let me ask you this if no one opens your  emails how are you ever going to get booked   in this video I'm going to share with you the  five key components of a super effective email   that producers open View and reply to so you  can actually stop missing out on all those   opportunities before you even had a chance to  have your say and to shine this template has   helped me to get in front of the biggest people  in the circus industry all before my competition   could even say the word marketing stick around  because at the end you're going to have the exact   email template that has gotten my emails opened  and replied to for 20 years strong if you're new   here hi my name is Ulrike I am a circus artist and  professional business coach for circus performers   from all over the world and I teach marketing and  sales specifically for the circus industry so if   this is something that you're struggling with and  you want help with there's a link below this video   to speak to me directly okay let's dive right into  it oh and if you've been here before I'm so glad   you're back let's go so the biggest mistake  circus performers make is that they feel like   or they have this belief that they're annoying  producers or Bookers simply by writing to them   and don't get me wrong they are annoyed at your  emails I've been a producer for many many years   and it is horrific what emails you get so yes  producers are annoyed but they're not annoyed at   you they're actually desperately looking to find  you they're annoyed at the way that you choose   to communicate with them so if you have ever  wondered why some people get gigs before the   others certainly I did get most of the gigs before  other people did it's because I kept it gringe   free and I kept it robot free you're going to know  in a moment what I mean by that until the very end   and now you can leverage that too so key one is  an attention grabbing subject line so the subject   line is this short little line that you see before  you open the email and the job of the subject line   is to get your Emil email open and the way to do  this is to have a click worthy subject lines that   drives up your open rates your engagement meaning  people actually applying to you and then of course   your bookings without all the stress in the hustle  what most performers do wrong is one they don't   know how powerful a subject line is and two they  kind of use a subject line to generically describe   what's inside of the email what this does to the  producer on the other end they look at the email   subject line and they go oh another one of those  I can look at this later and later usually never   happens because if you ever tried to put yourself  into the shoes of a producer they're busy like   busy busy so unless you snatch their attention  with your subject line your email will go to the   bottom of their list and might never get opened  and this is the number one reason why there's no   replies to your emails and actually even worse no  bookings as a result so instead of saying serious   artist availability for juggler yes this was me  before I knew how to write an email or new costume   for my amazing act you want to say something  like this your next ACT Cyr Wheel for teeny   tiny stages or experience Foot Juggler client  ready 2024 video inside or the audience gasped   when I premiered my new disco dysfunction  act have you notice the difference with the   first ones you kind of like park it somewhere in  the back of your head and the other three it's   like you lead with curiosity you give them like a  little bit of the character to show like oh they   want to know more and this is the whole purpose  of the email and the easy way for you to check   this as well like when I write my subject lines  I really read them and I was like I check in with   myself and go would I want to open this and if  it's a strong juicy yes then I'm going to use that   subject line and I can hear you I know I you can  put your hand down I know you're going to ask me   Ulrike isn't this like completely unprofessional  and misleading and manipulating no and here's why   sending emails that are engaging clear and easy to  consume serves you and your clients at the highest   level because obviously you don't want to write  something that's not true in the subject line   it really has to be relevant to the content of  your email because otherwise what's the freaking   point but yes it is so so important and highly  encouraged to write professional emails that   are engaging and also entertaining did this ever  happen to you please let me know in the comment   so I don't feel so alone because honestly my  first two years of email marketing were kind   of poorly and I feel like I need to apologize  to all the producers for pesting them with my   terrible emails well you get to learn my bad  key number two is personalization have you ever   noticed what happens or how it feels when you're  talking to someone and right before they are going   into important piece of information or a part  of their story they first say your name the to   capture your attention and pull you into what they  were saying this is a highly undervalued tool of   communication and the amount of times circus  performers don't take a fraction of a second   just to Google and see if they can find the name  of the person that they're talking to is really   really high it goes to that point that I've spoken  to many med producers in my long career and they   say if someone doesn't say my name or I write a  wrong name I will not even read the email actually   I never read it so the job of personalization or  the goal of personalisation is to really grab the   reader attention people love hearing their own  names so when I started first out performing I   didn't know anyone I had to basically cold email  or cold call everyone I had to engage with clients   and like snatch their attention and without  them actually knowing who the heck I was it   was really really hard who are you however once  I started using people's names in my emails and   not just in the opening line but throughout the  entire email especially when I asked them to do   something like please reply to my email or let  me know what you think or I wanted them to kind   of engage or interact with my content I noticed  that every time I used their first name in the   subject line or in the opening line or throughout  the entire content it had a massive effect on not   only the reply rate but the types of reply that  I got because I kind of used the names in a way   as if I already knew them so I've got two tips  for you one repeat that name a couple of times   throughout the entire email for example you could  write hey Steffi so great to meet you and then a   bit later you could say something like this is  this something that you find valuable Steffi   for the kind of Productions that you put on and  the second tip I've got for you is this use the   person's name on important moments of your email  let's say you're about to describe an important   part about what you have to offer you could  write something like this and this is the best   part Steffi or Steffi I think this would be really  really valuable to you this grabs their attention   at important points but here's my advice don't  overuse it you know you don't want to sound like a   broken record use it wisely but I would say two to  three times for a short email max if you're one of   the many many performers that has this zero reply  nightmare going on for months and years I promise   you it's not you it's just you haven't learned  how to do it properly if you're struggling with   is and your emails just don't hit the right spots  I would love to help there's a link below this   video to speak to me directly key number three is  a killer hook this is your killer hook so the hook   is the first sentence or the first few sentences  of your email and the job of the hook is to hook   your readers attention and make them want to  read the rest of your email fun fact research   shows that the average email open rate across  all Industries is 25% you know what that means   it means that every 100 emails sent only 25 are  even seen and a hook can significantly increased   percentage of your email being chosen to be opened  meaning your chance is to getting booked book it   and this is what this could look like for you hope  you're doing well Steffi I just recently bumped   into Peter from Cirque you know and he mentioned  that you're working on a new project and that   really sparked my interest in XYZ so you could  take the approach of a shared interest yeah I   would immediately go okay who's Peter what project  oh yeah of course you immediately it's not generic   or you could take a little bit more of a sarcastic  humorous approach you could say something along   the lines of this is it just me or do circus  performance these days just take their acts to   process that trauma and show how depressing the  world is talking about depression I think I might   have a great act that will prevent your audience  from jumping right off the bridge so that is a   fun way of going like wait a minute what act is  that it's sounds like it's really funny so as   you see you want your hook to be related to what  you're actually sharing then a winner is always if   you're not selling a comedy act or you don't feel  comfortable with something funny or you don't have   a shared interest you can always always always  hit home with gratitude so it is really easy to   Google someone and to find something they've  recently done and to research about a person   and find something that you truly appreciate about  them and you could start with saying this I wanted   to take a moment to share my appreciation for  something blah blah blah blah blah something that   remember a key to a strong Hook is to be clear  and concise and to create a sense of intrigue or   urgency to really help the reader to want to read  the rest of your email key4 is a body copy with   one core idea principle or offer the amount of  times from my time as a producer and also sending   those emails in my early times in my career that  were so packed with so much information and so   many different elements that quite frankly when  you receive it as a producer it makes you feel   overwhelmed and again putting yourself into the  shoes of a producer it makes you want to deal   with this later because you got to remember your  producers they're busy they don't sit around and   just have time to read through endless emails and  the worst part is it leaves this negative feeling   lingering around connecting to you and that's  really not what you want you want every piece of   information every piece of communication to really  Enlighten your producers to really serve them at   the highest level and not make them annoyed or  frustrated or overwhelmed and I know you probably   think it's probably better if I send everything  at one at once so I don't bother them and it's   easier for them to file it but this is this is not  the reality and I can imagine you probably even   thought about how your producer would feel like  you probably thought okay I don't want to annoy   the producer so I'm going to send everything that  I have in one big email so they have everything   that I need in one place right well this is cool  however it doesn't work imagine you on the first   day and someone literally tells you their entire  life story with everything it's quite overwhelming   it's like okay easy yeah so what you want to do  is bite-sized give them bite-sized pieces have a   conversation going yeah you can always send more  later just have bite-sized pieces one core idea   one principle one offer one availability One  Core idea could look something like this I'm   actually going to read this because my laptop is  right here for my notes and I don't want to mess   this up so hi Mica I'm a cus artist specializing  in foot juggling for variety enthusiasts and I   am different from other people because I make  sure the audience has a hell of a good time top   with extravagant costumes and yes I also take the  boxes for the wow factor tricks knowing that your   audience also loves a good time I think this  new act the Disco dysfunction will be super   valuable to you so short and spicy just a short  introduction because you can't skip that step   obviously you want to shortly say who you are what  you do and why you do different but then one core   idea one offer I'm going to show you one act I've  created for you because this way the producer or   the client can actually understand and digest  what you're saying and is much more inclined   to engage with you and to interact with you and  I've lived the best for last because without the   key number five your entire email could flop stop  flopping key number five is a clear call to action   also call a CTA because if you don't tell your  readers what you want them to do as a result of   what you've sent them they won't do it it's like  if you're inviting someone to a party you know   you created the virtual invite uh everything  is ready the location is booked you send the   invites out but you forgot to mention the freaking  address that's what would happen if you don't put   a CTA on your email a clear call to action CTA  is like adding the address to your invitation   it tells the producer exactly where to go next  whether it's replying to your email visiting   your website or scheduling a call without this  detail they might be super interested in the   party but they get really lost and they're unable  to find you and if you're breaking out into hives   at the moment do not worry I have created a super  easy magic CTA formula for you that will increase   your reply rate so much that you will feel stupid  ever not using it again and the magic CTA formula   goes like this instruct plus invite so instruct  simply means to tell them exactly what to do   next in a really non-fancy way the more clear you  can be the better so that could be to visit your   website request your press kit or reply to the  email an invite simply means to make it really   welcoming and engaging and keep the conversation  going because here's the thing the purpose of   building a relationship through email marketing is  to keep the conversation going and to step by-step   build a relationship with that person through  your email so instruct would be to see a sneak   peek of my new act disco dysfunction click this  link to watch the new video on my website it's   pretty clear what you have to do right and then  invite no pressure but if you're interested you   can download my presskit with a full length video  and some high res resolution pictures right here   so it's a casual invitation with a little bit of  added value what if you are scared to feel kind of   like salesy and pushy by telling them exactly what  you want them to do here's a mindset shift that I   recommend for this crafting converting emails or  any piece of marketing is an act of service for   you and your clients period you're really just  serving your clients at the highest level okay   let's look at the finished email so I start with  the attention grabbing subject line which we said   is the audience gasped when my when I premiered  my new disco dysfunction act then you open with a   personalised opening line hi Steffi so great to  meet you then you go straight into your killer   hook it is just me is it just me or do circus  performers nowadays use their acts to process   trauma and show how depressing the world is  speaking of depression I might have a solution   to help with acts that make your audience feel  like they want to jump right up a bridge okay   and then you go go into your body copy with one  core thought idea principle or offer which is   short introduction of yourself of yourself if  you haven't already done that hi I'm Ma I'm a   circus artist specialising in foot juggling for  variety enthusiasts and I'm different from other   performers because I make sure the audience has a  hell of a good time top with extravagant costumes   and yes I also take the boxes for the wow Factor  tricks knowing that your audience also loves   a good time sty I think the new act the Disco  dysfunction will be super valuable to you then you   finish it off with your call to action very very  important to see a sneak peek of disco dysfunction   and action watch this video on my website here so  you would just hyperlink the link to your website   here and that was the instruct and now the invite  part no pressure but if you're interested check   out my downloadable client ready press kit for  the F length video and high resolution Primary   pictures here so you would hper link that here and  you just sign off thank you thank you so much for   taking the time to read this I know you're busy  like all of us warm regards Ulrike this is how you   write an email that gets opened and reply to so if  you want your email efforts rewarded and actually   get producers to see your work and get the right  eyes on your work I'd love to help there's a link   below this video where you can speak with me  directly if this was valuable to you I'm going   to tell you this is only the iceberg of what  marketing can do for you as a circus artist so   first I want you to watch some of my other videos like this one thank you so much for watching hit   the Subscribe button and the
