already know that his indonesian interest in the final as kutaman is far honey previously in our first match of the day defeated the scratch pair of whole and so hard now we need to find their opponent is it gonna be the french brothers or fellow indonesians and rambutan [Applause] sprung a big surprise yesterday as they defeated the top seats kim astropan honest rasmussen also defending champions here in spain masters the pop-up brothers they were restricted to three games by local spanish combination cars peris and johann monderoy stop third game convincingly though right near side of the court here so here is uh kusumawatana west java that's 100 kilometers south of um the capital jakarta probably ranked 54th in the world had been as high as 50 and his partner jeremiah eric jacob and he's born in jakarta i think maybe um the thailand habit of giving the players a nickname could also be in play here rambutan represents um the exist badminton club in indonesia and here's their road to the final they were in three games in the first match against lauritz and then restart all from denmark and then as you can see a fairly easy second round against the french combination before defeating the top seeds here and they played spain masters back in 2020 as well the indonesians lost first round to liam day and kim ki-chong here is the left-hander crystal popov 19 years of age european junior champion in 2020 and um also the um silver middle east at the world junior championship back in 2019 lost the final to kundalini and this man we already know because he's in the final of the men's single and he's chasing another final in the men's doubles and both the two frenchmen are born in sofia and bulgaria but later moved to fosumat here's our ombre andrea chapini and second round in swiss open and three of those four occasions they lost tonight's draven rasmussen so i guess they clapped their hands yesterday when the danes lost to the indonesians but it might be frenchmen longest rally of them hatch 37 shots look at that now he's smashing on the next one he did it one more time is this the one [Laughter] he's really really fired up and they've totally turned this first game around being down 6 11. there it is again and he did it one more time in that rally where he was sitting down and returning fantastic flicker again and they've done it they've come back from five point down at the interval to take this first game against the rambutan and 21-18 how amazing is that we're totally down and out at the mid-game interval what a comeback they made [Music] is so okay getting a little bit of um banana to eat here oh his men single against the dong kyung wasn't as tough as it could have been so there should be energy left for more man stumbles here [Applause] i said i thought christopher had a fantastic serve and um i would like to follow up on that as we start the second game here i think it really was his serve that started the comeback of the two french brothers there the flickers that caught the indonesians by surprise and scored a few points a few easy points where they needed it most when they were behind some really really uh solid short serves as well where he can stand totally upright it's it's just very very high quality on the service and then the the flat flicker on the um on the game point i really think it's um an asset for the pair and it shows that the serve can be the first chance of attacking we've seen it with another with a number of them of strong players kevin sukamuru i'm not comparing krista popov and men's doubles to kevin succumblio but um so camus tumbling serve gave him some opportunities and other players have copied it after that his serve here crystal popos remind me a lot of um christina pedersen's serve who also developed um the ability to serve to various um areas of the courts and you couldn't really see you couldn't really tell which area it was and that was a huge advantage for her as a player [Applause] especially when you have the attacking firepower as some the two purpose have it's important to have a good shot so sorry over three one two three it's not an easy kill with [Music] momentum in this game three points away from forcing a decider 19 15. he strikes again toma junior pop-off how many of those smashes has he executed today first in the men's singles against li dong and now here in the men's doubles [Applause] 19. oi fantastic deception there it looked like he was tripping wow what an injection of pace from the left-hander it looked like he only had one option because he was falling over it was earlier in the rally this is the decision of the rally what a rate to take well that's good you almost got it back from sitting down referee is called on court probably a blood injury again nope that's the shoulder of um need some cool spray properly [Music] you really can't get um treatment on court but you're allowed to get the cool spray on a certain part of the body certain muscle you can't so i mean he can select the other shoulder next time but not the same one good shots from uh thomas who kept his calm there and for the first time in this second game it's all square they've come back again the pop offs six points at one time even more than in the first game two points away from the final birth is moving [Music] you can understand that they're using the challenge but i think it went long the push from crystal pop-off challenge unsuccessful no challenge remaining it's longer on the graphic than i thought it was but um so just a representation of the results oh there it is they take it enforcer decider does rambutan and kusumawadana after being caught up at 19-0 they kept the composure and took the game 21-19 foreign foreign thank you to secure that second game and at the same time final game [Music] blow to the morale of the two pop-up brothers and so close to the final here in hueva and then having to play one more game wow he's a smashing machine so much something happened to crystal yeah he wants some cool spray let's see if we can see what happens over there did his foot slide a little bit and they've been um they both both brothers have been sort of like stretching their hips on and off and yeah it's just the hip get some cool spray i don't know what's wrong with the hips there are they they've driven down here from marseille in a five hundred or three pop-ups or what both of them stretching their hips like you're very uncomfortable hopefully he can continue one [Applause] [Applause] is over [Music] good and i think that was what cost the error [Music] hey yeah there's a lot of variation in the attack right now to all not so easy to do it looks easy on court but but you've got to sort of have some agreements on your partner or with your partner so that he knows that you're changing the target and can adjust his attention accordingly so maybe one so twice go for the man on the right in front of you and then change to the cross or whatever the agreement is [Music] good good night seems like it's a little bit more efficient the attack when rambutan is on the back court home tournament in men's doubles in june 2020 when they mixed up the pairings he was paired with alfie and then one tournament only lost one game on the road to it five three that's quite impressive because a lot of good men stalled players in indonesia pearson this tournament i guess rank from four to six national teams [Applause] more [Applause] tomorrow [Music] five six [Applause] hey both players touched it that's why the phone is called from chapini [Applause] six bye [Applause] oh [Applause] [Applause] [Music] come on [Applause] waiting for the right chance [Music] [Applause] oh [Applause] hey oh good steepness on the smash from there rambutan the indonesians reach the mid-game interval ahead of their french opponents 11 8 this time narrowest of the leads that they've held at the mid game interval so far but um nothing is settled we've seen how well the pop-ups fight back in these games problems [Music] 118 [Applause] so no more intervals in this um stubble so it's full cold on it server in total that the indonesians have been folded [Applause] [Music] has the intensity dropped a little bit on the on the french side the fifth set he's playing this afternoon tomorrow junior pop off fantastic defense amazing rally here but um in the end rambutan they were made to work really really hard to win that point outside of the picture as we see the rally again is told not to shout at his opponents for the indonesians foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] really alert in the flat game in the service situation now the two indonesians oh nothing this time no point for the pulpoffs and a little limp again from crystal taking a seat on the players bench there oh he got that back that's thank amazing 16 9. [Applause] [Music] that happens once in a while even for the best it's comforting for us recreational players six points ahead of um here to secure an all indonesian final [Applause] 17 10. my boy what a shot excellent kill there by the left-hander 11 17. the sitting defense from the indonesian side this time run between getting this back with some quality as well mentioned earlier that the shuttles are a little bit slow here in um well i don't know i think actually it makes men's doubles much more entertaining with a little bit more slow shuttles doubles i'd like them a little bit faster and that becomes really entertaining as well 18 11. thank you notes that it's going to be difficult now to get to junior into two finals this tall [Music] [Applause] 19 11. so the writing on the wall is there 19. [Music] [Applause] hey [Music] rambutan when he leaps in the air there on mid court and now [Music] seven match points for a final birth for these two players here also indonesia are short of one title not the first time i'm asking that was a weak flicker from kusumawadana 14 20. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and that seals it for uh [Applause] and rambutan over the course of the match very well deserved [Music] magnificently in the first game and um stole that game after being down 11-6 at the interval then they were about to repeat that in the second game but um was etched out 21-19 and hearing the decider there really was no doubt rambutan and kusumu adana were the best pair and in 67 minutes they secured their spot in tomorrow's men's doubles final 18 21 21 19 21 14 as the two players celebrate the win and thereby indonesia short of winning the men's double title as they will take on utama and isfahani tomorrow [Music] so [Music] [Music] so after that entertaining men's doubles match we are getting ready for mixed doubles action in the last semi-final of the day it's the only unseated pair in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles ruben chiller and takes on the second seed from denmark nicholas north [Music] here is the quarterfinals
