How To Unlock Harv's Plaza | Animal Crossing New Horizons

it's ceo here and the 2.0 animal crossing update has brought us a brand new shopping area this new feature called harvest plaza brings together your favorite new and old characters including kicks red leaf reese and cyrus tortomer harriet and katrina each of these characters now has their own dedicated area on harvest island to sell you exclusive items tell you your fortune get a haircut access your home storage and customize your items like never before this area is akin to the city in animal crossing city folk and the main street and animal crossing new leaf you won't want to miss out experiencing this brand new area as it's a feature we've been missing since the release of new horizons last year i know many of you were concerned because you updated your game and didn't see this new area unlocked yet so if this is the case for you this video will guide you in the right direction but before i go into the specifics there are two main parts to unlocking this brand new area first you need to unlock harv and his island and the second part will be unlocking the plaza on harvest island you'll know if you don't have harvest plaza unlocked if you walk to the back of harvest island only to be met with a clothesline so in this video i will show you how to unlock harvest plaza from the very beginning but i will also include timestamps in the description since many of you will be starting from different points in your progress when it comes to unlocking this new shopping area you may have already start to unlock it without even realizing it also remember to subscribe to my channel for more animal crossing videos on how to unlock new features first i will show you how to unlock harvest island since that's where the plaza will be located if you go to your airport and you don't see the option to fly to harvest island under the fly menu you have not unlocked the island yet i do want to note that the following things are not needed to unlock harvest plaza the able sister shop museum building second upgrade to nook's cranny or upgrade the size of your house at all this video goes over the minimum requirements you need to unlock cars plaza to make it as easy as possible for you when starting from scratch let's say if you've restarted your island or brand new to the game the first few things you'll need to do to start on la carves island are half three villagers living on your island build three new village or plots for new island residents and build nooks cranny these three milestones are considered the beginning steps when you start a new island they set the base for you to expand upon and further develop your island tom nook in resident services will guide you a bit to help you achieve having three island residents building the three plots and building nooks cranny so it should be pretty straightforward but if you need some help unlocking these three things check out my video on how to get a three star island it goes over everything you need to do in the beginning of the game which will help you unlock all those exciting new features in the 2.0 update also if you have any questions please let me know in the comments so i can try and help you after you've completed those three beginning steps you should see harvey walking around your island harvey or har for short is the key to unlocking harvest island and eventually harvest plaza when you see harvey walking around your island you want to go up and talk to him he appears to be a hippie dog and is very easy to talk to but be sure not to ignore him because if you never talk to him you will never unlock harvest plaza if you're further into the game and still have not unlocked harvest island go run around your island a little bit and see if harv is wandering around there's a good chance he still will be if you've never seen or talked to him before once you talk to him he will tell you about his island that you can fly to via the airport the same day you can go to your airport select fly then select fly to harvest island you will need to take at least one trip before you can start the process of unlocking harvest plaza once you get to his island go inside the log cabin called horror's phototopia this house has a really cool feature where you can decorate any room using any item in your catalog it's basically a mini decorating simulator with an animal crossing if you've played happy home designer or paradise it's basically the same thing without a story line to unlock and complete in horror's phototopia you can invite your island villagers and scandinavia cards for them to appear in the room with you you can set villagers to have different reactions dress them up and take photos in the rooms you've decorated it's a really fun feature that i personally use a lot when making these youtube videos but the main takeaway here is you need to go inside horrors phototopia at least once and do at least one photo session which just entails decorating a bit and taking a photo to complete this necessary task to unlock harvest plaza once you've gone to this point everything you need to do going forward is going to count towards unlocking his plaza if you already have a three-star island and have unlocked terraforming the next day harvest plaza should be unlocked for you you'll know if it is when you see this rainbow pinwheel when you get off the plane on harvest island but if you go to the next day in game and you don't have harvest plaza unlocked this means you need to get your island up to a three star evaluation you will unlock the ability to check your island star rating after the resident services tent upgrades to a building you can talk to isabel to find out your island's evaluation rating and having a one or two star evaluation won't cut it i already made a video for you that will show you how to get a 3 star island evaluation and that video is linked in the description once you get to 3 stars the hard part is over the day after you get your 3 star evaluation kk slider will perform on your island the day after that is when you'll finally be able to unlock harvest plaza assuming you've already done at least one photo shoot in harvest phototopia that is again you'll know hearth's plaza is ready to go when you step off the seaplane and see this rainbow pinwhale in the distance walk to the back of harvest island go under the arch and you'll see harv and harriet and after their little entrance the rest is up to you you'll see seven lloyds all around the plaza asking for donations each lloyd represents a specific stall that you can unlock for each npc it costs 100 000 bells to unlock each stall but in the end it's definitely worth it going clockwise around the plaza the stalls you can unlock are katrina sahara tortemir rhys and cyrus leaf red and kicks with harriet in the middle each stand is unique and offers different items and features so i encourage you to check them all out since they are a big part of the new update and that's everything you need to know about how to unlock harvest plaza i'm so glad they added this into the game because a centralized area with vendors was something we were sorely missing
