah here's one that they've a lament to her or death and all there is a stillness in the night when starry send down this quiet light when man forgets his cares and woes and [Music] and is hushed in deep repose oh my gosh these they wrote like that um which is wonderful but this is probably the oldest thing i have right now and um well this is definitely something more special than anything other because this is personable beautiful i um i have had in fact i i still have um it it's historical um you know papers when people were sold and they um paper changed hands and uh yeah or they became free uh papers and that that kind of history is still out there it's hard to hard to believe and but this is even older this is even older well thank you so
