all right guys gonna 432 here check it out what we're gonna be talking about today is zeroing in your brand new red dot now first of all this video is not for the individuals who have a lot of experienced professionals and ziering in a red dot I am talking to those individuals who just got their first rifle first firearm and they're mounted their first red dot and they want to know how do i zero this thing in so this video is directed to those individuals guys before we get into this thing I want to talk about the principles what they call minute of angle or m/o a so let's talk about that real quickly here we go all right so what is MOA MOA is just a unit of measurement or a measurement of unit or whatever you want to call it but in any case when we say 1 MOA we're talking about 1 inch at 100 yards so 1 MOA at 100 yards equals 1 inch of adjustment so if I were to take this grid square and I'm gonna place it at 100 yards when I fired around regardless of where it hits in the square hopefully hits in a square your minute of angle or adjustments are going to be MOA now on your red dot you're gonna see you've got a windage and elevation this is windage and this is elevation if you open up your red dot you're gonna see or in the instruction manual your adjustments now on this guy right here this is one minute of angle per click it's a lot I know most well unless you're talking about some serious high-end stuff most of your adjustment is going to be 1 MOA so what does that mean well that means that if my shoot my rifle and let's say I am aiming at this point right here right there and my round that I fire it lands let's say right here okay what is it gonna take for me to bring this point of impact to the area that I'm aiming at well we know that MOA equals one inch adjustments at 100 yards we're going to talk about different alignments but I don't want to get involved into the different distances for zero that's in another video that I did a while back actually I'll put the link down to that video right here so what we're gonna do is on your red dot you will see that you have an up or another arrow right there that indicates right so I know that my adjustments are one inch per click all right so what do I need to do in order to bring this point of impact here very simple very easy one click there's your arrow pointing up so I'm going to go one two three four five six now a lot of times with one-inch adjustments you're not gonna be able to get exactly on zero or two hit the bull's eye but you're gonna be able to get real close so we're gonna go one two three four five six or five so I'm gonna take a screwdriver or a pen and I'm gonna turn that till it clicks six times stand by now a lot of times what you can use is the rear of the rim of the cartridge but in this case I'm gonna use a screwdriver so I've got my up arrow indicating that left turns is up a lot of times this needs to be verified in the field I've actually had scopes that backwards a lot of this stuff in China does that so we're gonna go six clicks to the left one two three four five six alright so that should bring my point of impact up to right here let me show you so where he went one click two clicks three clicks four clicks five clicks six clicks so now my point of impact on my next shot should be right about there so what do we need to do now I know that I need to bring it to the right one two three four five roughly so I'm gonna get on my windage adjustment right here and it says turn to the left to go the input to put the point of impact to the right so we're going to go one two three four five was it five one two three four five yeah so now what's gonna happen is I am going to shoot again and my point of impact is going to be roughly about right there we may not be exactly perfectly on target but we're damn close all right guys so on one of my previous videos I did on how to zero rifle scope some people asked what if I'm at a 25-yard range well basically ladies and gentlemen MOA does not change 1 MOA and 100 yards equals one inch 1 MOA at 50 yards equals one half inch so each click on your red dot if 50 yards is going to indicate one half inch of movement so again let's do this where's my red marker if 50 yards if you hit here each adjustment is going to be 1/2 inch so instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 you're going to have to double that so it's 12 1 2 3 4 5 to move over at 50 yards you're gonna double that so just 10 clicks very simple very easy you have to imagine a minute angle is kind of like if you're shooting here and this is 100 yards this shot right here versus this shot right here this being one MOA this is at fifty yards this would be one half inch or one MOA and at 25 yards right here this would be one quarter-inch equaling 1 MOA I'm hope that makes sense but what we're gonna do is I'm going to show you at 50 yards each MOA click is equal to 1/2 inch at 25 yards each MOA adjustment is equal to 1/4 inch very simple very easy well guys I hope that that was simplified enough to where as a beginner somebody could take their red dot and zero it in at any range just remember know your scope know your optic know the adjustments on here if they're half-inch MOA adjustments each one of these clicks it's gonna take two clicks ago one inch at 100 yards if they're 1 MOA adjustment at a hundred yards that means each click is gonna send you one inch at point of impact very simple very easy if you have any questions please don't hesitate leaving them down below if you like the video please share like
