How to Transfer Files from Samsung to your Mac | Samsung Smart Switch Tech Tutorial

welcome back guys today I'm going to show you how to get your Mac to play nice with your Android yeah I said it this tutorial will show you the entire process on how to get files off your Samsung Android device and onto your Mac via the USB cable fast in the past I struggled with getting files off my Android onto my Mac mainly video recordings due to the large file size it was a pain my process was to upload the files from my phone to my cloud storage and then download them minutes later onto my Mac this wasted an insane amount of time as you can imagine thankfully this is now in the past with this new method I can get video recordings off my Galaxy phone in seconds so let's Jump Right In first things first we'll need to get the app installed on your Galaxy device so let's go ahead and head over to uh the Play Store we'll search for Samsung Smart Switch and we'll go ahead and get that app installed on your device perfect now that the app is installed on your Galaxy Device you can now hop over to your Mac to finish the file transfer setup depending on your Mac you will need a cable to connect your phone to your Mac typically this will be a USB type-c to type-c Cable although it may be different for you I have a M1 MacBook a so I'm using a USB type-c to type-c Cable in addition to the cable we will be using Samsung Smart Switch app so head to this page to download your copy of the Samsung Smart Switch app all right so now uh download your copy of the Samsung Smart Switch app and just follow the in installation process process and at the end of the installation process you will need to restart your computer unfortunately so go ahead and do that and uh meet me back here all right now that your computer has been restarted um it's time to launch the app go ahead and search for Smart Switch go ahead and then open that up once the app has been opened you'll need to enable um the security extensions um the Smart Switch uh extensions so just open up your security settings um by going to system settings then going down to privacy and security and then yeah just follow along you'll need to enable all of the Smart Switch um extensions and then once that has been completed go ahead and try to reconnect your device uh it should work [Music] now as you can see um now my my Galaxy s23 is connected and you can easily navigate um the file structure um you can see I'm heading to my camera where my files are located my uh video recording files and um I'm going to demo how easily it is to um now retrieve files from your Galaxy device and just uh drag and drop them onto your Mac it's a simple is that and then the uh the file will be ready uh readily available for you to start editing or to play back so I'm going to quickly grab this almost 500 megabyte file um as you can see it's chewing through that no problem um and this is from my Galaxy s23 uh to my MacBook M1 uh MacBook Air and you see that took about 10 seconds so um before it would take an insane amount of time I would have to upload to the uh my cloud storage uh which I was using Microsoft One drive and then I would then download that uh from the web browser down to my Mac and then if I needed to make a new a new shot or a new clip um I'd have to reshoot that on my my Galaxy device and then do the same process again but now it makes it so much easier as you can see um yeah that that file is is ready to be watched and uh can easily be um moved from your Galaxy over to your Mac in seconds and here's another file dropping it's Al 500 almost 500 megabytes and you can see that that is blowing through that uh another 7 8 8 10 seconds for that file to be transferred and boom hope you guys guys found this tutorial very helpful I enjoyed making it uh it saves me a lot of time now and I just wanted to get deep that out to you um and hopefully it saves you time to get videos off of your Galaxy Device onto your Mac and yeah please consider giving me a like And subscribe guys uh this is a small Channel I'm trying to grow uh like is free sub subscription to my channel is free and I'd really really appreciate it and thank you guys for watching I'll catch you guys in the next one peace oh
