Thanks for sharing - I credit this post with leading me into matcha. I've been interested in matcha but didn't want to buy the associated utensils, and after watching this video I found his video on how to make iced matcha lattes which are a simpler process. Went out and got matcha and have been making iced matcha lattes the last couple of days. Maybe one day I'll make the leap to hot matcha, but I'm really happy about my iced matcha!

what's going on everybody leo looky here social distancing with TN which I'm actually kind of excited because I finally have time to to talk about G online on video you know I hope everybody trying to find a meaningful way to spend your time at home doing this canteen doing this tough time so for me give me an opportunity to talk about T online and hopefully it will help a lot of people understanding why I love T so much and why T so good for you now the first topic is gonna be about Mota okay I've been pushing a lot of Mota to everybody I actually as soon as with the corner Ferris thing happening I immediately like I got a drink matter I got a drink matter because I know that's gonna improve my immune system right and then sometime I was thinking like wow I don't think people understand that mata is not just this I mean people know that much as healthy but and Mars as delicious that I don't think people know exactly how to make matter and what even what to do with Martha so I'm gonna go through with that really quick in front of me I have some essential items that you might need for Amata oh no cat's face I just touched my face in there you know you shouldn't do that so anyway so the bowl it's very unique you see the bottom part is kind of flat and that's what you need but this is not the only kind of bold I used to thaw if the thing maybe all matzo-ball that I'd be like flat but that's not actually - I have tried with like bald and face like more curved on the bottom and I make really good much out of it so at the end is really just your practice and your techniques a lot you will make it easier if you have this kind of bowl just because when you wish the mods are like on the side it would be a lot easier for you to kind of manage to get all of those mix well with the water but I've used a hot normal bowl that you find at home there's nothing wrong with it I don't care what other people say that you gotta like some X but they'll tell you that there you have to use the right tool with the right mater bowl it's gotta be from Japan like for me the best match has the one that you can make and then who cares about all these tools if you don't end up making the match on yourself right so so I think just go at least maybe get a wish I mean even if you don't have a waste you can use a frother or you can even use a cocktail shaker oh if your mason jar you can just put water and shake it really hard with your mason jar you know covered early it's there's so many ways you know my other favorite way you can actually just blend it with eyes you know in the in your smoothie maker or something you know whatever you need to get that matter in your body now quality it's the quality of the matter obviously very important and I'll talk about it about the quality of matter in the future video look at that's a whole lot of topic but for now let's go to this the ball talk about that and the waist if you have this bamboo is there will be better what you want to look for is the one that have a lot of prongs this one hundred promised this is it this is a Chinese style the Japanese style they have a little bit different things but they both work just fine I've used both of them it works just fine the Japanese style one tend to be slightly more expensive there might be like around thirty dollars where the Chinese one you can get it like under $20 and this is the one that we have this is a stand when I first got this I have no idea how how to use it at that time I thought this haul is to put this you know this one it doesn't fit but in the Pass where the one I got exactly fit you just put it in and I thought was thinning like that and I like doesn't make sense at all you know what's the point I guess I thought maybe so that he just doesn't fall off but it's actually the other way around and there's a reason for it because after you use it you want to wash it and you should never you put this in the dishwasher and you just what sit with him okay running on the water and then it's gonna be wet on the bottom so what happened if you put it like this then all the waters gonna sitting around all the way here it's gonna start creating bacteria and so that's why you want to put it like this and then you see this how it opened up is actually air dry it faster for you that's that's why you would need to stand otherwise you will always going to put this in a counter again optional you don't have to have it but you know it's nice to have it but I have a lot of people don't have it it's fine scoop first I saw it I thought it's like what what the hell is it looks like a hockey puck isn't it and I thought it's just a scoop you know but maybe I thought it's just a just trying to be fancy with this curved design but exactly that there's a reason for it and why it's so sleek and long you know you know you're not holding it like this you're holding it like this and part of the reason because the powder can get really messy in your back you know if you ever if you have either if it's come from a can so you just say for example I have this bag if I don't have these and I'm trying to use a scoop a lot of time if I like just like tables when the tables when the handle this would be short so what end up happening you're gonna put your hand in it and you're gonna make a whole mass it does your hand that's now suddenly 22 green so that's why you have this and so that you can kind of like fish out the Motta you know and you use it the scoop now the ship these I wanna scrape where this is optional some people some people like to use a strainer so because a fine really really good much usually really really fine so what it does it help you remove the clown from the matcha so that you can use this to scrape tamata into the bowl so there is a lot finer but a lot of people actually don't even need this so you can just basically put it directly as long as you have the right technique you can actually still make a good matter with the strainer so that's optional okay I have seen more and more people don't use strainer but a lot of our customers we always try to teach them to use a strainer but I noticed some Japanese people when they see us using a strainer they think we're not professional or we don't know what we're doing that's I mean you're not supposed to mix deal with much but I I mean they can say whatever but for me you make it much out the way you want it as long as you make it that much better than trying to teach people and all this complicated stuff and nobody making the matter so for me go make the matcha and you can improve it later in the future a lot of my customer like that you know they might not make the best way but hey they're drinking the tea so that's that's a hundred percent better than those that trying to make it better the perfect way and end up never making them much I never even drinking one now after that so you want to put about a hundred seventy-five that's the temperature I like but this is all just guideline I have a lot of people using lower temperature and so what happened if you use low temperature is the heat actually hold the matter to make it more froggy okay so if you have too low you will still be able to mix them but it will not be as frothy so low I found it like around 175 it seems to be the perfect temperature for me but again this is just guideline if you don't have it don't worry about it just as long as it's not boiling it's only ice it's like just like a little bit hotter than warm water that's all you need you know okay right now it's 175 now a lot of debate with this you can also pull the water directly to the matcha which sometimes it's not a good idea you wanna pull it from the side if you want so it's a lot more by putting it on the side and not directly to the center of the matcha basically it's more gentle you know when the hot water hit matcha directly sometimes it can make the tea taste a little bit more bitter now I just put very little again so I didn't put that much and a go at the moment because we are not using any strainer the goal at the moment it's just a massage the math job all right so I'm just massaging it she no feed the this is important guys look at the liquid how thick it is see how thick it is this is what you want so if you if if you put too much water it's going to make it hard when you want to make it too frothy so you put just enough water you see how thick is this and she even you can see it how how it stick on there on the width and it's okay later only we put more water it's gonna be okay so see that and you can see the bottom of the bowl there's no clumps that's your goal right there see if there's any clumps okay remember we're not using a strainer so so you're gonna massage them slowly okay see it's almost like a pace just slightly thicker it's almost like a syrup okay now this is the most important part so you're gonna put it on 175 and you're gonna do this fast okay and don't put too much water if you put too much water it won't be it won't be frothy your goal is to make it Friday first see that so if you have the right technique honestly it's going to be very easy if you put too much water I promise you no matter how fast you do this it won't be creamy look at this it's so simple and the one that was over here it's all gone by now this is what you want as it's so easy so people sometimes they use too much energy they whisking it like fast like crazy and it's still not frothy so how fast can I do it that's not true the problem is you put too much water look how much water look at this this is like a whole bowl it's like this deep okay how much water I put now once you make it creamy already then you can add more water and that creepiness is going to stay on the top and then so it's once you always perfectly does like almost like looking like a cappuccino then you can add more water to dilute it to the way you like it if you think this is too strong so once you already done that part this is now actually that creaminess is going to stay that's a secret guys so if you put too much water right from the first step and the second step you will not make it look like this so that's the trick all right so hopefully you enjoyed the videos if you have any questions drop a comment you can message me directly on Instagram or Facebook or YouTube I'm going to put more videos about tea related education tutorials please subscribe to the video if you want to watch more of these kind of videos and put a Tom's like thank you
